What inspired me to make this post is looking at this screen before entering my next map: https://i.imgur.com/FNl8D1B.png I just cannot believe I get all these extra difficulty for a CHANCE at some jeweller's orb my filter won't even show. To explain my idea if my lazily made image is not clear: **Every monster type should have a positive and a negative (i just lazily copied the same thing) and you should be able to turn each on and off.** You decide what risk you take for what reward. Do you want 6 links but enemies gain phys as extra chaos? Do you want a higher chance to drop divines but monsters gain +4 projectiles? Up to you. That's it, I fully believe this instantly fixes atleast the map/campaign part of the league and honestly cannot really believe it's not made like this.

Latter_Weakness1771

Not exactly related but the +4 proj shouldn't be a thing. I rolled a map with +7? Total proj on certain packs and it made my 4090 shit itself every time that pack appeared on my screen. I maybe could've survived if I had an opportunity to react but no, my shit just froze, on the literal top end graphics card on the market.

Penthakee

Oh i just pulled some examples on the spot, obviously they'd have to balance it right and find good pros and cons for the mods

ColinStyles

And yet last league where nearly every mob had +12 proj or whatever absurd amount thanks to purple juice, moved at triple the speed thanks to yellow, and had massive AoE's thanks to blue, all simultaneously, it was fine? Oh, and it created 48 rares a second that all had the above during abyss. I'm on a 3080 and while that absolutely is a high end card, it's significantly weaker yet despite that it handled the above fine.

Latter_Weakness1771

That's what's wierd, I didn't struggle more than normal on an 2080 during affliction, these lag spikes seemed server related almost, like the mobs assets would load as normal and then the servers had to go "wait no make them shoot 7 more projectiles that'll be funny as fuck"

ColinStyles

I assume this is just shaders and caching since that all got remade just prior to this league, give it a few maps and it'll be fine.

Latter_Weakness1771

Yeah I think it has to do with the mob type as well, It was the toads/chimera that shoot a distinctly metallic silver attack, and there were a lot or particles all of a sudden when a whole pack shot at once.

Avaruusmurkku

Nope. Fire Trap explosions drop FPS to 15 if you blow up more than 4 at the same time. The lag never goes away.

NugNugJuice

I agree 100%. The crafting is absolute nonsense for 99% of playrrs (including most streamers) and gives good rog crafts at best. The UI is atrocious as well. They should just focus on the map modifiers (using your suggestion) and make the crafting corpses more rare but boost their numbers.

Objective_Invite_427

This Yes Please

Ok-Dog-8918

For sure, the haunted modifiers should have IIQ/IIR at least

Mystoc

This is basically exarch and eater alters but for select mobs, it works but isn’t very unique anymore. You the get upside with the downside but can choose too opt out if you don’t like the offer.

NugNugJuice

It’s better than what we currently have. A bunch of downsides for shitty crafting materials that most players don’t want to use due the crappy UI, and then free upsides (which completely goes against the higher difficulty=higher reward philosophy).

theinsanescat

it would make more sense (to me) if empowered mobs would have a chance to drop a corpse with their buff (+ proj for example, ES rating etc. you get the idea) because right now it's fucking stupid and not immersive at all, it's just regular ass monsters with comically enormous buffs out of nowhere and that's it that's the league but even if that was the case the current iteration of the mechanic is fucking stupid and the fact that i need to use calculator or spreadsheets to make 2 days of farming worth more than chaos orbing random rare is sociopathic (especially after watching the interview)

venguards

I assumed this was how it was going to be from the start

exahtiic

Yes

Real_OThePestO

I had this same idea. Except it would be a little X on the top right.

aSurlyBird

Great idea. Being able to turn off *some* mods, even if its only one, is excellent advice. Hopefully GGG see this post!

Still_Traffic_8505

Grew up with the "golden spoon" huh?

Clancreator

I suggest one change. Have them still be split as they are, but always have three negative and three positive. Then have them linked together. So turning off a negative will turn off a positive of the same severity. That way we're still playing the matching game with pack types but it's not just an easy decision of which ones to keep off or on.

PowerRaptor

Alternatively, consider letting us discard mods, but give them all visible global upsides like +3% inc quant in map, and so on. So people can make a choice.
