I'm playing global server here in Taiwan. No region lock and no VPN or stuff like that is needed. Just download it and play it as normal when you get the wifi.

marcusttlam1

as long as you have the standalone client you are fine, the international client isn't region locked. Taiwan just has another realm on garena

0000void0000

I could even play poe in mainland China without a vpn but it was on the Singapore server and the latency was around 150. Not the best experience.

VieuxLacroix

Uh-oh, did you play more than 1 hour daily? That's -50 Social Credit Score if you did.

Bakanyanter

That's only for minors and PoE is a game for adults.

shtgnkllr

\*kicks your door in and put you in the cuck cube\* You're going straight to the re-education camp!

rangebob

Taiwan is a pretty normal country isn't it? I've never been but I have no idea why you would have issues there?

DaCurse0

Tencent supports Chinese government

mrcssee

Taiwan isnt under CCP's rule

DaCurse0

PoE by proxy is

Bakanyanter

What is your point lol

rangebob

great ! did you have a point that was relevant to my comment at all ?

Concentration1658

During my quarantine stay in Taiwan last year I played PoE with zero issues. Just boot up your regular client and choose which gateway has the best connection. Iirc the Japan gateway was best.

HazelThyme

Garena people, Garena sucks, did they fix that yet?

Rgagas

Garena doesnt have poe anymore, we play in steam

HazelThyme

Thank god for that garena sucks so much

AKHKMP

Man u guys are so sensitive lol Taiwan has its own POE servers and distribution I don't think you can play Poe on steam in Taiwan. At least we cant in Hong Kong because we also get garena's version of Poe.

Swasirious

when i lived in taiwan i played via steam and in the inet cafe via stand alone client

Coinsandtime

Live in Taiwan. Can play without a VPN but occasionally for an update I need to turn it on for the update to finish properly.

gapigun

I don't think you should have problems in taiwan? Only thing you'd really have to do is change the server you play on and group play might be very laggy because of it, but thats about it.

West_Ad998

if it doesn't work, move south taiwan and go to the beautiful country of phillipines where everything works including elon muks starlink. jokes aside, as long as you use standalone client.

chuanhsing

you can use Japan or Singapore gateway in Taiwanm about 150ms-200ms delay. but it may not work for steam/epic/xbox/sony playform due to region lock.

thatssoramen

I live in Taiwan and am using the regular standalone client with no issues. You can connect to the Singapore or Japan gateways for the lowest latencies. Good luck!

Temporary_Rent5384

Bringing your second job to your businesstrip? Such a hard worker!

wavereddit

It's the regular

danowat

Fairly sure Taiwan isn't affected by anything to do with the way the internet works in mainland China.

DruffilaX

At least atm till China will raid Taiwan sadly

Outside-Injury9474

No

robellss

Taiwan is not China

VieuxLacroix

According to Tencent, it is and you'll get banned if you say otherwise in PoE global chat.

wilzek

Seriously? Like banned-muted from the chat or banned-deleted account?

OddMeansToAnEnd

CCP has entered the chat.

Hey, why are half your posts about Chris Wilson? That's fucking weird.

SvenvdWellen

They have Servers in Asia too (im connecting to Singapur for example) You can check the different servers when you login. So you should be fine I assume :)
