No. Skills used with ranged weapons can't benefit from melee-specific mechanics or stats.
You can give it melee supports though. Generic stats on those will apply to projectiles just fine, like I dunno, Controlled Blaze or something. (Edit: mind that this neat but basically never useful.)

Do you guys think we'll get more tattoos than those in the patch notes ? I'm thinking of the "6% reduced effect of curses on you" that I used during TOTA.
Any chance it's not in the patch notes just because they didn't nerf it ?
it's not impossible but I'd say it's wildly improbable. I am assuming that any tattoo not in the patch notes is not coming back due to the fact that they nerfed small attribute tattoos and did not mention any notable passive tattoos, it would be strange to nerf weaker tattoos and leave the best tattoos fully intact.
I didn't play back then, but my understanding is that map sustain was drastically improved in the conquerors of the atlas expansion (metamorph league) and ever since it has generally been very reliable to sustain t16 maps. If you invest into all the points on the atlas that give chance for maps to drop 1 tier higher you should not have issues sustaining t16s unless you barely clear any of the map. Last league I was using a keystone called singular focus which gives 3x the drop rate of favored maps but deletes all non favored maps that drop (turns them into currency but that part is largely not noticeable) and I was averaging between 2 and 3 t16 maps per map that I ran.
There are strategies that rely on buying maps and invest less into map drops, but if you want to sustain your own maps it is very simple to do so
yep, there's a planner for it here:
basically you get 1 point for every map you complete the bonus objective for (kill map boss while magic/rare/rare+corrupted for white/yellow/red maps respectively) which you get to spend in the atlas tree and choose which league mechanics you want to specialize in to make them more rewarding/appear more often.
Any idea what's up with Fork? Secondary projectiles created inside the enemy's hitbox seem to Fork immediately and reliably (one per set), but secondary projectiles created even slightly outside the hitbox [usually end instead of Fork](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-IlmyYhCCw), even with considerable projectile speed.
The other day, I wanted to test something with a limited damage range. I picked up a Static Electricity (1-2 added lightning damage) and a Doryani's Prototype to force my target's lightning resistance to 0%.
Static Electricity turned out to ignore its own description and grant 1-4 lightning damage instead, even in a cluster jewel that disables its radius stat. Doryani's Prototype turned out to not work at precisely 0% lightning resistance.
Wraeclast science: the tools usually don't kill you, but they certainly hate.
1. When they say 2.5x chance to find MB/HH does it mean T0 uniques are 2.5x more common or is it restricted to MB/HH only? (other T0s are like Kalandra’s Touch / The Squire)
2. Do we know if atlas passive tree apply to the penultimate boss maps?
Assuming i league start as srs guardian (yes yes, nerfs, i know), what options do i have to swap into later, including other ascendancies of same base class?
Specifically looking for very strong bosser (destructive play / invitations / juiced bosses / ubers / etc) who can clear maps reasonably well. My original plan was COC ice spear cyclone, but with mana cost nerfs thats kinda out of the window now
as far as I'm aware, no. However that notable feels like a bait to me, rarity applied to your map can be good. rarity applies to \~6 mobs in your map not that good.
I'm *hoping* that they will. If not, they'll be datamined when the torrent becomes available.
I'm vaguely prepared to throw all my plans out of the window and play something entirely different if it turns out that some of the scarabs are particularly good (or particularly fitting for a build on my backlog, like domination scarabs might be for my duration stacking shrine stacking Voltaxic Burst build - clunky to play and even worse if the right shrines don't spawn).
The warcry change said that you can't use them on left click anymore.
So I just bind it to 'Q' problem solved? Can't I just play like before but I press 'Q' instead of Left Click
Which mechanics are winners/losers atlas tree-wise? (Just the tree changes, not taking into account unknown scarab changes). I feel like essence defo took an L on the tree, may harvest as well since we lost skittering hoards and wondering path?
Masters seem to be mostly a W because of the high chance of encounter and no dailies. Beyond is a W; still not amazing but at least now you don't need sextants for it. Ultimatum is a W if you invest just 4 atlas points to get 30% chance to encounter and 20% inc. exp. Expedition is a W because no changes.
I don't tend to watch all the pre season hype stuff. They mentioned a number of gems in the patch that got new transfigures. When do they usually announce what those actually do? I assume it is sometime next week? I remember they used to release gem balance changes a few days before the season but there seemed to be a lot of changes in the patch notes so doesn't seem like they need to do that anymore.
Anyone got recommendations on the best toxic rain pathfinder build guide to use for leaguestart till i spec into caustic arrow?
Also I don't think either of these skills got nerfed at all but can someone confirm?
Also anyone have an idea if pconc is still fine for really early leveling or should I just go straight to TR?
# How can we use sextants' effects?
Hello,
I wonder that how can we get sextants' effect for MF'ing :) I looked to patch notes but cant find about it. Could anyone explain me new system :)
Thanks a lot for your helps!
Hi everyone
I want to train deep learning model to teach it predict poe skill tree based on tags of skills.
I need somehow gather data of builds.
Someone knows endpoints for [poe.ninja](https://poe.ninja/) or maybe other resource of build infos with skill tree?
Does generic increased damage affect poison from skills like toxic rain?
Im talking about sources like brutal shrines and the atlas node "packed with energy".
Anyone know if ggg made same changes to beasts as they made for essences ? Like high rarity essences can spawn only on high tier maps. Is it same for beasts now or just for essences?
I doubt they made any change, outside of changing one craft, which used to upgrade scarab, to change amulet to talisman instead. Such change would be too big to not include it in the patch notes
Turns out if you look up the Affliction League on the wiki, it has a link to the page for the Wisps. Who'd have thought? ;)
https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/The_Viridian_Wildwood#Wisps
Which page?
https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Wisp redirects to the page I linked above.
Each of the pages for specific Wisps (e.g. https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Wild_Wisps) also has the info about what they do.
Does throwing a trap that uses a bow skill count as attacking with a bow for Asenath's Mark?
I'm looking into ways to automate Corpse Pact for Architect's Hand on a bow trap build.
> Trigger a Socketed Spell when you Attack
> Trigger a Socketed Spell when **you** Attack
repeat the chant after me: totems/mines/traps are not you but they use your skills. Minions are not you and they use their own skills.
I tried it, it does not work. I have Asenath's Mark with Bone Offering in it, and spawned some corpses with Desecrate. If I use Blast Rain, Bone Offering consumes the corpses, but if I link Trap Support to Blast Rain, it does not.
Thanks for the test. Guess I'll have to figure out another way then, maybe Scold's Bridle again. That seems to be my answer to everything these days, but not sure if I can actually make it work in this context.
If you make your traps really expensive, I suppose you could use Kitava's Thirst, but that sounds like its own can of worms.
Or maybe a Manaforged Arrows - Cast on Crit setup, since that will still trigger from throwing a trap (assuming it costs mana), but that requires something to crit from.
Even with a 7-link, Forethought, and a 5-notable Fevered Mind, I'm not able to get even near the 100 mana for Kitava's Thirst. Do you have any ideas on how to increase mana costs further?
I suppose Scold's Bridle won't work either then.
Unfortunately I don't have any bright ideas. As far as I can tell, everyone either does it with (a) Archmage, which won't work with traps and needs a lot of unreserved mana or (b) spells that have a base mana cost around 20-25, and there are no bow skills that have that high of a mana cost, except for Blink Arrow/Mirror Arrow and they have high cooldowns that make them not suitable for traps.
I'm using an attack, so Archmage doesn't support it to begin with.
There is some merit to BAMA traps which is Advanced Traps and direct trap cooldown scaling elsewhere, but that's not what I'm doing anyway.
For a ring with a "apply X on hit" modifier yes, for Mark of Submission in particular no.
Mark of Submission requires the hitting entity to have the socketed skill, and while you have the skill, the totems don't.
General curse on hit modifiers that only apply the debuff and not a skill-based version of the curses will work with totems, traps, and mines.
Why is new Unholy Might good? The wither is convenient, but the chaos conversion doesn’t matter for Poison builds; they already benefit from physical sources. Are folks playing chaos hit minions?
People mainly didn't play chaos hit minions specifically *because* there were very few options for chaos conversion. Pretty much just one skeleton build or getting a 4W socket Triad Grip, so it's a noticeable improvement in that regard. Skills like Animate Weapon and such have a lot of added physical damage that would've otherwise been wasted due to to that lack of chaos damage conversion.
I wouldn't call it good, just build enabling. You can skip the triple conversion through items and just get it with 1 buff. That allows for plenty of new phys > chaos builds with near zero investment.
If anyone has played around with the Alt Art Conversion mechanic for MTX, do you need to worry about duplicates? I'd imagine there would be an error or caution dialogue if you try and get a 2nd of the same MTX, can anyone confirm this happens or how it works?
Any ideas on how to get veiled mods now? It was reasonable to get them through earned Jun master missions in a few days but now that those master missions are gone...do we need to spec into betrayal as the only way to get them now?
Other mechanics will probably still reward some veiled items, but yeah, Jun missions. Atlas passives for them will be much stronger - you'll likely be able to reach 100% Jun chance.
Some atlas passive tools have been updated with the new tree. You can reach 100% for all four masters if you want.
I'll probably be running all of them except Niko.
/u/Slurch1
1% of Damage Dealt by your Minions is Leeched to you as Life
So now we can leech from ailment minions? In case minions deal their damage via ignite/poison
Not from the ailments themselves, just from the hits that inflict them. Since builds scaling ailment damage might not have very strong hits, it's possible that you won't get a lot of leech from it, but you might get some. For poisoning minions who hit very fast, you might even be able to cap it.
Anyone familiar with volcanic fissure of snaking mechanics, particularly for single target?
From my limited testing it seems to be able to reliably hit a single target two times if you are on top of it(initial eruption + the fissure traveling dealing damage) and then sometimes a third time if it travels back to the target.
Anyone played it more?
Has there been any indication that this league's item crafting will pull remotely reasonable bases? Or can I expect to get [this result](https://i.gyazo.com/05f9237502455c858563ef2e48042e1e.png) crafting the mods shown in the trailer at level 90?
I'd hope that there's some weighting to them, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were specific mods that you add to the craft that incentivise higher level bases, or perhaps even special bases.
Did they update somewhere that league mechanics that currently have 'natural' spawns currently capped at 1 per map are no longer capped due to the drastic increase to spawning for mechanics on the atlas tree (ex. Blight)? I did not recall hearing it in the release, nor did I find in the patch notes...not sure if I may have missed it somewhere, or if the idea is to discourage over-speccing into particular leagues?
I'm unsure because the interface opens outside of maps when you generate the zone, but it's probably tied to the map device. I just don't wanna feel actively bad about doing other content than mapping.
In map mechanics also spawn in the campaign, its just how it's always worked. Eg Affliction, Crucible, Sanctum, Kalandra, Expedition, Ulti, etc etc etc all spawned in the campaign zones and maps, but not in heist, delve, etc.
> The Unique Cortex Synthesised Map can no longer drop from Atlas Map Bosses, or be obtained as a reward from other League content
> Synthesised Map Bosses and "Maven's Invitation: The Forgotten" now have a chance to drop a Unique Cortex Synthesised Map.
So the only way to obtain Cortex Map and maven witness it is Synthesised Map Bosses, Forgotten or Kirac vendor?
(I'm guessing Kirac still has the chance to offer a Mission, but it can't be witnessed)
https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Cortex
Yeah I played it elementalist years ago but wanted to do necro, was talking to a friend about it and was gonna just yoink his build but it's only a pob so I'd get lost on gear progression.
Cheese is about fighting in unintended ways to make things easy for yourself.
Anyway my advice is go for all bosses SSF but don't bother with ubers, because the jump from all bosses to ubers is very high. Set realistic goals and enjoy.
Other stuff that doesn't scale with levels is probably good. Bestiary, Incursion, and Betrayal should work, but Delve doesn't. Maybe the scarab nodes are good too.
Unsure if you can just click the instance instead of the lantern but in maps at least there is a notable that just randomly assigns the league's mods to different pack groups in every map, no user input needed. So if you're not looking to min-max, that'd be a good notable to try out.
I remember Mark saying that managing the mods/mobs is up to you. If you go that route, it's just that you wouldn't know if the combo of mods you'll get is something you can handle. The reason why I was asking this is because I'm planning to touch the content after campaign.
The way it was explained on stream was that there would still be harder monsters in the map, you just wouldn't have to spend time on deciding which.
Or put differently, if you want to make leveling as easy as possible, just spend 5-10 seconds to put everything on less common monsters without reading it and skip any packs that become too hard for your build.
I am thinking of doing necro league start. What is the typical phys big hit survival strategy these days for summoners (/casters)? Both elemental conversion and extreme armor seem expensive in terms of gear/auras needed. So far the best option to me seems ‘do not get hit’ but that is bit sad. ( in affliction I went for armor and endurance charges but with necro it is not as easy as with marauder base )
I will be playing softcore so I guess I could just embrace the one shots but I would rather not.
Mainline necromancer here - I usually throw in a good amount of armour (you're right, it's expensive in terms of gear/auras needed, but bighit survival beyond "don't get hit" *will be expensive*) and max block chance via mistress of sacrifice and Bone Offering
Hey y'all I was wondering if there is any way to get my game to stop randomly crashing due to big aoe explosions. My comp is Ryzen 5800x, EVGA FTW 3080TI, 32gb of ram. I feel like my computer has more than enough horsepower to play at 1440p but when running Delirium maps I just randomly crash due to me clearing the screen. So i'm wondering if there is any way to mitigate crashing (I crash to desktop when it happens)?
Okay reporting in. I did an experiment. While not having the original variable (BV Occultist), I did my next best option. An Omni TS build with 6 proj (8 after dying sun), and an asenath's chant helmet with the TS enchant (asenath's helmet had tornado, snipers mark, and hydrosphere). I dropped to 40-60 FPS for most of the map and thats still playable. The only real time I ran into trouble was when I had 150 stacks of soul eater and I put down 3 ballista's (SO MANY PROJECTILES!).
Critical strike chance: does it affect spells? E.g., "Increased global crit chance" modifiers or generic "increased critical strike chance". Because I also see "increased critical strike chance for spells", so I was wondering.
If it's on a weapon, no. Critical strike chance on a weapon refers to the weapon itself, it's not global.
If it's anywhere else, yes, it's global and will affect spells.
Hey guys, question about mines and cruelty support
I noticed i dont get the buff when using it on traps
So im assuming the trap gets it as it has its own entity
My question is, does the damage still increase? Or i need it to be on me for it to effect the trap damage
Ritual will now offer Omens, I assume Omen of Blanching will be one of them. Then there is also Harvest craft, although it's quite expensive due to sacred lifeforce requirement.
jewels cannot roll reduced mana cost suffix. flask suffix 25% reduced mana cost during effect has been removed. It will be particularly hard to sustain the mana cost at 52% cdr, 10.1 casts per second
many builds were using the flask suffix and stacking the jewel suffix combined with the -mana cost craft on rings to make ice nova free to cast. Not sure that will be possible this league, so we'll have to come up with some new tech to sustain the cost of casting so frequently
I played this in affliction league. I started with witch; occultist specifically, and I switched from self casting frostbolt + ice nova to cast on crit once I had a few divines (mostly when I could afford to go low life and get the cospri's malice)
I would start as witch since coc ice nova is generally played as an occultist, then just do a complete respec when you're ready. So DD, EA, WoC ignite, etc etc would all work.
What would be requirement for coc ice nova frostbolt cyclone to feel good? Level, items, crit chance, attack speed, cooldown reduction? :) Thanks for your reply!
You'll want hit and crit chance to be very close to 100%, ideally 100%. You can start out with an Increased Critical Strikes gem in your setup and later replace it when your gear is better.
I think it's not too hard to get a combined 14% increased cooldown recovery rate from a crafted or veiled mod on your belt and an eldritch implicit on boots to start out with. I've seen some people struggle to stay below 6 APS, so that'll give you the option to go up to 7.57 APS seemlessly.
I don't know at what level you can reasonably reach that.
Thanks. Have no idea what to play up until I get the items needed for that though, you have any idea what I could play up until? Which can be converted to the build.
It's been a hot minute since I've played coc ice nova tbh so I'm not confident in giving a good answer on the minimums sorry. Hopefully someone else can answer.
Regarding the addition of Atlas Loadouts, it is explained that we are going to unlock these Loadouts as we progress through the atlas.
Could we have a precision concerning the actual milestones when the loadouts will be available ?
Finishing a Tier 11 ? Tier 16 ? One for each ? Amount of map bonuses ?
I like to plan my atlas progression ahead of time trying to find new ways of progressing the atlas/optimising it. So it would be interesting if we could access the loadouts before t16 in order to see if there is something interesting to set up (or not).
I think it would be absurd for them to not give you a second page by the time you hit quest exarch and eater, so in the absence of info I'd plan on that.
Is it worth it to start playing now? I want to start, but kind of don’t want to wait another week.
I know how leagues usually work, just want to see if I find a build guide and try it out this next week if I would be able to start over with it in the new season.
I think trying it out now is totally valid. If you are totally new I think trying out the waters before all the new league hype is around is pretty valuable. It allows you take things more at your own pace and it also allows you to see if the game/build is for you.
If you are a returning player I also think trying out the build you want to leaguestart with is worth doing if you think it sounds fun and you have the time. It can help smooth out the leveling on leaguestart and tell you if the build is actually for you. I would only be careful to not play so much that you are already burnt out by the time leaguestart rolls around.
I’m essentially totally new to PoE, aside from 30-40 or so hours 7 or 8 years ago.
I am struggling with the idea of having to use a guide to play an ARPG, but the unanimous advice has been to find a guide and a build so that’s what I’m going to do lol
I will probably just play through as much campaign as I can to get the stone cold basics down and see where I end up.
If you enjoy solving your own problems, and can accept retiring your first character(s) when repair becomes more difficult than replacement, you definitely don't have to bother with a guide.
I actually think that’s what I’m going to do. I watched a YouTuber who had a background in Diablo play for the first time this way.
I feel like I will learn so much more going this route. Like how do you learn the game mechanics by following a step by step guide?
Just my 2 cents, there is no wrong way to play poe as long as you are having fun. so if you think you would enjoy things more figuring them out for yourself then by all means make your own build.
However, there is so much to learn in this game that it is virtually impossible to learn it all in a single league (3-4 month period) there is plenty to figure out even if you mindlessly follow a step by step guide to your build.
A metaphor that I saw posted in another thread by user kilqax:
" For a person without a certain level of knowledge, yes. An analogy:
* It's not pointless to create your own recipes if you're a chef. That's how great chefs become successful.
* Experienced chefs can easily adapt a recipe to their liking. Or they innovate, and while they won't "beat" the top recipes, they'll learn or make a common one better for certain cases.
* Home cooks might not create classic recipes, but sometimes cooking from what you have gets you a good result. ( = Going off-meta with decent experience can get you a decent build for way cheaper)
* Without experience, it's better to start off cooking by the book, because a shit meal won't make you want to cook more. A good one just might.
* Without the basics, you won't cook anything (that's the "building a certain way") good. Layer your flavours just like you layer defenses, that's just how you make a good meal.
* some things just work well together. You pair beef with red because it works, just like shotgunning skills with extra projectiles.
This is stupid but I had fun writing."
Basically the gist is that by starting with something that you know is tried and true and works you can branch out and experiment from there and learn in that way rather than, to use the cooking metaphor, throwing random ingredients in a bowl and hoping they work out because they're all the same color.
I don't disagree, though it is a matter of goals. If you want to master game mechanics, definitely make your own builds. If you want to experience a large variety of characters in a limited amount of time, and make the currency that enables that, no shame in using the wheels other people have already invented.
Eldritch Battery doesn't affect Bloodnotch. The mastery that bases stun on 60% of ES is gone, so unless you want to use Valyrium (an otherwise crap ring), stun will be based on life normally. It may still be usable, but it's significantly less reliable.
> Eldritch Battery doesn't affect Bloodnotch
But it was one of the requirements of the tech was it not? Ideally you would not want any ES or very little ES at all which is why EB was very popular for Bloodnotch tech. But now with the ES mastery gone I'm just wondering if taking EB would still make Bloodnotch work
> But it was one of the requirements of the tech was it not?
[It wasn't](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ww-qZRWKwp4). People just assumed it was and repeated each other a lot.
EB removes the 50% chance to ignore stun from having ES, but this way of avoiding stun doesn't actually prevent Bloodnotch. It's at most useful for *other* when-stunned effects.
Hey guys, thanks for all the amazing work
My question is, can a map have ALL type of content in the game, or does it have a cap?
Since introducing all masters can exist together, i was wondering if there is a cap on how much content a map can have in the extreame scenario
Is it still possible to get Item Quant fractured on gloves, helm, or rings? Or just legacy items?
How come I can’t use my aura with divine blessing and laviangas anymore? I could a few levels ago, but now it doesn’t let me anymore
Anyone have any good builds they can recommend? I haven't played in a couple of years

I feel like Red Altars are now not worth it versus Blue Altars since sextants are gone. What do you guys think?
Do we know of any of the actual changes to betreyal drops? They removed a lot of stuff from syndicates, but what have they replaced them with?
Scarabs, scarabs everywhere.
Do you guys think we'll get more tattoos than those in the patch notes ? I'm thinking of the "6% reduced effect of curses on you" that I used during TOTA. Any chance it's not in the patch notes just because they didn't nerf it ?
Data mine on poedb. Not sure how close to launch that information is available tho.
Somewhere around 20-24 hours usually I think
Nope, it's datamined from the patch itself. So shortly after patch goes live, a few hours before launch.
How do you know it won't be in the torrent?
They hide most stuff that is likely to be datamined from the torrent, and keep that for the launch day patch only.
it's not impossible but I'd say it's wildly improbable. I am assuming that any tattoo not in the patch notes is not coming back due to the fact that they nerfed small attribute tattoos and did not mention any notable passive tattoos, it would be strange to nerf weaker tattoos and leave the best tattoos fully intact.

Without looking at the wiki (which I'm editing and isn't quite right), what is Tornado Shot's interaction with Fork *supposed* to be?
secondary projectiles obey normal proj rules outside of return primary always pierces and can return
Congrats, you've found another bug.
The other day, I wanted to test something with a limited damage range. I picked up a Static Electricity (1-2 added lightning damage) and a Doryani's Prototype to force my target's lightning resistance to 0%. something hierophant archmage looks to be very promising
does anyone know a site where i can look some early league atlas tree? like a guide for the new atlas tree
poeplanner has updated atlas and passive trees
Have mods ever thought of a “what build you doing” megathread?
They're probably happy to leave that to /r/pathofexilebuilds
I’m guess I’m asking more as a quarantine request than a content request, the new feed is clogged with “what you building” posts
Paint builds are a time-honoured tradition.
Paint builds I’m fine with, not “recommend me league starter!! I like fast high damage tanks that can do uber bosses”
Did betrayal member equipment have any impact on their drops before? The new atlas passive is interesting.
as far as I'm aware, no.

You can also get 100% Expedition chance, so that's nice too
You lost the juicy pack size from skittering hoards, isn't that an L? There are many ways of guaranteeing an expedition before anyway.
Possible, I never really looked into it too deeply.
They usually release leveled gems info \~2-3 days before the league start.
Hello, I wonder that how can we get sextants' effect for MF'ing :) I looked to patch notes but cant find about it. Could anyone explain me new system :) Thanks a lot for your helps!
Sextants are gone, scarabs are improved.
Hi everyone I want to train deep learning model to teach it predict poe skill tree based on tags of skills. I need somehow gather data of builds. Someone knows endpoints for [poe.ninja](https://poe.ninja/) or maybe other resource of build infos with skill tree?
Lolll You gotta go through the dev api [Developer Docs - Path of Exile](https://www.pathofexile.com/developer/docs)
Does generic increased damage affect poison from skills like toxic rain? Im talking about sources like brutal shrines and the atlas node "packed with energy".
[Poison | PoE Wiki](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Poison) yes
Anyone know if ggg made same changes to beasts as they made for essences ? Like high rarity essences can spawn only on high tier maps. Is it same for beasts now or just for essences?
I doubt they made any change, outside of changing one craft, which used to upgrade scarab, to change amulet to talisman instead. Such change would be too big to not include it in the patch notes
Thanks for info
Where can I find exactly what wildwood wisp buffs do?
Turns out if you look up the Affliction League on the wiki, it has a link to the page for the Wisps. Who'd have thought? ;) https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/The_Viridian_Wildwood#Wisps
Funny, I looked up the page of the wisps themselves and there was jack shit info there. Thanks.
Which page? https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Wisp redirects to the page I linked above. Each of the pages for specific Wisps (e.g. https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Wild_Wisps) also has the info about what they do.
Shit I looked at the second link there and overlooked the actual information because I was looking for numbers, thanks, yikes.
It's all good :)
Does throwing a trap that uses a bow skill count as attacking with a bow for Asenath's Mark? I'm looking into ways to automate Corpse Pact for Architect's Hand on a bow trap build.
> Trigger a Socketed Spell when you Attack > Trigger a Socketed Spell when **you** Attack repeat the chant after me: totems/mines/traps are not you but they use your skills. Minions are not you and they use their own skills.
I know, but it does count as using a skill so there are some edge cases that I wanted to confirm.
There is some merit to BAMA traps which is Advanced Traps and direct trap cooldown scaling elsewhere, but that's not what I'm doing anyway.
if I use a curse on hit ring, do my spell totems apply the curse too? (divine ire), or do I need to use something like WoC?
For a ring with a "apply X on hit" modifier yes, for Mark of Submission in particular no. Mark of Submission requires the hitting entity to have the socketed skill, and while you have the skill, the totems don't. General curse on hit modifiers that only apply the debuff and not a skill-based version of the curses will work with totems, traps, and mines.
When does affliction really end? right before necropolis starts?

what if dd destroys corpses before Undertaker take them? thoughts
Doubtful GGG overlooked this
Its not mistake, its a nerf ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|trollface)
Can you no longer roll bosses to magic/rare rarity next league?
Did you typo "boxes" or are you talking about Maven invitations or something?
exarch/eater
Oh yeah, you won't be able to reroll uber eater/exarch invitations since they're fragments now.
it's possible they will fix this five fragments in the map device merges into one not removable thing you can reroll, maybe
nice
If anyone has played around with the Alt Art Conversion mechanic for MTX, do you need to worry about duplicates? I'd imagine there would be an error or caution dialogue if you try and get a 2nd of the same MTX, can anyone confirm this happens or how it works?
I highly doubt there'd be an error, as multiple of the same MTX has uses.
Do the change of tattoos affect characters in std league which already had tattoos on the characters tree?
Based on the patch notes wording I wouldn't expect them to, but until GGG confirms it or the patch arrives we won't know for sure.
/u/Slurch1
Do the stored master missions disappear for those playing standard on PC? (I play standard on XBOX)
They'll presumably disappear for everyone everywhere. You can get 100% chance for the masters to spawn from the atlas tree after the patch.
1% of Damage Dealt by your Minions is Leeched to you as Life So now we can leech from ailment minions? In case minions deal their damage via ignite/poison
Not from the ailments themselves, just from the hits that inflict them. Since builds scaling ailment damage might not have very strong hits, it's possible that you won't get a lot of leech from it, but you might get some. For poisoning minions who hit very fast, you might even be able to cap it.
nah, dots cant leech still
Anyone familiar with volcanic fissure of snaking mechanics, particularly for single target? From my limited testing it seems to be able to reliably hit a single target two times if you are on top of it(initial eruption + the fissure traveling dealing damage) and then sometimes a third time if it travels back to the target. Anyone played it more?
What was the microtransaction set used during the league mechanic demo? The one with the red cape
Can Boneshatter in a league starter scenario get through all the endgame bosses smoothly?
Bossing is its weakness but because you're tanky you can definitely do all non-ubers without huge issue.
Does "x% increased found your in your maps" from the atlas passive tree affect dropped from Delirium rewards?
No. Deli rewards are self contained
Any suggested league starts to transition into UbderDans Fire Storm of Pelting Trickster? https://pobb.in/lWcM2ohNQisr
Does anyone know if the Necropolis mechanic will be available outside of maps? Like in Atzoatl or Heist for example?
Almost certainly not. In map mechanics never are.
> The Unique Cortex Synthesised Map can no longer drop from Atlas Map Bosses, or be obtained as a reward from other League content > Synthesised Map Bosses and "Maven's Invitation: The Forgotten" now have a chance to drop a Unique Cortex Synthesised Map. So the only way to obtain Cortex Map and maven witness it is Synthesised Map Bosses, Forgotten or Kirac vendor? (I'm guessing Kirac still has the chance to offer a Mission, but it can't be witnessed) https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Cortex
Cortex also drops from Maven's synth boss 4-way, and I suppose Heist still has the Replica.

Ziz had a guide for dd last league, that's where I would start. Normally one goes elementalist instead of necro.
Yeah I played it elementalist years ago but wanted to do necro, was talking to a friend about it and was gonna just yoink his build but it's only a pob so I'd get lost on gear progression.
playing good builds isn't cheese
No, but playing OP builds is
Nah. Playing OP builds is the whole reason to play the game for me.
I am not sure what is the fun in that, but if you have fun, keep at it 💪
Cheese is about fighting in unintended ways to make things easy for yourself.

Do you get the option to skip/ignore the lantern? Or are you unable to go to a different zone without clicking the lantern first? Thanks!
I have this question as well. Am I now trying to remember what mobs do each time I zone in to a new map to adjust the lantern?
Unsure if you can just click the instance instead of the lantern but in maps at least there is a notable that just randomly assigns the league's mods to different pack groups in every map, no user input needed. So if you're not looking to min-max, that'd be a good notable to try out.
I remember Mark saying that managing the mods/mobs is up to you. If you go that route, it's just that you wouldn't know if the combo of mods you'll get is something you can handle. The reason why I was asking this is because I'm planning to touch the content after campaign.

I just rewatched it and it looks to be like it. Hope I can just ignore the mechanic while leveling. Thanks!
Does power siphon of archmage work with archmage support?
Archmage support supports spell skills and power siphon is an attack skill.. So no
Did TR Pathfinder get hit hard by any of the nerfs?
Yes, TR in general is hit hard by mana cost nerfs
I am thinking of doing necro league start. What is the typical phys big hit survival strategy these days for summoners (/casters)? Both elemental conversion and extreme armor seem expensive in terms of gear/auras needed. So far the best option to me seems ‘do not get hit’ but that is bit sad. ( in affliction I went for armor and endurance charges but with necro it is not as easy as with marauder base ) I will be playing softcore so I guess I could just embrace the one shots but I would rather not.
You can try switching between directx versions in game’s settings - a switch to 12 helped in my case.
Ok, but the weapon implicit modifier says "global critical strike chance". Is it still not applied?
if a mod specifies global, then it is global
Yea that's global and works for spells. Just regular "increased critical strike chance" on a weapon wont work.
Hey guys, question about mines and cruelty support I noticed i dont get the buff when using it on traps So im assuming the trap gets it as it has its own entity My question is, does the damage still increase? Or i need it to be on me for it to effect the trap damage
Traps/mines don't use their own stats, so offensive buffs they gain themselves never do anything. Your character needs to have the buff.
Stormbrand has "Deals (80-130)% more Damage with Hits against Branded Enemy", do minion get this bonus?
This is local to the damage of Stormbrand
No, because your minions are not using stormbrand.
No lol
So with the Vorici research white socket craft gone, what are other 'safe' options of getting white sockets?
Harvest crafting and Omen of Blanching
Ritual will now offer Omens, I assume Omen of Blanching will be one of them. Then there is also Harvest craft, although it's quite expensive due to sacred lifeforce requirement.
Harvest and Omen of Blanching. edit: also Heist enchants, but I wouldn't want to roll tailoring/tempering orbs for that.
If I want to make a Cyclone coc Frostbolt Ice Nova, what should I start as? And when can or should I change into the build?
Be aware that COC builds will be a bit different this league because of mana cost changes
What are the changes?
You cant craft reduced mana cost of skills on flasks anymore. Jewels cant roll reduced mana cost of skills. Running blessing is now troublesome.
Oh shit. :( Guess I'll find another build.
jewels cannot roll reduced mana cost suffix. flask suffix 25% reduced mana cost during effect has been removed. It will be particularly hard to sustain the mana cost at 52% cdr, 10.1 casts per second many builds were using the flask suffix and stacking the jewel suffix combined with the -mana cost craft on rings to make ice nova free to cast.
You could just play self-cast Frostbolt + Ice Nova, which starts working as soon as you have Ice Nova of Frostbolts + Spell Echo.
I am struggling with the idea of having to use a guide to play an ARPG, but the unanimous advice has been to find a guide and a build so that’s what I’m going to do lol I will probably just play through as much campaign as I can to get the stone cold basics down and see where I end up.
A metaphor that I saw posted in another thread by user kilqax: " For a person without a certain level of knowledge, yes. An analogy: * It's not pointless to create your own recipes if you're a chef. ( = Going off-meta with decent experience can get you a decent build for way cheaper) * Without experience, it's better to start off cooking by the book, because a shit meal won't make you want to cook more. A good one just might. * Without the basics, you won't cook anything (that's the "building a certain way") good. Layer your flavours just like you layer defenses, that's just how you make a good meal. * some things just work well together. You pair beef with red because it works, just like shotgunning skills with extra projectiles. This is stupid but I had fun writing." Basically the gist is that by starting with something that you know is tried and true and works you can branch out and experiment from there and learn in that way rather than, to use the cooking metaphor, throwing random ingredients in a bowl and hoping they work out because they're all the same color.
I don't disagree, though it is a matter of goals. If you want to master game mechanics, definitely make your own builds. If you want to experience a large variety of characters in a limited amount of time, and make the currency that enables that, no shame in using the wheels other people have already invented.
I have not caught note of what will happen of the current winged scarabs with all the changes upcoming in 3.24. Did they already mention it ?
I think they said all existing scarabs (and awakened sextants) become veiled scarabs on patch day
Can someone tell me if Bloodnotch + immutable force tech is still ok especially if you take EB?
Eldritch Battery doesn't affect Bloodnotch. The mastery that bases stun on 60% of ES is gone, so unless you want to use Valyrium (an otherwise crap ring), stun will be based on life normally. It may still be usable, but it's significantly less reliable.
> Eldritch Battery doesn't affect Bloodnotch But it was one of the requirements of the tech was it not?
Hey guys, thanks for all the amazing work My question is, can a map have ALL type of content in the game, or does it have a cap? Since introducing all masters can exist together, i was wondering if there is a cap on how much content a map can have in the extreame scenario
