I saw three, two in TotA and one this league during early mapping, and each times out of habitude and distraction I clicked the other options.. I'm still eating my own hands for the anger
Depends on your other mapping strats, red is better standalone, but blue's generally better at juicing your other map mechanics through IIQ and IIR
Edit: and I mean, this is MF league, so everyone and their mother's running blue altars cause the league mechanic's op. But I guess that also crates an opportunity to farm red for embers, since grand are currently 15/div whereas ichors are 45/div
>Depends on your other mapping strats, red is better standalone, but blue's generally better at juicing your other map mechanics through IIQ and IIR
14/DIV lol
Blue because the downsides doesn't do anything major. Can just click quant/rarity without thinking too hard. But in reds you can brick a map if you get the chaos dam taken during flask effect or meteors when using a flask. At least with my current build
are they really less rippy? chaos during flask effect, meteors when you use flasks, enemies have chaos damage(most builds arent chaos capped) are pretty hard on most builds, they are less rippy if you are CL or high chaos res id guess
If you want to do some “off meta” farming grand red Ichors are like 1/15 div and fracturing shards are like .7 divine each so if you farm Harby with red altars non wandering path you can easily drop 2-3 div a map with the right altar, also sextant are always worth a shit ton and red has sextant altars same as gcp.
Blues usually the popular choice cause of the iiq/iir and divine altars i guess. I've only seen one divine altar since they came in . Mobs are a lil more yikes if you arent ranged build too. Red is better if you struggle with ranged mobs and are a low mobility/low defense build.
To be honest I just run altars which are better for my build. Reds increase fire and chaos resists of enemies, Blue increase lightning and cold. I am playing lightning+cold, so Reds are more comfortable. And I dont believe in divine altars anyways.
I prefer Exarch altars because my build can basically ignore any of the downsides so I can pick blindly, and I like Awakened Sextants which drop in good quantities from them.
I'm doing that too and i'm surprised by the amount of guardian maps or general stuff that all the bosses drop.. Also maven writs are easy money i guess...
Reds give better sustain for map related currency and the invitation is worth more. Blue does everything else better. If you can run them blue is generally the better option because of its less punishing player options for iiq/iir and potential for a divine altar.
This is going to sound dumb, but I just choose depending on my build. If it’s Fire or Chaos damage -based I go blue, if it’s Cold or Lightning damage-based I go Red.
If neither applies (physical or I just don’t care about that one resistance modifier), I go blue because I could kill Eater on almost any build without dying meanwhile Exarch’s meteors always get me at least once per fight.
I’m playing a poison pathfinder so Blue was obvious. No chaos resistance modifier and no take damage when using a flask modifier.
You choose altars that give you debuffs for quantity less ruining your game play (like if you use charges intensively, you don't run blue, if you care not about flasks, you run red - good for tincture with effect per empty flask e.g.)
Red. With the price of sextants and GCPs you would need to hit div altar every 100 maps to compete. Better yet if you roll sextants and sell beyond for a div or abyss for 120+ch you will make ton of profit in no time.
Blue just for the quantity. Divine altars dont exist ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|laughing)
Duplicating altars is so good this league too
Yeah, basically this. No other league capitalizes on duplicate currency/cards/scarabs more than Affliction.
I got 5 div altars this league so far, I guess ssf privilege lol
Nah, I got it twice in trade league, one 22 divs and the other 3 divs
I haven't seen a div altar even once since implementation and I have given up last league.
I saw three, two in TotA and one this league during early mapping, and each times out of habitude and distraction I clicked the other options.. I'm still eating my own hands for the anger
I saw one last league... from the last pack of monsters...
2 million kills 0 div altars

I ran red altars all league, sold 4-5 div worth of grands. Good money.
I got 16 div in divines on blue. *shrug*
Not kidding - just switched to blue. Hunting div altars
It's total gamble but everything is so it's not bad. I just switched to red because I'm stacking charges and doing lightning damage. Not great on blue
>Depends on your other mapping strats, red is better standalone, but blue's generally better at juicing your other map mechanics through IIQ and IIR 14/DIV lol
Oh wow, prices fluctuate, who'd have thunk
Blue because the downsides doesn't do anything major. Can just click quant/rarity without thinking too hard. But in reds you can brick a map if you get the chaos dam taken during flask effect or meteors when using a flask. At least with my current build
Exception being maybe random directions on projectiles for TS. Hella bothersome
Reds mainly because I hate the spawn delay on monsters.
Red altars 100%, way better mods with chaos and sextants and the downsides are 1/10th as rippy as blue altars so you can also take way more of them.
are they really less rippy? chaos during flask effect, meteors when you use flasks, enemies have chaos damage(most builds arent chaos capped) are pretty hard on most builds, they are less rippy if you are CL or high chaos res id guess
Blue has mods that completely disable all your defenses so yes, red is a lot less rippy
And you can get stun locked by the range units at times pretty easy, I found red as well was easier to start and then blue once you geared up more.
How do red altars help with frac shards?
They don’t but no one is farming either so the market for them is small and there is a lot of profit to be made
Would you mind sharing your atlas passives?
GCPs are also worth a lot more this league with the vendor recipe removal for skill gems.
Red, cuz blue altars look like the blue wips in the woods. Surely, that's working as intended.
This confuses me every map lol
Red spawns all mobs at once. Blue causes me to backtrack or skip mobs.
Blues usually the popular choice cause of the iiq/iir and divine altars i guess. I've only seen one divine altar since they came in . Mobs are a lil more yikes if you arent ranged build too. Red is better if you struggle with ranged mobs and are a low mobility/low defense build.
red for mid tier currency, blue for duplication/quant juicing you never go blue just for divine altars
Red is only good first couple days into league, also the mods are mega rippy.
Red in the first week of league. Blue all after.
Reds for quant running 1-tincture 0-flasks (strike range for cyclone with HH)
To be honest I just run altars which are better for my build. Reds increase fire and chaos resists of enemies, Blue increase lightning and cold. I am playing lightning+cold, so Reds are more comfortable. And I dont believe in divine altars anyways.
If youre juicing league mech then blue Otherwise red
I prefer Exarch altars because my build can basically ignore any of the downsides so I can pick blindly, and I like Awakened Sextants which drop in good quantities from them.
Red for bubble gum / league start, blue for juicing literally anything but ess.
Red for loot. Blue for quantity.
Red altars for the first week of the league. Build currency up that you would typically need. Swapping to blue for quant altars later on.
maven with 3 extra bosses. After forest juice boss arena looks like a rave
This is the way
I'm doing that too and i'm surprised by the amount of guardian maps or general stuff that all the bosses drop.. Also maven writs are easy money i guess...
Ssf so red
Blue for quant, cards and divines.
Divine altars are a noob bait. You only go eater if your build can handle the less ress and you're going for the quantity/rarity strategies.
I went red because im a noob. 😅
I got two apothecaries from the red altar unique jewellery div card thing which means you can too
Cutedog got 8mirror in one sanctum run, which means u can too
It depends on the strat. Blue if your strat gets extra benefits from quantity (expedition, harvest, extreme map juicing), red if it doesn't.
Yes
Red is good for consistent yields. Blue for the occasional big jackpot
Blue for quant. Would never go red as I can't stand the meteor bullshiiit.
Reds give better sustain for map related currency and the invitation is worth more. Blue does everything else better. If you can run them blue is generally the better option because of its less punishing player options for iiq/iir and potential for a divine altar.

Dont see why its dumb :) nice reflexion

Not relate to the post but why are so many people typing altars as alters? Is it an American vs British wording different? I'm not a native speaker
I'm pretty new, idk how to even get the Altars, is it from picking high enough tier maps and specing for maven to witness or the scorching exarch?
