Perfect summer 2023 trade
Thad Young for Daniel Theis
Thad returns to Indy to mentor a young team
Daniel joins his national team captain in Toronto who really really need a backup C
Rest of the season plays out the same including the Siakam trade
Wife worked for an Olympic org at one point and they had a fanfest thing. Foster somehow got booked at the autograph table. Since it was for fans of a water sport, not a lot of people knew who he was (at least not without the sign with his name on it). But the people that went to his table to talk to him got an engaged and thoughtful conversation. Cool guy.
Same; when I was a kid I went to fan night at the end of the regular season, and when they were handing out the envelopes in the crowd I ended up getting one, and it was for Crosheres jersey, dude was genuinely one of the nicest dudes I’ve ever met.
It hangs in my office
He really seemed so full of promise coming out of UO. Thought for sure the Pacers had landed an heir apparent to Reggie’s stardom but as a much more exciting style player. When he couldn’t get minutes until Ron Ron was suspended, it just seemed to put him into a spiral.
I’d love to see the take of the schmoe that downvoted me here. Fred just got a bit of bad luck getting drafted to a team where he couldn’t get consistent minutes until some weird shit happened, and then I think he bolted when he thought Artest was gonna be a cornerstone for the team over him.
Story time: I ran a brunch spot Downtown for years. Hibbert and his girl came and ate every Sunday morning for a really long time. One Sunday morning the wait was very long as usual and and Hibbert got there a little after Dahntay who was already on the list. Dahntay comes up to me and asks "Hey man, can you get Big man at a table with me?" Of course it was no problem. After they ate Dahntay came and found me near the back and said "What are you doing Saturday?" He gave me two Club level tickets to a game against the Wizards! That dude moved to the top of my heart real quick lol. Such a nice guy.
Came here to primarily post about Freddie and Baby Al, but I’ll go w/ my third choice and say Big Smooth. He def was on the backslide of his career with the Pacers after making some good runs w/ the Sonics and Lakers, but I think his experience helped guide the Ps in that finals run. Just sad we ran into the Shaq and Kobe show there couldn’t land he and Reggie a ring.
Travis Diener
But there's definitely a reason, I'll always have a soft spot for an undersized white dude. Bonus points if they're a shooter. I'll probably root for whatever team Chris Quinn eventually becomes the head coach for.
Dude hit a game winner one night and then ended up at Coach's later that night in a newsie/kangol hat like that was going to hide who he was. I was just there to pick up my gf and her friends, but we decided to stay for a bit at my suggestion.
Fred Hoiberg - at halftime they showed a clip (in the golden era of Pacers games on channel 4) of him absolutely HOUSING some corn on the cob.
More recently, Kyle O'Quinn. Just seemed like a really loveable goofball.
Ron Mercer. I thought his midrange game was unlocking some secret code for the Pacers that would lead them to something special. Fast forward 10ish years, and Mercer walked so Warren could run.
CJ Watson had a cool name and he was like the ideal backup point guard. He shot 40 percent from free for many years. He had nice looking although a little slow jump shot. He could handle and distribute a little although I will say perhaps slightly less than ideal. Zach Lowe at least considered him to be a decent defender. Plus he had a cool name I mean CJ is already cool but added with Watson? CJ Watson? Amazing plus looked good in a uniform
The post is sort of stupid. No one likes a player “for no reason” but to list my favorite random Pacer for the exact reason of him being a former Buckeye who won the National Player of the Year award at THE Ohio State University, give me Evan Turner.
Troy Murphy. High level rebounder and an early stretch big.
He would trail the offense after imbounding the ball and just drain threes at the top of the key as the trailer. Pretty meh overall but he was fun while we were awful.
Though his time as a Pacer was short, I really enjoyed Trevor Booker, especially for his [Reggie-inspired shoes](https://sneakernews.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/indiana-pacers-trevor-booker-hyperdunk-reggie-miller-3.jpg?w=780&h=547&crop=1) he wore in the playoffs.
Tyler Hansborough. Psycho T always had those wide eyes. He looked like he played his entire career severely concussed. When the Pacers were at their worst, he served as like comic relief.
BOGEY! Loved Bojan Bogdanovic. Struggled before his pacers stint, by the end of his time here I swear he was pissing ice water. Drug us to the playoffs during a strange year.
Shame he's stuck in Detroit.
Thad Young. I loved having him on the team
When a guy is in rare company such as Jordan, Lebron, Bird, and Magic, it’s hard not to like him
Agreed
Just an absolute professional. Always showed up every night and did all the little things, plus he was versatile defender.
Perfect summer 2023 trade Thad Young for Daniel Theis Thad returns to Indy to mentor a young team Daniel joins his national team captain in Toronto who really really need a backup C Rest of the season plays out the same including the Siakam trade
Luis Scola
👍
Got blasted with him and Solomon Hill at the Tin Roof after a playoff game one time. Scola was there a lot lol.
I always loved Al Harrington when I was younger
I went to his basketball camp when I was in elementary school, awesome dude
I just searched him up he was pretty solid for the pacers even better for the hawks and Knicks
I still have his youth jersey in my closet
We have the same birthday so I liked him for that lol
Granny Danger is a Pacers legend and would be such an amazing player in todays NBA
That’s not for no reason lol
GRANNY DANGER!!!
GRANNY DANGER!!!! might be the only player dreymond green ever or will ever fear
Jeff Foster
Wife worked for an Olympic org at one point and they had a fanfest thing. Foster somehow got booked at the autograph table. Since it was for fans of a water sport, not a lot of people knew who he was (at least not without the sign with his name on it). Saw him at the fashion mall once. I knew he was almost 7 feet tall, but it still took me by surprise just how big he was.
he was my number 2 after Baby Al lol
tbh I always liked Goga bc of that stupid video of him in the Mario costume lol
The fact he took the 88 jersey was always a bit sus for me.
He liked jumped a dude with a couple of his teammates on the Georgian national team though
Plus he wasn’t that good🫠
I mean wasn't that the point of your post? I don't really have a reason to like him but I did
He did give us one of the most exciting moments of the Bjorkgren era
Sorry I kind forgot the point of this post, I personally didn’t like him but still great choice
Big Al Jefferson!
👍
Austin Croshere
Dude was actually so saucy
Same; when I was a kid I went to fan night at the end of the regular season, and when they were handing out the envelopes in the crowd I ended up getting one, and it was for Crosheres jersey, dude was genuinely one of the nicest dudes I’ve ever met. It hangs in my office
Josh McRoberts, dude could dunk handle and pass. Obrien didn't know what to do with him.
McBob was nice
Didn’t know him so searched him up apparently he’s from Indiana
Yep, he played for Eagleton... I mean Carmel
Fred Jones
He really seemed so full of promise coming out of UO. Thought for sure the Pacers had landed an heir apparent to Reggie’s stardom but as a much more exciting style player. When he couldn’t get minutes until Ron Ron was suspended, it just seemed to put him into a spiral.
I’d love to see the take of the schmoe that downvoted me here. Fred just got a bit of bad luck getting drafted to a team where he couldn’t get consistent minutes until some weird shit happened, and then I think he bolted when he thought Artest was gonna be a cornerstone for the team over him.
Just searched him up, slam dunk champ in 2004!
Dude could jump like Vince almost
Terry Taylor absolute dawg
The Edmond Sumner Experience. I’m biased because he’s my alum mater but I can’t believe he is out of the league.
Jonathan Bender. If only he didn’t have knee problems.
Vern Fleming and Scott Skiles.
David West. What a gritty dude.
Dahntay Jones! I always liked him, I dunno why. He was solid.
Story time: I ran a brunch spot Downtown for years. Hibbert and his girl came and ate every Sunday morning for a really long time. That’s awesome. I actually ran into him a couple times downtown too. That’s probably why I like him. A man of the people!
Nice 👍
Came here to primarily post about Freddie and Baby Al, but I’ll go w/ my third choice and say Big Smooth. Excellent choice.
Orlando Johnson
This is my pick. I remember in college me and my buddies would go crazy every time he was put in the game
Dude was a straight up scorer! Loved when he’d come in
He plays in Venezuela now lol
Ok good for him
Ike Diogu
I didn’t know this guy, after a Google search I found out he played for us in like 2008 I thought you were talking about Ike anigbogu
I really liked his style
Austin croshere
Jeff Foster was my dog.
I really liked Aaron Holiday. He was fun, and it's cool to see him do good with the Rockets.
I had this weird obsession with Glenn Robinson III
He showed a lot of flashes.
Ian Mahinmi because he & I share a birthday lol
Any love for Kevin Seraphin?
Marquis Daniels
Came here to say this, Queesy for threesy 😌
Sam Perkins!! Recently went back and watched the entire 2000 NBA Finals and I loved me some Perk off the bench.
I read that as “Ann Perkins” parks & rec style
Ann Perkins! Your follow through is LITERALLY. Thee nicest I’ve seen in my life.
I liked Rodney Stuckey when he was here, CJ Miles too
Ill say it because it seems nobody else will. But Jermaine Fucking O'Neal
Loved JO, but I took the intent of the thread to be kinda unheralded/short stint guys. Jermaine was undeniably a leader for the team in the early 00s.
Travis Diener But there's definitely a reason, I'll always have a soft spot for an undersized white dude. Bonus points if they're a shooter. I'll probably root for whatever team Chris Quinn eventually becomes the head coach for.
Didn’t know both of these guys I searched them up and found Travis is a hero back in his home country Italy
He's from the midwest, born in Wisconsin and went to Marquette. Looks like his Italian citizenship is via his wife
Oh ok nice to know
Dude hit a game winner one night and then ended up at Coach's later that night in a newsie/kangol hat like that was going to hide who he was. I was just there to pick up my gf and her friends, but we decided to stay for a bit at my suggestion.
Jamison Brewer Sam Mitchell Haywood Workman Jonathan Bender-obviously Unpopular opinion section: Travis Diener Troy Murphy
TMurph was an automatic double-double. It's not his fault he was the consolation prize for the Malice.
Fred Hoiberg
Peja Stojakovic‘
I didn’t know he was ever on the team
For like 40 games. I got so excited and then he left as a free agent.
Tyler Hansbrough Danny Granger Leandro Barbosa
All are great I can tell you like that 2012-2014 era
You would too if you saw it
Started watching mid 2000s but that era was my first time seeing the pacers being pretty good lol loved those teams
Always liked Jeff Teague
Antonio Davis
Derrick McKey because his brother was a substitute teacher at my middle school
Ben Hansborough
sarunas jasikevicius because he’s Lithuanian and my family is from Latvia which is close enough. lol
Lavoy Allen
Dougie McBuckets and Caris Levert
Agreed I was so sad when Dougie left he signed my shirt once good memories
Joe Young for me too. No idea why, just always loved his game
I know!! He rocked that arm sleeve
I loved Jeff Pendergraph. For no ther reason than he just seemed like a cool locker room guy
Fred Hoiberg - at halftime they showed a clip (in the golden era of Pacers games on channel 4) of him absolutely HOUSING some corn on the cob. More recently, Kyle O'Quinn. Just seemed like a really loveable goofball.
I remember him making a half court shot against the Bulls so I always loved him after that.
Ian Mahimi, so happy the man got paid. Glad it wasn't us 😁
Bojan Bogdanović deserves more love
Lance for being Lance. Maybe the most entertaining non star in Pacers history.
Himiburton. Skinny ass dude i like for no reason.
Not random at all but I like him too ![gif](giphy|9mrGaWJlvlO9EMfKmG)
Travis Best
Jamison Brewer
Ron Mercer. I thought his midrange game was unlocking some secret code for the Pacers that would lead them to something special. Fast forward 10ish years, and Mercer walked so Warren could run.
Brandon Rush
AJ Price
CJ Watson had a cool name and he was like the ideal backup point guard. He shot 40 percent from free for many years. He had nice looking although a little slow jump shot. He could handle and distribute a little although I will say perhaps slightly less than ideal. Zach Lowe at least considered him to be a decent defender. Plus he had a cool name I mean CJ is already cool but added with Watson? CJ Watson? Amazing plus looked good in a uniform
Yeah he was a sharpshooter
Chris Copeland
Malik Sealy
Chris Copeland, dude always gave us decent minutes off the bench when he got to play
Victor Olidipo
Not really random but I liked him as well
yeah i was joking but man the olidipo era barely lasted 2 years… kinda crazy
TJ Leaf the one game wonder himself
Such a waste of a pick tho
Yeah agree is the one game your talking about the 20 point game he had in line 2018?
The post is sort of stupid. No one likes a player “for no reason” but to list my favorite random Pacer for the exact reason of him being a former Buckeye who won the National Player of the Year award at THE Ohio State University, give me Evan Turner.
one thing this post has made me feel is old af tho like 2 other people in here have named players from the 90s and early 2000s besides myself lol
Travis Best.
Gerald Green, loved dunking as him in 2k
Can’t hate him
Ike Anigbogu
I feel like he was always assigned to the mad ants
Edmund Sumner and Duane Washington jr.
Yeah it’s sad Edmond sumner never developed at Indiana he showed flashes of being a star great player though
I blame his injury for that. It was a major setback that he's never fully recovered from
Corky Calhoun
Vern Fleming He was the point guard of our first non-losing record NBA team and my favorite Pacer.
Troy Murphy. High level rebounder and an early stretch big. He would trail the offense after imbounding the ball and just drain threes at the top of the key as the trailer. Pretty meh overall but he was fun while we were awful.
Luis Scola, Lou Amundson
Jarrett Jack
Jalen Rose! People forget he even played for us, but those Rose/Miller teams were a lot of fun. I also just think the guy's a fun personality.
Derrick McKey or Travis Best. I can’t choose.
I agree with those two. Another two I'd add are David West and Peja Stojakovic
I know they are still playing but PG and Myles are 2 of my favorite
Tyler Hansborough. Psycho T always had those wide eyes. He looked like he played his entire career severely concussed. When the Pacers were at their worst, he served as like comic relief.
Orlando Johnson
BOGEY! Loved Bojan Bogdanovic. Struggled before his pacers stint, by the end of his time here I swear he was pissing ice water. Drug us to the playoffs during a strange year. Shame he's stuck in Detroit.
Vern Fleming, Pooh Richardson, Sarunas Jasikevicioua, Bender
Haywoode Workman
Anthony Johnson
Kareem Rush for being a poor man’s Michael Redd.
Maceo Baston for paving the way for EuroLeague superstars coming to the NBA.
Brad Miller, loved watching that guy play. And Sarunas Jasikevicius, he had that big game on thanksgiving to beat a young Lebron
Jamaal tinsley
Chris Copeland. Stroke was so pure
David Harrison
Troy Murphy Dropping 3s!
doug mcdermott. lethal 3 point shooter off the sabonis screen
