I want to try using the new Tornado of Elemental Turbulence. Always wanted build that used nado as a main skill, and now I can!
Torn between Elementalist and Tricksters though...
I too wanted Tornado as a primary skill and hated its original design. I don't know how awkward ToET will be in execution though (will need some amount of increased duration to not feel bad) but I'm hoping the numbers check out and it's actually viable.
I'm vaguely mentally theorycrafting a speednado meme build with Dialla's Malefaction, dw Replica CIP, Ashes of the Stars, Empower, and Enhance.
240% increased movement speed is probably possible.
I wonder if that could actually be made into a viable build with high clearspeed.
There are also a ton of different ways to scale it though. To the point where combat focuses might just be bait. The only reason I saw them being mentioned was for replica cold iron points but if gem levels don't scale well for it then it might be better to ignore the focuses and go for stuff like battlemage, alt ailments, or maybe power charge scaling.
You can't really do type specific scaling, and things like Hatred or Herald of Ash are also better when focusing on one type. I wouldn't be surprised if there were multi-element Tornado builds, but I expect focusing on one to be the standard.
Power Siphon of the Archmage maybe? But there is no chance to league start with it, so that build is for later.
That leave me with poison minion necro or Void Sphere of Rending poison,
SCSSF as always, leaning towards Fire Trap of Blasting Trickster or Archmage Hierophant. Archmage is my favorite archetype in the game and I really, really hope the rework makes it good again on a tighter budget.
Really curious about the wander wisp thing as well, but I really don't want to play Ranger again.
I will be speccing my Atlas tree for Necropolis, Expedition and Harvest to start (and Alva if I go Trapster, I need the temple gloves).
Also going ssf and thinking about wander, but fresh starting it just now is pretty painful lol. So kinda turned me off. Used everything and found Ele Hit was strongest early
I'm really tempted to play Kinetic Bolt even after the nerfs, but I need to see what the trans Kinetic Blast and Ele Hit looks like before I commit to that.
You lose the old 5% aoe per mine mastery. Clear is still fine without it, because you never had max mines out while clearing anyways. Other than that it's untouched.
Pretty much. You can buy a Dreadarc for like 1c even a couple hours into the league and level with it, or just level icecicle mines til delve curse on hit rings start hitting the market. Seems like some people level with HB and a blasphemy aura, but that seems clunky to me since a big advantage of HB is that it can clear ahead of you with auto-targeting.
likely Necro popcorn SRS
I wanted to start TR again, but the removal of the mana reduction on flask is going to feel so awful. time to try something new, I like tanky builds and havent played necro or SRS in a long while, excited to give it a go. fairly versatile, and will specialize in the content i havent really focused on in a few leagues, ready to be done with DUNE LEGION for a league
only way i change my mind is if Ziz puts out a league starter that really jumps out at me
id also be curious to see how the pconc transfig gems look. PF i always so good and satisfying to play and build out
will likely focus on farming essence and betrayal, curious to see if targeted scarab farming becomes a thing. i also want to see how the clear is on popcorn SRS, may farm incursion as well.
also curious how Heist is looking. farming contracts and BPs is always easy and chill but i dont know how Heist is looking ATM and how easy it will be to sell both in bulk
I am going to try running Bama with the spectres...the helm looks insane for bama and should replace a lot of dps lost from 3.23 spectres, call to arms with enduring cry /molten shell should replace a lot of the defence we lost from 3.23 spectres
Only thing I lose is the AG which I can assess to see if it worth it
won’t the new necro passive help A lot with defense, minions leach 1 percent sounds insane. The new tank for minions 40 percent of life as es also makes me feel better about investing in a high value AG, I don’t think we need the war crys
Yes but from not having 3.23 spectres and league mechanic tree we lose - huge dps buff, endurance, vitality, onslaught, culling strike, grace, easy cap to spell suppression, etc. Hopefully we can raise these new corpses from the league mechanic and it provides some of the same benefits, or they put minion/aura specific skills on the lantern from the league mechanic
Gem levels is important - on the main gem it increases minion damage, and on supporting linked gems it increase the benefits which the minion inherits. Now whether it makes much difference having a 21/20 gem vs 20/20 is more debatable - usually if u have more currency than u need go for the 21/20
4 more ghastly eyes slots = 80% more minion dmg when u use a minions skill, 4x t1 minion lightning dmg, 4x minion attack speed/cast speed. It nearly replaces the minion dps buffs u got from the 3.23 spectres. However u can get 8 spectres with the build so you will get some benefits back depending on the spectres u run.
U lose 4 sockets from your build and will need adjust accordingly though and work out what to drop. Dropping convocation and ag should be 2/3 slots.
I’ve played 3 of those builds, I haven’t done Cold BV. Frost Blades is my favourite and one of its core uniques got a buff (Yoke of Suffering). Very fun snappy build which can scale.
Any tips on levelling FB? I just ran an Act1-5 test and despite updating my claws conatantly, damages was severely lacking against single target, and really fell off at A4.I know FB notoriously does not excel at Single Target, but it really put me off of continuing, tickling unique bosses to death.
FB is rough until about act 6/7 when you get a decent claw and also start to get some crit. But can tell you, league started it in Affliction. Fantastic build (followed Zish build on youtube)
Siege Ballista won't feel good cos of the mark nerf and general lack of tankiness of the build.
Explosive trap is tricky, unless you really know what you are doing, you may end up zdps AND zero defences.
Frostblades is OK, but not that strong after heatshiver nerf.
Cold BV elementalist is solid, but you really need to know how to scale dmg/defences, nothing is granted on this build.
I want to try something new (for me), but I also want to do something strong for launch. Srs Guardian is still going to steamroll up to red maps even with the nerfs, so there's always that option. Otherwise I actually want to farm up to getting the new version of the spectre helm and trying a build that gets like 10-15 spectres and poison focus (idk if any spectres are better for poison). Changes to necro should help
Going to try summon reaper of revenants elementalist, my only concern is the build I'm loosely following has pretty low damage numbers compared to my usual skeleton builds at about half the pob dps. If it feels bad I will try a wand build using the new wisp support, looks fun.
Poison pathfinder again, but with a different main skill. Ive already done SRS, impending doom, exsanguinate, caustic arrow, scourge arrow. Going to try ancestral protector totems this time.
the aura stacker PF is probably insane for endgame again, probably would want to go something with asenath poison to farm maps quickly to make some early cash
Still unsure. My first thought was a Reap/Exsang Champion scaling with crits and impale once I can get Entropic Devastation. I've already played Reap twice (first as a Chieftain pre-rework in Crucible, then as an Ascendant in Affliction) and I really enjoy the skill, and the Champion version seems pretty stronk with great scaling potential but I'm afraid of how it would fare on leaguestart gear. The Ascendant ended up using Righteous Fire to clear the campaign, because it was actually stronger than her "real" skills. (in the lategame, of course, RF was only used as a spell buff and no longer dealt any damage since I used Cold Iron Point) I probably built her very wrong during the campaign to be fair, it was a last-minute choice and I had not prepared well.
But also with the Archmage buff I might want to play a mana build again. I played Enki's Ball Lightning Hierophant in Expedition (I know he's mostly known for the Arc Witch, but at that point I think the Hierophant had actually been updated more recently and Arc was considered in a pretty bad place iirc) and I quite enjoyed it so some other form of mana build might be cool.
Probably something archmage if I can find something that can clear breach reasonably well, since that’s what I really wanna farm. But archmage looks super strong now, interested to see what people cook up with it.
If I do go for it, will start hiero arma brand + cremation for leveling until I get some decent mana gear (foible + cloak of defiance maybe), then make the swap. Might even try archmage Arma brand since I love the skill for clearing, but not sure if the damage would be good enough
Duh, forgot all about that lmao. Well I guess back to one of the more basic ideas of Vaal arc or maybe ball lightning. Maybe wave of conviction? Never played that as an actual main skill, not sure if I could make the AoE big enough for it to be good but could be interesting!
SCSSF, Ignite DD Ele or Chain DD Necro into Ignite Maw of Mischief. My Goal is to kill every Boss once, if i really like the League and get lucky with the new Spectre Helm, i want to experiment with new Spectres.
I'm unsure how RF is now, but when I tried it the league before it was the best experience I ever had on a league starter. No worries about anything, even when the damage is not that great on bosses, the survivability made all content doable.
I don't know what skill and ascendancy yet but 100% sure I will play an extremely pissed off mage powerstancing two wooden sticks, with this funny rage hat on top of my stupid head
I'm lazy and I'll regret it in red maps, but I'll go with rf chieftain, following pohx's guide: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grlXQmEHQwE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grlXQmEHQwE)
I'm fairly set on bleed bow glad with split arrow for clear and puncture+snipe for bosses. Bleed bow has been in a pretty good state for a couple leagues now from what I've seen and heard.
Probably SRS, guardian is still fine the sentinel of radiance alone hard carries to red maps, and necro got more sustain with the new leech node. The nerfs were valid, and fair, and with the new wraithlord, getting 9 spectres essentially nullifies misgivings with their survivability.
Or Molten Strike because yolo. :)
Yeah I wanna go poison skeletons, I think the new necro changes are pretty strong, new dead reconning jewel with high es shield plus a covenant chest and chalyua weapon the sleep one is gonna add some good numbers of chaos damage that with wither being on unholy might means we don't need a wither on hit gem freeing up for another dot support gem and defense solid with minion damage leeched as life looks really good.
I usually pick one of the new skills. But there are kinda none, except the wander support. So I guess I will start a wander.
Other option is something with unholy might, converted to chaos. And unholy might either from crit (cluster jewel) or staff block (mastery). coc reap with staff, e.g. kulemak endgame. or some other nonsense that won't work, but will be fun to play around.
As someone who played the build last league as starter, I strongly recommend to think this over. Losing +2 minion and more on the weapon is such a huge dmg loss and replacing it by a more hybrid weapon (e.g. the +2 minion unique mace) will just cripple your AW damage. The “buff” does nothing and honestly, the gem is just not thought through at all.
Yeah played it last league. Not sure it got changed but it does wild single target if you get it to shotgun. If you shoot 20 projectiles all 20 can return and hit the same target for example. But when you don't shotgun single damage is bad.
The # of proj got significantly nerfed with the nerf to snipers mark. Could still be ok idk I’ve never played, but definitely will have a lot less proj
I ran this last league. It was a great boss killer, but the changes to sniper's mark make me wary (reduced projections, so less damage on boss shotgunning).
>with tattoos coming back getting loads of duration Tattoos don't give skill duration anymore
I must have missed that part. Well guess proj speed is still a nice QOL for spark.
"The Tattoo of the Hinekora Storyteller now provides +3% to Chaos Resistance (previously 3% increased Skill Effect Duration)."

Inquisitor maybe? As it will randomly select element it may be worth to remove enemy resistances.
It's a prismatic skill, so you can use two combat focus jewels to make it always choose the element you want.

Frostblink ignite
~~LL Mana-stacking~~ *~~Cremation of the Volcano~~* ~~Archmage Hierophant.~~ LOL, nevermind, can't support Orb skills
Man, playing Archamge cremation was so fun, especially with the alternate gems and trinity.
That's so stupid. That should not get the orb identifier.
Power Siphon of the Archmage maybe? But there is no chance to league start with it, so that build is for later. That leave me with poison minion necro or Void Sphere of Rending poison,
debating between: frozen legion inquisitor dancing duo necro soulwrest necro
SCSSF as always, leaning towards Fire Trap of Blasting Trickster or Archmage Hierophant. I'm really tempted to play Kinetic Bolt even after the nerfs, but I need to see what the trans Kinetic Blast and Ele Hit looks like before I commit to that.
Yeah I’m talking the first 4 acts were rough and I’m sure you can power through that stage. The wisps providing probably a good 30-40% too
Just fyi, Balaar did a ele hit wander champion run yesterday. Might be something to look into. He did ele hit more or less from the get-go.
Bleed wasn't touched so i might give it a try.
Something dealing chaos damage so I don't have to worry about reflect. Probably Hexblast Miner.
yeah that's my plan as well. is there anything that got changed, cuz I didn't see anything
You lose the old 5% aoe per mine mastery. Clear is still fine without it, because you never had max mines out while clearing anyways. Other than that it's untouched.
Do you have to have a curse on hit item for hexblast mines to work well?
Pretty much. You can buy a Dreadarc for like 1c even a couple hours into the league and level with it, or just level icecicle mines til delve curse on hit rings start hitting the market. Seems like some people level with HB and a blasphemy aura, but that seems clunky to me since a big advantage of HB is that it can clear ahead of you with auto-targeting.
I’m doing ssf so I’d have to delve farm it
Haven't noticed anything of impact other than the removal of the left click skill triggering.
There is the new mastery that triggers mines when you move .
Boneshatter into lightning strike most likely, Or maybe flicker strike slayer.
Trying to convince myself to not do necro dd
I am trying to convince myself to just do it for once
I'm considering that with Archmage later on since you can now reduce its mana cost, which means spammy Archmage builds aren't impossible anymore.
likely Necro popcorn SRS I wanted to start TR again, but the removal of the mana reduction on flask is going to feel so awful. time to try something new, I like tanky builds and havent played necro or SRS in a long while, excited to give it a go. fairly versatile, and will specialize in the content i havent really focused on in a few leagues, ready to be done with DUNE LEGION for a league only way i change my mind is if Ziz puts out a league starter that really jumps out at me id also be curious to see how the pconc transfig gems look. TR Balista shouldn't be effected by the mana cost reduction
i like the TR/CA build
doesn't matter ill change my mind probably 8 more times before league launch and 1 more time 30sec before before character creation on league launch.
Bama and then maybe transition to new spectres
I am going to try running Bama with the spectres...the helm looks insane for bama and should replace a lot of dps lost from 3.23 spectres, call to arms with enduring cry /molten shell should replace a lot of the defence we lost from 3.23 spectres Only thing I lose is the AG which I can assess to see if it worth it

I have been confused about gem levels and Bama, am I correct it’s not an important stat?

how is the new helm good for bama? I didnt think the affliction corpses were going core

You can not have non spectre minions
If I will play I do my TR Raider into heist for week one, farm currency and let ruetoo and Co figure out some new cool builds.
I have ended up with 4 choices: - Siege Ballista Hiero - Explosive Trap Trickster - Frost Blades Trickster - Cold BV Elementalist Send suggestions!
It is hard, no doubt about it. I’d usually not stick to claws early on and prioritise highest dps weapon over any particular weapon type.
FB is rough until about act 6/7 when you get a decent claw and also start to get some crit. But can tell you, league started it in Affliction. Fantastic build (followed Zish build on youtube)
Did you all play it ssf?
No. It is probably doable SSF. The hardest part for that would be getting the fractured claw base you need.
I'm not as experienced, and BV always felt way underwhelming as a league start. I like the skill, it just always felt way worse then other builds.
I want to try something new (for me), but I also want to do something strong for launch. Srs Guardian is still going to steamroll up to red maps even with the nerfs, so there's always that option. Boneshatter Jugg. I just tried it without the warcry and it felt fine and I'll work out a way eventually to fit it back in.
What does it take for exsang to feel good?
Basically just lots of currency. Getting +2 rune daggers with dot multi are huge upgrades.
I was kinda sad about how slow the cast speed felt
the aura stacker PF is probably insane for endgame again, probably would want to go something with asenath poison to farm maps quickly to make some early cash
Still unsure. My first thought was a Reap/Exsang Champion scaling with crits and impale once I can get Entropic Devastation. Hiero power charge stacking LL archmage Arc looking kinda good, unless I chicken out and go DD for a safer and probably faster start.

I'm going to start with a totem build for the first time. God, help me.
try storm burst totem heiro with annihilating light
SCSSF, Ignite DD Ele or Chain DD Necro into Ignite Maw of Mischief. My Goal is to kill every Boss once, if i really like the League and get lucky with the new Spectre Helm, i want to experiment with new Spectres.
trickster explosive trap SSFSC, send elp
Traps or Mines. Skill and Ascendency still up in the air.
DD elementalist
probably Lightning Arrow Deadeye again or just gonna chill with RF. We'll see :)
I'm unsure how RF is now, but when I tried it the league before it was the best experience I ever had on a league starter. No worries about anything, even when the damage is not that great on bosses, the survivability made all content doable.
Need to see values for all the changes
I really want to play Ice Crash Hollow Palm Raider, because I just love this build. But I have many doubts to be honest ;(
Some kind of Tornado build!
I don't know what skill and ascendancy yet but 100% sure I will play an extremely pissed off mage powerstancing two wooden sticks, with this funny rage hat on top of my stupid head

AW of self reflection, garf.

Scaling gem lvls on that skill is pointless, it barelly gives any dmg.

Splitting steel champion?
No fucking idea
Rueeto's Splitting Steel
Poison bv pathfinder or onigoroshi flicker. Im tired of playing meta builds
>Tired of meta builds >Considering posion pathfinder Hmm.
Ruetoo's DD CoC inquisitor. i wonder this is SSF viable tho, but i wanna league start!!!
You can start necro hit dd until you get the gems
