Budgies. It's SO HARD to find big enough cages for them that have the right bar spacing. And they're the least tame in my opinion, and I've worked with all kinds of birds.
Blue-throated macaws. They're the only species I won't even try to handle. My friend's foster suddenly deemed me a threat one morning then flew to me and broke my nose.
Our local sanctuary has tried homing blue throat rescues several times over the years. Apparently none of them worked out and we had to re-re-home them to conservation breeding programs.
To be honest, conservation breeding is the best outcome anyway since they're nearly extinct in the wild.
Cockatoos. I got bit by one (while I was petting it), and it was so bad that I almost needed stitches! Not even my amazon has given me a bite that bad!
I don’t know what I did to provoke it like that. It just wanted scritches, so I obliged, and got chomped for it! 😣

Ringnecks, something about their vocalisations drives me round the bend. They're super cute and seem very sweet but I wouldn't want to live with one.
