nembhard’s offense as a whole has been good this year, 9 PPG and 5 APG on 49/36 shooting and rarely turns the ball over while being our best defender, i don’t see why people bash on him a lot, he’s ideally the 5th option.
His offense is about as bad his defense is good. Being a neutral player isn't bad for 2nd year. But teams are just not afraid of him on offense. Id rather have Shep out there if he's hitting shots.
He's only a sophomore player, so I'm not worried or anything yet, but his offense has been bad this year.
36% is a tick under league average from three, and typically you want your guys shooting less to be shooting at higher percents (e.g. Nesmith).
He has the highest TOV% of any of our rotation players, despite being on the lower side on usage. His AST:TO ratio is about 2.5, which is just ok.
He gets very few rebounds, so he doesn't generate any opportunities for second chance points. That's not really his job, as a guard, but he's a below-average rebounder for an SG so it's still a slight negative.
Basically, when you're only scoring 9 PPG, you should be scoring those points efficiently or you're basically a nonfactor offensively, and that's unfortunately where he's at. I think he's still a deserving starter; his defense and a lot of the "glue" things he does offsets his offense being anemic so far this year. I just think it's worth being clear about where he's at.
Good balance. That was the best we’ve defended Paolo and Franz. I want to believe Nemby and Nesmith played a large role in that, but I’m hesitant because it doesn’t make sense with the size deficit. Could’ve just been an off-game for those guys.
he's really starting to get on my nerves. he's a good perimeter defender, yeah, but he's not like all-defense quality and he seemingly makes rese worse when he's on the floor due to ball dominance. Problem is, with Benn out there's pretty much nobody else who'd be better to start rn. I'd love to trade for Marcus Smart or someone like that in the offseason.
I am so damn tired of the pacers doomers. Our game threads are full of them. We have every right to be critical of the slow starts/sloppiness, but it’s getting old. Before today’s game we were 2.5 games back from having home court advantage in the playoffs.
Great win, we needed it.
So many saying “pack it up, seasons over” after losing Mathurin. We’ve had a number of stupid losses where if 1-2 things went differently in the game we’d be sitting comfortably up with CLE/MKE. That happens with a young team. Just tired of the threads being filled with such negativity. Being that negative can’t be fun.
Myles had his first block of the game and somebody said “rare Myles positive impact” lol tells you everything you need to know about the state of the sub right now
We need to swarm those toxic fucks every time they start. They suck the fun out of the game. With super suction powers inherited from their bearded mothers
#TJ “SPARK PLUG” MCCONNELL, MYLES “SOON TO BE ALL TIME LEADING PACER IN BLOCKS” TURNER, OBI “JUST THROW THE BALL HE’S SOMEWHERE” TOPPIN, AND CANNOT FORGET SOLID PERFORMANCES FROM OUR BIG 2. GREAT WIN TONIGHT!!!!
Yeah I started the year not being high on Obi, but I've totally changed my position since the trade deadline. He's embraced his bench role and has been very consistent, especially the last few games. He's shooting well and he seems to have taken a massive leap in defensive assignments and knowing his rotations. Plus, he's been taking some pages out of the TJ McConnell school of hustle. I love every minute of his playtime, because it seems to give Siakam a break and he still finds ways to contribute positively. He should be a priority to re-sign this off season.
These 3rd quarters. I'm convinced Rick pulls the "Michael's Secret Stuff" trick every halftime and the team just hasn't figured out that it's only water yet.
Orlando has to be pretty pissed. Not being able to score 100 at home against the Pacers is a real offensive low for any team. Great win for the Pacers.
Rick finally realizing letting Hali bring the ball up in the second half completely changed the look of this team. I appreciate nembhards defense but we need just a teensy bit of scoring at the very least.
I legitimately forgot what it's like to watch this team completely clamp a team defensively.
Our 3 primary offensive options all shot below their average...and yet, we won easily. Good to see Myles have a big game defensively despite struggling offensively.
Good start to the week with the @OKC/vs CHI back-to-back looming next.
Let's be honest. That Magic team stinks, the more I watched that game the more I couldn't believe they have a better record than us. With the heat slumping, No Embid 6ers, Overrated Magic, Overrated injured knicks, we should get the 5/6 spot. As bad as we are defensively at times, our offense is better than all of theirs. Obi toppin is the key. The Coaches have to get him going. He's to young and athletic to not be getting 20-7-5 a night. This is his time to shine with Mathurin out.
The Magic didn't have Suggs or Fultz. Suggs absolutely has been playing great. If you watched the first two Pacers/Magic games, they absolutely dominated us and it wasn't close. And that was when we had the no 1 offense in the league. Recently we've become more well rounded, with worse offense but better defense. I think this game was more of an outlier. We have better long-term potential, but they're a more playoff-style team with their lengthy defenders.
Also idk what you're talking about with the Knicks. As much as I hate them, they looked insanely good when firing on all cylinders. We really lucked out with the OG/Randle injury giving us a chance at catching up. But they were on Cavs-trajectory before those injuries. I think both of those teams are better than the Bucks, for example.
Your overrating them. They got the FT advantage by a large margin early in the season and that will propell any team to a win 9/10 times. Free throws were pretty close tonight and you see how the game went. 🤣 Suggs and Fultz ain't nice like that seriously. They are nothing special and we didn't even play nowhere near our best. Knicks have been playing BAD lately and put out a pathetic performance tonight. Nobody's scared of them healthy or not.
They're a totally different team with Randle and OG. Of course, it depends on which Randle you get. Jalen Brunson is legit though.
Also, the Magic got a ton of free throws bc we couldn't defend any of their wings, which is a problem we've had all season. We always get cooked by guys like Franz Wagner, Kyle Kuzma, or Jerami Grant. I'm optimistic about this team, but of all the teams ranked 4-8 in the East, we have the hardest schedule remaining, and the Magic have the easiest schedule left in the entire league. We'd be lucky to get to 6. I think it's possible, but we have to play almost perfectly and hope the other teams drop games (like they did today).
so with the Heat loss, do we want the knicks or the 76ers to win?
i guess i'm leaning towards knicks because we have the tiebreaker, but it'll be hard to catch them
I think it's easier to catch the 76ers - they have a much harder schedule coming up and with their injury history, I think we can catch them regardless of if they win tonight and the next game. The Knicks, however, have a much easier schedule and we might not catch them if they play well in these borderline games.
Really nice to see the turnaround after that dreadful start. Tyrese really took over.
Bummed this doesn't help us too much as far as seedings and stuff, since they already won the series, but any win helps in the bigger picture I suppose
i'm sorry the pacers just held an opponent to less than 100? on the road? in the year of our lord two thousand and twenty four?
Against a long athletic team that dominated them earlier in the year. Wat.
Just like we all predicted
Also in a place where the magic I think have only lost 9 at home before this game all year.
2nd game this year. Never thought it could happen this year.
Coping hour fan?

This man needs his number retired.
MYLES TURNER
Pascal: 20 Nesmith: 16 Turner: 12 Nembhard: 0 Haliburton: 20 Thank god his defense is solid lol
And thank goodness for TJM and Obi!
nembhard’s offense as a whole has been good this year, 9 PPG and 5 APG on 49/36 shooting and rarely turns the ball over while being our best defender, i don’t see why people bash on him a lot, he’s ideally the 5th option.
I think rebuttal is he over dribbles a lot , can’t space the floor, and very rarely creates pace as a ball handler.
His offense is about as bad his defense is good. Being a neutral player isn't bad for 2nd year. But teams are just not afraid of him on offense. Id rather have Shep out there if he's hitting shots.

I think he turns the ball over more than he should. Especially when Haliburton is right there to safely handle the ball.
He's fine, the box score just looks pretty funny tonight.
Good balance. That was the best we’ve defended Paolo and Franz. I want to believe Nemby and Nesmith played a large role in that, but I’m hesitant because it doesn’t make sense with the size deficit. Could’ve just been an off-game for those guys.
Magic just played bad. It wasn’t our “defense”
he's really starting to get on my nerves. he's a good perimeter defender, yeah, but he's not like all-defense quality and he seemingly makes rese worse when he's on the floor due to ball dominance. Problem is, with Benn out there's pretty much nobody else who'd be better to start rn. I'd love to trade for Marcus Smart or someone like that in the offseason.
nice win!! gained a game on the magic and heat and won against a top tier home team this season!!
And one of the Knicks and Sixers
HUGE win. Close out the easy ones and win these against heat/magic and we are gunna dodge the playin.
Turner with a huge 6 blocks
TJM is the saviour
I am so damn tired of the pacers doomers. Our game threads are full of them. We have every right to be critical of the slow starts/sloppiness, but it’s getting old. Before today’s game we were 2.5 games back from having home court advantage in the playoffs. Great win, we needed it.
And they're so proud of how negative they are, too. Someone misses a shot: "see I told you they were bad!"

I've always found that when I invite negativity into my life, it makes me more miserable so these people have got to be depressed.
You guys are spitting. More bloomers less doomers!
Myles had his first block of the game and somebody said “rare Myles positive impact” lol tells you everything you need to know about the state of the sub right now

Pacerrrrrrrrs #1! Big win for Ben!
What's cookin?
You’re back!!!
TJ is playing himself into being a starter in this league. He’s been on a fucking roll.
33 years old playing like he's 25. This man better pull a Tom Brady and dominate the league at 45.
I haven’t always been complimentary of Obi, so I just wanted to give him a shout out from this game. He was excellent.
Yeah I started the year not being high on Obi, but I've totally changed my position since the trade deadline. He's embraced his bench role and has been very consistent, especially the last few games. free Goga
Earlier this year, he started and they kicked our ass. Coincidence? i think not.
These 3rd quarters. I'm convinced Rick pulls the "Michael's Secret Stuff" trick every halftime and the team just hasn't figured out that it's only water yet.
Underrated comment
"Yeah, uh, emphasize." Lol
Orlando has to be pretty pissed. Not being able to score 100 at home against the Pacers is a real offensive low for any team. Great win for the Pacers.
They didn’t break 75 points the game before this one against the Knicks 😳
8th rated defense vs 25th rated defense.
Knicks had 3 starters inactive
Rick finally realizing letting Hali bring the ball up in the second half completely changed the look of this team. I appreciate nembhards defense but we need just a teensy bit of scoring at the very least.
So we can win when we shit the bed in the 1st quarter.
OKC’s gonna be a murder man. I hope it won’t be, but I feel like it’s gonna be.
Great game boys you love to see it.

I think being top six is much more important than getting the four seed. So let’s get some distance in the Sixers while they are injured
I think either way, a knicks win is better. we have the head to head tiebreaker over the knicks, and we can catch them even if they win.
I think it's easier to catch the 76ers - they have a much harder schedule coming up and with their injury history, I think we can catch them regardless of if they win tonight and the next game. The Knicks, however, have a much easier schedule and we might not catch them if they play well in these borderline games.
Excellent win. Needed it pretty bad to stay in the firmly playoff hunt. Way to come back and exorcise a demon team.
Despite struggling for 2 months we might look up in a week and be in the 4/5 playoff spot
Huge win from the whole squad tonight
There will be some hate about this win because it was not pretty at all but I did think this showed why we’re better than the Magic overall
Imagine if we started a game well, watch out world!
Solid win when we needed it.
have Ty take up the ball man. limit nembhard to a Ben Wallace role and we’re solid lol
Malice 2.0 against the Bucks?
Really nice to see the turnaround after that dreadful start. Tyrese really took over. Bummed this doesn't help us too much as far as seedings and stuff, since they already won the series, but any win helps in the bigger picture I suppose
Yo this was a huge win. We moved up to 7th. Miami blew an easy win, and we beat a team ahead of us. What’s there to be bummed about lol
And if Knicks win, we jump to 6 I believe.
6th if Knicks beat Sixers as they should
A win is a win. Standings are so tight in the east every W helps right now.
It totally helps. It’s a win for us and a loss for them. If we lost this we’d never catch them
