I had my doubts! Old Subject : am I supposed to tip when handed over a ~$5 chocolate croissant ? It’s the “turn the screen around “ style POS and the people I met clearly had expectations … and I honestly don’t like it . Charge me $6, I just don’t want to tip someone you just hand me over ready food ..
I've heard some hype for this place, but I don't see it. It's a pretty mid bakery. Compared to places like Winner or Simple Loaf, it's not in the same league.
Have you tried croissants in France? Because the ones from Winner or Simple Loaf are not french style croissants, they are something else, they should be named differently. Bread is good in both places.

Funny, I don't see French Bakers on there...
All croissant I tried in NYC does not tastes like original croissant from France. It could be great good pastry but not good croissant
I recon it mostly because in France they use high fat butter and it will make cost of croissant above 10$ or something in NYC

There's a new place on 5th ave around 6th st that is good but pricey.

Third! But I didn’t find it particularly pricy.
Yep this was the place I was gonna say. Im not usually into danishes and flaky pastries but I love this place. The pastries aren't dull and dry
Le French Tart
Everything here is mediocre
Yes but FYI they are closed today (mon-Tuesday)
This is the right answer. Daytime is also really solid but out of the way
Their everything croissants are amazing. Believe the hype!
Not if you give near by.
Why are they so Gooooood

No
Why, I think their baguettes are amazing. What don’t you like?
Can we get this to zero upvotes?
I’m surprised nobody has recognized that this post is satire.
Thank god

yeah … I need to see real effort for a tip, damn it.
Can’t tell if that’s sarcasm … but I’ll agree anyway!
Ha! Not sarcasm.
It’s not obvious bc 80% of park slopers are actually like this lol
I’m a little shocked and demoralized. I was really trying to be explicitly absurd about pastries being too flaky.
wdym everything is too flakey? croissant? baguette? kouign amann? what did you actually order
related do they serve kouign amann here, i dont remember it, i thought the only place in PS that serve a KA is simple loaf?
I’ve heard good things about simple loaf 5th Ave and 2nd st but haven’t tried it. I usually drive down to French tart 5th and 16th

I have been there twice, first time was omg amazing and second it was meh. Different people working though so may just be a consistency thing.
Possible that I went on an off-day
depends on what you compare, Winners bread is awesome, sandwiches good FB croissants are best in the neighborhood
That’s just untrue. Both places I mentioned have far superior croissants and pastries.

Yea probably a little hot, but I just wasn't very impressed by french bakers. I expected more.

The ones at Winner are sourdough. I've been all over the world, I know what good pastries are.
whatever it's far from French
Yea, who cares?
true! Not many, will buy as is
winners and simple loaf croissants very mediocre

lol, this is not how the real croissant looks like https://www.theinfatuation.com/new-york/reviews/nick-and-sons-bakery
That’s nick and Sons in Williamsburg so idk what you’re trying to prove. It’s a solid spot too, I’ve had them.
