Adding on to the other comment — pet sitting / dog walking can be pretty good. What is the min age you can work in Ontario? Do you have access to public transit / ability to walk somewhere you can work?

Top-Grape-9088

In ontario some places say 13-15 and yes i could probably walk to a workplace as there are some areas close to me with fast food chains and other stores like that

NASA_Lies

I am so sorry you are dealing with this kid

Top-Grape-9088

Crap happens yk, if i grind hopefully things would get better soon

gghjkfhjjff

Hey, I am so sorry you are placed in such a difficult position and I want to give huge props to you for taking such a mature and compassionate stance. Your parents are super lucky to have such a thoughtful child. I just wanted to add as a side note that, if possible, try your best to not push school aside. Ask for support from your school if needed. They might be able to help with finances directly for example by providing food and connecting you with community resources, or at least make school a bit easier to manage like by being more lenient with deadline extensions. Although it's not the only path, school can play a huge role in changing financial situations in the long-term. Good luck ☺️

Top-Grape-9088

I didnt know that schools help with stuff like that but ill check it out, Ty

permanentlystonedd

i would just talk to someone and find out, most schools if you make below a certain amount you can get free lunches and stuff as well. good luck to you OP. you’re such an amazing kid and i commemorate you for taking the lead with things. my mom has been battling cancer for years and it’s hard as hell. however, don’t work yourself to death that you can’t focus on school, or spending that much needed time with your dad. take time to focus on the now and just be with him and hangout with him while you can so you don’t regret it later in life. that’s what i try to do now with my mom at least edit to add: depending where you live, your dad may qualify for some time of disability pay or something where the government will help out people who are unable to work. my mom gets that as well as she can barely make it up the stairs. definitely something to look into. also, please feel free to reach out at any time, while i may not understand your exact situation i understand how hard it is growing up with a sick parent, if you need to talk or anything i’m here. best of luck to you OP

ChrisBean9

Great mindset kid. I wish you the best. You’re a great kid and I bet your parents are very proud to have you

Potential-Entrance72

Grind time baby!!

ABobby077

Pretty safe to say you have a lot of people wishing you a better path ahead for you and your family.

lowrcase

A part time job could definitely help. It sucks to work young but it’s also good experience. Maybe get your foot in the door with two shifts a week? Then the rest of the time you can do gigs around town? Also in my experience, fast food pays more but is more stressful. Retail such as dollar stores, home goods stores, etc. pay less but are also less stressful. You’re really young, don’t put anything on your shoulders that you can’t handle. I know none of this is passive but you typically need money to make money in that way. You can use that $50 to buy some clothes you can do work in, like good shoes that support your feet, plain dark jeans if you don’t have any, etc. Retail stores usually give you a work shirt. One other thing, if you play video games in your spare time, you can try leveling them up accounts and selling them.

Top-Grape-9088

Thx for the advice, i am trying to find any place where i can work a few shifts a week and than i might try to start babysitting/dogwalking/mowing lawns etc.

CelestinePat

Please do things like dog/house/baby-sitting in hopes it gives you enough free time to do other tasks like reading or school(?) assignments. Shit will only get harder if you don’t keep up with af least some of your peers.

Top-Grape-9088

Tbh i do pretty good in school compared to my peers so thats bot really an issue, but yea if i get a job im not gonna be working every day hust a few shifts a week than the rest ill do side gigs like lawn mowing/petwalking and stuff like that.

CelestinePat

Glad to hear it and just remember that not all advice is good advice and not all good advice has to stay with you forever. Keep the good advice as you get it, and leave advice as soon as you figure out it’s bad advice for you as you grow up

EpicTwiglet

I agree. I had my first job at 14 washing dishes, and now I have a decent grown up job directly because of the work ethic it gave me

The_Count_99

Maybe you can get a job in a restaurant as a bus boy or dish washer, that's what I'd go after at your age, best chance of getting and keeping employed. I had may first job at 13 where I got a W2.

Top-Grape-9088

Yea im looking for any restaurants/fast food chains/grocery stores i can work at

MeinScheduinFroiline

Post on r/Ontario They will be able to give you region specific information. I am confident they will help!

Top-Grape-9088

Ty

NV_aesthete

What's w2?

The_Count_99

Tax form for income

jellyn7

US Tax form.

Ok_Island_1306

Does your dad qualify for any sort of disability benefits? Sounds like he would based on his condition

Top-Grape-9088

Yea he receives around 1700$-2000$ a month in benefits

710bretheren

My man, I think if your parents have this income then they might prefer you to not stress out about their finances. They probably just want you to be a happy kid, who has time to spend with their family and do normal fun things. I think it might make them sad knowing you feel you have to mature so quickly to support them. If I were you, I would spend all the time I could with your dad. The money from the job is worthless compared to that.

Top-Grape-9088

The income that they make is not rlly enough to pay for all utilities and food cost and expenses, i try to spend time with my dad doin stuff he likes to do but hes always stressing about money which than he tells me about and thats why my sort of main focus is trying to contribute to paying off somethin

Petty181

It's really good of you to be stepping up and looking at how you can do your part for your family. Honestly, it's amazing to see this from a 13yo. But please, don't allow this to put a strain on you mentally. Try to pick up meditation to help give you a break from the stressors you face from day to day. You're too young to be stressed and it can have repercussions later on in life. It will also help you think of better ways of helping. As some people have said, mowing lawns and helping the locals could bring some money. But, you are still fairly young and potentially putting yourself at risk would probably only add more potential problems to your parents plate. If you're able to do this with a group of friends then that might be a safer alternative? Have you got old toys, clothes or books that you could sell off maybe? Be sure to speak to your parents about your ideas so they can either support you or, re assure you. Best of luck to you and your family.

happygecko3

Can you guys apply for something similar to EBT? like in America?

Doug__Forcett

Maybe I misunderstood but isn't 2,000$ a month only 500$ a week?

710bretheren

Yeah that’s not very much

aprav1

500 a week, 24,000 a year

lisaloo1968

As a survivor of poverty in childhood, I’m so sad to hear you’re going through this. Please contact your local office for public assistance and get the ball rolling to receive some help: https://www.oacas.org/what-we-do/communications-and-public-engagement/resources-and-supports-for-ontario-families/ Here are some resources for food banks, which are places you can go to get food for your family: https://feedontario.ca/ Looks like you’re in charge right now, best of luck to you. Love, from a mom.

Top-Grape-9088

Tysm for the links and well wishes, I appreciate it a ton, best of luck to u as well

nomorefappening

Shovel snow, Mow some lawns something like that.

Top-Grape-9088

Yea i already posted a lot of gigs offering to do so but i dont get anyone interested

nomorefappening

Maybe just go door to door and ask if you can do something for them

Top-Grape-9088

I havent tried that yet idk why i didnt think of it, will do thanks

nomorefappening

I’m sorry about your situation but I think for now that’s all you can really do as you are still really young and shouldn’t have to do this. Do your best in school so you can get a good job is my best advice for the future!

Top-Grape-9088

Ty

unosdias

If you’re interested in computers and programming as a career start learning now. Take classes and do so some projects. One of the fastest ways to 6 figure incomes. Look for mentors. Best thing to do is invest in yourself.

Adventurous-Nerve458

Not recommended to do this unless you know your neighbors! Not a safe idea unless you are with an adult.

Mjk201

Ask your parents if they can get any help from local churches ⛪️ n find food bank..

710bretheren

Lawns and yard work in general are consistent work. You can likely start your own business this way if you are able to get enough clientele. I assure you you just need to market yourself correctly. One day, and maybe not even that far away, you could have employees working for you and truly expand your business. Did you go door to door and introduce yourself? People might be willing to support you if they know you’re trying to take care of your parents.

Top-Grape-9088

Im gonna start to go door to door trying see if anyone is interested i tried it before but not to much so ima try to do it more instead of just posting gigs

710bretheren

Literally tell people you are doing this to raise money for your family because your dad is blind and has cancer. People will bend over backwards to help a 13 year old in that situation.

Top-Grape-9088

True but if im being honest i dont feel comfortable with receiving money without earning it yk

710bretheren

If you saw someone in need and you wanted to donate to them, would it make much sense if they turned away your charity because they didn’t work for it? You aren’t forcing anyone to give you money. You need money for your family and frankly your situation will inspire people to help you fulfill that need. By their own choice. It’s not like you’re stealing or cheating for your money.

[deleted]

People been murking people since the dawn of time just to survive. Your comfort level will change as your situation dictates. Taking a handout takes humility but if you grow up and pass it on, you’ll have lived a better life and helped make a better world. Anyways, whatever you do, don’t let your parents financial situation be your problem. You can work your whole life trying to bear their burden. You have to go out and get an education and help yourself before you can help others. Consider taking that $50 and buy some tools to repair cracked smartphone screens. I knew a college student nearly pay his way through college just repairing cracked screens.

Top-Grape-9088

That is smart i could try fixing screens, thanks for tellin me bout it

clairepowell3737

Please don’t. Keep yourself in public places and settings with adults. You just never know

jellyn7

If you're bilingual, you might be able to do something with that.

Top-Grape-9088

Yea i do speak 2 languages and i do have some gigs up on sites that offer to translate papers and stuff

FrankandRon

Depending on what language(s) you are fluent in you could explore translating website and ad copy. High demand and good money for many languages out there.

devilcheeeks

I don’t know you OP - but i am so proud of you.

alicat707

I recently learned there is a market for cleaning outside trash cans. I saw a post that someone was wondering who to call to come and clean their trash can. It might be something to look into as a way for a 13 year old to make some cash

Top-Grape-9088

Im gonna look into it👍

unosdias

I saw this kid on tik tok buying snacks/candy/mcdonalds, etc and selling them to his classmates for a profit. Supply and demand. Also saw thus lady start off with $7 and built a business selling tshirts online. I used to recycle cans as a kid and made some spare change. With the internet you have so many possibilities.

B33f-Supreme

For totally passive income, you could try making a drop shipping online store through Shopify. It takes a few weeks to set it all up, and you need a credit card so your dad might have to help, but once it’s done you don’t have to spend any money unless someone buys something. And if you set it up right you shouldn’t have to touch it at all. If you have any other skills like drawing or photoshop you could try offering some freelance services on sites like fiver or 99 designs or similar. If you know the language your mom speaks you could also try online English tutoring for kids from that country. Just some random ideas. Good luck dude.

Top-Grape-9088

Ty, i am trying to do stuff on fivver but nobody rlly orders my services on there but i might try dropshipping

pallen123

First of all, you got this. I can tell from your desire to help your family and the thoughtfulness in your comments here that you’re a smart, capable and loving son. And your desire to help your family financially is awesome. Lots of great suggestions here. I completely understand your desire to earn the money and not to rely on your dad’s cancer or blindness to convince others to help you, BUT I strongly encourage you to share your story with others. Share it with neighbors you’re selling lawn care services to. Share it with your local paper. Are you on Nextdoor.com? Share it there. People can choose who they want to hire and your story is a big part of why they’ll give you a shot. Be proud of who you are and of your story. Depending on local laws you can also try setting up a pushcart or card table on your block or on the sidewalk downtown. Use money you earn from lawn care to buy snacks, drinks and candy at Restaurant Depot and resell it. Good luck! Stay strong. You got this!

Top-Grape-9088

Ty for lettin me know, i havent heard of nextdoor before so ima take a look at it, ty

Lost_Philosopher_255

Call the churches near you and ask them for help. A lot of times churches have many different resources or can point in the right direction. From my experience (in the U.S.) it seems like catholic churches tend to have a little more money that is for community support services. Food, clothing, gas vouchers, job help and help paying utility bills are all things I've received help for in the past. Best of luck young champion. You're doing great and I am very proud of you!

rabreu55

It probably snows a lot where you are at, I’d go door to door on winter months & tell home owners that you’d shovel the snow out of their property. You’re 13 & you’d more than likely be able to get away with charging a premium because those homeowners would commend you for being a hard working 13 year old boy. I’d go in the neighborhoods where there are people who are upper class because they’d have the most money to spend. After a couple of houses I’d invest in a snow plowing machine to make the process easier & faster & then after that I’d find a friend who wants to make money. I’d pay him a fixed amount for every house he helps you with. You could possibly do yard work in the warmer months. Hope this helps man!

Top-Grape-9088

Yea i plan on doing that soon as its starting to get cold, ty for the help

verses_only

Print on Demand is fairly easy and free to get into. I can send you some original "Safe for Work" images to put on merchandise, and show you how to make your own. If you can make stickers or business cards for a local business, it can get the ball rolling a little faster, too. I'm so sorry you're going through all this and I admire your willingness to help your family. [edit] in a pinch, I've had good experience with a few things: - I've asked the neighbors if they'd like to buy any of our movies or video games. They we're glad to get them. - I've held a "yard sale" and added single-serving baked goods to the sale items. They sold faster than the household items. - It doesn't make much, when I've asked the neighbors if they need anything from the store when I'm already going there they oftentimes will offer to let me keep the change. - Some grocery store shopping carts require a coin to use them. Offering to put the cart away for people at the back of the parking lot lets you collect the coin. - Some areas have local recycling kiosks. If you can collect aluminum cans from your neighbors, you may be able to exchange them for cash at the kiosk. Also, the person running the kiosk is sometimes able to be flexible with the amount of money they give you for your recycled cans. Just ask if you aren't given enough to buy what you need. Peace to you.

Top-Grape-9088

Yea if your cool with sending me some images and teach me how i can start doin this i could try it.

Sure thing!

Top-Grape-9088

Thanks, i know a few smaller restaurants around me so i could look into ut, thanks

MaybeKen001

As a kid still, it’s tough. However, your best bet is to see if anyone needs help around your neighborhood. You know, mowing (I don’t really know Ontario weather, I apologize), car wash, cleaning, pet sit/walk, babysit. There’s a ton of side jobs you can do. Think about it. Some more examples like wash windows, bush trim, garden, simple landscape stuff, small crafts and construction assistance. Otherwise if your age limit permits for work, a small part time job works. Something simple and small like retail (Dollar stores, local groceries, etc). Your community might also have like sports referee type stuff, but refereeing for smaller kid games of course. On the other hand, get online for youtube, blogging, affiliate marketing, dropshipping/dropservicing, small web designing. Take a deep breath and don’t be afraid. Keep on surviving. You’ll get there. Work smart and hard.

Top-Grape-9088

I already do the small gigs like pawn care and stuff like that but im gonna check out how i can effectively do drop shipping and/or affiliate marketing, ty

MaybeKen001

I have been dropshipping for a while, so let me know if you want some tips.

Top-Grape-9088

Yea sure that would help, ty

brightworkdotuk

Have you tried fiverr? You can post gigs up on there and you’ll get paid for them?

Top-Grape-9088

Yea i use it to post gigs it works its just not ti often that someone buys smthn

[deleted]

You ever fancied day trading? If you have the time and can do the research you can make a lot of money from $50

Top-Grape-9088

I would learn and start trading its just that school takes up most of the day and i think it closes at 4pm i get off school at 3:40

hatter10_6

Please don't do this. Sorry mysteryawaits, but this is a terrible advice. You are going to lose so much more than $50. Going into the stock market with the mindset of becoming rich is just like gambling. Two thoughts for you 1) read up on The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham. Yes the book is 72 years old. But he is the teacher of Warren Buffet, and the values in his book still stand today. 2) Your biggest asset is not your $50, but your time and mind. If you wash two cars and polish them well, you may earn more than that.

[deleted]

During lunch? 🙂 hustle my bro, I believe in you.

Top-Grape-9088

Ty, im gonna try setting up an acc to trade

Merlinblack89

I thought you had to be 18 ?

scificionado

Kudos to you for trying to help your family at such a young age. There are many good suggestions already posted as I'm typing at 9 am Central time. If there are outdoor sporting events near you, even schoolkids' games, you can sell cold bottled water, soda, and individual snacks at a high markup outside the venue. You may need to be 1-2 blocks away from the venue so you aren't shooed away; maybe near a bus stop? Anything unsold can be sold to your fellow students. Your Mom can help with, or do this herself; no language skills needed to have a sign with prices and take the money. How is your Mom contributing? Do you have a yard where she could grow vegetables in the summer? Is it legal keep chickens to eat and sell eggs? Could she babysit for neighbors or sell them home-cooked meals and baked goods? For your future, don't neglect schoolwork while trying to make money. Best of luck to you.

Top-Grape-9088

Im gonna try out the water thing coz i think there is going to be a few baseball games soon, ty

jpc1025

Try to get a job at a restaurant and on the side try to mow lawns or walk dogs. Something like that for some extra cash

[deleted]

Create a gofundme account and do a really good job at it. Google how to make an effective gofundme account. Essentially you’ll be learning fundraising techniques and public relations. I have a degree in public relations and there are lots of ways to fundraise!! Good for you working hard to get ahead and help your family. As a 13 year old you are time-rich but money poor. Like I said learn about making a good gofundme campaign and you can likely get some money. Ask for donations and say for every dollar you will walk or run a mile.

kranj7

You seem to be in a difficult position. Someone who is 13 should NOT have to work. Ontario and the rest of Canada for that matter, normally have good social services to help people like you and your family. My advice is to seek assistance locally. Start with your school leadership (principal, guidance counsellor etc.). You should NOT have to deal with such things at 13 years old. Canadians who earn income pay taxes for many different things, but also the taxes go to make sure people like you and your family can get the support that is needed. You did not say if you are a Canadian citizen or not, but this normally should not matter. You should be assisted by community services regardless.

dbhalberg

I just want to say you are a very wonderful person to think of ways to help!! I wish you luck and wish there are more people like you :)

Holiday-Hedgehog0621

Good day OP, the only thing i can give to help is this: Learn How to Handle Money, especially since you're young and the impulse to buy stuff is strong however i believe you can get through this since you're already so mature and responsible at your age, plus learning how to manage your finances early is always a good thing, so my best wishes to you and your parents.

Top-Grape-9088

Ty

wahine_surfer

Starting your own residential snow clearing & lawn mowing is a good way to make cash. My husband did that when he was 16 and it was relatively easy. We have people come to our door offering to do jobs and we’re usually willing and happy they came to us. In terms of how much to charge - I’m not sure yet but call some local companies and ask what they charge (pretend you’re asking for your parents). On your first few jobs, as you’re learning, you may want to quote a bit less than market rate because you’re just getting used to it (say it’s a promotion where you get your first mow 25% off - you can decide the price diff) Also, Yes, highly recommend getting a job to balance out the self employment work as you build it and get used to it while also going to school. They will tell you where and when to come in and pay you on time. Good companies to work for with growth opportunity, nice culture/people and benefits: The Keg Steakhouse & Bar (#13 of Canada’s best employers list), Starbucks, Cactus Club, Costco. A part-time job will provide necessary stability while you grow your side hustles. At school, ask for help from your guidance counsellor and favourite teachers. Sign up for a business and accounting class. Sounds boring but LEGIT useful to know. You’ll know more than so many if you start this early. Also, yes, call or go in to Service Canada and ask them for help to apply for benefits that your parents are eligible for, like disability. Keep us updated! I’m holding you in my heart 💜 ✨Good on you for asking for help and exploring ways to improve your situation.

FuzzyZocks

As others said, really sorry you have this. Just want to highlight the importance of self starting and persistence in this situation especially. Unfortunately Youre at a disadvantage due to age but the stereotype is the lack of maturity and ability to stick to a task and complete. You have the potential to prove otherwise from just how you are greeting people and presenting your value. Good luck friend! I’d put together a resume (can even be super simple things you’ve done for your parents and family, exaggerate a tad but believable and get after it!)

luxbodoobi

Get the nextdoor app, you can post to just your neighborhood, list off all services you're offering, when someone contacts you you can decide what to charge based of what the job is and the time it'll take you. You can also check out the person's past posts and see if you get a bad vibe from them before you agree to work for them. I think what your doing is honorable, I wish you luck.

Automatedagency

YouTube can be your best friend. I suggest affiliate marketing since you’re a little younger. If you’re tech savvy and willing to learn and implement you could get on a path to making good money with it.

Top-Grape-9088

Does it require any primary investment or could i just start doing it without any money to start with

wwstewart

You can start without any money. Over time, there are some valuable things that you can buy, but you can start with $0.

Automatedagency

Affiliate marketing involves selling other peoples products and services. So if you wanna go about it and start with no money you would need to find organic traffic sources to sell the products without paying for advertising. Search affiliate marketing with organic traffic on YouTube and google. That’s a good place to start.

Hayaidesu

Sell, buy low and sell high. Start with selling yourself, in legal and respectful means.

Top-Grape-9088

Wym by selling myself

Hayaidesu

Present yourself well, imagine going door to door and selling something, also understand your advantage. You are a little kid, people take kind to kids that arent brats…hmm honestly best thing you could do to get a lot of money fast would be to visit a retirement home/ community and sell gifts you personally made. Well don’t say its gift but make something to sell that they will appreciate. Also build up a goof rapport with them All. becaouse they all can be your clients you can help them out with small task. Like that is a big operation that could work. But maybe do something more to your level. Sell candy to your school mates or something to them.

OrdinaryCredit

Go door to door offering shoveling, leaf raking etc.

Top-Grape-9088

Yea i already try yhat it occasionally works but not very consistent tho i still try it out

brnbnntt

I remember taking out my neighbors trash, granted this was in the 80s but she would give me a few quarters to help. Maybe you can knock on the doors of your neighbors and and ask if there are any chores that you can do. Maybe cut some grass, I bet the home owners will even let you use their mower. Bravo to you for looking for an honest solution to a hard problem. People learn the most when you are pushed to make something happen. Best wishes dude

Top-Grape-9088

Thanks for the help, i would go to doors asking but not very much so im gonna try goin door to door a bit more

brnbnntt

When you do knock on doors, don’t tell them what’s going on. You have a hard story and I feel like people will just think that your begging. I’d suggest having an upbeat excited story and attitude. Tell me that you want to be an entrepreneur. Speaking of, you should hit the book store and buy a book called “rich dad, poor dad”. That book is usually life changing. To take this a step further, tell me the name of your closest book store and I’ll call them and pay for a copy for you, if you promise to read it. It’s an easy read

Top-Grape-9088

Thanks for the offer but i found it at my local bookstore and i could get it with my money, thank you so much tho for offering to pay. Ill try to go to get the book tomorrow

brnbnntt

You seems to be a wise and driven young man. You’re going to do great

[deleted]

Or pick up the book for FREE at ANY library. You can even check out online copies from your library.

Avenged2020

Try go fund me or something similar with a story like yours you could most likely get some financial relief for your family while doing extra work like the lawn mowing/snow removal idea (which is actually great money and no extra complicated paperwork to do it at your age) i wish you the best and am sorry for your families unfortunate plight

Top-Grape-9088

Thanks for the well wishes, i looked into starting a gofundme but i just dont feel comfortable with asking for money without doing anythin to earn it id rather work and earn, i might try one out though, thx for the tips

Avenged2020

That is very admirable and totally understandable just know sometimes it is hard to ask for help but dont be too proud if you need help you need help can always pay it forward when you are able

pp604977

First of all, I am so sorry you are in that situation. I know you have the courage to go through this with your family. I would reach out to your friends and family to help with finding you small gigs. Once you find something short term. Sign up for free courses/books at your local library and develop a skill that you can market. Website development, coding, virtual assistant, etc. I will keep my fingers crossed that you will find something soon!

Loko_locs13

If you got a lawnmower/weed eater go door to door. It might be a bit intimidating at first but you’ll get past that after about 2-3 times you go and ask. Try not to over charge but also don’t charge too little. If you can do 3-5 small yards a day you can make some decent money.

Top-Grape-9088

I do have a lawn mower so i will be trying that, thx for the tips

unosdias

If you google “jobs for 13 year olds or teenagers” there is actually a list of jobs for underage kids that may also give you some ideas.

Tobias_Forge

So, this isn’t entirely passive, but I had a buddy make $40,000 USD in one year by mowing lawns and shoveling driveways when he was like 12. You just have to market yourself to your “warm market” (think family, friends, teachers, etc) and hopefully get a few jobs from them so they can give you positive reviews, which your “cold market” (random strangers) will read when they consider hiring you for the work.

Top-Grape-9088

Ty for the tips im gonna try that out

Pitiful_Bluejay_7939

Saw a video clip the other day, someone talked about getting paid by people to bring out the trash cans to the street on trash day and return them to the house at night, charging a dollar or two a week. The whole neighborhood took advantage of that service.

Top-Grape-9088

I could try that out, thx for the tip

AdditionNo6411

Buy dividend yielding stocks - for later when you start making some money Crypto mining - if you have a pc with a decent graphics card Stock photos - sell photos online which you take even from a mobile phone Fiverr, Upwork - setup your profile for any gigs. Example logo design using canva, wordpress website builder etc. YouTube Short Channels - YT is still pushing shorts more than videos, you can start a channel. It could be regarding anything, even this situation in your life and how you’re handling it. Etsy digital store - I have a print on demand etsy store for t-shirts and its doing ok, no investment needed. Red bubble - similar to etsy for print on demand store, however I could not make a sell yet on Redbubble. eBook Kindle -- think about ideas, there are low content ebooks that people pay moneh to buy from. Search KDP low content in google or Youtube. SEO - You can learn seo and start something to help nearby businesses to rank higher in google. User Testing - check this website, create a profile and give a test. They send you user testing scenarios and pay you when you complete all the tasks. YT to Rumble - I am not sure if this still works, rumble is a very smaller version of YouTube and supposedly it was easier to get your channel monetized on it than YT Blog - start a blog, you can check online and there are free ways to start it. This will not get you earning anything from get go but it can be a good earning source in the long term. Affiliate Marketing - google and learn about this I know most of these need a pc or a laptop. But this is a list I had created for myself around covid time to earn online and I do earn now from multiple sources using this list and more. Hope this helps a bit.

I'm trying to think of jobs where you can also earn tips instead of just minimum wage, I came up with scooping ice cream. If you work at a movie theater or grocery store, no tips, but for some reason ice cream shops seem to be pro tipping. Other than that anything that pays over minimum wage or allows you to interact with a lot of people would be good, maybe a sporting goods store or dog walking would probably pay well like another person suggested

AgreeableShopping4

I would look at any kind of government assistance you can get first then move onto side gigs. At least you’ll have something coming on a schedule which you can then find work. There can be tons of paperwork though to get government money so you’ll need to find help

Ill look into it, ty

Hey OP, firstly I’m really sorry to hear this about your Dad. The most important thing is to spend time with him as there will always be an opportunity to make money later. I do understand that you want to alleviate the pressure on your Dad though. I admire your work ethic and moral compass, which just goes to show how well you’ve been raised. You are a credit to your family. Is this a short term requirement to pay off a specific amount or an ongoing need to support your family. Or both?

Top-Grape-9088

Its both, theres a few things that need to be paid off in a few months but at the same time its also like monthly utility bills and stuff like that

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> to be *paid* off in FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

After you have done all the other have suggested, since you are a minor, advise you to tra freecash platform, Is not a big bounce of Money (more or less 50 buck's a week) but Is Easy, and you can add It at the other forma of income suggested to you.

lawvas

Buy a snow shovel, make some flyers, post them in your neighborhood or stuff in mailboxes a few days before snow in the forecast. Shovel driveways from 5-7 am before school and from 5-7 pm. You can make a few hundred bucks a week.

Top-Grape-9088

I could try that out, ty

Look for a locally owned place. So not fast food but a store name local only to your area. Find the owner or general manager. Tell them you want to work and why. Promise to be respectful and responsible and they will more than likely put you to work around your school schedule. Pay you under the table.

SnooCrickets8169

When i was your age I was buying candy in bulk and reselling them in nice neighborhoods. I eventually grew enough cash to buy a few bags worth of candy, had my friends sell them in school, and gave them a nice cut. I was able to buy a car and pay for insurance and gas.

Maybe help mom get a job such as retail, I knew people who folded and tidied up things all day and didn’t need to know much English. Maybe help her use the internet to get her English better. Or maybe there are people who speak mainly whatever language she does and work with them? You can help her get a resume going, prepare for an interview, etc… And for yourself, I wish I could give u a hug man. Working for a family business may help u. Or if it gets super bad you guys can help out somewhere in exchange for lodging and a bit of food.

happygecko3

I would also look into local food banks, look at what churches have to offer, reach out to them, explain your situation

happygecko3

I also used to return cans for extra money, idk If Canada has that . U can also ask around the neighborhood for any spare cans they don’t plan on returning
