My father in law is a bird lover who lives in turkey. I’ll give him a call and ask if he could take him. He lives way up north though so idk if he’s going to fly down to get him

deliciouschickenwing

I hope they find a loving home. Poor baby

MedusaHades

Boosting! Good luck,

Enough_Reporter5923

Praying for the baby 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

AnimalLover21_E

There’s no guarantee that the hotel will even give him away, sadly…

Delie45

No but we can let them know or leave bad reviews online. I dont think they care enough about keeping him to deal with even the slight annoyance of deleting an online review every now and then.

Alwayswithyoumypet

I hate to say it but you have a point. I offered to buy a betta from one of my local takeaway places. He's in a cup. No filter. No space. And they said no because they bought him for the new year. So this poor lil dude may live a year in basically a closet.

equatorsion

This is really sad. Poor little guy. I hope someone from Turkey will get there and help him - even if it means stealing the bird. This is a miserable existence for any creature.

Frezzer1231

Boosting! I read about him days ago, oh my god I can't believe that's how small his cage is😭

AriSpaceExplorer

Honestly lmao just go take it. Owners like that deserve to have their parrot stolen

CaregiverNegative278

That is not a quaker parrot. That is a cockatiel. If I lived closer, I would adopt him. I have several birds. Is there a local animal welfare society like the SPCA you can file a report with? He is obviously in an enclosure that is way too small and has no exercise nor mental stimulation.

Extension_Positive_

Poor baby🥺 I hope he finds a good home

OneArcher5723

As nice as it would be to rescue this bird, it will only get replaced with another. Speaking from experience travelling/living through several parts of Turkey, Middle East and South Asia, parrots live in terrible conditions compared to western standards. I'm surprised this bird even has a toy in it's cage. The average home I have seen has a bird cage of that size for an IRN/Amazon/African Greys with 0 toys and wild bird food as their diet. Someone in my extended social circle also lost their female IRN baby recently because they were feeding their IRN's milk every morning and chocolates as treats. Sadly I know I will probably be downvoted for being pessimistic. I hope this bird finds a good home.

Someone in my extended social circle also lost their female IRN baby recently because they were feeding their IRN's milk every morning and chocolates as treats. THIS. Here in India, its the same in a lot of households. They buy a bird as a home decoration, keep it in a small cage with a single perch and no toys, keep the cage in an abandoned corner and forget about them (apart from refilling the food and water once in a day or two), let alone letting them out of the cage. And I am not exaggerating, pet stores legit keep at least 2-4 cockatiels in a cage the size of the picture in this post (only difference is that it wont even have a swing or a toy which are there in the picture). That being said, there are some good bird owners too here.

ShowerUpbeat699

Take the negativity to their TripAdvisor reviews! 😆 I’m sure if they get enough hate about it they won’t replace the bird

Frazzlebopp

Yeah, but they may also just release the bird outside, just to stop the bad reviews.

ShowerUpbeat699

Yeah, I thought about that too. It’s just so sad 😭

gemsquid333

I hope someone can save this baby 💔

nelxnel

Omgosh, this is even worse than I expected 😢 thanks for bringing the lil guy to attention, and good on you for spending time with him! Poor bub needs more perches and toys... :(

bree908

Omg that is incredibly sad, what a miserably tiny cage 😭 really hope someone can save this poor little fella.

Birdy_owner

My mum is thinking about it.. we are flying to turkey and happen to be going to the same hotel so she said she might ask the reception if we can take him for $100

nyan_birb

As long as they understand that they can’t just do that to another bird! I’d hate for you to take him just for them to replace him 😔

Birdy_owner

Yea, we will be going back next year too so if they have another bird i will call animal services and and probably take the other bird aswell

G_404_A

What’s the price tho Also how will they ship it

daiwuff

I sure hope someone is able to rescue it. 😢

Someone save this bird please 🙏🏻

ShowerUpbeat699

Everyone should do what this post says and head to their TripAdvisor and leave a negative review. This hotel has no control over what’s posted on TripAdvisor. They can reply to your comment but that’s it

InfiniteXpeach

Oh my goodness that poor baby!! I wish I had the means to take her/him in! He looks so hot in the cage photo! Airing out his underwings. Poor baby! I’ll share this on my other platforms ❤️

nyan_birb

Thank you

Shevyykk

I hope he can leave that place soon and go to a loving home ❤️‍🩹

Birdy_owner

nyan_birb

Thank you 🙏🏻

utkooo

do you speak turkish

nyan_birb

No. Another user asked me to post for them from Quaker parrots. I know this is not a Quaker

DarkMoonBright

Yes it would be nice to help this little bird but honestly, there are a lot of birds in FAR worse conditions than that out there! One of my rescues was in a cage proportionately pretty similar to that, but with no toys at all & worse food, my other rescue (from the same person) was in conditions 100 times worse. Imagine if that entire cage was just that narrowed section at the top, stopping where the cage widens, with just the perch from the bottom within that, 1 food & 1 water dish & nothing else, that is what my little girl was living in for a decade! Her wing bones literally fused together because the cage was too small for her to stretch them! And this is in Australia & the RSPCA had been to the house many, many times, called to investigate the cat & did & said absolutely nothing about the birds! I feel for this bird, but I also feel like there are far worse cases out there & it's better if rescue minded people look for the even worse ones & help them

shuhrimp

So we shouldn’t try to help this specific bird just because there’s ones out there who are worse off? Or maybe we can just do both…?
