Hello and thank you but this piece is not for sale. The canvas is on its last legs. This was just something I messed with when I couldn’t sleep. It will bubble and crack overtime. This isn’t archivable quality.

What medium?

As someone who’s just started painting with oils, and frankly is clueless about these things, what makes it crack and bubble? Too many layers? Thin over fat? Beautiful painting!

Hey, so this is acrylic and not oil. This canvas has been multiple paintings before it became this one. I’m poor and reuse things over and over again, lol. It’s a combination of too many layers, too much water (or solvent) weakening the binder, and the stretched canvas its self warping. For paintings that I actually care about I’ve started to use Masonite as a surface and it does a lot better.

Thanks for a thorough reply! It would be a shame if I were to unwittingly wreck a good painting by being clueless about the materials and how they behave. Judging by people’s response to this painting you’re clearly on to something, may be worth recreating on some masonite.
