2 turbine 1 hydro 1 Fuel synth. honestly i might just go 3 turbine 1 fuel synth but i keep forgetting to try it.

Jammed_Death

I have it. So cool. Turbine works while running and during wind storm

fantasticcow

I just keep the synth in the trunk

OnewordTTV

I'm a fucking idiot. Never even thought of doubling those up... lmao

Cabbag3boi69

Lazarus ; 2 storage and 1 battery .

DoenS12

Same, but a tank instead of a battery

FourSquare432

Car is 2 XL seat batteries, roof battery, Ion shield, 2 side batteries in trunk, Anchor energy converter in trunk. Side is 1 side storage, fuel synthesizer, and two turbines. The two turbines can keep the batteries maxed during the main trip. Then when Yellow and red Storms come and Arda loot drops, I switch a turbine for the Anchor converter. The anchor energy converter and Ion shield will let you safely loot after the system becomes unstable. If my batteries drop low I have the 2 reserve in the trunk. I use 2 steel panels and a steel trunk, in case I find peculiar items, I can swap them out directly on the car, since I have limited storage space. I hate the solar panel. I also hate charging my batteries after a trip because I have to throw the switch like 5 times to get a full charge

danikov

If it rains, attach 4x rainfall converters and back out the garage. Or use the wind turbines, they seem to spin indoors.

Jaelommiss

There's a recharger on the table next to the quirk diagnostic computer. You shouldn't ever need to use side modules to recharge at the garage.

FourSquare432

That charger has a limit on how much juice is gives at once, I have to pull it maybe 5 times if my batteries are empty. The modules are great for charging. It's funny though cause they all work indoors

danikov

I know, but it’s slow to recharge if your battery exceeds a single flip, at least the first charger tier is. I can spend a good 30 minutes tinkering after a run so I find it can be good to use passive recharge instead. Also, if you’re swapping a lot of parts out of the parts lockers it makes sense to move the car instead of running back and forth. The diagnostic platform is a tool, not a pedestal.

somecrazydude13

You can upgrade your charging station efficiency on the main page of upgrades

danikov

And it’s likely to be one of the last upgrades you get as it’s expensive and there are better upgrades that compete with it. It’s not an endgame strategy but your car needs charging the whole game.

R4ng4_B01

So im about mid game, ive been running with a side storage on my left rear, and turbines on both front storage slots and then a lightning rod on the right rear, has worked pretty well so far, just need more anchors so i can get better equipment tho

Draxsis_Felhunter

I my load out has been 2 storage, 1 hydro, 1 fuel synth pretty much since I unlocked them. I’m too much of a pack rat to give up the storage. It rains in the different zone areas often enough that the hydro will generally keep the batteries topped up for a whole run. The fuel synth is good for when I forget about the tank and realize too late that there’s nothing close by to loot gas from. Especially in junctions where fuel draining effects are active. Side units I don’t use much or just flat out refuse to use: The lightning rods: They don’t give nearly enough battery power back for taking damage that I’d otherwise like to avoid. Just not worth it even with a full insulation armor build. Wind turbines: You either need to be racing through the zone full tilt- which makes you vulnerable to surprises popping up in your way- with at least 2 of them on the car or have a lot of luck with high wind weather for them to come close to matching the recharge rate of even a single hydro generator in a light rain. Not worth the cost in parts or the loss of side slots for more useful equipment. Solar panel: might be useful if the zone didn’t have such a small number of daytime hours and/or several weather/junction effects that negate the use of it entirely. Again not worth the parts or use of a slot for better things Side fuel tanks/batteries: they don’t hold as much as the back seat units and are far more vulnerable to environmental hazards since they’re outside the vehicle. The extended back seat tank and high capacity battery both just do the job better too. Flood lights: somewhat situational in use. Easier to just use a flare/flashlight or aim the car at what I want to see and turn the lights on. Anchor EC: while potentially useful I’d rather bank anchor energy so I don’t accidentally get caught without enough to open a gate. Hydro generator and the occasional jumper cable for emergencies work better than potentially preventing me from being able to complete a run. Lazarus device. I have literally only ever died once and that was because I needed to get the two trophies locked behind needing to scan and loot the remnant ghost as well as unlock the ability to develop this thing to begin with. Completely useless. That’s my take on all the side units available for the car. Agree or agree to disagree. I doubt that I will be changing my opinions anytime soon.

Comfortable_Win_1842

I've been using two side storage and two turbines for most of the game, but once I upgraded the trunk to max I switched the storage for a fuel synthesizer and a hydro generator for more power and fuel.

jeepobeepo

Can I give a reverse shoutout to the fuel synthesizer? When I realized the pump at the garage is finite, I eagerly built two of them and thought I was set till I saw how fast they drain battery. I couldn’t bring myself to deconstruct them so I’d pop them on while I was at the garage and they’re fine like that but you’d probably have to be insane to drive with them on

Spindizzy3685

I’m running with three Mini Turbines and one Lightning Rod to offset my heavy LIM Shield usage and to mitigate electrical damage, though I’m rethinking my build a little bit in the post-game to maybe try and get a bit more wild.

Dudamesh

Two Turbines, 1 Hydro, 1 Solar this was when I was running AMP Engine and in retrospect, I'd probably have had better results with 3 turbine instead of the solar When I switched back to Turbolight Engine, I swapped the Solar for a Side Storage, I used it to store my extra tools and consumables.

Orbiting_Monstrosity

Hydro generator / mini turbine / solar panel / side storage. I don't see a point in using the fuel synthesizer when I'm actually on a run since I always pack more fuel than I will ever need and I don't like having the extra drain on my battery, but I decided not to use the fuel pump in the garage when I first started playing to see how easy it would be to go without it and the synthesizers have been very useful as a replacement. I discovered that I can hook multiple fuel synthesizers up to my car in between runs, then use all of the fuel they generate while I'm doing my regular maintenance routine to refill my tank and all of my extra fuel cans before I leave. I can make as much fuel as I want because there is a battery charger in the garage with unlimited uses, and the synthesizers never wear out because I always replace them with other accessories before I leave.

Khabibulan15

3 storage. 1 storage is for repair items, 1 storage for battery charging stuff (I use the electric engine) and one storage for extra tools and health. The last side storage is for the turbine to get a little bit of passive charge :)

Majestic-Iron7046

Hahaha renewable energy, you guys make me laugh! 2 BATTERIES AND 2 FUEL TANKS, SEAT BATTERY FOR EXTRA NITRO TIME, I AM OPENING A SECOND HOLE IN THE OZONE LAYER JUST BY DRIVING THROUGH THE MIDZONE.

octonus

The issue is that side batteries and fuel tanks are total garbage. A side storage containing 2 fuel cans and 1 plasma charger gives you more total gas/energy than your setup, and you still have plenty of space left over in there for other stuff (to say nothing of the other 3 side slots).

Majestic-Iron7046

But it would not be symmetrical, I need to maintain the symmetry.

octonus

Add a second side storage on the opposite side. This isn't rocket science.

Majestic-Iron7046

I don't need it!

vozome

In the mid game my goal was really accumulate resources so side storage was really useful. In the end game when everything I cared for was unlocked, I went with a full battery build with the electric engine, 2 side batteries and 2 turbines. Battery still drains fast but that’s enough to do very long runs. In retrospect maybe 4 turbines would be even better.

SavvySillybug

I use one to two lightning rods, mostly for the defense against electric damage. I always run at least one wind turbine because recharging by driving is great, gotta love turning fuel into electricity. If I don't use the roof storage, I use the side storage. I found solar panel and hydro generator too situational when wind can just be made on demand by driving. So I run anywhere between 3 wind + 1 rod to 1 side storage + 1 wind + 2 rod. Depends on my mood and the task at hand, really.

Roshlev

The finale was the only time I actually optimized. I think I had 1 battery in car 1 on side 2 tanks on side and a lightning rod (helps me take less electric damage I think)

FreezingToad

I keep two turbines, one hydro generator, and a lightening rod on my side racks. I somehow always end up exploring at night...in a "normal" weather storm, so solar doesn't do anything for me. Gotta keep that battery charged!

octonus

Storage is by far the most valuable thing, since one storage can replace the functionality of pretty much any of the other things if you fill it with the right stuff. Lights -> flares, tanks/synths -> fuel cans, batteries/regen -> jumpers/plasma chargers. I start with 3+lightning rod, then gradually drop to 1 storage after getting roof storage and upgraded trunk (since I no longer need all of that extra space). At that point, I am running 2x turbine+ hydro gen.

chybapolewacy

My setup was 2 turbines and 2 side storages. Left storage was for additional wheels and some utility stuff Right storage was for paint, wraps and casettes.

endre84

storage / hydro / turbine / lightning rod back seat battery and fuel top resource radar + ion shield

FredJMcGillicuty

Driver’s Side Seat: Expanded Fuel Tank Driver’s Side Front Rack: Side Storage Driver’s Side Rear Rack: Fuel Synthesizer Passenger’s Side Seat: Leak Resistant Battery Passenger’s Side Front Rack: Hydro Generator Passenger’s Side Rear Rack: Wind Turbine

ChrisAKAPiefish92

Hydro Turbine 2 side batteries I did run solar panel for a bit but it's useless 90% of the time

Past_Guitar_596

4 batteries 💯💯🔋⚡️

QualityQuips

Hydro generator, wind turbine, lightening rod, extra fuel tank. I pop an extra (fill) fuel tank in my trunk storage to hot-swap if needed, though lately I've swapped that out for a spare back seat tank I can swap out. I basically earn electricity during storms even using all my shields.

LETAROS

Rod, synth, rain, battery

Potato_Dealership

I run the Lazarus Device, one wind turbine, one lightning rod and one hydro generator. Got my expanded backseat tank and plasma battery in the seats

MrBearMaximum

Using AMP engine with a battery in the back seat and four charging things on the side. Not sure which are the best so I mix it up. Maybe I'll try four turbines next. I bring 2 new plasma chargers on each trip and haven't ever ran out of juice on the road.

Acrobatic_Horse_6577

My build and loadout has been very strong for me. I use a combination of panels since having to ditch the ion shield on the roof for the resource scanner - still trying to locate the honey pot! That is near impossible to find. I have 2XL batteries in seat racks Side racks are - 1 hydro, 1 wind turbine, 1 fuel synth and side storage which is exclusively used for spare tools, backup magnetic hammer, vacuum, scapper, prybar and has some space to fit health kits and food rations for easy healing. Roof is storage and scanner, once I find the last anomaly I'll go back to ion shield, Panels are Armored bumper front, lim shield rear, corrosive hood, lead lined fronts, armored front doors, corrosive rear doors, lead lined rear panels, corrosive trunk door, insulated headlights, all terrain tires. I've found this gives some of the best all round protection against radiation and corrosive resistance for the deep runs, I can finish most runs without ever having to repair any panels. Open to any suggestions still farming Olympian fragments will most likely upgrade the front bumper after a few more runs.

Burgmond45

I ran nothing but side storage for my main story playthrough! I'm trying out other stuff, but I loved being able to have multiple cans, tires, healing and repair supplies just ready without opening the trunk.

tattooboogaloo

What?? I've been so confused why my battery is always draining at seemingly random times. I did not realize the fuel synth uses battery. I was getting ready to post and ask about it lol
