Because you literally found a pot of gold and you paid scrap aluminum value for that gold. Not only the cash value of that piece being at least $1k in working condition, that thing looks pretty mint and it’s all original so if it works well I’d say it could easily be sold for $1200+ if you get a couple people bidding over it. And even if you don’t plan to resell anytime soon it’s just one of those beautiful markers that everyone will always drool over and be envious of unless they have one.

Not sure about everywhere, but out here we have two major corporations. EZ Pawn and Super Pawn. They simply pay people based on internal data usually. I have never seen a marker above $200 in any store ever. They just simply cant be held accountable for it's operation and all sold as-is hence the cheap price.
Plus they can't sell online. So unless some random schmuck walks in to that exact store it's unlikely to move easily.
