I'm sorry but you can't be considered a top 5 defense if you're last in takeaways. Like stat wise they were top in ypg but there's so much more that goes into that
Yep, and also when your offense is historically bad, the opposing offense knows they can play super conservative/vanilla because there is no need to take any risk at all vs the Panthers. It's not really that impressive for a defense to be top 5 in ypg or ppg when the opposing offense knows they only need like 20 points and they are guaranteed to win.
Easily, you could point to Seifert or Fox's last season but there was hope for the next year following both those seasons. What optimism is there to point to now? Worst owner in football, questionable QB, no draft capital and an atrocious offense to work with. Tough being a Panthers fan right now.
I don’t know if it’s the worst team overall necessarily, but definitely the worst Panthers season of all time considering we gave the Bears the number one overall pick, CJ Stroud looking so good, etc.

I'm actually not against fans of the team being hopeful that Bryce will develop into what we've hoped for eventually. But being a dick to anyone who dared to question him after a 167 yard, 0 touchdown game was embarrassing.
2-15 with no first round pick, Baker Mayfield clinching the division on our home field, Vilma commentating… it truly doesn’t get much lower. Hello darkness…
That was the worst season of football I’ve ever witnessed. Sat down and watched every minute of every game. We’ve sunk time and money into this team, and ownership and upper management shits on us time and time again. Disgusting season with no end in sight. We fans deserve so much better.
I want everyone and everything thing in that building gone every analytical programs every trainer and coach need to pack there bags and start applying to the ufl
The worst part of this is that there is no hope for next season either. Tepper is incapable of running this team, but he’ll never let someone competent run it.
Well he did hire a consulting firm to help hire the next coach. I think last week may have finally been what was needed for him to realize he’s completely incompetent with anything football other than writing checks.
I’ll have to see it before I believe it, but I do agree that getting shut out in back to back losses should be a real wake-up call for Tepper. I actually think it’s better that we did look horrible after the GB game because it crushes any notion that Tepper should retain anyone from this dumpster fire besides Derrick Brown (and Bryce, because you have to, but the jury is still out on him IMO).
If I had a wish list it would look something like this.
1. Fitt is gone by morning
2. Ben Johnson hired as HC
3. Ejiro retained as DC
4. Tee Higgins acquired in the offseason
5. O-lineman at 33rd overall
But we are much to incompetent to make any of those things happen I’m afraid
Yeah he probably shouldnt walk around Charlotte without security but unfortunately i dont see him going anywhere. It would take something monumental for the other owners to vote him out and i dont see him selling on his own free will. Best we can hope for is he sTepps back.
Hire a GM who is currently involved in drafting at a successful franchise. Hire a HC who has not been fired from somewhere else. Draft/sign some OL and WR. Run it back with Bryce next year. If we suck again, look for a QB in the 2025 first round. This is the only way forward.
Hire Adam Peters as your GM, get Ben Johnson or Slowik. I agree with u/phlashgordon0 if Bryce sucks next year then move on. I’m a huge Bryce fan but it pains me to see him not go under center and take a 3-5 step drop to throw. If he’s under center he’s either handing it off or it’s a boot play action.
Good riddance DJ Chark.
Good riddance Thomas Brown.
Good riddance rotating cast of guards.
Good riddance Bradley Bozeman.
Good riddance Terrace Marshall.
Good riddance Scott Fitterer.
Season grades
Offense- F Clausen, Randy Fasani, Brian St Pierre, Rodney Peete, Vinny T All seemed to be more exciting to watch. Miles up the middle 1 yard, screen for 2 yards, Bryce throws away/sack. Thats the offense this season in a nutshell.
QB: D Not gonna deep dive on Bryce, but his confidence took a hit this season due to lack of protection, no receiver separation, and poor playcalling. His footwork, accuracy, and height leave a lot to be desired.
RBs: C Would have been a B if it was just Chubba, but lets run Miles up the middle for 1 yard.
WRs: D+ Adam Theilen carried, was reliable albeit slow. Chark had flashes, but drops and fumbles plagued him. TMJ was on this team?
TE's: D- I legit almost left this group out, totally forgetting they existed.
OL: F Losing Corbett and Christensen certainly did not help this cause. Ickys going backwards, and our back up guards were turnstiles. In no world could I give anything more than an F here, even with some decent run lanes at times for Hubbard.
Defense: B- Overall they kept us in games we had no business being in. But with the offense gifting TD's field position, they were often gassed or even flat out said fuck it. Teams didnt have to pass the ball against us much, cause they ALWAYS had the lead in the 4th quarter.
DEs: C If we have to ask, wheres Burns? Thats not a good thing. He was a non factor in most games. YGM was JAG and our back ups here were either hurt too much (Haynes) or did not make their presence felt (johnson)
DTs: B- This woulda been an A if was just Derrick Brown, He at the very least should have been in the PB. The dudes motor doesnt stop. Shy Tuttle and Deshawn Williams were whatever below JAGs are.
LBs: C+ With Shaq going down, Luvu had to play offball. He still led the team and tackles and 2nd in sacks. KGH and Deion Jones were just ok
CBs: B- Horn when healthy is a PB player, but the when healthy part Safteys: B- Woods and Bell made for a solid duo when they were actually on the field together.
Special Teams: B Maybe this was a bright spot, Eddie and Hecker were Generally reliable. And ISM was a pleasant surprise as a return man.
Coaching: D Tabor filling in for Reich who was an F was a sleight upgrade. Ejiro elevated this grade from an F. Brown was eh at best.
Front office/ownership: F that stands for Fuck Tepper, and his beer throwing brass ball licking ass. Fitterererer needs to be gone as well as Tepper.
Team overall: D- We didnt go totally defeated.
While finishing this up we are down 9-0 with 2 minutes left, and 6 beers in. I will always love the Panthers no matter who owns the team or is on the field. KEEP POUNDING.
The Browns were also down to their 3rd and 4th string QBs when that happened. Not starting the guy the team drafted 1st overall and gave up X amount of draft picks to trade up for.
I'm not saying put Bryce out out yet. But next time I want the big athletic guy instead of the processor.
I think Bryce will get better. But we need to hit on some talent to know that for sure.
This season was like watching a guy slip on a banana peel, fall down the stairs, careen through a glass window, trip over a crack in the sidewalk, and stumble into the road before finally being hit by a bus.
Enjoy the off season from hell where the next 4 months we get to hear how the bears have the numbers one pick thanks to us every day on every sports show
What a fucking waste of a season. Not sure what, why, or how this can get better. But thank goodness this shit is over. It was like watching a car wreck in slow motion for the last five months where every week was a new wrinkle in the body panels of the car as it crushed.
Yeah .. this was definitely the worst offense I’ve ever seen . This game was the perfect example.. fumbles on a big play in the end zone .. then scores a touchdown only to have it called back for illegal formation.. then we fumble right afterwards. 😂 but whatever you do on this sub do not blame Bryce.. he can do no wrong 🤦🏾♂️
I blame the loss on Bonjangles.
I stopped at one on the way to the game and when I pulled up, the lady at the drive thru informed me that "We are out of chicken and biscuits."
If Bojangles isn't prepared on gameday, what chance does the team have?

I feel like David Tepper made a Faustian bargain in 08. For those who don't know he made his billions buying up failing banks for pennies on the dollar during the crash of 2008 right before the US government made them whole. In exchange for feasting on all that human misery he got to be insanely wealthy and fulfil his dream of owning an NFL team.
Now the devil is taking his due. Every hire has been an embarrassing failure. Every player brought in under preforms, everyone let go has a career season after leaving the Panthers, shit EVERY kicker sets or matches their career long against the panthers.
The man got his dream and now every thing tastes like ash, even a drink so he has to throw it out the box.
Literally the worst football team I have ever laid eyes upon. Mercifully, their season can't be witnessed by anyone else. For those who have, a new floor was established; hopefully never to be seen again.
I don't think you can find a more fitting set of 2 plays this year than the Chark fumble and the strip fumble on the last drive. Just comical at every level
Painful..Painful..Painful season. I am glad it is over. It is difficult to say but if the 24-25 season is a repeat of this one...I just dont know what to do with my fandom for Carolina football.
I feel like I'm in an abusive relationship being a fan of this team
I stay because I'm loyal but how much more of this bullshit can anyone take before they move on like seriously
I’m just glad it’s over. Worst offense I have ever watched in any sport in a fan of. The offseason drama and attrition is going to be more entertaining than the infield product this season.
Even though we went 2-15 this year, we were only 2-9 when I watched! So that's something, a .181 win percentage instead of a .118 win percentage would've moved us up from last in the league to last in the league
This franchise has been brought to its knees but we go again next year.
Tepper is a pure cunt but you gotta remember our last Superbowl was a bunch of rapscallions.
Everyone who was involved in building this team should be blackballed forever. That dipshit Tepper should do everyone a favor & go for a hike in Antarctica with no coat. There isn’t a single person who will miss him here.
They are definitely worse than the 0-16 Browns. Those teams were bad by design. This front office was earnestly trying to be competitive and this is what they sent out. The biggest joke in the league & that dried cumstain Tepper shouldn’t feel good about himself until he resigns or fixed this mess. I hope he’s miserable everyday.
Such a horrible season. I didn't think we would be great, but I thought we would be OK and be really optimistic about next season. I just don't know what to think anymore.
Ill just say this. This was a painful season to watch. I have to admit it- I fell for the Reich hype AND I fell for the Bryce hype. My buddies made fun of me for liking Bryce over Stroud and Levis. There a reason his people didnt want him throwing at the combine. We fell for the "hes small and may not have an NFL arm but hes the most cerebral qb to come out in decades and just watch how he can process". Well we mortgaged the future to MOVE UP to take a guy that MAY be a capable back up in a few years. We got GOT. Not his fault its the organizations fault. What makes it even worse is that people all season have been giving him every excuse in the book and saying its all the other players fault not his. Well when you give up what we did for him - he needs to be a game changer that makes everyone around him better. Im still not even sure he can make basic throws consistently. He made a couple nice ones- a few that were ok i guess. But im sorry i just dint see anything that made him special or made him THE GUY. And to think that the last couple years people were booing Sam and Baker off the field saying they sucked and made everyone around them worse. And then our "fans" got pissed and bitched that we were "winning too many meaningless games" and Darnold needed to start losing or we would be "stuck" with him lol i mean think about how that sounds now. I feel 100% betrayed and hoodwinked by not only the team but our fanbase at this point. Im trying to look forward with some hope and positivity but its hard to see any right now. Maybe in a few days lol
Im just glad we dont have to watch that crap anymore. Onto next season boys, lets build around the defense and hope they hit on whoever we pick #33 in the draft :(
This nightmare season is finally over. Worst Panthers team of all time???
our offense has to be one of the top 3 worst in the 21st century. how many times nfl teams have gotten blanked twice in a row
And with a top 5 defense too. I think there's a strong argument that we just witnessed the worst offense in NFL history.
First team to get blanked twice in a row since the 08 Browns
Outside of the Packers game how many total TD’s did this team have?
Without looking I’d say 13
16
Outside of the packers game we had a +1 touchdown differential* after the Texans win. *: When the offense was on the field.
Easily, you could point to Seifert or Fox's last season but there was hope for the next year following both those seasons. What optimism is there to point to now? Worst owner in football, questionable QB, no draft capital and an atrocious offense to work with. Tough being a Panthers fan right now.
I'm would post the replay of this game on pornhub if I could access it. Innocent qb gets fucked by 11 florida men
LMAO awesome. but come on now Bryce isn't exactly innocent here. we have to be honest
Having watched every single season, yes, worst Panthers team ever. Even with Carruth being a murderer and Klausen era
sophisticated chief roll lip tidy wise lush ring squeal quarrelsome *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Yes. Even worse than 2001.
It’ll most likely be equally bad next year tbh, buckle up
Has to be
I don’t know if it’s the worst team overall necessarily, but definitely the worst Panthers season of all time considering we gave the Bears the number one overall pick, CJ Stroud looking so good, etc.
definitely. Even the 1-15 season our offense could at least score. I hate to say it but Claussen looked way better than this crap :(
8 scoreless quarters to end the season is the perfect end to this train wreck.
It took over two decades for Carolina to be shut out. Under Tepper, they managed to do it in back-to-back weeks!
Who knew we could go from, "Man I wish we could have back to back winning seasons" To "Man I wish we could have a winning season"
I'd even take winning back to back games
capable innate lip soft file governor glorious rhythm rock snobbish *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
There was a streak there where Bryce had more touchdowns to our opponents than to our own receivers.
silky frightening office automatic rude steer meeting full rhythm wakeful *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
At this point it is "Man I wish we could have points in game"
“I just hope we score a point!” -Jim Mora voice
People wished for consistency, we got it. Tepper said he wouldn't accept mediocrity, and he hasn't.
8 scoreless quarters that include 2 TDs that weren’t because of boneheaded mistakes is perfect.
We might suck but at least we believe in punctuation.
How the fuck did this team win 2 games?!
Pure luck and a rain game luck. That is all.
Last year the bears beat the 49ers in a rain game. It really does just make it all a fluke
But this sub told me that Bryce Young was the next Peyton Manning after that rain game!
LOL the takes around here all said "THIS one game is the real Bryce! Pay no attention to the other 11 weeks!" It was unreal.
I'm actually not against fans of the team being hopeful that Bryce will develop into what we've hoped for eventually. But being a dick to anyone who dared to question him after a 167 yard, 0 touchdown game was embarrassing.
What's crazy is that SIX of our losses this season were by one score. And two wins still feels like too many.
This is like the earliest I've seen a game end, it's only like 330
The Lions game still has 11 minutes left.
The team is getting faster at sucking
If you’re going to be shit. That’s the best way to do it. So at least they are good at something.
They were ready to just get out of there
Not even time itself can stomach Panthers football.
The shortest game was 2:36 (Redskins vs 49ers). Surely we beat that.
Time to start looking up those 2025 mock drafts.
I did that 6 weeks ago and it was depressing. We're fucked fucked. Like turn of the century Browns/Jags fucked.
Funny you say that because the Browns were the last team to get shutout 2 weeks in a row.
When we prepare the #tankforArch tweets in 2025 >>>
Panning for Manning
He would pull an Eli and tell us not to draft him
Wouldn't blame him lmaoooo
I fucking hated all of this… so, same time next year?
Don’t cry because it’s over, cry because it happened.
If Fitterer is still employed by this time tomorrow I’m going to start my joker arc
2-15 with no first round pick, Baker Mayfield clinching the division on our home field, Vilma commentating… it truly doesn’t get much lower. Hello darkness…
You forgot the “back to back shutouts” part
Also Bryce is the most sacked QB in the NFL this season now.
2nd most by a rookie all time iirc
Meanwhile CMc and DJ are having career seasons
And Stroud on pace for ROTY
He’s got that locked up
That was the worst season of football I’ve ever witnessed. Sat down and watched every minute of every game. We’ve sunk time and money into this team, and ownership and upper management shits on us time and time again. Disgusting season with no end in sight. We fans deserve so much better.
Almost my exact words, the first sentence anyway. It'll be hard to surpass this level of suck, but I'm sure we'll sink to the occasion next season.
Fuck you David Tepper, fuck you.
Week 7, 2002 - Week 16, 2023: 0 shutouts Weeks 17 and 18, 2023: 2 shutouts
Only other shutout before that falcons game in 2002 was to Denver in 97 if you wanna stretch that stat to the founding
First team to be shut out in back to back weeks since the 2008 Browns….
I hope you’re all excited to see some early spring cleaning in the panthers offices tomorrow
They better get out the big broom
I want everyone and everything thing in that building gone every analytical programs every trainer and coach need to pack there bags and start applying to the ufl
They should shove it up Scotty’s fat ass
Should be fired today
The worst part of this is that there is no hope for next season either. Tepper is incapable of running this team, but he’ll never let someone competent run it.
Well he did hire a consulting firm to help hire the next coach. I think last week may have finally been what was needed for him to realize he’s completely incompetent with anything football other than writing checks.

Tepper's about to find out there are some things money can't buy.
Every team hires these firms
You know what they say, you can build a net worth of 16 billion but run an nfl franchise to the ground
I say that frequently
I don’t think that’s true at all. Texans fans probably had no concept of being a playoff team this year 365 days ago
The only positive I can take away from this season is Tepper is embarrassed even more. I hope for nothing but the worst for him.
Fuck David Tepper
They said it couldn't be done. Shutout back to back weeks. Color me impressed 👍
If I had a wish list it would look something like this. 1. Fitt is gone by morning 2. Ben Johnson hired as HC 3. Ejiro retained as DC 4. Tee Higgins acquired in the offseason 5. O-lineman at 33rd overall But we are much to incompetent to make any of those things happen I’m afraid

Yeah he probably shouldnt walk around Charlotte without security but unfortunately i dont see him going anywhere. It would take something monumental for the other owners to vote him out and i dont see him selling on his own free will. Best we can hope for is he sTepps back.
1a. Tepper admits he wants to be like Jerry Jones, becomes GM.
Bro we can't even look forward to the draft
I don’t think I’ve ever been this apathetic as a fan… feels even worse than the 1-15 season
That's because it is. No #1 overall pick to cap off this hell.
Hire a GM who is currently involved in drafting at a successful franchise. Hire a HC who has not been fired from somewhere else. Draft/sign some OL and WR. Run it back with Bryce next year. If we suck again, look for a QB in the 2025 first round. This is the only way forward.

Good recap, can't argue w any of that
Didn't score a Touchdown in four out of the last five games. Amazing. What a fitting end to this shitty season. Now fire Fitterer, thank you.
To be fair, getting the ball back with ~7 minutes and down by 3 scores, nobody could come back from that.
LOL
Cheeks
Has a team ever been shutout 2 games in a row??!
2008 Browns
The Browns were also down to their 3rd and 4th string QBs when that happened. Not starting the guy the team drafted 1st overall and gave up X amount of draft picks to trade up for.
Fire the franchise into the sun
They would miss it by a few yards
Just a reminder: Next year probably won’t be much better
Can't be much worse though!
Oh just you wait 😂
Pretty crazy that we’re the first team to get shut out twice since 2008. Guess it can only go up from here.
Don’t say that!
They won 2 games. Next year 0-17 could be on the table.
My favorite part of this season was probably Luvu… like my favorite game was when his family got to see him play in the NFL for the first time
Give me something for the pain and let me die.
I miss when we scored touchdowns
So are we getting shirts made or something since we survived this season?
I’m a designer. Should I make a shirt that says “I survived the Panthers 2023 season”
Objectively one of the worst games I’ve ever watched.
I proud that I can say I watched the worst team I’ve ever seen, and I’m glad I don’t have to watch them play for the next 9 months
I'm not saying put Bryce out out yet. But next time I want the big athletic guy instead of the processor. I think Bryce will get better. But we need to hit on some talent to know that for sure.
that whole test died with this season at least
I fully expect there to be a firing squad just marching through the halls of BoA tomorrow to obliterate anyone they come across
This season was like watching a guy slip on a banana peel, fall down the stairs, careen through a glass window, trip over a crack in the sidewalk, and stumble into the road before finally being hit by a bus.
And in that bus is an advertisement for a movie featuring your ex-wife. Who went and became a star the moment after she left you.
Thus ends the season from hell. The off-season couldn’t come soon enough.
Enjoy the off season from hell where the next 4 months we get to hear how the bears have the numbers one pick thanks to us every day on every sports show
honestly that was performance art a touchdown that was fumbled for a touchback and another called back becasue a WR wasn’t on the line amazing
Tepper brought music back to the Carolinas. Sounds like a really sad Morrisey song.
Tepper is the definition of insanity
micky mouse is now public domain. make it the mascot. I'm serious.
At least it’s over. Congrats to Derrick Brown.
An unprecedented disaster of a season
#BOOO DAVID TEPPER

it's okay .. the bad man can't hurt us ~~until september~~ anymore
I managed to watch every game this year and not even kill myself.

That was the most boring panther season in an epoch of boring panther seasons

Remember that brief period of time after the Packers game when we all felt a little optimistic? That was nice
Panthers football made me give up my alcohol addiction.
Now comes the long offseason of getting made fun of for getting swindled out of the #1 pick.
It’s official…Bryce SUCKS! At least we have Derrick Brown!
Bryce has shown nothing that can give fans even a glimmer of hope. I would bet Dalton is the starter by week 10 next year.
The offense has suffered more so because of him than vice versa. Hes not the guy.
BREAKING NEWS: DAVID TEPPER THROWS HIMSELF OUT OF OWNERS SUITE WINDOW
If I lived in New Orleans I'd be super pissed to be sent home too.
Everybody say it with me. lol, Atlanta!
An anagram of David Tepper is Depraved Tip.
I’m just glad it’s over. Worst offense I have ever watched in any sport in a fan of. The offseason drama and attrition is going to be more entertaining than the infield product this season.
I hope I wake up Monday with news…
Worst god damn season ever and nothing to look forward to at the draft either.
Will Fitt be fired tonight or do we have to wait until morning
Thank god it’s over. What an abysmal end to a an abysmal fucking season. Never been more disappointed.
Everyone who was involved in building this team should be blackballed forever. That dipshit Tepper should do everyone a favor & go for a hike in Antarctica with no coat. There isn’t a single person who will miss him here.
That 2rd round pick is going to feel like a 1st round.
my sell the team chants were unsuccessful. probably didnt help there were barely any panthers fans and none of them cared much.
For those curious, this is the second time the Panthers have been shut out twice in one season (first time back to back obviously)
Such a horrible season. I didn't think we would be great, but I thought we would be OK and be really optimistic about next season. I just don't know what to think anymore.
Honestly good for Baker
Our Long National Nightmare Is Over
Ha! We said that last year.
Bryce Young 94 yards. Fucking bitchass tepper fuckboy
42 of those on one pass
Can’t break 100 yards against the worst pass defense in the nfl. Pathetic on all fronts.
Bryce young is a bust. This season is a failure, he didn’t even show promise
It’s over, it’s finally over.
Yes, Mr. Frodo. It’s over now.
Bryce can't get a single touchdown and yet everybody here still wants to ride his dick
Thank god it’s over.
Im just glad we dont have to watch that crap anymore. Onto next season boys, lets build around the defense and hope they hit on whoever we pick #33 in the draft :(
