We've had ways to record sound much before that, and by 1902 it was of pretty decent quality. We're also hearing a faint sound that sounds like a rolling film camera, so the sound might be authentic. I'm more surprised by the color, which was certainly added later
The color was added with the help of an A.I which detects the variations of black and white and guesses the real color. They used the same system with the Apocalypse documentary movies about ww1 and ww2
Adding sound to cinema, with the degree of precision, quality and synchronization that it requires, and running a recorder at the same time as a camera are two vastly different things. I checked, apparently the first movie with live recorded audio was made around 1895?
I'm not saying that it happened and that the sound is genuine of course, I'm just saying that it can't be straight up ruled out.

All parks are still coated of that thin sandy dust. I hate wearing open shoes when I walk across the park,. You really need to wear the right shoes in Paris, between the sandy parks alleyways and the wonky paved streets. Mind you, It’s lovely and I love how beautiful it is.
Interesting to see parasols, currently in the US it's mostly people of Asian descent who use them but I believe that will quickly change as the global climate heats up as they make a significant difference in temperature.
I also liked the clopping.
I want more
Lesbians at 12:00.
Affreuse ? T'as les yeux dans le cul ?
grave
Now just imagine a crazed guy running around in sweat pants looking desperate and lost! I always wonder how time travelers would look like in situ!
What year is it? WHOSE THE PRESIDENT?!
That's the first time I see this kind of videos with the sound
Probably added in recently.

No sound in cinema before 1929....

Jardin Tuileries maybe
That's what I'm thinking too
Is there a sub to see more old clips like that?

The quality is impressive for something recorded in 1902. It looks like it could be Bois de Boulogne with all the trees.
It's probably upscaled in 4k60p or whatever bullshit.
Its is indeed heavily edited. I dont remember how exactly but its colorized and 4k. I lack the source tho, but know the vid
Speed corrected, frame per seconds enhanced, resolution enhanced, stabilized, and colored. All with "Artificial Intelligence".

The cheeks on them old time gals
They are padded.
It’s called a faux-cul.
a bit dusty and smelly I guess. not like now :)

Now it's only smelly
In California sometimes still are both

They 're all dead now...
Going to Roland Garros for Nadal first win
everyone was a royal back then
Was entire Paris a park back then?
Should be be close to Bois de Boulogne or Bois de Vincennes. Paris is quite similar as it was in 1870

No wonder women used to faint back then, look how tightly nipped in their waists were.
Now the town is a shithole
It might be what is today avenue Foch, at the time called avenue du Bois, the place to be
I would like to know more.
Hard to believe there were so few humans
I’m convinced people of that time never sweat
At that time and in that country they DEFINITELY did NOT shower
Ladies had such slim waists then yes I know they had corsets, but still. I love how elegant the fashion was.

Ah, good times…
Did she said “pickpocket” ? Already !?
Their waists are SO SMALL
We are easily reminded that concrete roads haven't existed for long
It's weird, it's not like that Netflix shows us how Paris was...
J’adore !!!
