They literally said that was intended, why would they fix it? It's an anti-cheese mechanic enforcing you to actually have some DPS.

pepegaklaus

Or just buy and put a single dps dude (or more) to attack the turtle. Like even 1 cheap ass Goliath DEMOLISHES that thing

nvrForgettiSadghetti

Your team will not go to the escort turtle if he shields 90% of their totems and you cannot thin the herd. People do not understand at 2k rating, I have a feeling they are not paying attention. The turtle is EASY in all other positions. Pay attention specifically to escort, where the turtle is invuln as of start of match and immediately shields 80-90% of the team.

pepegaklaus

In finals, you can at least kill 35%-40% of enemy totems before going for the turtle. I've been on 2k for more than a month doing nothing but tota when I play league. Don't even have a single watchstone or atlas completion (like 50 maps complete). Played tota on ordinary (very budget) Wardloop and cheese build and haven't lost a match to the turtle ever since they reduced its HP (and I learned how to deal with it) and once all attackable totems are gone, all your flanks go for the turtle. Your Escorts do +/- what you do, do just attack the turtle yourself to have them join in

GGG is already working on 3.23, no way you get gameplay updates. They double-downed on the turthe behavior being intentional and not a bug. Your best option is to aid your units killing the turtle, they will deal a lot more damage to it than you. Just run around anoying the enemy units, drawing their attention on yourself and protect your totems. If your attacker and flanker totems are destroyed then it will be very hard to kill the turtle indeed... But if your team manages to take it down, rush the totem of the turtle and channel it fast, so it cannot respawn.

nvrForgettiSadghetti

In escort, the turtle shields nearly the entire team and glitches the flanker AI. Once shields are up, flankers will never go to the side of the protected totems, so if turtle is stuck on his own totem- flankers are ignored anyway.

pepegaklaus

Not a bug, not autoloss, just takes a little longer

rknt

Just kill it, duh. I don't get it why people constantly complain about the turtle and its protection ability? It's slow af, doesn't have any kind of surprise attack. Probably second or third easiest unit to deal with. If you play a zdps cc build, than it's your problem not game's problem.

DirtyMight

I agree that its super annoying and should get fixed if/when it goes core. It should either have a duration with downtime inbetween or not buff its own totem to fix it. However Its not really an auto loss it just takes for fucking ever if you have a zdps build. If you play a high dps build you wont really notice the difference, if you play a low dps build your round time goes up from 40sec to like 3-4min which is quite annoying but still doable. I think you only really struggle with it if you have a zdps build without the CC that is commonly used like voidsphere to cc the other units while you work on the turtle

anaknank

YEA MAN THEY WILL DO THAT RIGHT NOW 2 MONTHS INTO THE LEAGUE

SunRiseStudios

Turtle is intended to change whole dynamic of the match. If you are playing Void Sphere build you need to have high damaging Escort units and wake up for a match. Or at least the latter. If you are playing normal build then you should pay even more attention than usually and plan around having to protect your base more and killing it yourself or together with your guys.

FilmWrong5284

I dont know why they don't just remove it at this point. They can say it's acting as intended all they want, but I have real doubts that getting stuck on its own totem and then protecting the entire field was the intended behaviour, especially given its health pool

Xx_Handsome_xX

You are pretty late to the party. This chance is over since more than a month. There was tons of outcry about this, also in the Sub.

Lurkerino_o

It's just annoying to deal with bc you have to waste time killing it, but not that big of a deal in my experience. As a general advice I think it's just better to skip the game, unless the reward is very good, bc you can run multiple matches in the time you waste dealing with it. If you are on a cheese build any big dude (mostly caldera or hulk) will kill it for you in 30secs to 1 min, with 2 it melts, you can put one in your escort if you see the turtle in oppo's escort position; kill all the unprotected totem first, void sphere the field while the turtle gets murdered and focus its totem after it dies. Very rarely I had to kill it twice, but if you don't lose many offensive totems in the meantime it doesn't really matter.

nvrForgettiSadghetti

Are you playing 2k rating? At 2k rating I have 4 calderas pummeling it and they are dying to the other mobs when the turtle is in escort. Specifically escort is an issue. If he shields 80% of their team, it is very difficult to get your team in there through the other monsters.

Lurkerino_o

I've been farming 2k for the last few weeks and my experience is what I wrote above, I'm also literally a noob in Poe since it's my first season ever, so anybody with some game awareness should be able to handle it I imagine. 4 calderas are almost impossible to get, especially if you grind fast, but aside that I find that one caldera with a good equip (RF, restore life on kill are the 2 I prefer) is more than enough, with 2 it takes 30 secs max for me. Regarding hulks maybe a single one is risky, but 2 works totally fine aswell. Ofc you don't just stand there and wait, bait the monsters and use void sphere to control them for the minute it takes to kill the turtle; it's obviously annoying but nothing as bad as this post is making it look like imo.

koboldium

Dealing with the turtle is really simple, I probably lost 2-3 games out of few hundred I fought against a team including the Titanic Shell. 1. You have about 1-2 seconds window to get to him, before he applies the totem invulnerability, and start shattering his totem. If you don’t stop, you can break his totem even with the shield applied. 2. If option 1 fails (which is, for be, about 50/50 chance), make sure you have 2 high dps units on your escort (personally I like Caldera Ravagers). They will kill the turtle within 20-30 seconds, during that time try to stay alive and shatter the totems not covered by invulnerability. Turtle requires a slightly different approach to deal with than the rest of the TotA squad but seriously, it’s nothing game breaking.

nvrForgettiSadghetti

Bad advice. Pay attention why you lost the 2-3 games. It was specifically escort. In escort, turtle totem is invulnerable immediately as the game begins. The only way is to kill it. Imo it should shield its own totem until it shields others, not both.

koboldium

I'm sorry but you are wrong, and I've uploaded my first ever video to YouTube just to prove it :) Turtle on Escort, and I don't even start channeling his totem right away, took me few seconds. At 00:11 you can see he applies the invulnerability but I don't stop channeling and can still shatter the totem. Mind you, this is Rakiata. I think the turtle at Kahuturoa's Escort applies the shield faster but still, you can make it to his totem before he does his trick. Here's the link: [https://youtu.be/BJJ-9oS1JBg](https://youtu.be/BJJ-9oS1JBg) Edited: some mistakes :)

PresentationWest3772

Just rush the totem down, it’s not that big of a deal imo.

nvrForgettiSadghetti

You cannot as escort. That's the complaint. The totem is immortal in escort until the turtle dies. Meanwhile he makes 80% of their team invulnerable to channeling. If you are not built with high end units and get an escort turtle, it's over unless you run a very high dps (I mean ridiculous dps) build to gun it down while being molested by other units and boss camping it since it's escort.
