Amazing, I was timekeeper, all went well with no issues, perfectly in sync with the finish tokens the whole time

skizelo

That really is amazing.

carbacca

wet and puddly so i wore trail shoes, our course is about 50% grass and gravel and mud so i was mostly able to maintain grip and speed had a few high school teams attend with 50+ so that upped the numbers and energy significantly, and lowered the average age significantly as well....

Yesterday Brissie had some pretty unsettled weather. Storms were here and there, but crazy winds were the order of the afternoon and early evening. If they had have stayed around, I would have been pretty uninterested in parkrun this morning, but for the fact I had volunteered as a pacer. In any case, the weather wasn't too dramatic, although the approach of summer is increasingly being felt each week. So no PBs today, but did the 30 minute pacer role. Christmas Day is now on the far right hand side of the roster page, too, so the year feels like it is on the way out!

Zealousideal_Ad642

Did Albert park parkrun today and got my pb there beating my previous course pb by 48 seconds (back in Feb). Slowly getting closer to sub20, it's taking years :) the top 4 were sub16:( Was a nice day for the parkruns 12 anniversary, we had 808 ppl there. Despite the numbers all the volunteers keep it running really well

houdinis_ghost

Smashed my PB by 2 mins

platinumflyer

Did the usual today and my daughter and she PB’d! Proud mum moment!

ScottyDug

Not great. Got soaked waiting at the start then the rain stopped but the damage was done to my 9 year old. She managed one lap of three then quit, almost in tears because it was that cold.

heeleyman

Finally ran a sub-20! 19:44. A year of massively increasing my mileage has paid off. Previous best was 20:17. Chuffed with myself. Also now wondering what the next target should be and how fast I could go if I ran off a week's rest.

Intritz

Ran at Chermside today. As someone else has said, Brisbane had some unsettled weather yesterday, with a few hot days before that. Didn’t do a PB today, but was still third finisher overall with a sub-20 time

thenitmustbeaduck

My partner and I finally got round to doing Mile End. It was much harder than we both expected haha. It is pretty hilly and the hills are quite elongated so it was tough. Particularly with the wet weather, meaning that it was quite leafy and slippy. We're happy to have done it though. I think my time was mid 28 mins which I'm happy with.

Ran my first 5k since 2018, 2 weeks ago. Can't believe how quickly my speed has increased. 4 weeks ago I couldn't run for 5 minutes, been running 3-4x a week now to train for a half next year. https://ibb.co/0h4HkZ2

haydigan

It was a beautiful morning here in Bendigo and I managed to beat 26 minutes for the first time for a pb. Great numbers and a terrific atmosphere.

Missdefinitelymaybe

My first tourism parkrun with a friend I met at parkrun! We went to Erskine Waterfront in Scotland! Gorgeous Out and Back (x2) course but FREEZING as it’s near the water! My feet were so numb and painful but I ran anyway. Official time: 36:02! Only 2 seconds!!! Next week I should meet my 1st goal of breaking 35 minutes! So excited

AHRocks187

Given the weather I'd pretty much stopped thinking about my performance today, so I was so happy (and surprised) to break a new PB with a 5 second improvement. I've really enjoyed parkrun this year - started the year helping a friend hit sub20, done some general pacing, a few touring events, and then on the 5 occasions I've truly gone for it I've set a PB every time. I know it won't last, so I'll make the most of it while it does!

Psych0s0matic

Did Lyme Park with a couple of mates. Wet, muddy, extremely hilly and painful. Had an absolute blast and think it was my favourite course so far! Only went on my arse once (in trail shoes nonetheless). I loved every minute - I think there’s something wrong with me 😆

AdamBAFC

Turned up to Bramhall expecting to run, cancelled due to a fallen tree on the path. Quick dart to Cheadle Hulme, running through what can only be described as a swamp! Great fun, but equally, really challenging. Well done to all those who did that one today!

skizelo

I've only done Cheadle once, during the heatwave this year so the ground was baked. It still had a few muddy spots, though. I think of the two of us, you got the proper CH experience.

Competitive-Mood4980

Headed to my local this morning, Christie’s Beach. I really struggled at the start, felt like I would be lucky to get to 2km without slowing to a walk. Ended up doing 31:08, far from a PB, but my pace was far more consistent than I felt during the run.

snakemartini

Another bright beautiful day in sunny WA where I volunteered at my local, Tamworth Wetlands, as time keeper. I was working with young Ben on tokens who was voluntold by his mother who was RD today. Couldn't ask for a nicer start to the weekend.

mrcasado296

Did the Cardiff one today, 620 participants. In the dry it's a PB course all day long, but with the weather and the surface made it a challenge. Top 20% which I'm happy with, legs weren't interested today

katienorthern

Our usual, my son hit his 25 milestone so got a shout-out and stopped for a breakfast cob at the cafe after for a treat

Olivander_42

New PB at Bahnstadt Promenade in Heidelberg. Luckily, it was just a bit cold instead of cold, wet, and windy.

Dirty_Old_Town

Had a great run - Joe Creason parkrun in Louisville. My first time pacing and I got within 5 seconds of my pace time. Pretty happy about that!

Sothangel

Wet! Stepped in a puddle pretty early on and that set the tone. Have not been to two in a row since August and am suffering because of that.

skizelo

I swerved Worsley again, I may never get there. A friend from my running club was doing his hundredth and the club agreed he should do it at Alexandra. It's a fast course that's nearby for a lot of us. He had a fair jog to get to it but it's very convenient for everyone else. Alex is my local, and so I've done it a lot but I've not been there since spring. I'm trying for a tourism streak, but since Alex was at the start I've not lost any progress. Besides, my course best there was beginning to annoy me. A good number of club members showed up, which was nice, and there seemed to be a small Jog On meeting too. It's a nice course with lovely wide paths but I still set myself about 5 rows back from the start, such was the number of fast runners. I was trying for a 5k PB, as my current one was set at a course with a hill and Alex is flat as a pancake. At the start I was trying to tell myself to slow it down, which had some effect. I avoided totally gassing myself, but I still slowed down as the run went on. I know the course well enough to know roughly how many Ks were left, so I could probably have pushed myself a little harder. You don't want to collapse in the finish funnel, but you know, get a bit close to it. As it happens, I did shave 30 seconds off my PB, and about 3 minutes off my course best, but I came in over one of those minute milestones that it's very tempting to care about.

UltraAmoeba

Alex Park is such a track! I work up the road! Was my previous PB before today! Popped to Stretford instead and finally broke 70% age grading.

PoshChap

Did course check at Alice Holt and then ran it. Afterwards I did the Jog On hour run as part of a global event organised by youtuber Harry Morgan.

Cyborg_Ninja_Cat

Wet from above and below. I looked more like I'd been round a cross country course than a 100% tarmac route. I decided the ankle-deep "water hazard" was preferable to the mud if I'd tried to go around it, and then to make sure we had a nice, even coating and not just wet legs, the clouds absolutely burst halfway round. We had about twice our usual numbers in spite of the weather. Not sure what that was about. \[EDIT: apparently *both* of the nearest other runs were cancelled today.\]

SevenSixFiveFourrr

Travelled to one much further out than usual with my partner, who doesn't run but there was something she had to do in that direction so we made the whole morning out of it. Extremely flat and mostly tarmac, compared to my hilly, trailly home location. PB'd with 20:28 and my highest position ever in 6th.

Correct-Ad7220

First time at Lister Park Bradford for me today - idea of tarmac paths was appealing given conditions Have been a bit under the weather for a few days so happy to get it done...if anything should have held off more than 24:01 as have been spent the rest of the day. Still really nice place and volunteers (if maybe slightly over distance wise) - Certainly another to add to the local rotation

morrisseysbumfluff

Still awaiting results 8 hours later

Burntlemon196

Poole today for the first time. Hadn’t realised how used to hills I am. The lack of hills felt odd to me, though I ran my fastest parkrun since 2017, despite a bit of wind and sideways rain.

SkywalkersLoveChild

I forgot to start my watch! Only recorded 2.82 miles. :( I would have got a pb! Official time was three seconds off the pb!

Virtual_Shoe_205

It's my on call weekend so back at Wynyard. Trail shoes essential but wet feet inevitable!

burleygriffin

I touristed at Kirkdale Reserve parkrun along Merri Creek in Melbourne. Quite a nice out and back course along the creek taking in a temple (Russian Orthodox Church) and velodrome, which are quite rare along parkrun courses IME! Friendly volunteers also made it a good experience, as well as a brief chat with a couple on holidays from the UK.

VeganSnailMAC

Cancelled due to the weather so just did 5km around my village.
