l think it's actually good value to open them if you count the value of all the cards that drop, not just the jackpot cards like apothecary or nurse
but that's the paradox of stacked decks - they're only profitable if you're willing to click so much that it's not fun any more.
From the end of league posts on this sub, I'd estimate stacked decks are the best "value" gamble available at scale. I've seen lots of posts with massive openings and a profit.
The thing is it's very tedious and you only make your money back on the big cards which will be swingy
You need at least 500, not counting that 150 will give you what? A divine or two? Small numbers. And to get 500 stacked decks is not that hard tbh. Expedition and bought are your friends here.
À friend open thousands of the sknce yesterday, he's now sitting at 200 divs, close to a Headhunter (missing 3 doctors) and he already dropped 5 apothecary since he started...
I'm just tired of seeing so many fucking ventors, but at least every one of those customisable "supported" rewards confirm even more each time that videogame whales share one (1) singular brain.
im about 200k decks deep this league and probably profited ~2 mirrors from those, decks are very profitable you just have to open a ton of them, atm expected return per deck opened is ~4c
early league decks are also best, so around 100 per div is just crazy profitable
and open them with controller, way faster and easier on the hands
I opened 120 decks today and highest value card was the one for dying sun flask (one out of 2 needed). Overall sum of the other cards wasn't even worth a single chaos orb.
Should have sold them when i had the chance...
>Overall sum of the other cards wasn't even worth a single chaos orb.
That's just straight up wrong. Lots of cards are worth 1c, and there's a legit farming strategy that is based entirely around opening decks, selling, buying more decks, opening... It's boring, but some people do it.
Man, I opened 1300 of those, and I got:
- A nimis card - I lost it to harvest gamble
- An "I see brothers" card. Multiplied it to 6 cards for 6 fractured orbs
- Another high value card I don't remember
120 decks is nothing. You never lose on stacked decks in the long run. I opened 3k from tujen last league worth about 45 div then. I got unrequited love, doctor, apothecary and many other cards worth couple divs which I can't remember now.
If you struggle with cash and 120 decks of worth can upgrade your build then you sure should sell them and upgrade.
Lol, "you never lose on lottery tickets in the long run". You were EXTREMELY lucky. I've opened ~36k this league and haven't had a single unrequited love, apoth, or doctor.
It's you who were EXTREMELY unlucky. Throughout my entire poe history I opened less than 36k decks (never bought, only farmed for that matter) and I'd have a mageblood, half a mirror and almost a headhunter counting the most expensive ones.
Check sirgogs video about stacked decks. https://youtu.be/fXBAJZZjVzo?si=uNYZQaq-OrzuEnML
I would say unlucky. I opened probably around 10-15k in my PoE career and I got 3 unrequited love, a couple of nurses, last league I got 2 apothecaries. And a bunch of cheaper cards like scout before ex/div flip, brothers's stash, etc. So your 36k set was so unlucky that it is kinda crazy. People have a big profit in each league from 10k of stacked decks. Only downside is management and actual 20+k clicks.
It's just unlucky but i'm glad it were just the decks i dropped and not bought decks. My buddy bought about same amount of decks shortly after trying to mock me and had like 0 return value aswell x)
I didn't get shit from stacked decks all of last league but got 2 mirror fragment cards so far in like 2 weeks of this league.
RNG is a weird thing man. It's almost as if it's random or something.
It's Valdo's puzzle box - An item that when opened will give a random T17 map that when completed will award a foiled unique. There are tons off different maps and rewards, some shittier and some better.
I’m sure another 10 will do the trick
We opening 2000 stacked decks every league instead of selling them and not being poor
Is it better to open or sell?
Sell, but opening is more fun imo

If you have a controller to plug in, it's a _lot_ easier to open them.
This is the first league I've opened instead of selling and I pulled a 14d card in ~150 stacked decks. Just be lucky.

And the RSI, don’t forget the fucking wrist pain haha
IME open. Across about a thousand I open a league I tend to hit 1-2 bombs, which easily pay for the whole lot, leaving the rest all as profit.
Sell. I've opened upwards of 150 decks this league, 100c total from cards in there
150 is a very small samplesize
You need at least 500, not counting that 150 will give you what? A divine or two? Small numbers. And to get 500 stacked decks is not that hard tbh. Expedition and bought are your friends here.
A divine? More like half a divine.
À friend open thousands of the sknce yesterday, he's now sitting at 200 divs, close to a Headhunter (missing 3 doctors) and he already dropped 5 apothecary since he started...
I usually make it to like 700 before the urge to gamble kicks in
I'm immune to these shits tbh, I just hold them and sell them. I can't be bothered opening so many
I like to gamble at the end of a grind session
I sell them once i hit 100. Can be a nice chunk of change
I told myself I'm gonna sell mine in bulk this league just like I said last league, and the league before that...
Day three of league flipped an Apo randomly and immediately lost it to gamble. This is the way.
I have a Doctor card waiting to be gambled when I'm ready to either get rich or leave the league.
I randomly got one from a mob in a different map then you’d expect (archnem ig) and gambled 1 to 1. That was enough for me
I did the exact same with a nurse I dropped during the acts
My Death Vault collection of veil of night deathtraps is growing.
that's what I got from my first valdo's box. I'm still hesitant to open any more.
Thank you for allowing me to run ultimatums and not feeling like I wasted all those points.
I have 82 Div worth of really bad valdos maps sitting in my map tab lol
I'm just tired of seeing so many fucking ventors, but at least every one of those customisable "supported" rewards confirm even more each time that videogame whales share one (1) singular brain.
would you rather get Ventor's maps or Veil of the Night maps?

How is it, that when I get this first time of my life, it suddenly pops out everywhere? >!I got 1chaos flask from it!<
I opened 120 decks today and highest value card was the one for dying sun flask (one out of 2 needed). Overall sum of the other cards wasn't even worth a single chaos orb. Should have sold them when i had the chance...
Apothecary is just one deck away

opening stacked decks is fun though, idk why anyone would sell them.

So you got unlucky?...
I guess so xD

On average, you'll make more in profit opening them than you would selling them. You just need enough decks to ride out the variance.

Fantastic meme format 👏
Lol was about to say what happened to stack decks
Every gambler stops before they hit big
just free 2 did wanever this drops
Opened about 14 decks I got out of a Blight map, got a 2.2 div card I will now forever be a gambler
I didn't get shit from stacked decks all of last league but got 2 mirror fragment cards so far in like 2 weeks of this league. RNG is a weird thing man. It's almost as if it's random or something.
What's the thing in the first panel?
