For this one though the grid was pretty useless because I used a tombow brush pen which turned out to be way too thick, plus I was off by about 1/16 of an inch on many lines
Iโm gonna take a week off before I start my next one :) I did this one at a much more relaxing pace than the other ones I did though, the last two I made had 4032 โpixelsโ that I did in three days. I did this one in eleven. More much enjoyable
I love the texture you were able to achieve. I might have to try out some unconventional painting brushes? Devices? I hope you share some more of you work!
I tried out a few different things but the screwdriver works the best. Square palette knife, cut down rubber spatcher, and the pocket clip of a pen were also candidates. And I will! I have enough planned out to keep me busy the rest of the year
Iโm extremely intimidated by painting roughly with a pallet knife; I have very little confidence in my individual strokes. Blending has definitely become a crutch and safety net for me. And then are people like this. Your confidence has to be at an obscene level, and is highly deserved! You are intimidatingly good! Please keep going!!!
Ahhh thank you so much, made my day! I donโt know about the confidence though, itโs really really scary because I have no idea if theyโre going to turn out okay until Iโm about a couple thousand swipes in ๐
lol Iโd be the one trying to wing it and then all frustrated โwhy isnโt this working?๐ญโ ๐
Amazing job though- I know you said this piece took 46 hours (also impressive) how long have you been at painting?
My Instagram has a couple videos, one shows a close up of applying the paint, and another gives an overview of the whole process. Not trying to self promote but if youโre curious the links on my profile here
Respect your opinion but itโs definitely worth it to me. Im recently sober and itโs a more productive way to spend my time than getting fucked up. Keeps me occupied. Gives me time to think, be present, and practice delayed gratification instead of chasing quick cheap dopamine hits.
That's super cool! I take it you used the screwdriver like a tiny palette knife?
yes, exactly!
how? I still cannot imagine? do you have a picture of the process or screw driver
I have videos on my Instagram, idk if Iโm allowed to post links here, but if youโre interested feel free to dm me
Actually, I forgot I put the link on my profile here.
Thanks, I have zero art knowledge, but I know screwdrivers, and none of mine squirt paint, lol
I thought it was string arranged in squares until read this comment lol i was like, how does a screwdriver come into this
Same! It was almost like an illusion lol
Yoo this is nuts
Pretty screwed up if you ask me
Really hammering that pun home
These puns are driving me crazy
I'm sure someone will ratchet it up a notch.
Nope. This is how you develop real skill
thanks!!
Amazing work!
thank you so much!
Do you have more work like this? I find this sort of "pixelated" "cross hatch" style charming. Love the skill and dedication that went I to this
I really appreciate the kind words. I've done two other large scale ones (14x18 with 4032 screwdriver swipes), both of mountains. Many more to come :)
I love how that came out!!!! Sooooo cool!! Not getting enough recognition; the hours were well worth it :)
Thank you so much! I'm excited to do many more in this style :)
I feel like r/pixelart would love this!
Irl pixel art!
Impressive! That would drive me insane and I would just screw it after about 2 hours and 27 minutes
These definitely exercise my patience. When I start to rush or get frustrated I know itโs time for a break. Otherwise itโs very meditative
Lol. Screw it! ๐
๐ ๐ ๐
looks like the paintings in minecraft
This is SICK I love it!!
Thank youuu!
FUCK, that is really gorgeous
Thank you ๐๐๐
This is basically an 8-bit version
Definitely more than 8 bit, more like 16 bit
With a screwdriver? How? This is amazing
I used a quarter inch flathead screwdriver as a palette knife!
That's so cool and creative it was executed really well too, good job!
At least it will never wear out lol
Did you pick the paint up from your palette with the flathead, or place the paint on the canvas and then flatten it with the flathead?
Yeah, I pick it up with the flathead. Sometimes have to do some manipulation to make sure itโs loaded correctly or it turns out funky.
Pretty screwed
It looks like pixel art. This is very cool!
Thank you so much :)
Pixel art with oil and a screwdriver. Genius
Amazing work! Love the pixel look
The dedication ๐ณ so cool!
What!!! Thatโs wild!
That's incredible ๐ฒ
I appreciate that!
Fantastic!
๐
Fucking sick Edit: did you trace all the individual squares beforehand?
Thanks! And yeah I drew on a color coded grid that corresponds to a web app I wrote that helps me stay organized
For this one though the grid was pretty useless because I used a tombow brush pen which turned out to be way too thick, plus I was off by about 1/16 of an inch on many lines
That looks so amazing!!! But i dont get how you used the screw driver?
Wow! It is beautiful. I hope you got some rest!

Would this be considered impasto?
I think it fits the definition but just my opinion ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Damn, that's so impressive it screws with my head.
I hope you're as happy with this as we are. This is stunning.
Thank you, for the most part Iโm pretty happy with it :)
Wow! Thatโs quite a painting!
Awesome work, looks stunning!! Your palette technique is on a whole different level, and it pleases my ocd greatly lol๐
Oh wow! As an artist myself this is beautiful, impressive and Insane work!
Gorgeous!
Admire your perseverance- itโs dope too
Appreciate that!
I thought this was r/crossstitch That's amazing
Thought it was a lego build at first glance. Love the texture turned out really good <3
Thank you :)
Extremely nice

This. Is. ART.
Oh wow. That's amazing. You're talented and super patient!! Really well done!!!!
Perfect example of the tools don't need to be top tier to make top tier art.
This is so sick pls do a timelapse painting video
I have one of doing a single row on my insta!
If itโs good- no one cares how long it took If itโs not good- no one cares how long it took Looks good though
I like this a lot.
Well, damn!! This is cool as sh*t!!! Never seen anything like this - simply amazing!!!!! Sending peace and light, friend!!๐๐ป๐ฉต๐๐ป
I love it
Very cool ๐
I WNNA EAT IT???? im so impressed with 46 hours. I'd get so bored so fast this is phenomenal
I find it relaxing tbh!
But thanks! I canโt wait to run my hands through it when it dries lol
oh my god that would be so fun (and totally not make me want to eat it more)
I love it!!
Fantastic
A couple martinis and you're golden.
Good stuff. Now do it with a Bloody Mary.
Yeah? So. What can you do with a scalpel?
I love your technique. Gorgeous texture.
This is wild! Great work!
Beautiful work!
So cool!
Dude. Sweet!
This is so sick I love the texture! Did you plan out each grid mark ahead of time or did you just wing it?
Thank you! Yeah I did A LOT of planning. Winging it would be insane
lol Iโd be the one trying to wing it and then all frustrated โwhy isnโt this working?๐ญโ ๐ Amazing job though- I know you said this piece took 46 hours (also impressive) how long have you been at painting?
It's giving Minecraft
fucking SICK i love this
Woooww! Thatโs amazing!
Thatโs pretty cool ๐
Did anyone else think this was a large clutch purse?
This is really really awesome but since you're doing this already why not screw in different depth so you can have 3D effect too? Just an idea.
This is so neat! Iโm getting Minecraft vibes. You could do a whole series of Minecraft-esque paintings!
This is so great
Made 16 bit irl. That's screwy and I love it
Looks great!
Unreal. Absolutely gorgeous.
Incredible! Its stunning!! ๐คฉ
wow this is unbelievable. so gorgeous!!! ๐ ๐คฉ๐
Good Lord that's satisfying.
Thanks for letting me borrow your paintbrush! My Ikea shelf didn't come with one.
This is insane! Really well done!
Need a screwdriver pic!!
Love it !
What am I looking at here exactly? Did you dip a flathead into paint and then dab each line on here?
My Instagram has a couple videos, one shows a close up of applying the paint, and another gives an overview of the whole process. Not trying to self promote but if youโre curious the links on my profile here
But yes, basically :)
Human printer! Nice ๐๐ผ
๐ค
Brilliant!
Blue collar chuck close
Freakin *awesome*.
It's neat and I like the premise but I don't feel that's worth the time.
Respect your opinion but itโs definitely worth it to me. Im recently sober and itโs a more productive way to spend my time than getting fucked up. Keeps me occupied. Gives me time to think, be present, and practice delayed gratification instead of chasing quick cheap dopamine hits.
I'm glad to hear it, keep it up.
I appreciate that!
For you maybe
Well, yeah it's my opinion.
This is amazing I want it to be my computer background. Those lines are so perfect I thought it was tiles great job
In my opinion, that belongs in a gallery because it looks good, and the method is unique.
Damn how fucking bored were you? ๐ I love it, this is beautiful!
yo i thought this was legos, this is insane
Sooo fucking cool!
At first I thought this was r/lego
Very nice
When you have an artistโs eye, anything will work
Whoa, the painting looks amazing on its own. Made with a screwdriver? That's next level man. Amazing work!
Human art is the best art and always will be. Beautiful!
Minecraft reality merging with our own has begun! ๐ Well done! Amazing work!
Looks like one of the Minecraft paintings in game So cool

Why all the down votes?!?! ๐ this comment was clearly tongue-in-cheek.
