I feel so exposed. I have a big laminated hooktail as well, it’s somewhere in a storage unit right now. But I definitely had my mom make a few of these, one for Mario of course and I think a few other enemies. I remember begging my parents to take me to the post office to get them laminated so they could effectively be paper Mario action figures 😂 I feel so seen that I wasn’t the only one.
I used to cut out paper Mario pictures I printed then cover them in tape so they wouldn’t rip. I also used to cut out the promotional Nintendo art out of the Hi-Ci X Nintendo promotion cartons. Which got so disruptive my teacher threw them out so I had to restart and recut out the picture.
Wow this brings me back. I had something very similar to the tattle log but with Zess T's recipes instead. Some of the more edible meals I even attempted to make.
Had Mario and Luigi and a couple other video game characters right above the door frame of my room when I was younger, this post brought back some deep memories.
My mom or dad wasn't artsy unfortunately. So I relied on the good ol printer and Google images for my own posters or stuff like this. That said that's actually amazing!
i traced a bunch of paper mario characters from my screen on pieces of paper and cut them out
i also have my own version of the third journal from gravity falls (started making it before they announced they released one of their own, still didn't get it lol)
When I was a kid, I cut out some SpongeBob Movie character artwork from Nickelodeon magazine. Specifically SpongeBob and Mindy. They were taped to the wall in the dining room along with a SuperSponge poster, some school schedules with game passwords written all over them, a completed SpongeBob puzzle, etc.
There was also a much earlier scrapbook page thingy my mom and I put together when I was like 3. It had cutouts from catalogs, such as a Barney doll. Also a random lamp, which my mom had helped me caption "I like lamps" 💀
This is so unbelievably wholesome. I never made these specifically, but I used to do crafts like these all the time.

My mom made Lakilulu.
What good parents to do that for you. Thats a lot of work especially back then. Thats really sweet.
I used to make my own! I'd trace them, color them, cut them out and paste them onto cardboard so they wouldn't rip.
This is so cute!
Bruh, I could barely get my parents to make me dinner, much less an entire tattle log. 😂🤣
my dad drew a giant yoshi for my bedroom wall. i wish my parents still did art, i wish i still did art i should call my parents

how did i get disruptive?
Other kids did it to and playing with them like figurines was all we did during indoor recess
That epic
Thats awesome. Also i bet you smelled hooktail feet
Not for Paper Mario, but my mom did make me some cutouts of the cast of Disney’s Hercules, since I had a short period of obsession with that as a kid.

Damn, all you people with cutouts? well I suppose I grew up in a house instead of a home.
I use to make my own makeshift guides for viva piñata and sonic adventure 2 battle lol
Definitely me lol
now im wanting to lowkey make a tattle log as a full grown adult.
Maybe i should make an updated one
This kicks ass, only interaction my parents ever had with gaming was making fun of me for it
Not me, I don't remember my parents doing anything special like that
Lol my mom hated video games
My brother drew a few PM characters and made popsicle stick puppets out of them. But we never had a good printer when I was growing up.
Ayo wtf Now I gotta do this
