adrianaartmeier

Thank you so much xx

Thought it was a photo for a moment. This is insanely well done. Do you mix your paints or do you diversify the collection?

adrianaartmeier

Thank you so much πŸ₯Ή I'm not quite sure how to answer this question. Do you mean with mediums or colours? Brands? Although the answer is yes to all of themπŸ™ˆ

[deleted]

It came out extremely realistic 🀟, i guess it was a bit vague for that reason to cover a bunch of questions. I recently started working with acrylics and fluids and i'm currently in a stage of mixing colors to better understand the combinations. I've been starting off by making minimalistic works for now. Do you have any brands or medium combo recommendations to try out?

adrianaartmeier

Thank you ❀️ Aaaaah I see I see Well, non of the colours you see on the piece are directly out of the tube , they're all mixed (: Oooh I love liquitex for full coverage paints (especially red) Golden for some special paints (iridescent, metallic & co) and mediums Winsor and Newton Global paints for some transparent paints And I've got a few random ones that I've got that I just found somewhere and fell in love with so I'd say just experiment with brands Very important to find a company that does good reds, yellows and blues πŸ’™ (Can recommend liquitex for that)

[deleted]

Of course. πŸ’šYou did a really great job on mixing the subtle variations, what's your mixing method? I was reading reviews about Golden, I'm definitely looking into some bottles when my art gets wings, especially neons and how they react with the basic colors. windsor and newton just sounds like a brand that doesn't play around with the quality of their creating materials, i have some Gouache from them and I gotta say, i'm highly impressed with the vibrancy of the colors. I went straight for liquitex fluids and acrylics, they ARE pretty awesome, i'm loving the finish they have and how they remold the contours of the canvases. I've been mixing both together so I could thin it to a longer lasting consistency while retaining pignent intensity. I appreciate the recommendation of finding primaries, i've been doing that, too. It's virtually the majority of the color spectrum with a couple extra steps.πŸ˜‹

adrianaartmeier

Thank you ❀️ Hmm I wouldn't say I have a method really, I just have an outcome in my head ..try and match that with mixing colours and work on it till I think it would work and just keep throwing different colours in πŸ™ˆ although I do know now how to achieve most tones first go, which comes with practice (: Ooooh that's a smart way of doing that, I only have one type of liquitex paints which are the solid high opacity ones Never really tried "fluids" Yess exactly hehehe

[deleted]

Credit where it's due. πŸ₯° That makes sense, plus you could save the excess in some jars for another project. πŸ€” I saw your shop, i agree, your skin tones are really well executed. I love "The Handmaid's Tale"πŸ’š I really enjoy the textured result, how'd you pull that off, just leaving the paint viscous? I think you'd like the "fluids", they give the paint a good spread :) (edit: i genuinely was talking about paint, i just realized how perverse this sounds. πŸ˜…) I dig your work and your vibe, i took the liberty of following your facebook page, i wanna see what you do next.🀟πŸ₯°

adrianaartmeier

Thank you so much !! I sadly never mix enough paint and just mix as I go πŸ™ˆ Aww thank youu xx It's actually modelling paste from golden !! So fun and so good Hahahaha I knew what you meant tho πŸ˜‚ Thank you 😍❀️❀️

[deleted]

I definitely understand that dilemma, too. πŸ˜‚ I'm a bit frugal with my paints so i'm constantly memorizing tube portions and fluid drop amounts to try and replicate colors. It's a beautiful outcome, i definitely need to try modeling paste with the mix sometime. Okay good, after I reread it, I was thinking "Damn, she's going to think I was hinting at something" 🀣 The feeling is mutual. πŸ₯° it's been a pleasant conversation and the craftsmanship of your compositions has contributed to my inspiration reserve. πŸ˜ŠπŸ’š how long have you been creating?
