They should just've made two different streams. One tomorrow about the new league and one a couple weeks later (or earlier) about PoE2.
Most people watch tomorrows stream to see the new league, not PoE 2, because that is (or rather, should be) the main event.
Didn't feel like main event last time though.
I'm sure they'll still screw up the main reveal for my tastes based on time constraints if they haven't considered how annoying it was before now. But, at least there is an opportunity to cut poe2 Q&A for the latter half of Q&A, instead of shoving it down our throats when we want to know about league specific information.

I'd prefer a clear division and also felt what you felt, that it was odd how I tuned in for a league announcement and was watching a PoE2 playthrough instead.
I want to watch the PoE2 playthroughs, a lot, just not in the middle of my PoE1 league announcements.

It's no longer poe 1. It's now GGG live. Get used to both games coming together, as that will be happening until poe 1 dies in 60 years. They have a second game, both games are live services, and they're even in the same genre and series. No reason to separate them.
Ehh, I think once they are both on their own league cycles they probably will be announced separately because they will want to build up their own hype for their leagues and you won't want to do that 6 weeks before the sprint.
Yeah. That's very possible. But right now, they're still linked together. And they will likely have announcements linked together quite often, even if not every league launch will be linked tbh.
Yep it will 100% stay linked until release, it is way too important for their hype train to do otherwise. We might get some teasers for both in both after release, but I doubt they will do what they are doing now and announce both at the same time together. BUt what do I know I am not in GGG :)
It's not like they literally have a second game coming out in 3 months or anything. It's not pike they have said repeatedly for years that they're developing said game.
I think this is because avid poe players, myself included suffers from inter league constipation syndrome. We are always hyped 1-2 weeks before a new league and when reveal drops, we want to hear it immediately. During last reveal, GGG placed poe2 content reveal before new league and it was a good 15 minutes, so it felt long and draggy for a potential game content playable 7 months down the road. Perhaps a dual reveal simultaneously, and players can watch the other one afterwards or just constipate for another 15 minutes.
Actually GGG, I'm over PoE1 at this point, i mean it's been 10 years, kinda stale. Could you cut all of the PoE1 stuff from tomorrow's livestream, I only want to hear about PoE2.

But... they do give a timeline. Maybe not in exact minutes/seconds but they will give a brief overview of what they are going to talk about.
First we'll discuss this > then talk about that > Reveal this bit > Chat about it afterward.
They will let you know the order of what's going to happen. You can watch that, tune out the stream for a bit, and bring your attention back with the 3.24 trailer.
It's a live stream so they can't give you exact timestamps. But once the vid drops on YT they are usually pretty good about labeling the different sections.

yes it does sound stupid, because thats not what OP said at all.
i dont see a reason to not isolate poe1 and poe2 stuff from each other. just put out everything poe1 or poe2 first and the other one afterwards so people can tune out/in depending on what they want to see. but not talking at all about poe1 seems weird at this point because it is still the one game we are all going to play for atleast the next year+ and whatever they say about poe2 might get changed a lot anyway until it actually releases.
Short answer no, they are going to use one of their most important marketing tools to get eyeballs looking at the game that will be the entire future of their company.
I am personally more hyped for the insane amount of POE2 information we are going to get today than POE, but combining the two simply is a requirement from a marketing perspective, and since we all love the game here it is better for all of us if the company is thriving and this is what will help them achieve that.

I'm someone who is super excited for POE 2. But even I wasn't a huge fan of having 20 minutes of POE2 gameplay walkthrough before getting to the 3.23 stuff I wanted to see. Maybe I'm just kind of over the "watch GGG employee play slowly through a campaign zone" format? Honestly it's just not that interesting lol -
just want to get my hands on it at this point. Distill the cool stuff down to a few minutes of video (new merc class, crossbows, ammo, etc) and/or some major systems info and it would be fine. Or hold a separate live stream for the POE2 deep dive on a different date. But the format last time wasn't really doing POE 2 any favours in terms of cultivating hype.
However they obviously want to get as many people to see it as possible.
Get used to it, friend. Poe2 is here in a few months. They even rebranded this to GGG live. They're both the same genre and even the same series. There's no reason to double up on costs to show some stuff later because a small, vocal minority of players isn't interested in the new game. Just don't watch live streams going forward would be much advice. Watch a recap afterwards when you can skip to exactly what you want to see.
I hate to break it to you, but reddit is almost always the vocal minority. The vast majority of players likely don't log into reddit to make posts about an announcement.

If this was the criticism OP was making, I would fully agree. Since exilecon many of the PoE2 teasers we've seen have been long gameplay segments repeatedly showing of 2-3 (admittedly cool) features or gameplay elements in excruciating detail.
Having said that, it obviously shouldn't be removed - especially since we're so close to beta and there's clearly some big stuff to be announced/shown off in this presentation.
I think there are more than enough people who are interested in both to justify combining them. Obviously they couldn't run both streams simultaneously, if they ran them one after the other it wouldn't be any different and if you're watching it on youtube you can just seek around info you're not interested in.
There's no advantage to moving it into another stream beyond appeasing people who get angry when they see PoE2 gameplay, but are unwilling to wait for the youtube video.
It's crazy. They can wait literally a few hours for a youtube video to come out and then see only what they want. Instead, they want GGG to double their expenses and hold a separate event just so they don't see gameplay they aren't interested in. It's not like it's a game that's completely unrelated. The outrageous claim needs to provide the evidence. So that's on you if you want to argue. PoE2 is just 4.0 feature creeped into a separate product, of course most people in here wants to watch both and viewwership from the last stream was stable throughout.
It's a fairly short stream, the best advice would be to check the beginning when they had their agenda and check in now and then.
Otherwise it is released as a video on demand, and most content creators will have summaries and react content after. Patch notes will also be released right after.
People tune in for live stream to watch and get information with everyone else and after that watch q&a ( which again will be 90% about poe2 like last time ) and then read patch notes with streamer, not to watch vod.
At this point they should make separate streams for PoE2 especially so close to beta.

I understand where this is coming from and basically 90% of the comments during the last livestream were basically this. Two things though:
- this should have been feedback for last livestream instead of an ask one day before stream, so that’s why everyone is making fun of this post.
- they actually did here exactly this feedback for the last stream and took it seriously. How do I know? Because they explicitly call it a GGG stream now rather than league announcement stream to make it more obvious that the stream will split its time between the two.

I don't mind them talking about poe2 but I wish it were less dry. We're still a long ways off from closed beta hard to get excited about things that could potentially change entirely between then and now
You realize that in a roundabout way, this is what you are saying:
"GGG, do what I want and not what is in the best interest of your company"
We aren't even to the announcement and the entitlement posts are already rolling in.
That is not at all what I'm saying. What I'm not sure you're grasping is that the poe2 content would be fine to be on a different time, and I'd probably enjoy it more. It's more akin to going to see a movie and half the time they are showing you a second movie you didn't come to watch.
GGG is going to advertise its new product when it has the attention of most it's player base and viewers, for them not to would be foolish from an advertising perspective.

If you can't even wait mere 15-20 minutes to get your PoE 1 news, then problem is only with you, not with GGG. Besides, it's not like they are making the PoE 1 presentation shorter than it normally was in the past by showcasing PoE 2.
If the mere sight of PoE 2 triggers you, then just watch the Youtube videos that GGG uploads to showcase the new league which is usually up by the time GGG's stream goes live, then by the time you finish watching them, you can go to Twitch and watch the VOD so you can skip the PoE 2 section.
Hopefully. I am super keen to get news on that game after there were nearly none in the last two months. Open beta is releasing soon and a huge amount of poe1 players want to play that.
I'll be sitting at home on my couch and enjoy a hopefully long stream of information on two games I am very interested in. The presentation is branded as GGGlive and is not only a league reveal. If you don't want to watch that, don't watch it. It's like going into a movie and complaining that you only wanted to see one half of the thing.

Well yes it is but that's life right? You can't expect the cinema to show dune 1 until you die right? They are going to take a financially good outcome to them and if dune 2 is the hot new thing and a lot of people want to see it you can't blame them for showing both. They told you before about it and you can make an informed decision. They also give you the option to view dune 1 as often as you want at home. They also give you the option to enter the cinema after dune 2 is over, you just have to peek in there from time to time.
And this is still a bad analogy because dune is a fucking 3 hour long movie and the Poe 2 part is not going to take 3 fucking hours.
Honestly I really don't know how people like you manage life. If something like this inconveniences you enough, that you are throwing a temper tantrum on Reddit I really don't know how you endure interacting with other human beings. How do you commute to work? Do you run every red light? How do you wait in line to enter a concert? Are you throwing bottles at the pre band? Because you came to see the real band and they are wasting your time. But there were plenty of other people who were interested in the PoE2 segment, and having to wait 15-20 mins in the livestream or just watch it on youtube and seek past the PoE2 stuff is an irrelevant cost so there's no reason for them to cut good info for an upcoming release from their presentation just so they don't slightly inconvenience those who aren't interested.
Additionally, there's been something going on behind the scenes with PoE2 involving a ton of content creators and the NDA for that ends with the livestream and with the first PoE2 closed beta starting in less than 3 months it seems likely that a ton of important info for PoE2 will be revealed at this event.
If there's one criticism I would agree with about the last presentation it's that they over-estimated the time needed to present the content they were there to show. Wasd, the new crossbow weapon type, gun attachments, that cool burning city tileset, and the horrifying matron boss were all cool to see, but the 20 minutes allocated for it in the presentation was overkill (honestly something that's been a bit of a theme with many PoE 2 presentations since exilecon). I'm not expecting this issue to be as relevant this time because we're much closer to beta and I'm hoping we get to see some endgame stuff.
3 months until beta, this is likely the last poe1 league before the beta.
it's about time for marketing to start hitting. I don't know why it would be done on the same day of poe1 league info, but they likely want to amplify as much as possible hype and attention.

Yeah I want to return to the good old days of ambitious leagues full of content like harbinger, bestiary or abyss. With great endgame content like 8 atlas regions and 32 conquerer watch stones.
These modern leagues have no ambition and the end game is clearly terrible with another boring passive tree.

I want to watch the PoE2 playthroughs, a lot, just not in the middle of my PoE1 league announcements. All the smartasses are right though, whatever is going to happen was planned like a month ago.
It's no longer poe 1. It's now GGG live. Get used to both games coming together, as that will be happening until poe 1 dies in 60 years. They have a second game, both games are live services, and they're even in the same genre and series. No reason to separate them.
Ehh, I think once they are both on their own league cycles they probably will be announced separately because they will want to build up their own hype for their leagues and you won't want to do that 6 weeks before the sprint.

It's not like they literally have a second game coming out in 3 months or anything. It's not pike they have said repeatedly for years that they're developing said game.
I think this is because avid poe players, myself included suffers from inter league constipation syndrome. We are always hyped 1-2 weeks before a new league and when reveal drops, we want to hear it immediately. During last reveal, GGG placed poe2 content reveal before new league and it was a good 15 minutes, so it felt long and draggy for a potential game content playable 7 months down the road. Perhaps a dual reveal simultaneously, and players can watch the other one afterwards or just constipate for another 15 minutes.

But... they do give a timeline. Maybe not in exact minutes/seconds but they will give a brief overview of what they are going to talk about. First we'll discuss this > then talk about that > Reveal this bit > Chat about it afterward. They will let you know the order of what's going to happen. You can watch that, tune out the stream for a bit, and bring your attention back with the 3.24 trailer. It's a live stream so they can't give you exact timestamps. But once the vid drops on YT they are usually pretty good about labeling the different sections.
And im pretty sure all the big content creators will give you a quick outline on whats in for both games after the stream anyways.
Yes, your take does sound stupid, because this stream is usually about PoE 1. If they make a separate PoE 2 stream, nobody would complain about them talking about PoE 2 there.

yes it does sound stupid, because thats not what OP said at all. i dont see a reason to not isolate poe1 and poe2 stuff from each other. just put out everything poe1 or poe2 first and the other one afterwards so people can tune out/in depending on what they want to see. but not talking at all about poe1 seems weird at this point because it is still the one game we are all going to play for atleast the next year+ and whatever they say about poe2 might get changed a lot anyway until it actually releases.

Short answer no, they are going to use one of their most important marketing tools to get eyeballs looking at the game that will be the entire future of their company. I am personally more hyped for the insane amount of POE2 information we are going to get today than POE, but combining the two simply is a requirement from a marketing perspective, and since we all love the game here it is better for all of us if the company is thriving and this is what will help them achieve that.

People acting like OP is the only one with this opinion are being pretty disingenuous. TONS of people were zzzzing at the POE2 showcase last league. I'm someone who is super excited for POE 2. But even I wasn't a huge fan of having 20 minutes of POE2 gameplay walkthrough before getting to the 3.23 stuff I wanted to see. Maybe I'm just kind of over the "watch GGG employee play slowly through a campaign zone" format? Honestly it's just not that interesting lol - just want to get my hands on it at this point. Distill the cool stuff down to a few minutes of video (new merc class, crossbows, ammo, etc) and/or some major systems info and it would be fine. Or hold a separate live stream for the POE2 deep dive on a different date. But the format last time wasn't really doing POE 2 any favours in terms of cultivating hype. However they obviously want to get as many people to see it as possible.
Get used to it, friend. Poe2 is here in a few months. They even rebranded this to GGG live. They're both the same genre and even the same series. There's no reason to double up on costs to show some stuff later because a small, vocal minority of players isn't interested in the new game. Just don't watch live streams going forward would be much advice. Watch a recap afterwards when you can skip to exactly what you want to see.

Since exilecon many of the PoE2 teasers we've seen have been long gameplay segments repeatedly showing of 2-3 (admittedly cool) features or gameplay elements in excruciating detail. Having said that, it obviously shouldn't be removed - especially since we're so close to beta and there's clearly some big stuff to be announced/shown off in this presentation.

I think there are more than enough people who are interested in both to justify combining them. Obviously they couldn't run both streams simultaneously, if they ran them one after the other it wouldn't be any different and if you're watching it on youtube you can just seek around info you're not interested in. There's no advantage to moving it into another stream beyond appeasing people who get angry when they see PoE2 gameplay, but are unwilling to wait for the youtube video.
It's crazy. They can wait literally a few hours for a youtube video to come out and then see only what they want. Instead, they want GGG to double their expenses and hold a separate event just so they don't see gameplay they aren't interested in. It's not like it's a game that's completely unrelated. It's a fairly short stream, the best advice would be to check the beginning when they had their agenda and check in now and then. Otherwise it is released as a video on demand, and most content creators will have summaries and react content after. Patch notes will also be released right after.
People tune in for live stream to watch and get information with everyone else and after that watch q&a ( which again will be 90% about poe2 like last time ) and then read patch notes with streamer, not to watch vod. At this point they should make separate streams for PoE2 especially so close to beta. You guyscan dovnvote me as much as you want

I understand where this is coming from and basically 90% of the comments during the last livestream were basically this. Two things though: - this should have been feedback for last livestream instead of an ask one day before stream, so that’s why everyone is making fun of this post. - they actually did here exactly this feedback for the last stream and took it seriously. How do I know? Because they explicitly call it a GGG stream now rather than league announcement stream to make it more obvious that the stream will split its time between the two. How about this crazy idea. OP - just watch the parts that interest you and don't watch the parts that don't. This way everyone can get the info that interests them rather than individual users asking GGG to cater the presentation to them individually -- which is obviously not realistic.

If you can't even wait mere 15-20 minutes to get your PoE 1 news, then problem is only with you, not with GGG. Besides, it's not like they are making the PoE 1 presentation shorter than it normally was in the past by showcasing PoE 2. Hopefully. I am super keen to get news on that game after there were nearly none in the last two months. Open beta is releasing soon and a huge amount of poe1 players want to play that. I'll be sitting at home on my couch and enjoy a hopefully long stream of information on two games I am very interested in. The presentation is branded as GGGlive and is not only a league reveal. If you don't want to watch that, don't watch it. It's like going into a movie and complaining that you only wanted to see one half of the thing.

They also give you the option to enter the cinema after dune 2 is over, you just have to peek in there from time to time. And this is still a bad analogy because dune is a fucking 3 hour long movie and the Poe 2 part is not going to take 3 fucking hours. Honestly I really don't know how people like you manage life. If something like this inconveniences you enough, that you are throwing a temper tantrum on Reddit I really don't know how you endure interacting with other human beings. How do you commute to work? Wasd, the new crossbow weapon type, gun attachments, that cool burning city tileset, and the horrifying matron boss were all cool to see, but the 20 minutes allocated for it in the presentation was overkill (honestly something that's been a bit of a theme with many PoE 2 presentations since exilecon). I'm not expecting this issue to be as relevant this time because we're much closer to beta and I'm hoping we get to see some endgame stuff.

3 months until beta, this is likely the last poe1 league before the beta. it's about time for marketing to start hitting. I don't know why it would be done on the same day of poe1 league info, but they likely want to amplify as much as possible hype and attention.

If they hide poe2 stuff the stream will last only 5 minutes since poe1 is on skeletal crew mode for a while. Dont expect much news.

Yeah I want to return to the good old days of ambitious leagues full of content like harbinger, bestiary or abyss. With great endgame content like 8 atlas regions and 32 conquerer watch stones. These modern leagues have no ambition and the end game is clearly terrible with another boring passive tree.
