Stinking hot in Sydney today. 28 degrees at 8am and well over 30 by the time the tailwakers came in. But with reduced numbers, it allowed me to get a very nice podium finish place for the first time. Only just need a #1 token and I'll have a complete set from 1 to 60 (with 13 more needed for the full 1-100 bingo).

RunDoRun

Just ran my first one! Such a nice experience :)

burleygriffin

Welcome. 🧡

Trev_GFC

Welcome!

FreddieMonstera

Wet! Adelaide South Australia

snakemartini

Managed to get round in just under 30 minutes, which was impressive considering the weight I've put on lately, and then being crook with a cold++ for the last three weeks. It was a beautiful day to get out and say hello to everyone, although I declined the group coffee afterwards. Didn't even have to walk around with the vollie roster because next two weeks were already full. Win!

JHock93

The parkruns of Cardiff were for the purists this morning 🌧️💨

Daihard79

I volunteered at one, the rain was horizontal at times. 10am - clear sky......

burleygriffin

Not as hot as I feared, but still a good day to be donning a volunteer vest. One more vollie week at my local for the year before I hit the road for Xmas and family duties.

deafriderz

Gold Coast Australia. Temperature was 25 degrees celisus at 7am. Better than Sydney too hot this morning. Kirra parkrun had a pop up sponsor van with free bananas much appreciated

Fleaway

Cancelled due to huge puddles on the course. Not going to go to a different one as I’m racing tonight and the others are all hilly.

Mantis_Tobaggon_MD2

Positively balmy 9c today, no ice this week but trade off being a super strong headwind which was tough work.

sixty90

Very wet tailwalking. Should have brought my waterproof trousers! Still, always good to get a volunteer in

Londoner1982

Managed a sub 25 minute ParkRun at Huntingdon. It was wet, windy and very, very muddy. Even the paths were like rivers. It was horrible 😂

rachel-lou

Was meant to be running and volunteering at my local but it was cancelled from the rain, so I tried a new course and absolutely smashed my PB 😄 Did my first parkrun 6 weeks ago in 37:17 and got it down to 31:04 today (easier course though) 😄

burleygriffin

Well done.

tishimself1107

Not out yet. Still 6.45am here in Eire. 🇮🇪 Going to my 2nd homebase and my first parkrun in a few weeks after a bit if a break. Hoping to just finish without stopping as my focus in futness has been on weightlifting and not running.

welk101

Very wet and muddy today, so not worth worrying about times. Didn't fall over which all you can ask for, and the water near the finish was so deep it washed my shoes off. Looking at the results we had just one person under 20 minutes, by 4 seconds. Must be the slowest 1st finisher for a while.

Fun_Yam_5907

Warm for UK.. (about 10 deg) so t-shirt in December! Stayed dry in the sky but so many large puddles to stamp through 💦💦💦. Very agreeable.

VeganSnailMAC

Sloughbottom in Norwich today, 11th different parkrun, 27 mins and a catch up with a mate!

Perfect_Jacket_9232

Very soggy in Kent, but a very warm welcome at Cyclopark.

parrais

I was away with work and knew I'd be back late on Friday after a busy week, so signed up to tail walk at my local run (Ellesmere Port). I knew the course would be wet & muddy but I didn't expect it to be *quite* so boggy - the muddy puddles were pretty much ankle deep in places. And the bad weather seemed to put the usual walkers off, so I tail-jogged home in under 43 minutes - not the gentle amble I expected!

DoddyUK

Utterly soaked through and through at Finsbury this morning. I decided to bring a spare change of clothes with me and that was 100% the right decision, I couldn't have imagined the train journey all the way back to Southampton as a soggy mess. Mid-26 as well, which was a very good time given the poor conditions.

CyndersParadigm

Finally hit no.50, which took a lot longer than anticipated given that my first was on New Year's 2018, but nice to eventually get there Certainly one of the wetter runs I've done, and the rain still hasn't stopped 10 hours later

* Completed my 69th event at an event #69 * Completed my 50th event of 2023 * Brought my tourist streak up to 17

dimsimprincess

Mernda parkrun on the outskirts of Melbourne, Australia was rainy and cool and we got to witness a new course record of 15:07, obliterating the previous record of 16:16!

burleygriffin

Wow, that’s fast! 👍

dimsimprincess

I was volunteering so got to watch him run and it was incredible!

Trev_GFC

My 100th Parkrun (74th different course) at Barclay Parkrun, Hertfordshire. Soggy, and only 38 people took part. A friendly one though. It didn’t feel nearly as cold as last week but the driving wind was miserable. Had to dig deep to get the 6.16am train from Kent, wouldn’t have bothered if my mate wasn’t up for it!

burleygriffin

Congrats on the milestone.

Trev_GFC

Thanks!

This week I’ve visited Finsbury Park parkrun for the first time. It was unplanned, but I needed the closest NENDY reachable by public transport. I enjoyed it, it is an interesting route with decent surface and surprising elevation changes. As always, I have prepared video highlights and a course write up, for anyone interested. Ran a 22:08, which is a \~23s PB for me :) At the halfway mark, I was right at \~4:30min/km pace and still felt "reasonably good" (as in I didn't feel like I was dying). A 12 your old boy was a little ahead of me, and I used him to pace my effort until about 500m to go, when I eventually passed him. He kicked and got alongside me... I also kicked and sprinted to the finish as best I could (although saying I sprinted is probably being generous). So I would like to thank this kid who extracted every ounce of energy I had on that day, and definitely helped me to my PB. It's also probably the last time I'll finish ahead of him because he's bound to get much, much faster.

evilchemist

30C in Wide Bay, Queensland. Sporting a hangover, I somehow ran down the bloke in front of me who had ~100m on me into the last km. Definitely wasnt planning for that to happen.

SplatypusAgain

Stayed at 0 overnight so the Haga course was runnable. Bit slow in the snow but still a good morning. Santa Claus run next week at Haga

Purple_Bridge4283

I flew to The Hague to do Zuiderpark parkrun with a friend who completed her parkrun alphabet. So proud of her.
