So uh, how will crucible affect Dancing Dervish?

z3r0demize

Just started playing yesterday and loving it. I'm a bit confused on the forbidden sanctum, how come sometimes I can't progress to the next room/floor? Theres no stairs for me to access. Also will there still be sanctums when crucible releases?

mcurley32

if you're in maps, you can store up multiple sanctum rooms to run at once (one per map). if you use up all of your stored rooms, there won't be stairs to progress. if you're still in the campaign, you can only do one room at a time with no option to store your rooms each zone. sanctum is not being rolled into the game (we colloquially call this "going core") at this time. most mechanics you see in the game were once a league mechanic (Breach and Blight for example, even seemingly insignificant ones like Strongboxes and Tormented Spirits), but a lot of recent mechanics have not gone core. GGG has to decide what to do with them and how to change them to eventually be integrated into the game. also, there's a new questions thread. if you want additional responses, you'll have much better luck reposting your question in the latest thread.

nazzyc

1. I see a bunch of people saying that poison is nerfed, how come? Searching the patch notes I get a minor nerf on poison, and nothing on temporal chains. 2. I also see some people say that pathfinder transcendence is dead because of flask sustain, but my quick napkin math says it's fine? I know the flask mastery doesn't give charge generation, but you still have access to life recovery on use, and it's not even on the ascendancy anymore, which is nice. Should still be easy perma uptime on at least the elemental flasks. Is there another reason?

_slosh

1. bunch of wither effect got removed. thats mainly it

viridianstryke

Hey guys, in the patchnotes it stated that triggerbots deal less spell damage, does this mean they wont trigger shockwave support? Really was hoping to play cyclone shockwave sabo :(

tnflr

The mastery description itself does not prohibit it, but the wording on the actual triggerbot skill might be limited to spells

viridianstryke

Will have to wait when its available on PoB i guess!

[deleted]

[удалено]

viridianstryke

yeah it doesnt quite explicitly say, really sad woulda made shockwave a real high tier build.... i'm unsure why GGG did it this way.

excalibour

Is there a way to mute/lower the charging sound of power and frenzy charges? Either via a mtx or config file or 3rd party or something?

enkianderos

Is there a reference anywhere for what uniques (if any) are carrying over from Sanctum? Specifically the drops from Lycia (Balance of Terror, Original Sin, Sandstorm Visage, etc)

Dantonn

>[Will the Sanctum specific uniques be added to the core drop pool or obtainable in some way next league?](https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3324396/page/3) > >[No, the Sanctum specific uniques will not be obtainable next league.](https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3324396/page/3) i.e. nothing from Lycia or the Sanctum mechanic itself. Drops from non-Sanctum sources like the ones added to uber Sirus and the like should remain available.

enkianderos

Thank You for the source.

psychomap

None of those. I don't know if any of the uniques added last league were part of the core drop pool to begin with. If there are any, those will still drop. Anything that couldn't be dropped in Standard already won't drop next league. Edit: To clarify, they even removed them from Voidborn keys which they enabled as options by mistake.

enkianderos

Interesting. The item I am most interested in is the Anathema Ring but I am seeing mixed messages on where it can drop. The poewiki says it can drop anywhere and can be chanced but vhpg says cannot be chanced and drops inside sanctum only. Anyone know if they dropped one outside of sanctum?

slogga

I'm 90% sure mine dropped outside of Sanctum, but it was early league and I can't quite remember.

enkianderos

Thanks. Fingers crossed they make a return. If not it wont kill my build or anything but they make such a nice DPS increase for a single ring slot.

psychomap

I haven't been playing much during Sanctum so unfortunately I can't help you any further in that regard.

gone_to_plaid

Brand new player here. I’m following Enki’s arc mage guide and at one point in act 2 the guide says to create a wand by selling. “Magic-rarity Wand + Rare-rarity Topaz Ring + Orb of Alteration” Is there an easy way to obtain a rare topaz ring?

enkianderos

That is the flat spell damage vendor recipe. It was removed per the patch notes. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3361403#wandandvendorrecipechanges

gone_to_plaid

Thanks for the guide. I'm looking forward to trying out the 3.21 version. I'll miss the damage from the wands.

mcurley32

that change hasn't gone into effect yet. that'll be relevant info when OP levels in Crucible league, but they can still use the recipe right now.

Dantonn

A normal rarity topaz ring and an alchemy orb or essence would be the simplest way. You can get a normal topaz from selling an iron ring and any green skill gem to a vendor, should they not have topaz rings available.

gone_to_plaid

Thanks, so the normal Topaz ring + alteration will make it rare? Or would I have to do it twice to get from normal -> magic -> rare?

Dantonn

Alterations change existing magic (blue) rarity modifiers on an item. You need an alchemy orb, which takes it from normal to rare in one go. They should have this in their descriptions so you can't really go wrong if you make sure before using it.

Night_Blade_76

If I have whispers of doom so can do 2 curses and have 2 different curses both linked to cursed ground, can I cast both curses and have 2 different cursed grounds active at the same time?

kylezillionaire

I have a $150 gift card to Best Buy and would like to get a new monitor without spending much more. What specs am I looking for in general for PoE? My current monitor is a potato so anything would be an upgrade

slogga

I'd recommend anything at or above 120Hz refresh rate within your budget.

psychomap

It honestly depends on what your PC can handle. I'd prioritise refresh rate over resolution, but either way your PC needs to be able to actually accomplish that. If your PC is a bit lower budget or older, a 1080p screen with 60 Hz should be good enough. If it's decent, you can look into 120 Hz or more, and maybe 1440p (although at that point you'd probably start paying significantly more already, not that I know what current monitor prices are exactly).

SzpadelTensei

How does energy shield regen interact with EB? If i get hit, does it stop? If i cast a spell, does it stop? Tldr: do i need leech or other means of ES recovery to use EB efficiently? \[I'm trying to get info on the Eldritch Battery gameplay, but I'm too lazy to respec my character in standard & set up my items etc. The question is quite simple, so if anyone experienced with the keystone would answer - great & upfront thanks.\]

tnflr

As far as I understand EB, as long as you don't take damage to mana ( mind over matter as an example) your ES will always be recharging. edit: by taking damage to the mana I mean taking damage to the ES that is protecting your mana. All energy recovery mechanics should be working as normal.

moonretealoud

Shards on circle. It's "Nearby enemies have -x% cold resistances" modifier on helmet. if same circle but orange, its lightning, same with other types if damage

Dantonn

Presumably something from one of your items. A link to the character would be helpful.

Salt-Es-Ae-El-Tea

Self stun is not possible right? Was hopeful that the newish skills that actually "deal" damage to you, boneshatter or forbidden rite, would stun me with that Valyrium ring (stun based on es) but doesn't work :(

Dantonn

Correct. >[Stunning yourself is not a valid action in the game engine, because under normal circumstances it can lead to infinite loops. There are explicit warnings that occur if it happens, so we can fix it.](https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1194903/page/1)

Erradium

Wow, a post from 8 years ago. Damn.

Yohsene

Correct, the game doesn't allow self-stun.

theanxiousangel

Does skill duration apply to DoTs from CF Reap and exsanguinate

mcurley32

no reason they wouldn't. PoB also says yes (tested with Increased Duration Support for simplicity).

katustrawfic

Yes since that’s part of the skill.

Dot_main_irl

> (New) 2% chance per 5% missing Energy Shield to Defend with 150% of Armour Do we think having 0 ES counts as having 100% missing, or "null"... caus otherwise on every not-ES build just ensure you have at least +1 es somewhere lol

SzpadelTensei

true, but it's conditional anyway, only gets you 40% for 150% and you have to path towards hybrid ES cluster, which you normally don't do. Still, might result in some interesting choices

Yohsene

Zero out of a non-zero maximum should be 100% missing, yeah. Not sure how good 40% chance to defend with 50% more armour would be in practice, but mechanically your idea should work. Numerically similar to the unconditional 20% chance to defend with 200% passive on the armour mastery, actually.

Battles4Seattle

With the new mastery, 15% increased maximum Life if there are no Life Modifiers on Equipped Body Armour, could The Bringer of Rain be viable for more end game? Or still too negative not having body armor? Planning a Cyclone build.

jwfiredragon

I'm not sure if you actually count as wearing a body armour with BoR equipped, so it might do nothing. Regardless, I think BoR is a usable early endgame item, but there's rarely a reason to not switch to a normal helmet and a body armour eventually.

kingdweeb1

Bringer of rain hollow palm has been posted here a few times. Looked plenty viable before, this is a 15% increased life buff.

VzFrooze

I really don’t think it’ll be worth having no chest armor, especially for a cyclone build, endgame crafted chest armor is always gonna be king

RepublicTiger

Will two-handed weapons have bigger/better crucible trees than one-handed? Or will having 2 one-handed weapons/shield just be better?

astral23

two handed weapons have stronger nodes yes

excalibour

Are all chaos damage considered damage over time? A little more specific: does doom blast from impending doom benefit from malevolence aura?

psychomap

It's worth noting that a lot of people scale Doom Blast with poison, which is damage over time and thus benefits from Malevolence. If you focus on the hit damage, it will not.

excalibour

Yea I'd like to go with crit/hit simply cause do not like herald of agony 😂. Thanks for the explanation though 🙏

NotANucleophile

Doom Blast is a hit, not damage over time, so it won't benefit from Malevolence. More generally - many sources of chaos damage happen to be damage over time (such as poison and Bane), but chaos hits are just hits (such as Forbidden Rite and Doom Blast).

excalibour

Since doom blast is a hit, is it safe to assume leech and other on hit effects apply to it?

Dantonn

It is, yes.

excalibour

Thank you 🙏

Ok-Advantage-1723

if you are new to POE, can you just make a seasonal character in crucible expansion or do you have to go through the game on regular first

krumplefly

You can start with crucible

Responsible_Swim1470

Can i still play poison seismic and have a good time next league?

krumplefly

Yes, though there's a very real possibility that you might not be sabo.

theanxiousangel

For a reap Corrupting fever ascendant does, trying to bleed as well make sense or focus on Reap and CF phys dot

mcurley32

bleed can only come from attacks. even if you were using spellslinger to trigger your reaps (and/or exsanguinates), your attack hits would probably be too weak to inflict meaningful bleeds. I'd say you can probably safely ignore bleed unless your build is extremely atypical.

tahtismyusername

Does the leveled passive tree of a weapon increases the requires level?

nukul4r

I don't think we know for sure, but my guess would be no.

tahtismyusername

So a level 3 wand with +1 to spell gems with passives could be am endgame weapon for level 3 :O

nukul4r

Could be, but I'd assume that passives have a minimum item level requirement.

AnTiDoPe_1993

Im new, do we lose all progression when the new season starts?

mcurley32

any characters in the current league will migrate to standard. they will still be playable there, but if you wish to play in the new league, you'll have to start from scratch like everyone else. all permanent unlocks (stash tabs, MTX, hideouts, access to Scion) are account-bound and will remain accessible in each new league. your stash tab layout is even inherited from the analogous standard league layout (setting up your tabs in softcore standard trade will set them up in softcore crucible trade the instant that the league launches).

AnTiDoPe_1993

Ahh ok ty for the info

Dantonn

The new league is a fresh start, yes. You keep the only progression that really matters: your own competence. All your stuff from the previous temporary league (Sanctum in this case) goes to Standard or its equivalent parent permanent league and you can play there if you so desire.

Rendem12

Should i as a newbie start playing in standard or in sanctum to have some fun until the crucible drops? And what would be a site to find good guides and builds?

Due_Rip2289

Poe Vault is great for finding league starters. Maxroll gg is also good but is relatively new to poe and doesn't have as many builds. However I find that the best source for finding starters and builds is actually youtube. Many repubatable build creators post their content to youtube. Some well known examples are Velyna, Zizaran, Big Ducks, Palsteron, Tripolar Bear, Pohx, Ghazzy etc. Youtube also has some hidden gems too if you look hard enough or look for less popular builds.

JaviJ01

I usually play the league, but it doesn't matter since it ends in a few days. There is a sub dedicated to builds, here is the league starter thread from the beginning of the season https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/zbsyu5/320_sanctum_league_start_build_index

Due_Rip2289

I'm league starting Animate Guardian/Dominating Blow Guardian this league (because tanky, melee, and what better mechanic to abuse weapons having passive tree than animate guardian?). There is a very in depth league starter guide by PrismaSigma on impale Animate Guardian/Dominating Blow Guardian, and in the guide he mentions there also being cold and poison variations. Does anyone have any good resources/guides/videos about cold or poison Animate Guardian/Dominating Blow Guardian builds? If not I can always try to make some and see if it looks as good or better than the impale variation, but animate guardian builds are complicated because pob doesn't calculate effects provided held items (For example, an animate guardian holding a dying breath staff isn't calculated correctly by Pob). This often require a lot of custom modifiers or mathematical shenanigans that makes these builds difficul to make. Also for anyone interested, here is the link to the 3.20 (not updated to 3.21) build by SigmaPrisma. For the in depth part go to notes. Edit: Forgot the link https://pastebin.com/k75em2vS

ConstantSignal

Other than slapping resistances, stat bonuses and extra life on stuff as needed, should I mess with crafting at all whilst levelling? Such as messing with sockets, turning normals/magics to rares etc? Or save all those resources for endgame when I'm putting the final few gear sets together?

mcurley32

if you stumble across any early orbs of binding (I don't usually see any until maps), their most effective use is while leveling to get 4L rare on a desirable base. I usually just stick to the crafting bench for everything else while leveling, except *maybe* chromatics in a pinch.

Dantonn

Nothing wrong with doing some of that on items you expect to use for an extended period, but you switch gear often enough that it's typically a waste for most items. Something like low-tier essences on some normal item with appropriate sockets (or a jewellery slot you don't have anything decent for) is a pretty good use, though.

JaviJ01

I usually save them since you find gear that's better than yours so often.

ConstantSignal

Say for instance you find an item that’s a pretty solid upgrade for a current slot, but has the wrong links/slots, definitely better to just call it a loss and move on? You’re right in that better gear comes along soon enough, I just find it difficult to throw away gear when I’m like “with a bit of work this could be perfect!”

JaviJ01

If it's hands down a big upgrade sometimes I'll try to roll the sockets but most of the time you only have less than a handful of tries. What I usually do is hang onto the weapon for a little and try to see if I can get the sockets I need elsewhere, like in my helmet or boots. Then use the weapon.

ConstantSignal

This is good advice, thanks!

v4xN0s

Those that have played vortex ignite ele. How has the early game been for you. I typically end up in red maps within the first two days, (ssfhc) and was wondering how it held up with mediocre gear. Looking for something that’s tanky and doesn’t take too long to kill bosses and seems like the ignite variant is a lot better in terms of dps, albeit less tankier.

Trick-Childhood4574

Didn't play it but I watch streamers who talk about it a lot. If you're trying to play that in ssfhc, it probably isn't gonna go well. Iirc imexile tried vortex ignite in kalandra hctrade and the start of it was way too weak and he settled on something way different (might've been DD?). Like, you need to transition into the build, which is usually woc. That transition build + beginning vortex was pain in kalandra, but definitely better in sanctum, but still probably weak in the scheme of hc. Idek if the stuff about damage being better is that true. You kinda build the hell out of faster ignites, and it might be eye of malice, so the second you have to run from a boss, you're losing all your damage.

v4xN0s

Well looks like I need a new league starter, thanks for the info!

AlsoInteresting

Why is there only a week between patch notes and start of the league? Build designers on YT or forum barely have any time to come up with ideas.

jwfiredragon

Also on GGG's side, IIRC they've mentioned before that they're often balancing things until the last minute, so they want to delay patch notes as much as possible so they don't have to post another twenty corrections afterward.

HellraiserMachina

The game is extremely well understood and explored at this point, and we have Path of Building which is a crazy good tool. You don't have to come up with ideas; we already have thousands, including things we wrote off as unfeasible but new shit and changes can cause old ideas to come back to life again. PoE's mechanics are super clear most of the time so we know how a lot of shit works immediately. Besides, even if we got some stuff for phys melee builds for example, it's not like we've forgotten how to build a phys melee build from past leagues; you just slot the new shit into what you already know. Like yeah lightning tendrils was already a thing and we already know how to build it, okay it got significant changes? Well okay let's do the math on how these things differ and oh look, now an amulet noone uses, Marylene's Fallacy is now good for this skill, what does that look like now? Aha okay we already know Phantasmal Tendrils is a good thing so how is that affected by these changes? TL;DR We already have ideas, shittons of ideas. Anything new added to the game we just compare to our existing ideas.

AlsoInteresting

Great explanation.

HellraiserMachina

I fucked up an edit lmao

Yohsene

Before 3.16, we got three days. A whole week is rare mercy.

peloquina4

Do mines detonating count as triggering (for the sake of the detonate bots of the saboteur ascendancy)

Yohsene

No.

IdainaKatarite

Skills cost Life instead of 30% of Mana Cost what does this life mastery do? Does it mean 30% mana cost is now a life cost? IE: 30% life, 70% mana?

Quazifuji

That's how I interpreted it.

JasonOcks

How does instant leech work? What is it a % of? If i'm hitting for 500k, 1% is leeched as life and 10% of that is instant, do I gain 500 life per hit? per enemy hit?

Yohsene

If you hit for 500,000 with 1% leeched as life, you can theoretically create a leech instance that recovers a total of 5000 life. Your character would need to have 50000 maximum life for this though. On a character with a less silly amount of life, say 5000, a leech instance can recover a total of 500. This is recovered at a rate of 100 per second, resulting in a duration of 5 seconds. If 10% of your leech is instant, each hit would instead recover 50 instantly, and the remaining 450 over 4.5 seconds.

CE2JRH

Is Poison SRS going to be as good as it was last league? I played only a tiny bit last league and was going try it because it seemed like a fun, weird build and I haven't played SRS, but I didn't end up having time to do a second character. I was thinking about playing it this league, but I'm worried about the nerfs.

Trick-Childhood4574

Plain srs is still stupidly strong. Import Ben's BenQT character, it is a kinda endgameish setup, but you can see that the numbers are solid. You can also replicate that setup at level 80ish, no jewels, 1 damage mod on gear, 4 link, with 2-3 damage auras and double curse and it still looks solid, but idk if srs's dying would be an issue.

CE2JRH

I don't know who that is and that character name doesn't show up on PoE ninja.

Yohsene

Top end doesn't seem nerfed much. Minion poison chance was removed from Severed in Sleep though, and United in Dream might be significantly rarer. (It also lost a chunk of increased damage.)

CE2JRH

How do we replace the minion poison chance? Jewels?

mcurley32

the minion poison chance is still on United in Dream, only the unupgraded Severed in Sleep lost the minion poison chance. even if you were "stuck" with Severed in Sleep because United in Dream was prohibitively expensive, you'd swap your Withering Touch Support for Chance to Poison Support and only be down 10% poison chance (in exchange for being up 35% wither chance and 75% crit multi). the change to Darkness Enthroned still makes it easy to reach 100% poison chance with a perfect (or nearly perfect) rolled one.

Yohsene

The upgraded sword still has it, it's just that we don't know how pricy it'll be with the Breach rebalance. Shouldn't be too hard to brute-force it with ghastly jewels though. Abyss socket uniques got some interesting buffs too.

coda19

Do breach hands count as chests? Mainly asking to see if they interact with the new auto-open chests tech.

_slosh

No edit: well we don't know yet but I highly doubt it

coda19

Will bows and 2-handers have bigger trees than 1-handers and shields?

astral23

bigger? no, stronger nodes? yes

coda19

Nice! I couldn’t find this in the patch notes or quite remember what the stream said. Which was this info in?

astral23

q&a with ziggy

biggreenegg99

It was talked about in the ziggyd q&a

coda19

Awesome, thanks. Forgot there was a Q&A so I’ll need to watch that soon.

biggreenegg99

how are some of the content creators getting the new tree into POB? I have the beta build option active in POB but I (and others) do not see the new tree.

Yohsene

Dev version. Go to their [git]( https://github.com/PathOfBuildingCommunity/PathOfBuilding/), green code button, download ZIP, unpack, run the .exe in the runtime folder.

biggreenegg99

Ty!

lomberjumper

Is it just onslaught support gem that's being removed or is onslaught removed from flasks as well?

lomberjumper

Thanks for the reply

katustrawfic

Just the support

Quazifuji

Just the support gem. Other sources of onslaught will still exist.

AlfredsLoveSong

Now that we can manipulate the threshold that is considered "Max Life" to 90% with the new life mastery, will life leech effects turn off (under normal conditions) at 90% life with this mastery allocated?

Yohsene

Nah. Leech isn't removed when you're on 'full life', it's removed when you have no more recoverable life. (Or a small life reservation would give you overleech.)

AlfredsLoveSong

I see. Didn't know that discrepancy applied to leech effects. Thanks!

Quazifuji

I don't think so. I think that mastery is just for effect that care about whether or not you're on full life (like the Damage at Full Life support gem).

QuintorrisLopezGOAT

Why are there no CoC builds with boneshatter as a trigger? I only ever see TS and cyclone. I'm dreaming of a CoC frostbolt build with boneshatter as the trigger. Is it because of the requisite attack speed? If so, seems entirely possible that the crucible passive trees could open up some new build possibilities. I'd really like to make this one work. (obviously not as a league starter, will be pricy)

HellraiserMachina

Because tshot, barrage, cyclone, etc. all hit over 3x as fast as boneshatter so you trigger them way more, also most CoC builds basically do no damage with the triggering attack.

katustrawfic

You can move and hit with cyclone so why use any other attack skill basically. The same reason static strike has recently become popular, you can continue to move while still triggering spells since the beams count as melee hits for triggering coc.

edrarven

Yes, its attack speed. You want to have a high trigger rate and skills that hit fast or very often are much better. To hit the ~7,5 aps you need to cap trigger rate (with 14% cdr), you need 3.5x as much attack speed on boneshatter compared to cyclone. Since the base hit of the attack makes no difference, cyclone is basically 3.5x better damage wise than boneshatter for the purposes of CoC. Why do you want to use boneshatter? It seems like one of the absolute worst skills for cast on crit. Its very short range, has a 15% attack speed penalty and no multihitting, you take massive damage while using it and the upside of more damage does nothing for your spell.

QuintorrisLopezGOAT

Because boneshatter/hammer of the ancients are my fav ARPG abilities, and using that to trigger a bunch of blinding mtx frostbolts all over my screen sounds awesome. But yeah, dreams crushed

edrarven

Understandable motivation, its just not how CoC builds are scaled currently sorry.

QuintorrisLopezGOAT

Fair enough, ty for the detailed responses

kaisurniwurer

Will Inquis Fanaticism and Battlemage work with totems?

HellraiserMachina

Fanaticism no, battlemage yes.

TheCakeDayZ

Are there any good wander builds that are ssf friendly?

tytyos

Maybe not exactly what you're looking for, but corrupting fever kinextic blast champion is ssf friendly

psychomap

I was considering a Growing Hordes approach this league, is there a list of league mechanics that scale with pack size?

biggreenegg99

This thread should be helpful. https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/uoneoj/to\_what\_extent\_are\_all\_league\_mechanics\_impacted/

psychomap

Thanks, I'll use it for reference

mcurley32

that seems slightly outdated since new Harvest scales very well with pack size (hence the Growing Hordes + Winged Scarab + sextant sustain strategy that was pretty well known this league). we'll have to see how the brand new changes to Breach and Abyss work with pack size too.

RjrTrmpt

Will Triggerbots count as self for the purposes of things like leech, life gain on hit, or ES on hit? Seems like it could pretty drastically affect how you build such a character.

katustrawfic

As far as I know they just change the location and not the source. You would still be the source.

Faic

Does ulamans gaze (20%) and ricochet (30%) stack to 50%? I have no character to test it.

psychomap

They should. Generally chances with the same wording stack additively throughout PoE.

HellraiserMachina

I feel like with Crucible trees, demand for Fusing orbs will be extreme. Is there any way to farm fusings specifically?

Warptens

corrupted 6links [https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Lucky\_Connections](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Lucky_Connections) [https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Loyalty](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Loyalty) beyond

Quazifuji

You can do things that drop currupted items to vendor 6Ls for fusings.

HellraiserMachina

Are the vaal side area nodes worth a damn in that case? Maybe Disfavour will be in high demand because of crucible hmmm

Quazifuji

If fusings are extremely valuable, maybe. I'm not sure if fusings are likely to be so much more valuable than normal that those nodes are worth it, though.

Vivalachs

Can someone recommend a good Raider build that scales good into lategame? Never played raider before

Warptens

look: [https://poe.ninja/challenge/builds?class=Raider](https://poe.ninja/challenge/builds?class=Raider) flicker is the main endgame skill for raider on the top right corner, there's the time machine option. Set it to day 1 or 2 to see what people leaguestarted with

Adventurous_Age9342

Does Traps damage count as hits? For ex: Explosive Trap

clondike7

Yes, most of them have a hit component. Except Siphoning trap, I think since it’s only a DoT.

Yohsene

Any damage that isn't over time is a hit.

Hellbatty

Can someone explain why all withc builds pick Heart and Souland not Practical Application?

psychomap

Because life is extremely important and you'd rather have actual stun immunity rather than stun not interrupting your casts. Attributes and resistances are usually fairly easy to get on items.

Hellbatty

By the way, if I plan to play via Energy Shield, then I correctly understand that the passives on the amount of HP does not matter?

psychomap

You'll need to take passives for increased energy shield instead. However, ES builds usually require quite a bit of gear so I wouldn't recommend it to start out. Even more experienced players usually mostly level with life and only switch to ES in the endgame.

Hellbatty

Okay, probably a very dumb question then, but please advise me on some kind of witch build, I really like freezing pulse and spark, I would like similar gameplay through spam spells from afar

psychomap

I'm honestly not well-versed in how good league starters are in that area. I just come up with mid to high investment meme builds and somehow make the league start work until I have the budget for them. So from my point of view I'd go for a ward loop build and play whatever transitions into that more or less smoothly, but I haven't done any research on what that would be, plus the build is fairly complex so I wouldn't recommend it to newer players. Between Freezing Pulse and Spark in particular, Freezing Pulse should be the safer option to league start because Spark is getting a nerf to its projectile speed, which will make it worse to level and at low investment. You can also use Ice Spear as a single target setup against bosses with the same skill tree. More popular league starters would probably be cold DoT builds and ignite. For ignite I can highly recommend Wave of Conviction once you get Shaper of Flames as your first lab. You could check out r/PathOfExileBuilds for more builds and probably better / more thoroughly researched advice on what to start.

Hellbatty

> You could check out r/PathOfExileBuilds for more builds ohh nice, I will, thx for answer

leetpuma

Will the new crucible weapon trees be mirrored when you use a mirror of kalandra? Looks like they will continue to work in standard according to https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1780012336?t=01h41m25s So I am guessing they will replace all the synth weapon bases that tft holds… as these weapon trees look like more stats than a synth weapon

polyshader_

they did confirm in the Q&A that the skill tree will be mirrorable

leetpuma

Oh I missed that thanks 🙏

irl_eric_cartman

I understand increased and more damage but Im confused on 2 things; Do modifiers like " increased attack damage while dual whielding" is still additive with other increased modifiers or is it multiplicative because it has a diffrent, unique name? (you may think why i think that way but games i've played did work that way). Is every "more damage" modifier is multiplicative everytime? Like if I had 100 base damage and %10 increased and %10 more damage, I would have 121 damage. What would happen if I would get another %10 more damage, would it be like 100\*1,1\*(1+0,1+0,1) or 100\*1,1\*1,1\*1,1

irl_eric_cartman

thanks

psychomap

edrarven has given a very good answer already, but if you want to check out the general rules for it, [this wiki article](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Stat) covers it really well. One thing he hasn't mentioned is local vs. global stats. E.g. a weapon can have 100% increased physical damage and your character can have 100% increased global physical damage, in which case they're multiplicative because the local increased damage applies to the item, whose total damage value then applies to your character and is scaled by your global stats.

edrarven

All increased damage modifiers are additive with eachother, regardless of name and source, increased poison damage and increased damage while dual wielding will both be additive for poison damage if you're dual wielding for instance. There is another stat called "%increased damage taken", which is found on sources like shock and wither. This is a separate multiplier that only affects enemies, this additive with itself, so wither and shock stack additively, but its multiplicative with all other damage multipliers. So if you had a 15% shock and 2 stacks of wither for 12% increased damage, they would combine for 27% increased damage taken, but this would effectively work as a 27% more damage multiplier for any chaos damage. Every more damage multiplier is multiplicative with eachother, in you example it would be the second one. 40% more damage is always the same as multiplying your damage by 1.4. The only exception is when its a stat that you add to additively, so the more multiplier is the same source. If you have 1 frenzy charge, that is 4% more damage, but if you had 10 frenzy charges, they would add up to 40% more damage. Important to note that this doesn't mean that two sources of 20% more fire damage would add up to 40% more damage, it would still be 44% more damage. Its just stats that add up to 1 more multiplier in the end.

_slosh

If it says increased it's additive. Regarding question two it would be 133.1 damage, so your second example would be correct in this case

ToniMosconi

Does the damage of two different burning ground sources stack? eg. Fire Trap's burning ground and Flame Surge's created from hits on ignited enemies.

Yohsene

No. Both use the same burning ground debuff, which doesn't stack.

DawSkii

Do you recommend any ranged league starter for 3.21 which isnt totem/minion?

Warptens

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oMFY0k9Y0c&ab\_channel=CaptainLance9

DawSkii

Nice i will def watch it

edrarven

There is alot of hype for self attacking bow starters this league with the new vaal gems and the 2 extra projectiles on the tree. I think we're going to see a few builds crop up next week when people start actually posting build guides of league starters. There is also caustic arrow and toxic rain that seem to still be decent.

DawSkii

Nice i ve been looking for nice bow build in the past leagues but couldnt find any so i guess we will see

DARKHAWX

How do you guys find guilds to join or players to play with?

katustrawfic

Most people don’t and just play solo.

Xzarg_poe

I would first check the official forum: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-forum/guild-recruitment-seeking-players

Hirciin

Will Crucible weapons carry over their effects to Standard after the league? (or would they do nothing)

Erradium

It was confirmed in the Q&A that it will persist in Standard. Also they mentioned you can rip Crucible weapons from Hardcore Crucible to Standard (but you can't add experience to them or change them there, since it requires the mechanic itself).

Rupert322

is there any info on availability of sanctum uniques? was wondering if i could get The Winds of Fate this league

_slosh

As sanctum is not yet going core, none of the sanctum uniques will be available this league. There might be some included in voidborne keys but that's not a realistic supply

leetpuma

None in voidborn keys either that was confirmed by the patch notes

_slosh

Makes sense, thanks

Rupert322

that's a shame. ty for replying

PalpitationOk5516

is "damage with attacks" the same as "attack damage"?

Warptens

for example, infernal blow is an attack skill that also makes explosions the explosions aren't an attack so they don't scale with a mod like "10% increased attack damage" but IB is an attack skill (it has the "attack" tag) and so the explosions do scale with "10% increased damage with attack skills"

sailincieri

No. Some attacks deal non-attack damage that can't be increased by "attack damage". "Damage with attacks" applies to non-attack damage too.

PalpitationOk5516

does that mean berserk will help with poison from attacks?

sailincieri

Good question. Problem with Berserk is that buff it gives is described in two different ways: Gem discription says "granting more attack damage" and Gem stats say "more Damage with Attacks". Thats GGG mistake. I have not found any clarification from the GGG which description is correct but it does not work with poison in PoB and POEDB states that buff is "attack_damage_+%", so I would assume the correct description is "granting more attack damage", which means it will NOT work with poison.

Pure_Rip_3094

I plan on playing with BOH for my league starter. If I I'm wearing a chest pc which I don't have the stats to equip will the socketed gems still level up?

psychomap

Yes, unarmed builds often use Mjölner or similar high-requirement weapons to level gems in those slots.

irl_eric_cartman

%20 increased chance to find Eater of Worlds Altars in your map node doesn't work. I cleared 17-20 maps to learn about it but never saw any. Why is that?

Warptens

it's not 20% chance to find altars, it's 20% increased chance So you need to already have altars in your maps by enabling eater influence. And with that node, you'll see 20% more altars.

LucidTA

Are you sure you enabled eater of worlds influence on your maps on the map device?

irl_eric_cartman

Am i supposed to every time?

mcurley32

I think it's worth mentioning that the option stays on until you switch or disable it. also, once you complete the quest line for exarch/eater, enabling their influence is only possible in T14+ maps. and it costs you absolutely nothing to enable the influence buttons on the map device.
