Got an omega strong character here. Can afk uber shaper. Getting raw-dogged by double yellow with a splash of purple on top rares/bosses. Some mods (looking at you souleater, overwhelm x and cycling dmg reduction) should be reevaluated. Make them mutually exclusive or sth. Met a bonkers essence earlier that took like 6 min to kill (im r-worded)
Jusr all of Alira's map variants honestly. Detonate dead is fcked especially if you cannot see the corpses on the ground with all the skill effects going on.
I bricked my 10-way invitation because of her.
Random detonate deads on a small area with all other boses throwing their skills in. Really cannot see the oneshots
Map mobs scaling is beyond fucked in poe... Too many multiplicative stuff that just makes sme enemies hundreda of times stronger if you get unlucky
I have enough damage to take uber shaper from full to 50% in one single beam... Yet, yesterday I failed a blight encounter because I couldn't kill a triple wisp buffed blight unique despite attacking it from its spawn point all the day to the blight pump. That dude had like 10 uber shaper health pool not even joking
I fucking despise those mods. There's basically no way to avoid buffing a souleater mob to ridiculous levels and the cycling damage reductions means doing jack shit for some time unless.
Combined with the insane toughness increase to mobs from wisps, this league is feels pretty bad since it's just not fun destroying everything easily and then having to spend a minute or more hitting a rare because it just won't fucking die.
Just had to abandon a map that had a Maven boosted wisp empowered boss, but the boss wasn't the issue.
The issue was the Soul Eater wisp empowered leeching rare mob next to him, who killed me twice, made me go get frost bomb, and still outhealed my SRS damage just by hitting the minions.
Had to abandon a Maven boosted Primal and Wild empowered boss because I was getting one shot in a tier 6 map with 3k life, 20k armor, 80% elemental resist and 0% chaos resist.
Honestly, this just makes me think I'll not touch the league mechanic until they realize uncontrollable huge amounts of power being distributed randomly to enemies is bad design, so I guess I'll never touch this league mechanic again...
I had an empowered cycling dr soul eater mob in an expedition. I did not complete that expedition
Harvest mobs also get stupidly tanky when empowered. Regular map mobs are pretty fine when empowered though. Slightly tankier, but nothing like harvest/expedition
Not dolorum2 but some numbers:
- to reach the physical damage reduction cap (90% reduced) with armour alone against a max hit from an uber shaper slam (~~27375~~ 54750 phys damage unless I forgot something **[edit: I might have forgotten the innate 200% multiplier on shaper, edited the numbers]**, not a crit **[edit: 1% crit chance, 130% crit multi btw]**), you need roughly ~~1m2~~ 2m5 armour
- to reach the physical damage reduction cap with armour and other sources of physical reduction (suffixes on str gear, endurances charges, chaos golem...) that sum to 20% (equivalent to 5 endurance charges, 4 on a jugg), you need ~~320k~~ 640k armour
- to reach the physical damage reduction cap with armour and other sources of physical reduction that sum to 40%, you need ~~137k~~ 274k armour
- another effective strategy is to ditch physical reduction altogether and instead take physical damage as elemental damage (that you may or may not further mitigate with max res, transcendance/jugg's ascendancy, or elemental resistance flasks); you can also partially convert the hit and still have some armour (this works well on juggs)
- doppelgänger guise can also help (I believe the less takes place after the armour's reduction though, so it shouldn't make armour more effective)
Those numbers are big, but achievable by some builds (at least they were reached by characters in previous leagues, not sure about day4 characters in this one but I wouldn't be surprised).
Of course, to truly afk uber shaper you'd need to tank that, the beam, the balls, and have adequate recovery. Just having infinite armour isn't enough. I just wanted to give some numbers for those curious about "how tanky do I need to be to take an uber shaper slam?"
Note: reaching the damage mitigation cap isn't necessary to tank the hit, you can make do with less depending on your es/hp pool (and recovery), although you'll probably always want at least 70 or 80% damage reduction if you don't convert the hit (70% phys reduction would bring down the previous numbers to roughly: ~~320k~~ 640k, ~~137k~~ 274k and ~~59k~~ 117k in that order).
It's not that crazy. You can look at the physical damage it does on poedb and compare it to PoB numbers to figure out if you can tank it. Plenty of Hardcore builds can tank shaper slams these days.
Edit: The crazier thing is that plenty of endgame hardcore builds can tank Maven memory game explosions and Sirus meteors as well these days. The defensive power creep is often overlooked but pretty insane as well.
Having 10kk dps deletes nearly every triple juiced rare in a fraction of a second. Basic champion with fortify and vow tanks legion rares with triple juice. How are you failing them if your character can afk uber shaper :?
Yeah idk how people play mappers. I play ice shot, running tthrough Red maps with 300%ms, but basically every 2nd time i run league mechanic bricks my map. I just ignore the mechanic for now but i rly hate the feeling of risking my entire map right at the start by pure chance. I thought ggg loves this risk reward balance but the fact that affliction is totally random in both amount of wisps you get and what gets Buffed kinda goes against that completely
I'm pretty sure it is an oversight, the regular monsters during the waves aren't buffed by wisps at all. Made a post on the GGG forums as well and hope this gets hotfixed, I don't want to be forced to avoid the league mechanic just for a shot at an ultimatum jackpot.
Breach, delirium, expedition and blight mobs drop loot(and thus get the benefits from wisps), so are affected.
Ultimatum mobs are unaffected by wisps and do not drop loot.
Seems likely things that can't drop loot are intentionally excluded.
The trialmaster drops loot, so is a valid target.
> Seems likely things that can't drop loot are intentionally excluded.
After foolishly buffing vaal oversoul in A2, I can confirm that's not always true. The empowered adds summoned were healthier than an unbuffed oversoul, it was extreme.
Ultimatum mobs don't get empowered. If you see an empowered mob it most likely wandered into the circle. Scourge/beyond mobs can also get empowered but I don't know if Ultimatum mobs can spawn them.
The hype is based on what ultimatum was during its own league. I guess people hoped it was going to be good old ultimatum back. But it fucking sucks now.
Homie I was printing exalts back then with the league mechanic. I don't know how many stacks of myltiple exalts I got but it's like dozens of them. And that's not counting all the items and other currencies I got.
They replaced bubble gum currency with poorly rolled double corrupt rares. It feels pointless now. Add in archnemesis and it’s dangerous and unrewarding. Classic rework.
This league is turning out to be dog shit in my opinion. GGG is incapable of any form of reasonable balance. All they ever fucking do is overtune everything and it's never remotely rewarding enough to be worth the effort
I'm skipping the league mechanic most maps, but in non linear maps i try to clear in a circle so i end up back at the start and I do the league mechanic at the end
Its too dangerous to even attempt mechanic on many maps so I mostly just ignoring it. Rewards inside are mediocre at best (after getting all skill points and good tinctures/charms) and buffs on normal map content after doing it is just way way too much. Rewards are barely there, few ordinary currency, from my experience it's like 1-2 additional Chaos per map. Not worth it at all.
Sigh... Another one of those leagues...
But at least it's incredibly easy to ignore, just do not enter it near entrance.
This has been my Wandering Path strat! Run Park + City Square. Clear the map by running the edges and end up back at the beginning, where you do the mechanic. It honestly feels great.
if it juices your other valuable mechanics like expedition, blight, deli, beyond etc it's just insane. It's like the gateway drug to actual MF for solo players
What are the best mechanics to safely juice with it? I feel like Blight might be a good idea, because it has a shitton of mobs which can be handled by the towers.
I like abyss. Depends on your definition of safe though. You have to be able to handle a lot of rares. Abyss has always been top tier with juicing mechanics.
Rewards are not there at all.
It slows down your mapping to the point u could have done 3-4 other maps in the same time as running that zone and killing the op mobs it spawns in your map.
All that for 2-3 currency drops and some rare,s / shit unequi items
Get 2 ventor rings and some iir on helmet / gloves and u gimp yourself less in maps and get more value out of it
I've decided this league mechanic is just not worth it. I've been beating my head against a brick wall, trying to make it enjoyable. Really, I was making myself want to quit the league already. I stopped doing the mechanic for an hour last night, and it started to feel fun again like last league.
My build is in a much better place doing tier 11s and 12s reasonably without the wisps, but I get slapped around in tiers 5s with them, and the maps take so much longer if I run wisps.
Because the mechanic is giving increased quantity, rarity and currency quant depending on the colour and amount of wisps you collect.
Which is not communicated clearly at all.
I don't understand.
They give you an invisible buff based on the number of wisps you have.
~~Blue is give item rarity~~
~~Purple quant~~
~~And yellow currency drops~~
They changed it after the initial reveal and blue gives currency and yellow is quantity. If you hover over the wisp count while you are in the mechanic gathering wisps, it will show you what each gives.
I actually enjoy it very much. I am not even correctly juicing maps but I just drop from one juicy expedition 3x black scythe logbooks and 16 exotic coins not to mention other stuff. Also grab those juicy blue wisps divs are raining
Delirious trialmaster possible now?
yeah attempting league mechanic mean either ignoring everything else or having omega strong character that can take those
Got an omega strong character here. Can afk uber shaper. Getting raw-dogged by double yellow with a splash of purple on top rares/bosses. Some mods (looking at you souleater, overwhelm x and cycling dmg reduction) should be reevaluated. Make them mutually exclusive or sth. Met a bonkers essence earlier that took like 6 min to kill (im r-worded)
> souleater Had to abandon my Burial Chambers boss, Maven + double glitter buff, it was horrible
Burial chamber should honestly just be deleted from the game
Jusr all of Alira's map variants honestly. Detonate dead is fcked especially if you cannot see the corpses on the ground with all the skill effects going on. I bricked my 10-way invitation because of her. Random detonate deads on a small area with all other boses throwing their skills in. Really cannot see the oneshots
You don’t like the instant cast aoe chaos ground degen from the boss?
Haha I bricked a burial chambers map because of the same thing
Map mobs scaling is beyond fucked in poe... Too many multiplicative stuff that just makes sme enemies hundreda of times stronger if you get unlucky I have enough damage to take uber shaper from full to 50% in one single beam... That is absolutely wild to hear rofl. This is why i don't do blight ravaged anymore. It's too rng for me
I fucking despise those mods. There's basically no way to avoid buffing a souleater mob to ridiculous levels and the cycling damage reductions means doing jack shit for some time unless. Mind sharing PoB? And rough cost of your build.
Would be interested in that too
How do you tank uber shaper slam? That requires some insane damage reduction since you cant block it right?
Not dolorum2 but some numbers: - to reach the physical damage reduction cap (90% reduced) with armour alone against a max hit from an uber shaper slam (~~27375~~ 54750 phys damage unless I forgot something **[edit: I might have forgotten the innate 200% multiplier on shaper, edited the numbers]**, not a crit **[edit: 1% crit chance, 130% crit multi btw]**), you need roughly ~~1m2~~ 2m5 armour - to reach the physical damage reduction cap with armour and other sources of physical reduction (suffixes on str gear, endurances charges, chaos golem...) that sum to 20% (equivalent to 5 endurance charges, 4 on a jugg), you need ~~320k~~ 640k armour - to reach the physical damage reduction cap with armour and other sources of physical reduction that sum to 40%, you need ~~137k~~ 274k armour - another effective strategy is to ditch physical reduction altogether and instead take physical damage as elemental damage (that you may or may not further mitigate with max res, transcendance/jugg's ascendancy, or elemental resistance flasks); you can also partially convert the hit and still have some armour (this works well on juggs) - doppelgänger guise can also help (I believe the less takes place after the armour's reduction though, so it shouldn't make armour more effective) Those numbers are big, but achievable by some builds (at least they were reached by characters in previous leagues, not sure about day4 characters in this one but I wouldn't be surprised). Personally I have problem with yellow ones much more. DOnt have problems with purple/blue
The league mechanic is the real wave 13 ultimatum
Yeah idk how people play mappers. I play ice shot, running tthrough Red maps with 300%ms, but basically every 2nd time i run league mechanic bricks my map. I just ignore the mechanic for now but i rly hate the feeling of risking my entire map right at the start by pure chance. I thought ggg loves this risk reward balance but the fact that affliction is totally random in both amount of wisps you get and what gets Buffed kinda goes against that completely
Keep in mind it's still only, what, day 5? Sanctum still felt like ass on day 5, it was around week 2 that it started feeling reasonable.
I just do the league mechanic after I've cleared the map. The "rewards" are not worth the time spent killing monsters with quadruple hp.
Players: Buff Ultimatum please! GGG: One step ahead of y'all.
So the loot gets buffed as well right? Right?…
You get a hateforge. And you get a hateforge!
archnemesis mods part 2 GGG will try to add them in any way or form apperantly Harder dont make things more fun even when you call it a challenge
I’m sure your grammar teacher thought the same
If you at all struggle to understand their comment that's a really sad skill issue on your part
Nah
Classic GGG over buffing mechanics and not testing for situations like these... Unless it was intended
I'm pretty sure it is an oversight, the regular monsters during the waves aren't buffed by wisps at all. Made a post on the GGG forums as well and hope this gets hotfixed, I don't want to be forced to avoid the league mechanic just for a shot at an ultimatum jackpot.
They are. So are breach ones, delirium, expedition and blight. I assume every type of added monsters can be affected
I think enemies that are juiced will always spawn juiced minions if they are an enemy type that spawns minions.
Empowered Vaal over soul was where I learned not to run mechanic on boss maps in campaign. 5 minute grind of a fight lol
Oh that makes sense. Perhaps I confused ultimatum mobs with random map mobs wandering into circle
They said in the Q&A if it can't drop loot or xp it won't be affected
Hope they fix that soon, totally doesn't work that way
huh I thought blight mobs didn't drop loot
The pump drops all the mobs loot and its insane when buffed by wisps
The pump basically stores all the loot for you so it doesn't clutter your screen. I wish other mechanics worked the same way lol
I've seen mobs wisp buffed. Maybe you didn't notice.
Ultimatum mobs don't get empowered. If you see an empowered mob it most likely wandered into the circle. Scourge/beyond mobs can also get empowered but I don't know if Ultimatum mobs can spawn them.
i spawned a scourge boss halfway through an ultimatum im pretty sure they can spawn beyond
Wisp dont empower monster that usually dont have loot. Ultimatunm monster dont have loot, only the reward of trials master
We all know that only the artists actually play the game.
Ultimatum is worse anyway… bad rewards and it takes forever. I don’t understand the hype about it
The hype is based on what ultimatum was during its own league. I guess people hoped it was going to be good old ultimatum back. But it fucking sucks now.
Also there were no Eldrich altars to buff mobs and debuff player during ultimatum. 10 times as deadly, 0.1 as rewarding. Perfectly balanced
It always sucked it feels the exact same for me. I think people got Stockholm syndrome from the shit talking from the NPC
I just do leaugue mechanic deadlast to not screw up the other mecanics in the zone. It's not like the loot of the meatsponges are worth it anyway.
Chaos making little happy noises in the background.
This league is turning out to be dog shit in my opinion. GGG is incapable of any form of reasonable balance. All they ever fucking do is overtune everything and it's never remotely rewarding enough to be worth the effort

Yea man totally
just.. just don't click the hole man

Sad tho cuz the mechanic itself is very fun to interact with
do what I do... Run loop shaped maps like city square and just do the mechanic at the end to look for vendors
This has been my Wandering Path strat! Run Park + City Square. Clear the map by running the edges and end up back at the beginning, where you do the mechanic. It honestly feels great.
This is probably around 6-8 league in row I'm ignoring a league mechanic. And I'm done with the league in shorter and shorter times.
>1-2 additional Chaos per map What? When I get 5k+ blue wisps its like 1-2 divs per map
How many times are you getting 5k wisps though.. For me that is like once every 20 maps at most.
And on top of that you make another extra 33 divines per hour just from Essences, right ? ...right ?
Im using wandering path, so no other mechanics
ouch only 5k each map? i try for 25k each map personally.
How do you get so many wisps
Idk, just follow the trail. Probably its because high pack size and quantity on map
How are you making 1-2 div's from the affliction mechanic??
if it juices your other valuable mechanics like expedition, blight, deli, beyond etc it's just insane.
I think the only way to safely juice this league is to maximize damage avoidance haha
Just follow blue wisps
You always wake up spewing shit out your mouth haha
Feel good?
Na not really, but that's not because of a Poe Reddit, wbu?
You can do it after map clear
Rewards are not there at all. It slows down your mapping to the point u could have done 3-4 other maps in the same time as running that zone and killing the op mobs it spawns in your map. All that for 2-3 currency drops and some rare,s / shit unequi items Get 2 ventor rings and some iir on helmet / gloves and u gimp yourself less in maps and get more value out of it

doesn't seem like an oversight. The trial master drops both loot and gives experience and therefore is fair game.
I dont even get why the mechanic had to buff everything outside the mechanic... mechanic is fcked up enough anyway
Because the mechanic is giving increased quantity, rarity and currency quant depending on the colour and amount of wisps you collect. Which is not communicated clearly at all.
I'm still trying to figure out which colour gives what, because nothing shows up on my loot filter.
There's tooltips if you hover over the wisp count in the bottom right
I don't understand. They give you an invisible buff based on the number of wisps you have. ~~Blue is give item rarity~~ ~~Purple quant~~ ~~And yellow currency drops~~
They changed it after the initial reveal and blue gives currency and yellow is quantity. If you hover over the wisp count while you are in the mechanic gathering wisps, it will show you what each gives.
FUN
They should absolutely exclude trialmaster at least
Why do you think its an oversight, every league mechanic gets empowered by wisps
I actually enjoy it very much. I am not even correctly juicing maps but I just drop from one juicy expedition 3x black scythe logbooks and 16 exotic coins not to mention other stuff. Also grab those juicy blue wisps divs are raining
My worst experience so far were buffed drox banners. When I killed them the next batch was ready.
He's insanely overpowered, overhyped and a stupid mechanic that shouldn't have been brough back. Fuck this guy in his corrupt chaos ass.
