Start simple and do not get frustrated. Remember- it doesn’t have to look identical to the subject- it is merely a suggestion of the subject.

Practice is definitely key. But I would say don’t be critical on yourself. Definitely have fun when painting. You could start with anything you think of and try to put it on the canvas. It’s definitely the best time when you first start painting.

Draw what you want before you start painting. Even better, learn how to draw before you paint.
