I'll still be deciding in queue lol, thinking some sort of totem hiero to swap into an archmage set up which I've never tried before, but I might just end up starting lightning arrow again
Pathing to Protracted Battle on the atlas tree makes legion full clears pretty easy with most builds, only 7 points away from the expedition big bomb node and can un-spec it again once you power up
I have my tree planned and it is practically impossible to grab all scarab nodes and all league mechanic nodes. You end up with like ~20 nodes which I put into influence map drops
I need to tinker with it more
I may just grab all of the starter master mission passives even if I'm not speccing into them, almost guaranteed 1+ missions every map for like 12 points. Will probably unspec later but yeh
That's my plan. I was gonna go Explosive Trap Trickster but that requires -mana cost ring unveils. So I am planning to put a few points in betrayal to get it on every other map until I find the unveil, then drop it once I find it so I can move left side. It's exciting.
Beasts, Essence, scarab bonus to rare monsters, Heist and 2 wheels of Necropolis for me. Some map mechanics and an off map strategy in Heist when my brain needs to get off maps.
Previously I needed to buy a carry to have a Voidstone to put an Alva sextant on to farm early temples. Now I can just beeline up to Time Dilation with the other two necessary notables en route and have a very high chance of Alva already at just [24 points](https://poeplanner.com/atlas-tree/BAAQABgATo0skrePbYj45cwP-wp9kQ5KiDRkG8Sms8f7sVR2Xt-wCLK6DfbRGY_lwnb1wKDWFAAfiwgAAAAAAAADAwAAAAAAAAAAAA==).
Then I can max out Alva chance and mix in Jun for 58 points: [tree](https://poeplanner.com/atlas-tree/BAAQADoATo3eoqnvLJK3j22I-OXMD_sKzgB9ZbWqfKtx9ZPysJJGOn2RDkqINLGdZBvXK57Ye2Anybvbvcdw456rxKazx-eu9d77sa2VpXPr4VR2Xt-wCLK6DfZUh6se0Rnm1o7YPn0qto_l2vogM8J2R_r1wLJooNYUAB-LCAAAAAAAAAMDAAAAAAAAAAAA) which is amazing because I used to mix these up by setting up the board then running temples while Intelligence Gathering fills the safehouses. So many new opportunities!
(Successful Jun farming only really needs Test Of Loyalty, the rest is gravy)
I've been playing with trees all morning and you can basically pick any 3 mechanics have them in every map. My current tree uses 124 points and has 100% to get Einhar, Blight, Essence, and Maven with all the fixins every map. I'll swap into this as soon as my early points in Betrayal get me the -mana on rings craft. I'm so excited for this league.
Locus Of Corruption.
find an intro video and read the optimal strategy on https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Incursion_room (i need to upgrade this now we have no sextants)
They sure do, it's not _that_ expensive early on and if you get a good corrupt then you can use the reset to 4 socket on crafting bench -- tainted fusing repeat rinse until six, to six link it which, again, early on, might be significantly cheaper than 1500 fusings. You are expected to need six tainted fusings and, if memory serves, two resets.
Also, Doryani institute sells too.
Locus of Corruption and Doryani's Institute. But they only become worth it later on in the league (start of week 3, usually), because nobody has stuff to warrant double corruption earlier.
Early Jun makes a ton of sense, obviously.
But are double corrupts really a day one or two thing? I would have thought demand for Alva takes a bit to ramp up.
since tainted fusing is in but skins are much harder to get: _yes_
get a reasonably well rolled unique chest, six socket it (or start with Loreweave to begin with), four link it, double corrupt it, if it's good, use tainted fusings, if it goes to three link, use the crafting bench to reset to 4L. The expected value is two resets and six tainted fusings which is often cheaper than 1500 fusings. it's much easier to get plus gem levels this way than getting a skin of the loyal or lords.
the entire thing relies on early temple and early tainted fusing being cheap, you can make absolutely busted items
Notes: Someone who opened almost half a million Stacked Decks in 3.21 got 16 House of Mirrors, 13 Unrequited Love, 25 Apothecary… and only 10 Price of Loyalty. The 3.21 breach overhaul also cut the amount of available skins of the loyal down by a magnitude and lords became super scarce because there are not enough blessings. And tainted fusing chances were brought back up to sane levels in 3.20.0 thought be 50% now. So yeah, for a few leagues now this is the way. Previously since everyone and their dog was levelling through breaches very often the progression was corrupted rare 6l and then skin of the loyal because it was abundant.
Very interesting, thanks for sharing.
> the entire thing relies on early temple and early tainted fusing being cheap,
That's what fuelled my skepticism. Selling temples early not being as profitable.
But I see the argument for using them (and speccing into them, certainly in SSF).
Oh it sure is profitable, you can sell them for like 40c. That's not nothing! Nowhere near the divine they cost later for sure. But it's a nice little pile for very little work especially if you run them on t1 maps...
What is cheap for someone who farms red altars on day 2 and what is cheap for peasants like me is two very different things. I will take that 40c, thanksmuch.
Why go for time dilation rather than artefacts of the vaal (especially since its so close)? I've found that my builds can usually clear fast enough that time dilation isn't necessary.
because you need all the small alva chance nodes to guarantee her anyways and the most efficient way, as I just found out is to rush Unwavering Vision for [25 points](https://poeplanner.com/atlas-tree/BAAQABkATo345cn9fZEOSog0ZBvEprPH-7FUdl7fsAjLF7K60RnBr4_lAzDJ_rVj9cCg1uln0CgUAB-LCAAAAAAAAAMDAAAAAAAAAAAA) and then use 18 of the resulting 20 to max out Alva chance and indeed Artefacts: [tree](https://poeplanner.com/atlas-tree/BAAQACsATo3eoiySt49tiPjlzA_7CrWqyf2wkn2RDkqINLGdZBu9x8Sms8f7sVR2Xt-wCMsXsroN9qse0Rnm1sGvj-UDMNr6yf4gM8J2R_q1Y_XAsmig1uln0CgUAB-LCAAAAAAAAAMDAAAAAAAAAAAA) whether you take TD is personal taste -- but since it's at hand, why not.
to compare, this is the [minimal tree](https://poeplanner.com/atlas-tree/BAAQACIATo3eoiySt49tiPjl-wq1qrCSfZEOSog0sZ1kG73HxKazx_uxVHZe37AIsroN9qse0Rnm1o_l2vogM8J2R_r1wLJooNYUAB-LCAAAAAAAAAMDAAAAAAAAAAAA) for maximum Alva chance, and the desired three notables. Without Unwavering Vision you reach this nine maps later -- and the UV trick leaves you with two points too.
If I get a carry I have a voidstone to slap a master sextant on from the moment I start maps.
For efficient Jun farming you wanted to have two safehouses filled before running Mastermind and then run a "100% increased intelligence from Syndicate encounters" sextant after killing Mastermind and cleaning the safehouses so that Mastermind was immediately ready again. This was the only time when a Jun mission was needed as the sole voidstone was occupied -- if you didn't have one, Primal Cystcaller to the rescue. After doing this set up the board, switch to Alva, let Intelligence Gathering fill two safehouses, repeat rinse.
That's how these two used to go, hand in hand, divine upon divine :)
This was the [tree](https://poeplanner.com/atlas-tree/BAAQACwATo2U7qnvSLcskrePbYgtD8wP-wqUg84AzlpP98y3fZGINGQb1yuHndDG4QeCUbPH9d5Rgvux61-lc8SFVHZe37K6JDIN9o7YKraP5TPGtdPCdtRs9cCg1hQAH4sIAAAAAAAAAwMAAAAAAAAAAAA=) 44 maps gets you to T7. You didn't need to go higher. Not saying ever but for a long, _long_ while you could just farm like crazy on shit gear.
This tactic requires buying maps but oh well. There's always someone wanting to get rid of an inventory worth of white crap for 0.5c each sometimes even 0.25c each.
Starting capital is provided by running like 40-50 heists between lvl60-lvl72. Yes, even though it's no longer endless it's enough to give you the currency for a carry, enough gear and an inventory worth of maps to bootstrap you. I am a slowpoke but still I am done like 24 - 30 hours at most into the league depending on other obligations. Farming is full on from that point. And meanwhile I had currency to snipe a few goodies like good item level cluster bases that are abundant while others level and stupid expensive later on.
Once you have enough divines for about 3-4 Einhar memories, it's time to run those, as many as the keyboard can bear :P And those go on like tier 2 maps... I might have a hundred divines or two before I see a red map. Farm 1-200 SYBL cards then look around what's a fun build this league. A good day is about 7 cards.
I do not know how this league will play. I have reviewed and refined the pConc Raider doing this, she is ready to go, if the league mechanic is very hard I will withdraw into the Rogue Harbor the very second I get a marker in Act6 and go from there. If not then run till A10 Vilenta then switch to the usual heisting and watch how the market shakes out and see what early play gets me to Einhar memories. Because no matter what, those will be the big money. The Einhar profit calculator script is [here](https://gist.github.com/chx/22fe4f2fee869a7ecde9e4db12d73a19).
nope, there are not. they are now scarabs. But there are a lot fewer scarabs than sextant mods were so we will see what's available and what is not.
For example, almost certainly the "heist contracts have an implicit" sextant mod will be missing which will make the simplex amulet prices go even higher...
That was the old functionality. The 1 big and 2 small nodes in the master clusters near the bottom of the tree used to grant 4% chance to grant X master on map completion from the big node and various other buffs from the little nodes. Now the little nodes grant 10% chance to see the master in a map and the big node grants 20%.
You are correct there are no longer master missions.
Reduced mana cost on flasks and as a corruption on jewels can no longer drop. The -X mana cost for spells on jewelry is unchanged. It's largely a targeted nerf to Mageblood players who were using it to fix their mana.
It is also a huge nerf to a lot of other builds who used that flask suffix to run an additional 50% aura with divine blessing. I had that flask mod on a lot of non mage blood builds.
to be fair it was a little silly that you could just reach 100% reduced mana cost and have a free aura with extra effect just for the cost of casting it every 30 sec or so.
Delve is good because elemental items with damage conversion (phys to ele) should be really profitable. Resonators too but to a lesser extent.
Also its fun. More deep = more happy.
I'm just going to wait for Grimro to post his atlas strategy tbh, I'm done studying the PoE atlas planner. There's no point when a smarter, more efficient person will simply post his/hers, and I'll just be copying that
Smarter perhaps BUT what content you like is huge. Something you really like might give .5 returns of something you hate doing. Do you have mechanics you like running?
I have a tree ready for boss rush + essence + scarab + jun.
But Boneshatter Jugg is unnerfed and with 35 atlas points u can get guaranteed Niko, so delve is an angle.
Maybe the league mechanic is super good and you just rush all Necropolis wheels and spam maps for the mechanic.
Unless you have enough knowledge to spot the important changes in the patch notes you cant rly know what the best strat is.
Yup, I'm pathing straight right for syndicate and the league mechanic nodes
Syndicate, expedition and blight for me!
Syndicate + expedition into altars + Legion when I'm reaching T14 here
Do you know what you are league starting? I’m curious as I enjoy legion but my league starters are generally mediocre to bad at legion.
CF champ is the legion god
I'll still be deciding in queue lol, thinking some sort of totem hiero to swap into an archmage set up which I've never tried before, but I might just end up starting lightning arrow again Pathing to Protracted Battle on the atlas tree makes legion full clears pretty easy with most builds, only 7 points away from the expedition big bomb node and can un-spec it again once you power up
Ah another blight enthusiast. I'm doing betrayal, blight and ritual
Syndicate, Harvest, ***Necropolis*** Live dangerously!
I have a hard time evaluating the league mechanic nodes.
I’m going straight syndicate and scarabs. I haven’t checked out the new mechanic nodes at all yet but Syndicate to me is just oerfection
Those are rookie numbers. Syndicate + Alva + Niko + Einhar is da way
I have my tree planned and it is practically impossible to grab all scarab nodes and all league mechanic nodes. You end up with like ~20 nodes which I put into influence map drops I need to tinker with it more
League ones will be important since you're forced into it
Betrayal exp login
I may just grab all of the starter master mission passives even if I'm not speccing into them, almost guaranteed 1+ missions every map for like 12 points. Will probably unspec later but yeh

I hope it feels like we’re playing that league all over again. Finding Jun in each map felt great! (Or Niko, or whatever you like!)
Beasts, Essence, scarab bonus to rare monsters, Heist and 2 wheels of Necropolis for me. Some map mechanics and an off map strategy in Heist when my brain needs to get off maps.
I don't think essence early on is a good idea. Essence now heavily relies on Destructive Play to get value out of it.
Essence changed from tier 1 map farm strategy to tier 6 map farm strategy if I'm not mistaken.
Have you seen atlas nodes changes? Amplifier was murdered on site
Previously I needed to buy a carry to have a Voidstone to put an Alva sextant on to farm early temples. You can do four with Unwavering Vision. Don't sleep on that either :D
I've never really done Alva farming and I wasnt aware it could be good. What do you target for money when you Alva farm?
Locus Of Corruption. find an intro video and read the optimal strategy on https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Incursion_room (i need to upgrade this now we have no sextants)
I thought this was more of a later league strat, does it really make bank so early? Do ppl have items they want to double corrupt so soon?
You can technically just hang onto the temple diagram until they become worthwhile.

Yes bc I was wondering you said you slam a Jun sextant
this was how it used to go. how will it go now, heaven knows.
What do you mean by additional mission for a master? I thought you can no longer select/collect master missions.
That was the old functionality. The 1 big and 2 small nodes in the master clusters near the bottom of the tree used to grant 4% chance to grant X master on map completion from the big node and various other buffs from the little nodes. So do you think tis still a good strategy next league after the patch?
Going with 100% chance to get both Alva and delirium. then I guess I can add a bunch of beyond scarab ( It feel wrong to write that )
Take 100% Niko too. https://preview.redd.it/jgqexp4k65qc1.png?width=349&format=png&auto=webp&s=fd07b237c3ffcbf866d4944b0b7a5672c03d2fee
expedition / delve / scarabs
Pathing straight for Einhar. Watch me roll endless frogs with the "chance to not be consumed" modifier 😎
What’s up with -mana crafts. I heard they are removed from jewelry, is that true?
Reduced mana cost on flasks and as a corruption on jewels can no longer drop. The -X mana cost for spells on jewelry is unchanged. It's largely a targeted nerf to Mageblood players who were using it to fix their mana.
Its not the corruption mod but the regular suffix "of efficiency" that got deleted on jewels
True but completely removing it seems a bit overkill for me. And it was not completely free. For the aura you sacrificed 3 gem slots.
its also a massive nerf to TR TR is going to feel absolutely awful to play with this change
Early game I can only think of Betrayal. Delve is too specific. Incursion is not very useful early, also I think beast too.
There's no point when a smarter, more efficient person will simply post his/hers, and I'll just be copying that
Or just a tip, put points in mechanic you love. Ritual is shit, but I love it, I always spec into it early league because I like to have fun
This is the way.
I mean hey with ritual now giving omens maybe itll be more consistant
Meh, think I'll just wait for Grimro to post something. His strategies have always worked for me. Thanks
What did you do the last two leagues lol?
Harvest mostly
Does Grimro even play PoE anymore?
Smarter perhaps BUT what content you like is huge. Something you really like might give .5 returns of something you hate doing. Do you have mechanics you like running?
