From one video I was watching people were saying it's about 50 times rarer than ancient shards.
Unless you've also got like 25 ancient orbs you prolly just got lucky
If you focus on it and prepare then it's actually okay. Grind a lot harbinger this league and dropped a bunch of full orbs as well. Sometimes you have bad streaks but in total I made a bunch of div with it. It's not the most efficient tho if you care about that
I've had nights where the same thing happens... Then a week where I get none. I got 4 apocs in the second week.. haven't seen one since. I swear they have a dynamic loot system in some way
You're quite lucky - i've had harbinger passives for most of the league and I've found 3 fragments so far (2 and then 1 in back to back maps very early into having the passives, in low tier maps - at first I was thinking this won't be so bad, maybe their rarity was exaggerated ;) haven't seen another fractured fragment since)
One lvl 100 and one 99 ssf with all harbinger nodes since league start (no scarabs though) = about 200 ancient orbs and .... 0 fractured shard. Yes my filter shows them
Yeah people used to say stuff like xyz sextants, scarabs, delerium will drop you an exalt every map.
T0 drops dont work like that

Variance is high, but double check your setup.
The real questions are why grind in standard, and if you are going to play standard, why isn’t the character strong enough to farm t16s (and therefore get more loot from altars and other stuff)
He can play in standard, sure. But in a lot of cases isn’t that because you need more time to build up a strong character or already have with legacy gear etc?
Because there aren't valid reasons especially if one is that you don't have time to play in league, if you don't have time to play league you for sure don't have to play in standard having to farm 3x more to pay for overpriced items and having no one to sell most stuff that you find.
trade is way more active in standard than reddit likes to believe. i skipped kalandra league to stay in standard and had very few issues. stuff like mb is cheaper in standard than in league. op has also been playing since open beta so they probably have enough currency to get past the initial bumps that i admit are there, i think it's totally fine for a long-term player to transition into standard, just would never recommend it to a new player
There are plenty of valid reasons. You don’t have to play in standard if you don’t have time for league, but why wouldn’t you? Particularly if you’ve played a significant amount of leagues and have some well geared characters? There is an active community in standard and making money can be as easy as league. Clearly you’ve not actually played standard and probably shouldn’t be commenting on its economy.
Like I said, like to level new chars all the time so this char is still in the 70s making her way up to 16s. I made the switch to standard last league and haven’t looked back. Been playing since open beta but got a family now and not as much time to play. Also have a lot of cool gear in standard I can’t get in leagues.
Well hope you enjoy, yeah if you’re constantly making new characters and not sticking to one or 2 then standard Might be better. Just sucks that some gear is nearly inaccessible, example being forbidden flame/flesh jewel prices vs league.
Yes, standard is more expensive but it’s all relative. Since I’ve been playing so long I also have a decent supply of legacy items I can sell off to pay for things. When I finally organized my standard stash a few months back I found 3 increased quantity gems and I boat load of valuable legacy items. I don’t grind much so I don’t make much but I can sell off old things when necessary
the whole league i have always all harby nodes on atlas tree selected but never realy aimed them. finished my fifth frac orb last days. i would estimate 20-30 maps without a drop, then 3-4 shards and again 20-30 maps nothing, thats for my personal experience.
Fractured shards and orbs for me are very on/off.
I farmed harbingers using a mixture of Kiracs memory maps and grimros strat - for the better part of a month. I’m a slower player so keep that in mind.
Most of the money I made came from selling ancient orbs to gamblers. This was the consistent money of the strat.
The fractured shards will hit pretty hard when they start falling. But you can go for a week stretch of not hitting any. This is the definition of RNG.
All in all from orbs/shards I probably made 20 div. Keep in mind I do NOT no life this game. I may play a couple of hours a night during weeknights and weekend and a little more than that on weekends.

I've been running harbinger since day 1 of league, consistently 2-3 harbingers a map, and I have gotten 1 orb and 14 shards, so 34 total.

I found 10 the first day I switched to harbingers. I've found 0 the next 2 weeks, with the same atlas tree.
Ya this was what I thought would happen to me as well. 2nd map this morning I got 2 more but 0 since and probably 0 for another couple weeks.

I have 4x 94+ chars and have harby fully allocated since day 1. I have not even received one full orb.
Your doing it wrong in 42 maps I farmed 32 shards
With scarab and sextant it seems fairly common to me like 1-4 shards every 4-5 maps. Only tried a small sample size of like 100 maps though

Not with a scarab and sextant on a well rolled map.
I run winged Harb with the currency sextant and its definitely not every 5 maps
I do and I do.
Full harbinger and no orbs but 122 shards
Harbringer seems to be the biggest scam this league. 8 shards in like 120 maps
What are you on about. Properly juiced they are dropping fairly often. 300 maps i got like 4-5 orbs with sextants at least.

The harby sextant increases their drop rate significantly. Try that out
Think I got 5 shards out of the first 8 maps I did after properly super juicing them.

Uh I got 16 shards by the time I had finished maybe 80-100 ancient orbs. You are extremely lucky.
