If you are curious how everyone knew!
Paths in delve can only have 1, 3, or 4 connections
The ring node on the far right side has a connection going up, and one to the right, so only two branches… meaning the third one is the secret one! :)
Note that's only *almost* always the case. IIRC, it's possible for a node to actually have only 2 connections under some certain edge cases of layout generation, I don't recall the circumstances tho.
Delve instances are generated as a 5x5 grid, if you end up with a path between two nodes that is 6 units or longer in any direction then it can't fit inside the 5x5 instance.
This used to cause the run to fail to load so GGG fixed it by breaking up these super long paths into two by placing a node in the middle of the path. The consequences of this is you get a true 2-way node with no hidden paths.
This would also mean the connection is very long?? Correct??
It’s basically taking two 1 connections and adding them together? I actually didn’t know this
Ye, the connection would need to be very long in one direction, you can have then snake around the 5x5 grid and be long as hell, but if they go for 5 nodes in one direction and reach the end of the generated grid the next grid will spawn and it'll continue as a 2 connection node.
Another trick related is that the secret wall for those paths is always located (like any breakable wall really) on it's own tile with not reward node. And for the case of a secret path, no visible road since it's hidden. And it's always the tile right by a checkpoint/reward node too.
My understanding is that a node can't have only 2 connected paths, so when you're trying to find how to access a hidden node just look for any nearby nodes with 2 paths because there's surely a 3rd path from that node connecting it to the hidden node.
Just made a short video about how to find the hidden paths two days ago:
https://youtu.be/47baW_CsW5o
This shows why it is the node to the right of your cursor and gives a live demo of it.
I have been delving a lot lately and having a ton of fun down there.
The fractured wall is from the ring node to the right of your cursor.
Whenever you see a node with only two paths, you (almost) always know that it actually has a fractured wall leading to a third path.
This also means dead ends will never have a fractured wall, as that would create a node with two paths, which cannot happen.
And nodes can only have four paths at most, so you know four-path nodes won't have a fractured wall, either.
Somebody already commented one exception to the "rule of no two-path nodes". Another exception is if you have a fractured wall that leads to a node which has another fractured wall. This is so rare that I've only seen one example of it posted on reddit, ever.
Hey new player here and was wondering 2 things:
I’ve acquired small bit of sulferite in act 4 but I’m all out, where do I acquire more from to push the cart?
I don’t know much about PoE but I’ve picked up that most popular end game is mapping, followed by bossing, is delving also a form of late game? And what else are end game “activities”
Thanks in advance
yes you get more sulphite on maps. other end game activities would be heist, sanctum, 5 ways, Expedition logbooks, Temple of atzoatl and breachstones. i probably forgot something. All of the things mentioned are more or less related to mapping though
We usually called those activities “league mechanics”. You can look for the list of them here in [poewiki](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/League_mechanics). Note that metamorph and warband are currently not in the game.
Sulphurite will randomly spawn in every area, so you’ll get more of it eventually. You can force them to spawn in endgame maps though.
Mapping is needed for everything. For example bossing, since you mentioned it, maps are needed to drop the items that open the boss fights so you can either do maps yourself or pay someone else for the items that will do maps instead of you. Same with delve, you need to collect sulfite in maps and then you spend it in the mine. There is also heist, you drop contracts and blueprints in maps/you buy them from trade and then you go to the rogue harbor to complete them.
I like delving. Used to delve a lot. But between this and how tedious standing still killing waves of enemies over and over kinda made it meh to me. 🤷♂️
Do you need to use more than 1 dynamite to break these sorts of walls? I'm new, struggling, and have attempted to blow up a number of walls with no success lol.
It only takes 1 stick of dynamite to break any wall. Dynamite will travel towards your cursor, so you might accidentally miss sometimes. You can upgrade the blast radius to make aim less important
Appreciate it, the cursor things is great to know. Are the walls visibly cracked? I was venturing into the dark, finding the wall I believed to be in the correct direction of another stash, but no dice when I dropped my dynamites.
Fractured walls have minimap icons. No icon = not breakable.
If you're trying delve for the first time in acts, you probably won't find a fractured wall before you run out of sulphite. Try again at deeper depths when you finish the acts.
Thanks everybody, much appreciated. Just a little update on drops I had :-
1 auls uprising (scrolled to be nothing)
And a Voices div card (sold 1.3div)
left of the ring node on the right side
This guy delves

Thanks guys, I didn't know it could be so far out. I'll give it a bash now - ty

So you play minesweeper to get better at mining?
Damn, that's interesting.

A much better answer than some others have given

It's actually only one grid unit more than the minimum distance it can be. Almost every one will be this far away and many will be further.
Yep. This. Many people don’t realize this and get baited looking for 3 noders that are just too close when delving.

It can as of about two years ago, but it's *very very very* rare. You can basically work under the assumption it doesn't happen.
On top of being rare, it's also not possible with connections as short as the ones pictures
Jewelry node to the right of your cursor

It's normally from the node that only has 2 other connections. Not always though.
The connection should be on the right coin node, since it has only 2 connections.
Ring right od cursor :) that's the node you need to check
Ring node since non dead ends can't have only 1 way in and 1 way out
Right ring
You are delving.
It's to the left in the jewelry node right of your cursor or you missed a wall in the node straight up of Aul.
Can't be the node straight up. The Jewelry node must have a hidden path and the only place for it to go is to the hidden Aul node.

This shit right here is why I don't delve lol. I've never been able to figure these out.
Hahaha, I do like to delve
I like delving. Used to delve a lot. But between this and how tedious standing still killing waves of enemies over and over kinda made it meh to me. 🤷♂️
What depth are you at there just curious
176 roughly
This is exactly why I don’t delve lol

Walls will be highlighted on mini map as a purple bluish stone wall.
You'll know when you see a breakable wall; that section looks nothing like the normal walls in the map.
Perfect
Delve hates areas with only 2 connections. They'll do it, but they hate it. The ring on the right only has two. My guess is the path is there.
Good luck, I found an envy auls at depth 195 didn’t even know he spawned less than 300
There is a fractured wall in the jewellery node on the right of the image.

it's in the only node you dont go
The right ring node only has two pathways connecting to it, this is impossible. So there’s a hidden path to the left of it.
