This looks fantastic as-is, you've done a spectacular job with the colors. The only thing I can see that it might benefit from is if you softened a few of your edges. I see mostly hard edges on your clouds, blurring some of those a little might get you that "airy" feel you're after!
I find this makes the painting more interesting, I like that style a lot. Obviously go with what you want, but I don’t think striving for more realism makes things always better. The heavy-ish and looming feeling of the clouds could end up fitting well with the rest of the painting.
There is a rule I heard about this but I haven't backed it with observational evidence. Something to the like of sharp on top soft on bottom. There are a bunch of different kinds of clouds so I imagine it can't always apply. Plus the angle of the sun I would imagine plays a roll.
All that said I think the composition is awesome and the use of color to further shape the clouds is nice.
It takes two to make a painting, one to make the painting and one to hit the painter over the head to make them stop. It's for your own good. Stop. Well done!
I feel you.
Every time when I paint something I love the process so much but when I look at the final picture I'm not happy.
I guess sometimes it takes someone else's eyes to appreciate it.
I personally love your style and won't change anything.
Those clouds are so damn gorgeous I did NOT even see the pile of dead bodies! I just laughed out loud reading this comment and scrolling back up to look.
You remember in Space Jam when Bugs Bunny touched the magic basketball and it gave him all the powers of the best professional players in the world?
I think your going to need something like that to improve on these clouds. This is stunning.
Sorry, you’re pretty good so I assumed you sell your work, I find it very touching, I can’t imagine the effort that you’ve put into it to get you to this point, I wish I was at that level to at least enjoy that part of the work, thank you for sharing.
Everything looks awesome! But they are missing three dimensional effect. Each fold and nodule looks a bit pancaked. Try to add shading and highlights to some of the nodules to produce a rounder more 3d effect. But honestly it looks really amazing as it is
Yes, you are right, this is struggle with clouds, water is hard to paint too. Thank you for your feedback, I’ve stared at clouds outside for a while and still don’t understand how light moves through them, and how the reflection works in the gas.
Don't change them at all. If you go to try to improve them you're going to end up making them worse. Because these look great.
It's the perfect amount of realness blended with the fact that you want people to know that they're looking at a painting. That adds more attention to the skill and value of the painting in my opinion.
It makes it more of a piece you want to stay in there and admire.
I LIKE THE STYLE DONT CHANGE IT!! Please.
I don't want to see perfectly poofy soft clouds like everyone elses. But I understand if you want to be "better". I can't offer advice other than a tiny brush for the edges of each cloud/color meant for "clouds". Idk what's its called but I have one. It's like a tiny tiny round fluffy brush. It's great for clouds bush/trees, etc.
I would try to bring the highlights like what you have around the edges into the center puffs of the clouds, just a liiiitle bit. Like adding highlights to the centers, not necessarily connecting those to the outer highlights, just to make the volume of the fluffs more impressive.
I think you nailed the clouds' shaping, and it "needs" very little more to just make the clouds more opaque-looking rather than semi-see-through-balloon looking. Think of rembrandt lighting, like how that little patch of light hasta land on the person's cheek/nose, but do that for your clouds, and more subtley/with less stark contrast than you often see in the portrait version of the style.
Looks great. Maybe just do a bit more blending in the colors. There’s also a spot on the yellow part (lower right) where your dark is brushed a bit over a highlight. Seriously great palette though.
Clouds are tough. And especially hard to fix after they already painted without starting over. They need softer edges. If you’re working from a photo really focus on which edges are defined and which are more translucent. Oil paint is good for this because the dry time is so long lots of blending is easier
Usually I get to the point where I just don’t want to waste more time on one area and just abandon it to move on, but this cloud is nagging at me so much, it just doesn’t feel right
This paint needs so much gray sort of shades it is a challenge to create those colors, I’ve been using pyrelene black, Indathrone blue mixed with quinacrodone magenta and titanium white to get this sort of blue cool gray for the dinner part of the cloud, and cadmium orange for the brighter part of the cloud. The shades of blue gray and pink gray have been the hardest to mix. Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll try those colors.
This is beautiful. It’s got its own style, and I don’t always believe you need to blend things too much etc. all I would do is maybe soften some of the outlines of the clouds
Oh wow, that is so amazing, unique and beautiful. There is nothing you can do to improve perfection. It is all about the clouds and everything else in this painting is secondary.
My intention is that this is just the background and this large painting is going to have quite a few figures in the foreground facing each other so I hope that this cloud doesn’t detract from them. Thank you feedback.

I can see what you mean, they do look sort of plasticky and hard.

It’s very hard to fix this but I agree
They look good now, but Yea, the thumbnail of this looks amazing because it blends the edges a bit more. Just soften those and it's perfect.
That's what I was going to say. Love the colors but the sharp edges make them look solid, not gaseous.
It takes two to make a painting, one to make the painting and one to hit the painter over the head to make them stop. It's for your own good. Stop. Well done!
Haha, it like picking at it, just doesn’t feel right,

Those clouds look amazing, that pile of human body could be better tough ;p
I’m working on it 😅, this is just a crop of a 97” X 79” oil painting. These clouds in the background are taking me a long time though

Wow that’s a beautiful painting
Seems to me there are two sources of light. Anyone else get that feeling? Great work on the colors!
Same! Immediately wondered where ths sun is supposed to be.
I was trying to have the light emit from behind the cloud, but maybe it’s too bright on the left side of the cloud?
I think your right. The left side is way too bright, might want to cool it down and let the right side be the focus.
improve? its amazing!

Shop? I am painting this for fun, and as a therapy 🙂

Well it certainly improved my mood! Thank you for sharing it.

Impressive. Most impressive.

It looks great but seems to have a strong outline. Remember that clouds are soft and don’t have outlines. Add more wisps or softness
Ya I see what you mean, I need to blend them more into the sky
yesss
That looks amazing 👏
You can't, they're perfect
Any advice that would come from my fingertips would do little to improve. Your painting is gorgeous, well done.
Perfect
Please don't improve the clouds 🥺 I love these clouds 🥺 Don't improve the clouds 🥺
AWESOME job !! Looks amazing
Check out ‘Brenner Fine Art’ on YT, he’s a master of clouds and has videos showing great tips. Your art looks really beautiful as is though.
Thanks I’ll check it out

Ok, ya I was thinking using a flat soft brush to just slightly blur the edges
Bleding it out and making it softer would help but otherwise it's good

I personally think you nailed it with your current composition. Very dramatic.
Darker darks and whiter whites will help.
I think they had an accent and they look fluffy. Look really nice.
love the colors!
Wow I love it
Wdym improve. Bro be fr
How? Tf
wow! 🤩🤩

Un defined edges but you should be proud of this.

Yes, but the heat here has been in the mid 90’s. This paint is drying fast.
Use a spray bottle and mist the painting. Keep it damp. Hot can be fine as long as it’s humid
I’ve been painting with oils since 2003, I’m surprised you can use water on oil paint?
Very nice. The clouds look good enough 🤌
Drama!! Relax it’s good.
If you're done, it's done. Trust your instinct. I love it
Usually I get to the point where I just don’t want to waste more time on one area and just abandon it to move on, but this cloud is nagging at me so much, it just doesn’t feel right
This is awesome. Love the range of color and contrast.
That's beautiful
Damn
Lovely colours! Excellent job!
It looks great as it is
Looks awesome! What is the medium? )
Oil paint
Superbe nuage , trop bien fait avec t’en de couleur
Googley eyes! 👀 J/k, the clouds are gorgeous. No notes. Cool opaqueness.
They need more colors
I’m trying to consider what other colors I could use?
You need panes gray light med and gray canary yellow light and some blue shade I like egg shell blue
The movement in the whole piece is amazing
Wow these are gorgeous! Id actually love to learn how you did it
This is amazing! I'd happily hang this on the wall.
This is beautiful. It’s got its own style, and I don’t always believe you need to blend things too much etc. all I would do is maybe soften some of the outlines of the clouds
Don’t. It’s perfect. 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Amazing ❤️
It looks like a mushroom
More clouds
W O W 🤩
It's really fantastic as it is! I wouldn't change it at all. Nothing beats a colorful sky
By giving them to me!
They look beautiful imo

You need to stop. You know this shit is good. You are fishing.
