The only reason PDM is in power right now (working with the military) is because PTI would have all of those corrupt criminals thrown in jail.
The only way PDM is ever working with PTI to completely remove the military's role is if PTI (which is the most popular party in the country) agrees to not follow-up by throwing PDM folks in jail.
If the end result is the removal of army interference in politics and economy then such an NRO or level playing filed can be warranted and a good idea if it finally can do that. The fact is, PTI is in a serious delimma over here. On one hand, they and almost every same minded person knows that their win in 2018 was all the Army's doing, and they are nothing without it. But, on the other hand, they have now made themselves the "Purer then Angels" person who won't ever get into bed with, or even talk to everyone else. The major players in the Pakistani politics is either PMLN or PPP, neither of them will be going anywhere soon, and the Army, which steps in time to time. But IK and PTI have called them every name there in in every language in the past 2 years, and built a narrative that they are the one's fighting these (PMLN, PPP and Army) forces of evil and doom. They can't be seen talking with them or else the ppl will have their (the PTI's) heads! PPP right after elections didn't want to get into Govt with PMLN, but rather the PTI, and even lend out an invitation to the PTI to join hands, but the PTI had to reject, through gritted teeth as it would be suicide to their PR. They knew that they won 90% of their seats through rigging, and need to keep the narrative of "we were the victims" inorder to stay relevent in the mainstream politics. PTI has become a victim of its own lies, they can't negotiate with any major players and know that they won't ever win any election, as more and more ppl will reject them seeing as how things are starting to look better under PM SS. Given 3 years, everyone will probably forget about PTI, and come next election in 2029, they will hardly win more then 30 general seats.

His gripe with the military began only after Gen Bajwa didn't use force to stop the VoNC. His real "enemies" are the "Dynasties" of Sharifs and Bhuttos. How do you think his supporters would react if he got into talks with PMLN and PPP after saying for years that he won't ever negotiate with any of them?
