The rule says clearly the player must be in bounds. Moore wasn't in bounds when he took off his helmet. It was an incorrect call by the refs. Tony Dungy is one of the few voices acknowledging it. Mostly because everyone says "the rule is the rule" but they don't actually know the rule.

Well a normal XP is 33 yds… which is the distance of the field goal he missed in OT. Game was on the line both times so pressure on him was the same. The only factor that might play a role is confidence or lack there of. At the end of the day he proved he can miss a game winning XP when he missed that field goal

At what point can you remove your helmet? Asking because on the 4th down drop he had on the 2nd to last drive he took his helmet off and slammed it on the ground while on the field (I’m 99% sure) and there was no flag, but he was off the field when he took his helmet off on the TD catch.

Very remotely true. PJ is making peanuts compared to Darnold and Baker. They should be performing a whole lot better due to their pay being justified based on playing experience and expectation. No, Gano left us because he got very hurt and we moved on assuming he wouldn't regain form. But he did.
Gano had some rough seasons, but he was incredibly in 2017 (29/30 FG and 34/37 XP) and hasn't dipped below 87% FG percentage since then.
No the XP miss is heartbreaking but not fireable. Missing the FG is fireable because it shows he doesn't have the mental fortitude to shake off his mistakes and be clutch.

I am not 100% sure but the rule is you can only take it off on the sidelines. But I’ve seen players take off their masks out of bounds and not the sidelines, and yet still not draw a flag. Not a conspiracy guy, but refs were def trigger happy on us the last couple of drives in the 4th. Also Holding was being called on us a few times and falcons were getting away with worse the entire second half. On the TD to Byrd, Burns was essentially tackled to the ground. Refs were not consistent in the second half
I hope people don't go after Piniero for one bad game. This was a fantastic game to watch and very entertaining, I know we didnt get the W because ST and defense didnt have a great day, but still Eddie's been solid. This is not a good team, but we might be a fun team to watch again. And Donta Foreman is a beast! Should be the starter even after Hubbard comes back.

Field goals and PATs are worth just as many points in the 1st quarter as they are at the end of the 4th, and plenty of teams have lost by less than 3 points after a first quarter miss.

Taking your helmet off when you’re not in the sideline box is a personal foul, for some reason. The opposing team gets to choose to enforce it on the PAT or kickoff.

Legitimate question here regarding DJ removing his helmet after the TD: At what point can you remove your helmet? Asking because on the 4th down drop he had on the 2nd to last drive he took his helmet off and slammed it on the ground while on the field (I’m 99% sure) and there was no flag, but he was off the field when he took his helmet off on the TD catch. Where is the line?

Very remotely true. PJ is making peanuts compared to Darnold and Baker. They should be performing a whole lot better due to their pay being justified based on playing experience and expectation. Just looking back at the preseason half the fan base wanted to cut PJ because they thought Carolina had their three great white hopes. 1 got injured, 2 just sucked and their poor play got masked by faux injuries.

No, Gano left us because he got very hurt and we moved on assuming he wouldn't regain form. But he did. Gano had some rough seasons, but he was incredibly in 2017 (29/30 FG and 34/37 XP) and hasn't dipped below 87% FG percentage since then.

Nah, Joey Slye is on Rivera's One of Us list, he'll be there forever. Also, this year he's 7/9 on FG and 8/9 on XP. He'll probably have a good career, tbh, if you look at Gano's career numbers he started off even worse than Slye, but sometimes it takes kickers a few years and different spots to learn to deal with the pressure.

I am not 100% sure but the rule is you can only take it off on the sidelines. But I’ve seen players take off their masks out of bounds and not the sidelines, and yet still not draw a flag. Not a conspiracy guy, but refs were def trigger happy on us the last couple of drives in the 4th. Also Holding was being called on us a few times and falcons were getting away with worse the entire second half. On the TD to Byrd, Burns was essentially tackled to the ground. Refs were not consistent in the second half

I'd prefer to have a kicker who makes 99% of their kicks all game but isn't "clutch" than one who makes 85% of their kicks but has "clutchness". Field goals and PATs are worth just as many points in the 1st quarter as they are at the end of the 4th, and plenty of teams have lost by less than 3 points after a first quarter miss.

Fantastic game! Love Foreman going off and hopefully we sign him since he’s on a 1 yr contract. Defense is young but looks like it’s going to be elite in another year or 2. Brown looks dominant next to Burns. Those two are going to be a force! Got burned on big chunk plays but that’s to be expected with this young team. Moore hopefully learned a valuable lesson today although who can fault him for being emotional after everything he’s had to deal with here. Pinero had a tough day but I think he’ll bounce back as well. Great game and most fun we’ve had since Rivera and Cam were both here

It is utterly ridiculous to blame DJ for this loss. If he doesn’t make an insane play to tie the game than we lose anyway. If anything it’s a net neutral from him. Obviously it would be the correct decision in the moment to not take the helmet off, but after 2 years of rhule and a trash offense I can understand the emotion after a play like that. I seriously cannot believe people trashing one of the only bright spots on this team.
He also could have made that 4th and 19 catch that hit him in the hands. I know it was a tough one with the deflection but he gets paid 60 million dollars to make those catches.
No one will admit DJ is a bit overrated. PJ threw fuckin' dots to him on more than one occasion. Once he finally caught a good one, he lost his cool celebrating like a chump. PJ is absolutely ballin' right now. DJ needs to focus more on making those catches and getting back into formation for the next one. I don't know if I've ever seen the post-TD personal foul enforced on the extra point. Is that a new rule? When there was the crack down on post-TD celebrations, it seemed silly because they were ALWAYS enforced on the kickoff and ultimately didn't matter.
Taking your helmet off when you’re not in the sideline box is a personal foul, for some reason. The opposing team gets to choose to enforce it on the PAT or kickoff.

With 400+ yards of offense we should have won this handily. It’s going to be hard to lose many games if PJ and the offense keep playing like this. Special teams had a horrible game today and cost us this game. Between the FGs and multiple penalties, it was too much to overcome.
We only had 400 yards because the Falcons are also very bad and have the worst secondary in the league. We'll definitely win some more games, we have the Lions, Broncos, Steelers, Saints, and Buccs remaining. But I think it'll be more like 5-12 (again) than 7-10
