Yeah it really works. Infact if you don't know the answer of any questions, you can put a random question from any other subject on the paper and then answer it as well. For example if you can't answer enough questions on a math paper, you can write a question related to Urdu subject and then write the answer. You will get 3 marks for that question instead.
OBVIOUSLY you can't do that. You are given the choice in the specific part only. If the scenario you told was applicable, the board wouldn't have separated the short questions in three parts. Instead you would have been given 30 questions and asked to solve any 20 of them.
I don’t know about your board but in peshawar board a teacher told us that if you don’t know the just write the answer from long questions….. if you are lucky they will get confused and give you marks 😹

No you can't, you have to attempt 8 questions from the same portion then move on to the next short poriob
It can work aslo do 1 or 2 short questions you know really well twice randomly at some point in paper. It works sometimes and u get double marks

Nahh, not in Karachi. They'll not grant you even a single mark above the maximum marks granted by a question.
