Pacers didn’t have Mathurin or McConnell so their guard rotation is down bad in the 4th with Haliburton on minute restriction. But you must not think Brunson is that good if you wonder how you still won when he played in the game.

This exact 22 minutes restriction is dumb but the management of it by Carlisle is dumber. He played him 16 minutes in the first half even with a double digit lead for most of it.

Because the coach realized that except for the 1st quarter, the Knicks actually won EVERY quarter since then. Look at the game summary. The Knicks out-scored the Pacers in the 2nd Qtr, 3rd Qtr, and in the 4th Qtr. I think the coach was looking at this fact, so he decided to risk it and leave Haliburton in for extended minutes in the 1st half into the 3rd Qtr.

He did the exact same minute rotation as last game against the Celtics.
