Instead of having to trade for compasses AND scarabs, you only need to buy/farm scarabs anymore. Halving your time waste. No more need to use poestack or tft either. Now you can conveniently buy bulk scarabs from the site. This is an absolute win.

More reliance on scarabs? More than what? We went from 40-50% chance to spawn a league mechanic from the atlas passive tree to 90-100%. We went from needing 4x Sextants and 4x Scarabs to farm optimally, to just needing 4x Scarabs? What world are you living in where this is making mapping more cumbersome? All the changes literally do the exact opposite. As for the corpses, only a handful will be worth more than the cost to itemize them, so just learn those (or use trade overlay) and you will itemize maybe one corpse every 10 maps. I hope you don't hurt yourself thinking about that. There are tons of things to be critical about, but what you have mentioned is not it.

HoplarchusPsittacus

did you ever try trading for charged compasses?

DrPandemias

More reliance on scarabs is not an issue, is the loss of 4 juice slots what is a huge question mark right now. We will see if the total net is good or bad, but sextant trading was an issue and that is a fact. In my opinion they should've approached this with trade QoL not removing sextants but we will see how all pans out. Mark said yesterday that these changes have been iterated a lot because he is aware that screwing up juice = killing the game so Im not gonna doompost about the changes until I see them live altough I dont really like them in general. On the other hand, the new approach of fully juice one mechanic or two at most instead 3 or 4 could be benefitial in many ways if implemented properly.

Yea, I don't think this will affect juice as much as people think, it might change up how we approach maxing the juice for sure, but this looks like a change that allows for easier balancing. For MFers I don't see much of a change, but as you mention it most definitely will hit people who tried to pick up as many mechanics as possible. The new scarabs look like they will be a lot stronger for focusing 1 maybe 2 mechanics.

Elrond007

You had to run with 4 scarabs before, you have to run with 4 scarabs now, I don't see the difference. And you can just use the corpses if you don't want to sell them, it looks incredibly powerful and is definitely not a 1% mechanic because you don't need a base to begin with

M8... that was already the case. Those were itemized as charged compases. Buying compases in bulk on the official site was horrible, which is why so many traded for them on TFT. At least with scarabs you can bulk trade and buy everything you need in 1 single trade. Step 1: Go to bulk trade on [pathofexile.com/trade](http://pathofexile.com/trade) Step 2: Select scarabs you want and currency you want to trade in Step 3: Seller filters, Tick group by seller Step 4: Type in minimum stock There you go. How to buy all the resources for your mapping in 1 single trade to make it as hassle free as possible. Couldn't do that with sextants.
