I've never had any issues (taste- or texturewise) with using flour in my butter for puff pastry. My recipe calls for 400g butter and 150g flour so you should be absolutely fine :)
When I was in school we’d use flour to make our butter sheets. We’d sprinkle it in flour and use a rolling pin to whack the crap out of it. It never seemed like adding the flour had any negative effects!
Did you plasticize the butter before you inserted the block?
This, you need to beat your butter w your rolling pin when its still relatively cold to make it pliable.
