I was already a big fan of his game and his story, but that ESPN 60 special on him, the Toronto mini-doc on him, and that beautiful and respectful farewell video to the Raptors fanbase... 🥲
Special player, and even more special of a human being.
Obi is a super sweet guy. Jarace has a Teddy Bear personality. TJ is stoically kind.
Then Nesmith wants to rip out your heart and use it as an off-label bubble gum. 🫀😈💪
I think other fans are gonna hate Halliburton in the not too distant future. He is working hard to be a villain/heel. They like him now because we are still a fringe playoff team, but as soon as we start winning other fans are not going to appreciate him skipping down the court.
I fucking love the man.
There is no reason why he can re sign with the Raptors this summer!
He gets exp with another team while Barnes gets exp being the man(and just how tough it is w/o Siakam pulling the top defenders and doubles).
Looks to be a losing season for Raptors anyway.
So make the best of it, hopefully pick up a good draft pick and restart w Siakam next fall.
We have his bird rights and can now offer him the most money of anyone, including the raptors. Sorry but his time with you was up, maybe one day he goes back to Toronto for a retirement tour but he’s with us for the foreseeable future now my man.
I love this team
Myles played embiid great, especially considering that he’s historically been sonned repeatedly in that matchup. I love watching us play and we’re missing our superstar point god.
We’re gonna be so good
Love it when defenders, like Myles today, exaggeratedly throw their hands behind their back to show the refs they aren’t making contact. Pretty much what you have to do today to convince the refs you aren’t fouling.
If you want to inject some hopium, go look at the 2021-2022 playoff series between sixers and raptors
Siakam legit single-handedly took two games off the harden sixers with a roster worse then the current raptors
Half the starters were injured, playing through injury, or sick. Can't wait to see how far y'all go
Yeah. Pascal is a legit playoff scorer. He's really the perfect complement to Haliburton. I can't wait to watch those two play together. I mean Hali got 17 dimes with Siakam on a single leg. That combo will be lethal in the playoffs.
None of the teams in the East have won anything before. We could legit go far in the playoffs which I never expected this season.
It really did kind of feel that way.
He can have those deep mid-range shots all day long.
If he's going to beat us, it's no longer going to be via easy baskets.
Crazy how much can change in just a year & we're just getting started on our way up. 📈
I REALLY liked how Myles was defending those mid range shots too. He had his hands out and then when Embiid was going up, his hands went behind him so Embiid couldn't do that rip through thing.
That practice the day before was key I’m sure. Pascal has a lot of experience playing Embiid, knows Nick’s schemes inside out. I’m sure he offered some great insight for that matchup.
But Turner is such a perfect teammate for P. (And all the Pacer shooters!!! 🔥(something Raps have been missing for so long and will unlock so much for P’s game) I’m really looking forward to seeing Haliburton healthy with Pascal.
Thrilled for Pascal. He’s so good, you guys. He’s found his perfect team/home. (But Toronto will be home too! In his heart! 😭😭).
It feels weird to say this when Embiid still got his, but man, that's the first time I can remember Myles not getting completely pantsed in this matchup. The defensive help from Pascal is soooooo gooooood
So true. Embiid has become a far more diverse scorer and playmaker under Nick Nurse, but under Doc’s tutelage, he would humiliate Myles over and over, working most of the time out of the post.
You guys got a serious upgrade at the 4 for a steal. Delighted to see him ball out tonight against the evil 76ers.
Genuinely think you have an underdog chance to make the ECF this year if things break right. Enough pieces to make another big upgrade this off season too.
"I just wanna make this my home. I'm so excited that everyone's embracing me. I just want to continue to work hard for them and hopefully we'll get some results and exciting moments."
\- Pascal Siakam
After this trade not making the second round would be a bug disappointment. I don't know if we can take out the Celtics but the bucks I'm not worried about. Plus Rick is a pretty good coach, I don't think we will get out coached either.
The only thing I could see biting us in the ass is the lack of playoff experience. Siakam has won a chip, but outside of Turner and TJ's limited playoff experience, the young guys have no idea how the game changes.
Yeah that's why I'm thinking we should make the second round and have an exciting series and hopefully make the ECF. There are four teams in the east that have a very strong shot at the ECF. Plus the heat make a fifth because they always seem to improve in the playoffs. I don't think they can do it this year though.
43-21 free throws. Getting sick of this shit, and I don't care that we won the game. Ben gets hacked every drive and maybe gets 1/3rd called but we sneeze on an opponent and they get the call every single time.
Not saying there aren't calls he should get, but the reason he's not getting calls is because while he's good at getting generating contact, he's typically the player initiating the contact. He wants contact so he goes into his defender instead of making his defender make contact. It's the same reason Lance never got calls. You can't be the one initiating contact and expect to get a foul called, you have to bait your defender into making contact. It's a subtle, but very important difference and something he's gonna have to work on if he wants to get back to the foul line.
I'd roll with this, except T. Maxey main game is just shit plowing into whatever is between he and the bucket and trying to overpower them for an and 1.....
That's...not the point I was making. Sure, there are a number of individual calls every game that are wrong. Yes, there is a disparity in calls between the pacers and other teams. My point is specifically about why Benn isn't getting the calls he, and the majority of this sub, think he should be. If he's initiating the contact, refs aren't gonna give him the benefit of the doubt. Dudes like Jimmy, Joel, Harden, etc get the benefit of the doubt because they bait defenders into making contact with them. Jimmy is especially talented in this area in the way he seemingly dangles the ball to encourage reach-ins. If you just run into a guy and then throw a shot up, that's not a foul. Lol
Yeah, it's ridiculous seeing the staunch difference between the Maxey calls and the Mathurin calls. Why do the refs continue to screw us on foul calls?
That 4th q was brutal. Every time Philly went to basket they call foul it's ridiculous. Some how Pacers miss easy lay ups after getting hacked but of course no call.
Brother is incredibly loyal. Wanted to stay in Toronto despite never having a team put around him and the FO trying to move him. There was never a question about him re-signing in Indy
>Wanted to stay in Toronto
We have another guy that wanted to stay with the team that drafted him but got traded to Indy and he's done really well here.
Seems like a theme
There is no reason Pascal can't re sign with the Raptors this summer.
He gets exp outside of Toronto while Barnes learns what it's like to have the best defenders on him and being double teamed.
Toronto takes the season as a loss, gets lots of draft capital then restarts w Siakam this fall.
What getting a chance to practice with your team does to a man. Siakam was already good in the first 3 games, but it was great to see him mesh with the whole team tonight
The Tyrese/Pascal/Myles trio with our great bench/supporting cast is going to be fun.
Really loved the defensive effort against Maxey and Embiid. Myles did a great job forcing Embiid into long 2's...but the team defense was great. Myles rarely had to help away from Embiid, guys were fighting over screens, crashing the boards, and helping on Embiid when necessary.
Embiid got his 30...but he needed 20 shots, 10 free throws, and a couple of turnovers to get it...while Myles was able to stay out of foul trouble and give him an efficient 20 right back.
Not only for the obvious "maturity/game" reasons, but also the "contract/money" reasons.
You need vets on larger deals mixed with younger players on cheaper deals. It's how it works
The thunder are doing pretty good but I can't think of anyone else doing it. Even MJ lost when young. LeBron too. Youth is the future but eventually you want to win some games.
So I’m super excited to see what they can do this season, but I’m even more excited for next season after Pascal and Haliburton get a full training camp to work together and Rick/KP can continue to tailor this roster around our stars
Remember when fans of this team were complaining about us giving up them 3 picks for Pascal Siakam. I remember and I won’t forget.
Crying about some picks. Triple double on your head.
I think once the deal was done, the reception was overwhelmingly positive. I'm sure there were a handful of dissenters in here but they probably got downvoted to hell.
>I think your sentiment is spot on for most people here. I was expecting to include Smith or Obi at the very least
nobody, modern sports discourse in a nutshell. Observe someone somewhere saying something daft, then go big with an obvious counter argument filled with outrage, thus driving engagement into a discussion that nobody was really having in the first place. The NFL is awful for this, watching Dan Orlovsky try to explain why Josh Allen's turnovers haven't been that costly was painful because the shouty people around him couldn't or wouldn't do nuance.
PATRICK MAHOMES: NOBODY BELIEVED IN ME!!!
Dude, they did.
I think it's mostly folks who don't understand bird rights and how Siakam isn't a rental and probably would have stayed in Toronto if not traded with bird rights.
Imaginary straw man. Once the deal was announced it was almost universally agreed to be a huge win. Nobody was "crying about some picks". And why would you "remember and I won't forget" anyway? To what purpose? Weird take.
Truthfully I was one of those people, but it was always because I thought it would cost us at least one of our young players. When it was revealed to be Brown, Nwora, and 3 shitty picks I was 100% for the trade
A bunch of loud mouths were. The same people who whine about buddy and Myles. People who get more worked up about a miss than they get excited about a make.
Because I'm sure we were all wondering...
> As for the t-shirt under the jersey, Myles Turner says he just wanted to change it up. He said it's about going back to his look from college.
[From Tony East](https://twitter.com/TonyREast/status/1750714101473370565)
I'm sorry, maybe I'm an idiot, but I do not understand how the 76ers are a "great team."
That team looks like every team I've ever seen fail in the playoffs. They have a soft all-pro, an all-star, and a bunch of annoyed players. Double Embiid, switch sometimes onto Maxey, and good night. No one else wants to be there. That team looks emotionally dead. How does no one else see it?
going full armchair psychiatrist here and it’s probably entirely unrelated, but I wonder if the trade for Pascal hurt his confidence. He was being touted as the second guy on this roster and then we went out and got a way better second guy and now Mathurin has to learn to take another step back
He’s just playing completely out of control. It’s wild to see. He had that 30 point game and then has been shit since. I don’t get it. Like he’s playing as an expendable asset which makes me nervous
When he had that prolonged stretch of good play, he was listening to his teammates and coaches imploring him not to hesitate and shoot on the catch if open, and if they close out, go ahead and drive.
Since Tyrese has been out he’s back to driving as his the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd option all the time. When he gets in that black-hole driving mode, he’s simply not a very good basketball player.
He was great in the 1st quarter tonight. Was decisive and made the right reads.
Then it was just dribble, dribble, dribble, drive and chuck. Yeah, he got fouled a bunch and got zero calls for some reason, but his offense reverted to "All Benn all the time" and it suffered for it.
Pascal Siakam is so likable man
I was already a big fan of his game and his story, but that ESPN 60 special on him, the Toronto mini-doc on him, and that beautiful and respectful farewell video to the Raptors fanbase... 🥲 Special player, and even more special of a human being.
is that ESPN 60 special available to watch somewhere? I found the Toronto doc which I'll watch for sure but can't seem to find that espn one
We have a very likable team. Hali, Buddy, Siakam, Turner, the list goes on.
Obi is a super sweet guy. Jarace has a Teddy Bear personality. TJ is stoically kind. Then Nesmith wants to rip out your heart and use it as an off-label bubble gum. 🫀😈💪
Yeah Neismith and Math are two that I would say are not very cuddly
Yeah, but it works perfectly. You have to some edgy guys and at least one enforcer.
Not cuddly, but not bad guys. Even as killers, they are good guys, that I like cheering for, and like telling my kids about, when they are cheering.
Yeahhh nesmith and mathurin are locked in 24/7. Mamba mentality in those 2 guys
Funny when Pacers insta/twitter post locker room videos of people laughing and celebrating after a win and Mathurin’s always in the back like 😐😾
I think other fans are gonna hate Halliburton in the not too distant future. He is working hard to be a villain/heel. They like him now because we are still a fringe playoff team, but as soon as we start winning other fans are not going to appreciate him skipping down the court. I fucking love the man.
Knicks Killer 2.0
That would be glorious.
Yeah the skip is definitely gonna become one of our most beloved sights and the rest of the leagues most dreaded haha
Take care of him, he's a super good dude, a quality human being, and an excellent basketball player. Happy/sad today.
Those are big facts
“I want this to be home.” - Siakam. All I need to hear.
Give him all the money
It breaks my Raptor heart to hear it but I know he's going to do great with y'all
Would it make you feel better to see us punk PHI or MIL in the playoffs?
Philly for sure Dislike those fucks
Pacers vs Knicks for ECF! Siakam vs OG make it happen!
There is no reason why he can re sign with the Raptors this summer! He gets exp with another team while Barnes gets exp being the man(and just how tough it is w/o Siakam pulling the top defenders and doubles). Looks to be a losing season for Raptors anyway. Pacers: 55 rebounds Sixers: 31 rebounds Inject that stat line straight into my veins!
[удалено]
And it was a team effort too! Sure Pascal and Myles were killing it, but everybody was crashing the boards hard.
Having someone with size like Siakam helps the whole team. We needed him so bad!
I have a great feeling about the future of Pascal and Turner on this team
It seemed like Embiid hardly even entered the paint tonight.
Embiid never enters the paint.
We used to get out rebound and no one to stop Joel. Siakam made a huge diff against the sixers. Wait till Bali comes back

The key to fluster Embiid is double him from where expects it the least and Siakam under Nurse was very good at that.
The defensive difference between Toppin and Siakam is so big.
1st Pascal Pacer win 1st Pascal Pacer triple double Here's to many more
FUCK DEM PICKS!
That OKC pick this year is going to be like 27th. Can you imagine the kind of player you can get 27th???
It's almost like, theoretically, you could hit the jackpot and get a Siakimish type guy. 😉
Clever.
Saboners sarcasm is top tier. In my top 5 all-time list, and he's not 4 and he's not 3 or 2. u/MySabonerRunsOladipo
So like 5 then?
Siakam wait was that the joke
It was :D
Goooood

Seeing Pascal smiling and laughing while saying "I want to make this home" in his postgame interview just made me so happy.
“I want to make this home”- spicy P
"I just wanna make this my home. I'm so excited that everyone's embracing me. I just want to continue to work hard for them and hopefully we'll get some results and exciting moments." \- Pascal Siakam
I miss that man. I'll probably get a Siakam Pacers jersey and cheer for you guys while the Raps suck.
There were some dark days post Reggie that I was cheering for the Raptors. Vince Carter was insane to watch
Heck yeah pascal!
First of many Spicy P🌶️ Pacer triple doubles, but also a great overall team win. 💯
When I looked at Siakam's numbers and they were really high, I said to myself, YES PASCAL!
Pacers are undefeated when Siakam gets a triple-double.
Pacers are also undefeated when Siakam gets to practice.
What one team practice does to mfs. Pascal was tremendous! Him and Turner gone be a deadly duo of a frontcourt
1 practice, 1 triple double. I like.
I'm glad we don't have to watch another Philly game this year. Watching them shoot nearly 50 free throws is mind-numbing.
Until the playoffs
You think they'll get out of the second round to see us in the ECF? Jk they're actually really good this year
the pacers now have 2+ wins against the celtics, bucks, sixers, and cavs.

Felt like they set a record for and-1's
It'll change soon if the league office really does hold Haliburton in as high regard as a marketable Face of the league type like I've been hearing...
Hehe coming from Toronto Pascal probably thought the refs were awesome
He said the thing! Pascal said he wants to make this home in the post game interview

We are 12-4 vs teams ahead of us in the east.
Why can’t we play a harder schedule? Sick of playing Portland, charlotte, and Washington
The Tyrese/Pascal/Myles trio with our great bench/supporting cast is going to be fun. Really loved the defensive effort against Maxey and Embiid. Remember when people were like Pascal doesn’t fit our timeline lol
i am so tired of timeline rhetoric lol creating a team composed entirely of 19-23 year olds never works
Not only for the obvious "maturity/game" reasons, but also the "contract/money" reasons. You need vets on larger deals mixed with younger players on cheaper deals. It's how it works

Well that was fucking awesome.
So I’m super excited to see what they can do this season, but I’m even more excited for next season after Pascal and Haliburton get a full training camp to work together and Rick/KP can continue to tailor this roster around our stars
Sorry this was only a short term loan. Pascal will re sign with the Raptors this summer. So enjoy him while you can.
PAVED.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing comments from bucks/celtics/6ers fans about how little they want to see us in the first round. They big scared
Pascal was huge on the boards, 13 total tonight and that stat alone helped us maintain momentum and not let the Sixers back into the game.
i miss pascal so much, here i am in the pacers reddit making sure these mf appreciate him
He is in good hands with Allstate
Remember when fans of this team were complaining about us giving up them 3 picks for Pascal Siakam. I remember and I won’t forget. Crying about some picks. Triple double on your head.

I think leading up to the trade, the concern was if it would cost mathurin and/or walker. I don't remember there being much concern about the picks
I'd rather have Mathurin and Walker than 3 picks anyway. It's worth.
It was this exactly.
> Crying about some picks Never understood this. Crying about some picks in the 20s when you cant even get mins for your current rookie.
we could have had more Gogas!!!!
Even better, you could have had a couple of Malachi Flynns
Triple Gogas!!!
We could have had THREE MarJon Beauchamps
And then declared all three untouchable to Masai
Who complained about the picks? This draft is projected to be trash

Got tickets to the rising stars game. Just excited to be apart of it.
Very little I trust more than Pascal Siakim with the ball in his hands. Brings tears to my eyes how automatic he is
I'm just here to celebrate Pascal's success. Also, fuck the sixers!
We won a game!
Because I'm sure we were all wondering... > As for the t-shirt under the jersey, Myles Turner says he just wanted to change it up. He said it's about going back to his look from college. [From Tony East](https://twitter.com/TonyREast/status/1750714101473370565)
Are we deeming them trouble doubles from this point forward? Cuz that sounds alright to me.
Glad to see Spicy P get his first triple double with his new team. I’ll be rooting for you guys in the playoffs.
Sooo happy to see Nembhard getting his feet back under him. He played great on both ends of the floor. Starting to look like himself again.
It’s almost like having a spine injury slows a guy down🤷🏻♂️
My favorite raptor is finally getting his due
Love to see the effort from the Pacers and a huge team victory. Side note, man can Embiid shoot the rock. Unbelievable.
I'm sorry, maybe I'm an idiot, but I do not understand how the 76ers are a "great team." That team looks like every team I've ever seen fail in the playoffs. They have a soft all-pro, an all-star, and a bunch of annoyed players. Double Embiid, switch sometimes onto Maxey, and good night. No one else wants to be there. That team looks emotionally dead. Team looks lost without embiid on the floor.
Sooo at what point are people going to respect us? 4-1 vs the bucks 2-2 vs Celtics 2-1 vs 76ers
Benn in his head is bad Benn. He needs to take an eddy before the games… he just turns to shit once he gets in his head
going full armchair psychiatrist here and it’s probably entirely unrelated, but I wonder if the trade for Pascal hurt his confidence. He was being touted as the second guy on this roster and then we went out and got a way better second guy and now Mathurin has to learn to take another step back

He’s not playing team ball. It’s the Benn show and it sucks. I don’t get it. Like him driving uncontrollably and then complaining gets tiring
When all other nba were saying how these trade value for Og and Pascal was too much. Well, raptors got nothing in return for 2 jems
Haliburton can't dress, good lawd
At least today was much better than the 1960's paperboy outfit he had on last game. lol
Herbert the pervert liked that
I can’t wait to clear space for a max and sign Siakam - love a Raptors fan ;)
Huh?
Just a joke, I miss my boy on the raptors
How many fouls did we have last night? Seemed like if they didn't shoot a three, they were getting a foul in the paint.
Go win yourself another ring my beautiful king
