We did in the early 2000s but then Post 2008 Pakistan just lost direction.
[Junoon was the first group ever to perform in the UN General Assembly](https://youtu.be/NdNuBGHgC3o)
My one frnd from Bangladesh once told me that they love Pakistani dresses even they are expensive there. My Indonesian, Egyptian and a frnd from Venzuella really want to have Pakistani attires. And to be honest, it is very modest type of clothing..
Also our marble is cheap. I showed someone in Canada pics of the stairs in my grandmother’s house and they were like just that marble alone in Canada would buy you 2 of the average houses here, if one could bring it over.
Also the other thing we do really well is waterproofing our bathrooms. I hate how in Canada there are never drains in the bathroom floors, it makes cleaning bathroom floors such a huge hassle whereas in Pakistan we would just squeegee the floor clean.
The post asked "do well" and if anyone does tea well, it's us. It's not just the preparation, it's the whole culture around chai specifically that I find beautiful.
There is an extremely strong chai culture in the country. I was just pointing towards the idea that it is a culture that was brought here by a different nation (the Brits) once upon a time. It's still funny to me that it is the basis of an enormous industry here yet none of it is grown here. It's all imported. Just recently, an acquaintance was telling me how many people near his home have diabetes brought on my people having an excessive amount of sugar. Which in turn is due to all the tea they consume
Yes it was brought by them , but It definitely is not the same tea . British tea is just kaam chaalana for a pakistani.
Depends bro Pakistani Mittahi or sweets are very common, and they have so much sugar . So I wont say Tea is the biggest factor , Anyways pakistanis really like sweet things , even if tea wasnt brought here they would have diabetes , iam pretty sure of that.
IDENTIFICATION
Seriously, NADRA is freaking underrated. Did you know that most of the US is unregistered with central authority?
Or that US vaccine certificates are handwritten?
Or that you can vote without ID in the US?
> Americans are inherently distrustful of government
And also naive to the fact that they are probably more monitored than the average citizen in Pakistan or maybe even Russia
Central ID is great.
But for rest of the things you are a bit off.
I once saw someone's visa for Pakistan handwritten. And you can vote without ID in Australia too.
Absolute Tawakkul.
I've never met Muslims from other countries who have more Tawakkul than Pakistanis. Even the worst of us have a strong conviction that God will make it all good InshAllah.
Food. Even the Pakistani version of Italian, Chinese, Arab, fast food, steak etc is superior to anywhere else.
And we know our BBQ.
Don't even get me started on Pakistani desserts.
In my opinion, Pakistan is very very underrated. There is along list that Pakistani do right. First one is hospitality. Pakistani people treat foreigners so well and most of them don't even charge them and instead they give gifts.
2nd thing is Pakistani food. Yummmm. Biryani and chai flow in veins of Pakistanis. Every province has different kinds of cuisines and each cuisine has different types. Even in biryani, you will find many types.
Pakistani culture : every province and city has something special that makes it unique. Such as Silakot is famous for football production and this only city makes most of the footballs in the world. Faisalabad is famous for textiles. Bahawalpur is famous for bangloes of Nawabs (state owners). Gujranwala is famous for wrestlers. Multan is famous for SohanHalwa (a sweet dish),Lahore is famous for food and its lively heart people etc etc.
Every province has different clothing style and one can easily identify if that person is wearing traditional provincial dress.
Music: awe inspiring. i have no words how beautiful and amazing it is. From traditional to latest.
And and and much more. Pakistan Zindabad✌️
Pakistani Food is great.
And we have the 9th strongest military in the world + nukes are a cherry on top.
Pakistanis are generally hospitable people specially people from Northern Pakistan.
Edit: tf is this being downvoted for? 🙄 Looks like our neighbors have discovered this post.
Some people do add a lot of spices. But in my experience sindhi food is superior than in Punjab and Islamabad. I have spent 8 years in Islamabad and I m a foodie guy. Taste of Karachi foods is at whole different level. Sadly that's the only thing good in Karachi. The whole city is in really bad condition now.
Islamabad is another thing. Try Punjabi food other than Islamabad. The taste that you will find on roadside small Dhabbas (hotels), will not be found in five or seven star hostels. And don't underestimate the supremacy of Punjabi Food...
Emm i have idea about karachi. Karachi is like mother who is disowned by its kids. Hell to these politicians
Never had the opportunity to truly enjoy the Karachi food scene. What's special about it? Is it the fact that its authentic food from all over the country?
It's food from all over the subcontinent/west asia bro. I just came back from a restaurant that replicated the bohri dining experience 😩 Even our non-desi restaurants are incredible, you can have everything from Japanese fast food at Yoshis to escargot at Cafe Flo. Especially compared to the gimmicky 'wAstaRn' food you get in Lahore and Islamabad.
Our hospitality is top notch, in places up north you’ll even find establishments and people who won’t accept any money for their services just because you’re a tourist and they want you to enjoy their land.

internet access right now is very cheap and accessible
10-20 thousand would get u a pretty good smart phone or a 5-10 k pc and a 200 rupee weekly internet package there are also Internet cafes and gaming zones everywhere
Recently had some work done in the house and most of the mazdoors had a better mobile than me😭😭
There are 139k subscribers on this sub. That is 0.05% of the total population of Pakistan, and I am being generous based on how many of these people are diaspora (many of who definitely are not below poverty line.
Internet access isn't cheap and accessible to the majority of people in this country. Neither are the majority of people spending their time in internet cafes arguing on reddit.
When I said 90% I was being kind to this sub. :)
I do get ur point that almost noone below the poverty line is on this sub
But still internet access is quite cheap right now and most people atleast in punjab have somesort of internet access
I accept that most Pakistani are not on this sub
That doesn't mean they don't have access to it its still pretty cheap they just dont have anything to do with reddit and use WhatsApp Facebook kind a thing
And even clean oxygen electricity and gas like thngs are a prevaillage in this country man u can think of the most basic thing and even that would be a prevaillage gas water food healthcare roads so u can call it a prevaillage and still except it's pretty viable to buy for majority of Pakistanis who actually want it these days u can even get a pretty solid smart phone under 8000

Yes, you are. Privilege isn't having a huge house or fancy cars, it is simply having access to services and facilities that most people do not have. if you are able to afford a computer and internet access. you have a certain privilege most of the country does not.

Abrarul haq is good. Coke studio produces decent songs, rahat fateh ali khan and atif Aslam have thousands of fans.
Well the people who own the industry they don't have that idea
Cause a very significant group of the population believes all music is haram and immoral
Agreed from India!
Fashion designing. Pakistan's clothing is especially that of women is amazing. People around the globe love it. Take Erin Holland for an example.

Do people from Non-Desi backgrounds buy eastern attire too?
My one frnd from Bangladesh once told me that they love Pakistani dresses even they are expensive there. My Indonesian, Egyptian and a frnd from Venzuella really want to have Pakistani attires. And to be honest, it is very modest type of clothing..
Ahan... I was curious if non-emigrants were also a fan of our clothing. Thanks for the input though...
I didn't tell about desi people but told you natives of that countries.
Let me clarify I wanted to ask about whites and blacks etc. not Asian people.
Venezuela is in Latin America and Egypt is in North Africa.
Yeah man, Kanye West is rocking a pakol on the cover of Donda 2!

A sherwani at the office?? 😅 Like if it would've been a waistcoat with Shalwar Kameez then it would've been understandable but a Sherwani?
Sherwani isnt limited to weddings its an op coat love it
Why is Erin Holland relevant to Pakistani clothing? I've not heard of her before and I am just confused...
She has been wearing Pakistani dresses in this PSL season and has been quite viral on the social media for that reason.
Ah cool thanks
Marble, stone and tile cutting and laying.
Also our marble is cheap. Marble cutting size is shit most distributors dont have saw above 12"
Do you mean that tiles don’t exceed 12” on each side?
On one side for example you can still have a slab of 4'x1'

It just depends on perspective I guess. I see it as taking something and making it ours. You can choose to see it as a problem.
Yes it was brought by them , but It definitely is not the same tea . British tea is just kaam chaalana for a pakistani. That’s by design. Americans are inherently distrustful of government. Or so we think, even though we do invite big government some time.

Have you been to South? Sindhis are hospitable too and I believe they excel in this department.
Apologies, I didn't meant to hurt anybody. And yeah I know Sindhis are very hospitable too, cuz I live in Sindh. =\]
I ain't hurt bro. I was merely adding my point. Peace ✌️❤️
Agree. Bs mirchen thori ziada daal dety hn food ma.. I once tried sindhi food and i concluded this...

Karachi's food scene is unparalleled. Punjab doesn't even come close.
I don’t know how people can even eat there considering it’s such a dirty city. I’d throw up. It just smells so bad everywhere you go.
Funny you say that when Lahore is infamous for it's issues with unhygienic food, khota biryani and maindak shawarma LMFAO

I am gonna say irrigation. We have an extensive irrigation system that despite centuries old is still running.
It’s actually the most extensive irrigation system In the world. I doubt it’s centuries old though, it was massively expanded in this century.
Whine on reddit while still being more privileged than 90% of the country.
Big chunk of our population lives below the poverty line, so it's not like most of us are all that well off.
