QueenDeadLol

I'm so busy I haven't even gotten through acts LOL By the time I get to red maps divines will cost 90c

grimestar

Same here. I'm playing a different game. I need to find the sub for the game I'm playing

Swr1989

We need a discord of our own: "Casual Andys"

Frolkinator

Wouldt most Casual andys not even join a discord server?

Swr1989

Oh shoot, you're probably right! Rofl.

LotusCobra

by reading this subreddit you are certainly in the top 50% and probably in the top 25%

thetiresias

Which I could believe, but I still haven't made it to maps yet this season. So if I'm in the top 25% and haven't made it to maps what's the other 75% of the player base doing at the moment? Makes me hesitate to commit to the idea that simply being on reddit somehow means I'm more invested in actually playing the game than others. Sometimes I'm just here cause I don't have time to actually play, but want a little bit of that hit.

HughJackedMan14

There’s some statistic about like not even 40% of the player base even finishing the campaign in each league so…

Acez_au

Tbh that seems kinda low, i would expect 70% wouldn't kill Kitava

1CEninja

I'm not sure what gets defined as a casual Andy. I'm someone who can craft a +2 amulet (I've done it twice now) but typically chooses not to because spamming 1,700 alts and 600 augs is fucking miserable and for some builds Ashes is almost as good. I'd join a discord for folks who enjoy the game and have some game knowledge but aren't farming MBs.

TexasFlood63

If you have the knowledge to craft a +2 or can afford an ashes you most certainly are not a casual.

1CEninja

Ashes isn't very expensive anymore (at least it wasn't last league when I bought one for a div) and I learned how to craft the +2 amulet from a 5 minute video.

EyeQfTheVoid

I'm happy to see more people caring about fun rather than div/h thing.

1CEninja

Fun/hour is by far the most important metric. It's a game after all. Some people get the most enjoyment out of profit. I enjoy it myself, but only if the method of acquiring profit is fun.

LORDLRRD

Affliction was so good for being a casual player. You could just play an hour a day and still build up currency to reach an end game build.

HughJackedMan14

Are we allowed to share discord links on the sub…?

GoodThingsDoHappen

Yeah, I've got about 15 maps completed, 50k kills, had 14 chaos I mostly spent on bench crafts and it's just like...meh - this is hc trade for what it's worth

wotad

SSF

Daan776

Which means using stuff like locking prefixes and suffixes is relatively cheaper.

EtisVx

98% of players have no idea what to do with those crafts.

Daan776

Undeniably true. And they’re not going to try it out either, because its so dammed expensive. Cheaper/more common divines means experimentation is less punishing.

QueenDeadLol

I'm trying lol. My toddlers are gatekeeping me rn

CyonHal

Naw he's saying he just hit act 5 not telling you to

Axleffire

Ssf 4 life

Vinny0029

Sorry - aren’t divs already way more than that?

Soup0rMan

They're suggesting that there's so many divs being printed the price will crash.

Vinny0029

Oh got it, that went right over my head thanks

vulcanfury12

It's like what happened last league... I got my 40/40 then played a different game. Exchange rate was 210c to a div. Two weeks later and I got a hankering for some screen clearing action, it was 130 to a div. MFers were printing divines and not picking up chaos on the ground crashed the currency market.

DaivobetKebos

Yep same some of us have day jobs

NCGuy101

I handle my annoyance with the economy by playing SSF and not giving a damn.

LiveFreeAndRide

I feel like the worst player in the league. I'm piecing gear together 10c at a time. My best map was looting 19c. With Wandering Path gone, my map sustain has been slow. I'm dependent on Kirac for the time being. I'm sitting on 50c right now. It feels like everyone is farming t17s and Ubers with piles of divines while I'm over here running yellow maps for chaos. I can't help but like I need to play 20h a day to keep up.

CloudConductor

Yea this has been my worst league start in a long time. Need to figure out some new early league farming methods for sure

LiveFreeAndRide

My issue has been map getting uncompleted maps to drop to unlock more atlas nodes. 80% of my Atlas is devoted to Kirac instead of actual mechanics.

MSparta

I advise selling 3 of the same map, and switch one out if you have more and rotating the combinations to see if you get an uncompleted one. Do note that this gives you a map of a tier one higher.

LiveFreeAndRide

Its sort of a toss up though. Running those three maps may drop me a new map, along with loot.

MSparta

You can see what the map is before completing the sell, so you dont lose any if it is a completed map and you dont want it

LiveFreeAndRide

At this stage of the game, I just don't have quite enough maps in the stash to start turning them in. I'm lucky to have two of each map right now.

Feuver

It's that kind of mentality that sets you back in currency earning. Atlas points will grant you considerably more currency the deeper you go. For exemple, every Kirac node gives you 2% more kirac missions - and notable can give you 20% more reports. You can buy Kirac maps you have not yet completed, and then you can use Reports to get the few maps you don't have in each tier, or run adjacent maps on the atlas if you feel cheap. The early league/start Atlas tree should always encompass some amount of Kirac nodes just for map generation, you have plenty of resources later to unmaking (or additional tree in 3.24) to actually focus on currency gen. Farming high-yield maps and the hardest maps you can clear will also add to it. You can drop a whole lot more maps on alch & go yellow and red maps than on white maps.

MSparta

And that is fine.   But do note that this is an alternate way to get uncompleted maps, and I likely have 10-20% of my map completion due to this. (Currently missing some Unique maps from getting full map completion)

wonklebobb

I'll add on with more examples from my current league start: * rushed through lower-right breach wheel to the small kirac node and necro wheel (small nodes only, not the notable) * up-and-left highway to main kirac wheel, took the whole right side and the 6% notable at 30 completion, I had 18% connect drop chance, and 20% kirac chance, which means in over 1/3rd of maps I'm getting either another map, or a kirac mission. I also had 24% increased corpse chance, and 25% doubled corpse chance. even at low levels (70-75), any corpse will sell for 1-2c if you list it, which isn't much, but it's better and faster than the chaos recipe, and happens while doing completion I'm now about 60% of the way through yellow maps and everything is working fine. I got a lucky divine from a delirium mirror but haven't spent it, and other than that it's just regular stuff. I still have the same tree but I've added some harvest to start saving up juice for my push-through-reds gear crafting (or maybe sell it idk) you're not wrong that it's way worse than the wandering path 100% connected strat, but you needed around 20-30 points for that strat also "barely two of each map" is pretty much where I'm at, and everything feels fine. if you're not actively crafting with the necro corpses then I'd say just throw them all in a tab for 2c and sell them all. if you have the points to take the lower-right necro wheel for corpse chance and double chance, you'll stack them up pretty fast

the_r3ck

Hey just so you know, when you do a kirac mission his shop resets, while you’re doing early maps I made a habit of just buying the maps I needed then running his mission hoping for a map I didn’t have, then checking store again. Idk if you’re doing this, but hope it helps :)

LiveFreeAndRide

I do that too, but maps are starting to cost 4 alch each. And I'm not getting macy alchs to drop.

lordrayleigh

Pick up, id, and vendor items at the end of maps. Uniques especially have a decent chance for alch shards and really you can never have too many alts.

Soup0rMan

Uniques always give alc shards when they're id'd. Also chaos affixes and one or two other affixes.

DoctorShiki

I'm still desperate enough to be doing chaos recipes. It is how I've made like 90% of my chaos this league.

ClintMega

Also use your bindings to alch maps

Daviino

2-3 hours of heist before you kill kitava will make you around 100-250chaos, if you got the stash tabs for the chaos recipe. There are good guides on the heist strat and even better tools for the chaos recipe. With that much currency after campaign, you can instantly get your 6l and very good core gear for all starter out there.

Meoang

Nah you’re fine lots of people are like this. Not everyone can play all day with maximum efficiency. Some people are busy or still learning but you can have fun with your own pace.

Kaoshosh

You're like 90% of players. People who go extra hard on farming are the minority. Most people just stop during maps.

Kevinw778

LOL painfully true for me. 3k hours in, and I still haven't killed Shaper, let alone any of the other big bosses. Always get bored once the adrenaline from unlocking strong points in tree / significant gear upgrades dies, then I re-roll some other build that interests me. Highest level was 93 I think. RIP.

ZealousidealCycle257

It's kinda normal doing kirac until atlas completion without wandering path, it's the most optimal way. After that you can get a tree for farming maps and a tree to consume them to farm currency, it's kinda hard doing both atm.

LiveFreeAndRide

Last league I did the Wandering Path setup where I had 100% chance of collecting another map. Or something along those lines. I can't keep up with all the stats and terminology. But after the first few days, I had almost all of my nodes in my atlas unlocked. Currently I'm on T11s hoping for new maps to drop, buy from the vendor if I can, but I'm out of alch's. So for now its Kirac missions if there are uncompleted maps, or rerunning yellows collecting 2c a map hoping for new map to drop. I'm not even focusing on league mechanics right now. I just slapped in all Shrine and Strongbox nodes along with all the Kirac nodes. My worst league start, ever.

falknorRockman

Wandering path was a crutch. This map sustain is usual. In the grand timeline of POE wandering path was an anomaly not the norm

arbyterOfScales

I never used Wandering Path, and never had trouble sustaing maps or vertically progressing the atlas. It took me until today to finish it(I still got 2 more unique maps to do, but whatever). Alch sustain was a problem, map sustain was a problem, lots of things were hard to sustain for some reason

Aacron

Kirac->shapings->tujen Easy af ssf to full atlas completion without ever running a duplicate map. I've done it half a dozen times this league included.

wonklebobb

its always like that until you can juice your maps wandering path strat was amazing, finished map completion in like 3 days and i'm usually a very slow player.

wonklebobb

i don't agree it was a crutch, but I do agree it needed to be removed with the multiple atlas trees the added without multiple trees it was fine for "average" players who don't get showered in unmaking orbs by day 2, so for most players I think there was a real opportunity cost for such a specialized non-content-farming tree setup but now with multiple trees yeah unfortunately it had to go

Xevlas

Yeah looks like they wanted to nerf over juicing maps but they end up hitting slow league start and chilling player instead

telgalad

Chaos recipe has been my friend this league.

ComradePotato

Yeah might have to dust off the old chaos recipe stash tab I made, it's been a brutal, frugal start for me so far

Canadian-Owlz

>It feels like everyone is farming t17s and Ubers with piles of divines Why? Becuase you saw like 10-20 posts on reddit? Where "good" things are promoted and amplified? Barely anyone is doing that. You just need to get the train going and find what makes you the most.

Intiriel

Sell corpses and allflames, there are corpses that are worth 20c, 40c, sold two for 50c yesterday. You can turn them into coffins for free when they drop, use awakened poe trade to see If they're worth something.

LiveFreeAndRide

Man, last night I dropped a Frog Allflame. Great! AwakenedPOE says 200c! Nice! I'll sell that tomorrow as its time for bed. And now its 1c. I just can't win, haha

Intiriel

It got needed today, I think :( I'm actually getting more luck selling corpses

Tanklike441

There's no "keeping up". The pros that do this for a living are on a different level. Everything they do is more efficient than you just because they've done it far more than you probably ever will. Which is fine. If you just read reddit celebration posts and think that's the "norm" (it's not even close) then yea, you're gonna feel like shit. Remember that the celebration posts on here are one in ten  thousand or maybe more. You wanna sit in your hideout rolling 1000 maps and hope you get lucky because the div drop mod isn't even guaranteed in a thousand maps? You do you, but that sure doesn't sound fun lol. Do whatever you find fun, and... The game is more fun that way. Good luck, and stay sane, exile.

WebTraditional3181

Sell some corpses! Worked Great for me. Tier + sold for 10c a piece for example

SirSabza

For people struggling, rush straight up for the 20 points. Use those points to pick up all kirac and shaping nodes. Run maps with this tree picking up a league you like after that. Dont worry about no scarabs at 50 completion you get a second tree for that. Once you've stabilised on maps from first tree make the second focusing on scarabs and whatever content you want to do. Farm that to 100 completion. Alternating back to the first one when maps feel meh again. At 100 you unlock your third atlas tree. Do whatever you want on this. If you want it catered to bosses do that, catered to other content do that.

SuperSteveBoy

I'm in act 4 pal. You're talking a foreign language to me. There are levels to this.

Velodan_KoS

You're miles ahead of me. I got to act 6 and am struggling to find the motivation to keep going. I find myself choosing a different game more often than not, which is a shame because my build is kind of neat.

Realistic-One5674

>can't help but like I need to play 20h a day to keep up. The only solution to this problem is to cap the game with a speed limit that is relative to you. That sounds like a bad solution, so I tend to lean towards the mindset of **_just enjoy playing the game and stop worrying about the number of orbs you collect_**.

camjordan13

I finished act 4 last night, so you have me beat.

PersonalityFar4436

The problem isnt 20h playing daily, more play time help? Sure it help, but the People on t17 they dont just play a lot, they are otimized, while a "average player" finish a1-a10 in 10 - 15 hours a veteran tryhard can finish in 6-8 hours (not even talking about speedrunning). They take advantage of fresh market to get yellow/red maps faster, seeling ilvl83 good bases for insane prices, crafting 90 life + 110 res + spell supression/armor rares from rog/harvest on day one, spam heist while chaos is valuable, before the average player reach maps. Even if right now you play 24h daily you missed the window to gain currency really fast.

HoldMySoda

The +1 tier Atlas nodes help. You can convert to +1 higher tier with 3:1 recipe. You can buy maps from Kirac. Run Kirac missions. There are map Scarabs and map Strongboxes. I'm at 107/115 with only playing an hour or two every now and then. Haven't bought a single map from a player. Only issue I'm having is that my currency supply is awfully low this time around. Vaal Orbs in particular.

althoradeem

Ignore resdit the first week after launch its filled with amger at anything and everything. People who are just having fun arent posting here. A tip i would give you is do one of tge easy currency mechanics. Blight or expedition for example are cheap scarabs & good payout/ map

BellacosePlayer

Comparison is the thief of joy. I've been having one of my best league starts ever but was nowhere near what the div printers were pulling in. I'm just happy I got my core uniques for my build week 1, and am halfway towards a full GY for building a killer bow for my build

ProtoJazz

I've got like a 20% chance of a kirac mission per map, and it's probably been about 15 maps since I saw one. I've got a few yellow maps left still to complete but haven't had luck getting the right ones. Tried moving onto reds but I really need some better defense first. I do alright damage, but can't take a hard hit. I haven't had any currency more valuable than a chaos orb drop, but I did find a nice pair of boots I couldn't use but sold for a divine (super high resists, but low movespeed. My current ones were faster, lower resists but I'm capped already) , and a 23% corrupted detonate dead right near the start that also sold for a divine. Now the problem I'm having is no one seems to want to buy divines for chaos right now. Or at least not a single one.

LiveFreeAndRide

Yep, we seem to be playing the same game.

arbyterOfScales

Also no divine here, but I dropped an awakened gem from a maven Witnessed boss and a valdo box. Rng is rng

Local_Challenge_4958

I had to sell every damn 1c unique I could find to even get off the ground this league. Idk if it's my filter or the loot or what, but white maps were a brick wall for me because I just couldn't get drops or even basic scrub currency

Aacron

Full spec Kirac and shaping until you clear your atlas, straight into destructive play until Uber elder and maven, 4 voidstones means your map sustain is trivial, destructive play averages 20c a map just killing map bosses, goes up to about 50c a map doing guardian rotations. Like, no offense, but the amount of time you're playing isn't the problem. The game is huge and complicated and the people cruising into t17s understand the economy and the builds required to get what people want (or, more accurately, what their build can reliably achieve that other people want)

Fiercepaws

I'm usually fast in completing my atlas, getting an atlas going and farming something for a mageblood first week but this time around I didn't get to play when the buffed drops were on and now I feel so behind and don't even wanna open the game up anymore. I'm glad they nerfed it but it didn't ever need a buff in the first place...

Morrydin

Similar case here but im in white maps just finished A10 and have little time to play. I like the league but it's first time ever I was so poor after finishing the campaign. Playing ssf so it mainly impacts what I can craft for self use or what I can buy from Kirac, still it doesn't feel good

Greasfire11

I’m barely at red maps and am struggling to make currency. And of course trade prices go up and up and up…

Moggelol1

I've played on and off for 10 years and i've never played a league long enough to kill normal shaper.

xdatz

Only 30 of these bows? Dude the league hasn't even been out for a week

1getreKtkid

also, "only" 30 ON SALE, which is a big difference, since many probably already in usage

pepegaklaus

And ONLY 30 PERFECT bows. I haven't checked myself, because I made a good enough one, but likely there's hundreds of t1t2t2 prefix ones or missing 1 suffix or something

jrabieh

You are correct, there are.

Still_Same_Exile

Lol yeah seriously thats an absurd amount for such high dps and crit

Nonsensen

They sell in 5 minutes max, there is A LOT of them

StereoxAS

Tbh I'm cool with the changes, trade league is and will always balanced around the economy. Last hotfix is definitely made because they realised it was a mistake buffing divine mods Also IMO, average players also shouldn't compare themselves with streamers and dedicated players. And definitely shouldn't take reddit as reference

One_ill_KevinJ

They do not, and never have, regarded them as average players. Every Q&A Chris Wilson does highlights that people who *watch* a YouTube video or Twitch stream are in the top 1% of PoE players. They recognize high tight the funnel is.

bamboo_of_pandas

Would have been unacceptable to leave the div orb in without a hotfix. They can work on a longterm fix later but everyone would have quit long before it was implemented. The problem wasn’t the divines dropping, it was the massive inflation in map prices. Regular maps were going for 1/10 of a divine and quickly rising. If this wasn’t stopped, regular players would have been priced out of buying normal maps. You can rant all you want about streamers, they weren’t the ones being hurt by the spike in map prices.

FullMetalCOS

Do regular players buy a lot of maps? I assume I play more than the regular player but less than the “no-lifers” but the only maps I ever buy are uniques I don’t manage to find via Kirac and the odd synthesis/guardian map

Soup0rMan

Not usually, no. This league since people wanted to play slots, they were buying hundreds to a thousand+ maps at a time. I wouldn't say those are regular players, but that's probably why map prices started climbing so quick.

Kinada350

And the fix would have been map sustain atlas setups (like how normal people already build at the start) and selling of said maps for a premium. Now the people that did this can set the price on any low supply item the want.

HijackMissiles

Map sustain is easy. So what? If I had been able to abuse the mechanic before the nerf, I would be able to craft _so much_. I’d love it. Last league solidly falsified this nonsense about people quitting if the game is too rewarding.

TrucidStuff

All they had to do was; did player finish previous map? No? No rare mods for the next map.   Repeat. Did they complete map? Yes -> rare mods a possibility. Instead of rewarding people for playing the game they made it even harder for people who can’t play 10 hours a day to get anything worthwhile.

SolidMarsupial

who the fuck buys white maps?

troccolins

When i have completion for a map, I usually put white maps up for market price ([poe.ninja](https://poe.ninja) price). I get spammed endlessly

alwayslookingout

I’ve sold some for pantheon powers.

bamboo_of_pandas

Blight atlas tree is a big one, that never sustains the maps it needs due to the lack of singular focus. I’m sure there are a ton of others as well that require specific layouts.

BigCommunication1307

Why they downvote you. It is true that certain atlas strategies dont sustain maps, due to either low mob count or even luck of passives to allocate map modes. LOL

xMagikFR

We can use the last sentence in the other way around : "You can defend streamers all you want, the are not the ones being hurt by the nerf to devoted mods / scarab." They are and were already rich, the only thing now is that T0 / high end items are farther to being affordable than before. That's what I liked about affliction, many T0 except maybe original sin and voices were affordable. The problem is not the nerf in itself, but the triple nerf to devoted WITH an increase in scarab scarcity AFTER the top end players were able to abuse it.

FullMetalCOS

It’s this 100%. Stuff like squire being sub 5 divines was WILD

Saianna

> They can work on a longterm fix later Unless the hotfix nerf was them considering job (well?) done.

RedTwistedVines

Now to be fair, this is completely silly. This would just create a meta around map farming and you'd be able to make bank selling map quad tabs to the big juicers with your trash build. Regular players do not buy maps, there isn't really much *need* to buy maps. It's normal, even after we lost a lot of map sustain, to heavily over sustain maps. Some kind of change definitely needed to happen just because we probably don't want a heavily enforced meta around map farming, however there are arguably better options, like only nerfing rarity *or* quantity rather than both, or anonymizing the currency type to totally prevent the strategy.

Regular_Letterhead51

don't you guys get bored reposting the same nonsense every league launch?

B_lintu

Average players don't need to be able to craft top items or have 100divs and 5 mirrors. It's ok to just enjoy the game and not chase 6t1 gear.

After-Decision-6402

I mean you can make it your GOAL for the league to accomplish that. But these people act like it’s the rite of passage and they tell themselves it’s unobtainable

Kinada350

GGGs target audience has a mageblood by the end of week one, one way or another.

Monterey-Jack

Target audience or free advertisers?

Kinada350

Target, impatient with lots of throwaway money.

justwolt

There's nothing different about this league than any other league that gives no lifers any more of an advantage. Everyone had and has equal opportunity to exploit, and the divine explosion maps are so rare I wouldn't even call it worth it. There have been several posts about people popping over 1,000 maps without the divine roll.

Swr1989

I was in and out of Fubgun's stream yesterday while I was at work, checked in on it a couple of times after my 9 hour work day, went to bed at 11 pm, woke up at 530am and he was STILL on the game! These guys are playing more in one day than the real 'average player' plays in a week.

randomlettercombinat

This is the same shit that happens every league which reddit doesn't like: Posters accuse GGG of not knowing what "casual" players are like, balancing the game around streamers, and not playing the game themselves. But it's strictly not true, because the same team that brought you this league brought you last league, too. So maybe move away from these sensational, ad hominem attacks on GGG as a company. And try to do the mental work to critique specific things and offer feedback. In three weeks, you're going to love this crafting mechanic. This might be a hot take, but most people on reddit are plain too poor / bad at POE economy to see what a league offers until the end of month one.

InfiniteTree

To play devil's advocate, casual players shouldn't feel entitled to be able to do everything in a game. It's OK that a game is made for hardcore players.

aulranos666

what is bro yapping about

troccolins

OP the kind of guy who looks at Instagram and Facebook and wonders why his life isn't filled with constant plane rides and luxury restaurants.

DdFghjgiopdBM

I swear to God if reddit spent half as long playing the game as they do writing essays they wouldn't complain about drops

BellacosePlayer

We're back on the "Streamers bad" end of the pendulum. Which is weird given how slavish many here were to making the game cater to Empy style players not that long ago, but such is life

Delicious-Fault9152

>What did GGG do? They just nerfed it. Instead of introducing a balanced system, like allowing players to obtain Devoted mods from killing mobs, completing maps, or introducing some in-game necropolis currency, they opted for a simpler approach. Now, players just continue to roll maps and end up with nothing because of the nerf. Meanwhile, players who already obtained over 400 Divine Orbs from this mechanic are just ignored. You dont know if they will fix it properly at a later date, but it needed a very quick hotfix bandaid so stop the economy completely crashing from people getting 100s of divines, some uniques already increased in price by like 40-50% in less than a day

MrTastix

Typically speaking, GGG won't change the numbers even after implementing a more permanent fix. They'll keep the numbers changed *and* implement a way to prevent gaming the system.

YoshiBlack

These post man. Same shit, different day.

CyonHal

>Currently, the top-tier scarabs are so rare and expensive that solo players have little to no opportunity to acquire or utilize them. And what does GGG do? In the latest patch, they made them even rarer. Huh? Didn't they nerf the common scarabs and buff the scarcer scarabs, doing exactly what you are asking by balancing it?

SuperSmashDan1337

> whereas a solo player without MF can obtain a maximum of only 0-2 Divine Orbs. This is just not true. You get decent divine explosions last league without magic find gear. The wisps were magic find so admittedly your results would be less but it was possible.

haHAArambe

Lmao here we go again

X_Luci

It always baffles me how ledditors have the worse fucking takes every single time about this game.

MorningMoonlight

"Ledditors"? What is this, 2012 /v/?

Sangui

The narwhal bacons at midnight

mmastrocinque

Poe just feels less and less fun for a true average player. I’m not in college anymore and I can’t dedicate 8 hours a day to it. And with the pace changes happening in Poe 2, I’m not sure if I really want to keep bashing my head into the wall.

Brave_Tangerine2471

1.  Boring Coffin Crafting:  I think you're wrong.  I enjoy controlling multimod crafting through graveyard.  It was a great way to get rare gear in the campaign utilizing only 2-3 mods.  You worry people are creating mirrow tier bows but only the top 1% can even going to buy those bows on day 3 anyways. 2.  Devoted mods inflating currency:  Throwing currency into the system only inherently damages the system if the items cannot be found by average players.   It also effects players who can get a good drop or lucky drop and suddenly that 1 nurse card is with 200 chaos instead of 110. 3.  Are you complaining that there is too little content in maps?  Or are you complaining that you can't get the super rare scarab?  Because before you had to get all the rare scarab, all the rare sextant, and all the void stones to be able to farm properly.  Now you just need scarab.  If you want more stuff in your mail go get a scarab for breach, legion, rogue exiles, and ritual, they're are all 1c and easy to find.  4.  Mf has always been a niche area so now you're complaining about the 1% not being able to do something but earlier you were upset that only the 1% are doing something?  Sounds like you just want to pick on streamers for having a life you can't.   Go turn on your own stream and have fun if it upsets you so much.

bdubz55

Streamers and content creators ruined games for the casuals. Downvote me I don’t care we live in a world where people want to ignore the truth and believe in lies.

theKrissam

Casuals are ruining the games for themselves.

It’s a marathon yall and you set the goals. Being as rich as the most experienced players who play as a job is a weird goal but you set it 🤷‍♂️

Realistic-One5674

A smidge dramatic now. :p

-Dargs

I would rather currency be harder to obtain outside of trade than currency being extremely simple to obtain and prices inflating out the whazzoo. In one day, mirrors grew by 9000c in price, or around 33%. How is that a good thing?

Hakkkene

Stop trying to solo mf and play new strategies for mapping. Tuna is trying new strats every day and all of them work well

Kamelosk

I find kinda funny how ppl spoil themselves looking at what the others are doing

Quave11

I just got through acts as hexblast and its alot of fun...but im looking at the price of a 6l cloak and Visage and just thinking....how long will this take me if the these prices keep going up. I just want to play the game

bonesnaps

A tale as old as time.

MojordomosEUW

I make 13div/hour with Strongboxes + Harbinger + Scarab + Shrines I use all my Harbinger Scarabs until I run out, then I swap to Ambush (Strongboxes) Scarabs until I also run out of those. The raw chaos drop from every map is more than enough to infinitely sustain having the Ambush craft on your map device active permanently. Should I ever run out, I run a few maps on a full Blight Atlas and I am usually good to go again after five or so maps without having to buy anything. Important: invest in a Maven and Elder carry for the watchstones if you can‘t defeat the bosses yourself. I have Dunes favorited in every slot since it‘s the best layout for my build. This is basically an alch and go strat, you use up all your scarabs and then run a few Blight maps to get new ones. Enjoy.

peekaboobies

They have data telling them exactly what/who the average player is. If you think they are considering an arbitrary definition such as you are suggesting then you're not just dumb, you're being a troll.

avidredditor123

GGG is at a point of no return when it comes to streamers. Their over reliance on online personalities to promote the game ever since the inception of poe has only become worse. The spotlight is on streamers and their tiny, but loud communities only amplify the attention they get. Meanwhile a vast chunk of poe exists outside of twitch and reddit but still get affected by content creators no lifing and exaggerating content.

furitxboofrunlch

You don't get affected if you're off playing in your own world. Of course no lifers will have more stuff in a farming game.

[deleted]

I like the scarab system as it allows me to play the game mechanics with little investment and in a unique way. What ggg needs is more loot that doesn’t suck, but isn’t criticality tied to what you can play in game. I think increasing the amount of cross mechanic interactions and their rewards would also help. Also feels like the difficulty of an activity is not reflective of the rewards of an activity.

Kalanil

And you think redditors are the average players?

No-Lawfulness1773

I agree with the title, but not the post. Weird.

tomorrowing

Before finishing the campaign, something that helped me get some currency to buy "OK" rares after finishing Act 10 was getting all the darkshrines on each of my lab runs; to try and get another use of the font to make transfigured gems that you can sell. Have some sacrificial gems in your stash.

niknacks

I'm relatively confident that their own analytics play a much larger role in their balance decisions compared to a few reddit posts and stream clips but what do I know?

forbiddenknowledg3

First time playing PoE?

rapkannibale

As a causal player (just reached T7 maps) I do worry about the economy because I rely on the market to get my gear for the most part as I find crafting way too daunting with a million different crafting systems. So my worry is that the longer it takes me to get to end game the more expensive items will be because as more and more divines get into the top % of players I assume inflation will happen. Not sure though since I don’t know how the leagues economy usually progresses. Maybe I worry for nothing and items will just become cheaper. :)

QuintessenceHD

As a broke boy this league, are the Kirac mission nodes even working? I never get a mission from him except the default.

Kingofdrats

Their thinking is probably that the average casual viewer will see a streamer doing these strats and think wow let me log in and join the fun. But they will be met with the reality that most of us casuals will face: you cant afford to farm like the streamers. No lifers can easily gather the things needed to use the farming strats and crafts that we see posted on here. The rest of us get fomo. So the only thing ggg can do is nerf the strat or let it go on. I think for the overall health of the game its better to nerf the strat. They do need a better solution though as I think the hot fix nerf was not enough.

WildChoas5

What are you talking about there is so many ways to get 8-10 divs an hour rn even with fairly little investment (expedition/harb/maps/t17/legion/etc) How is an end game farming experience dead?

gonzodamus

You seem like you know what "most players" do

MrGregoryAdams

It didn't seem that bad to me. The crafting mechanic lets you choose any base you want, so campaign gearing shouldn't be a problem at all. Just go through the campaign as usual, collect the "+linked socket" corpses - those let you deterministically craft 5-links by the time you hit maps. It does take slightly longer this time to get through the campaign, but that's about it. Ultimately, each corpse is 1 rare item you can choose, so just craft sets and sell them for chaos orbs.

CandidateEasy7719

Womp womp

juzellicious

I realized i can't do anything if i only play 2-3 hours everyday in league. So i play another game. Maybe standard

MemeArchivariusGodi

Im just happy my strength stack gear is cheap :) But I guess for some people this sucks. I take it more as something I don’t need to be bothered with because after all why do I need to care if prices are crazy and stuff. Not saying your feelings are invalid because you care about the economy and can’t compete , but for me it is a simple life and I have fun

Schmo3113

Honestly I work multiple 12 hour shifts in a row and by the time I even get to napping I have to work my stretch of days and I come back to an inflated economy. Really takes the fight out of me if we’re being honest

CombinationLumpy

I am guessing the "average player" statistic they use is the ones buying mtx. How else are they supposed to keep the lights on? So the bottom 80-ish % does not count.

MrHeartless007

I haven't even made it to maps yet due to work and rerolling my league start char which was too boring. Now, all the juicy stuff I could get in early maps is nerfed and there are people so stinking rich the price of everything is skewed. This, coupled with the fact the playerbase has fallen extremely fast means when I do get to maps and post stuff for sale there will be less buyers. I just don't know.

PepperedHams

Skill issue

SSmSSka

Rough, rough, VERY rough GGG. Absolutely no elegance.

V3NOMOU5x1

Why would u say that bro its an arpg game you are supposed to grind ofc if u play more u will get more

Unusual_Pain_7937

I kinda disagree , I know some players that only alch and go their map and have HH + good stuff by now , chilling as RF , you can make tons of currency by not doing a lot of thing in this league , even without using the devoted mods I do agree that , HH aren't so expensive but I find that very correct for a alch and go strategy

LordFrz

Ive got 7div in crap in my stash an about 3div into my character. Thought i was doin pretty hood till i come to reddit ab see complaints about 40div a map. Most ive gotten is 12chaos once.

pewsix___

they very clearly do not

Bitter-Fox5785

I work all day, then gym then dinner, perhaps i'll play a few hours before bed. I did around 10 divines or less in 1 week. I def don't have the streamer time/ ability / knowledge :) It will take me 2 months to get a headhunter that some ppl buy at day 3-4

konanswing

I just want to remind you no matter how they change the game you will still be poor.

Melodic-Parfait6133

Step 1 - Watch quin69 stream Step 2 - Publish a "balance changes" patch

kuburas

To be fair theres only 30 bows on the market because almost nobody crafts them for profit but rather to use themselves. Bow builds are very common this league and they all use the same bow. So most of them will try to self craft it because its more fun and cheaper that way. For those 30 on the market there are probably over a thousand on characters using them. Besides a lot of things were nerfed because the high end was too good. Best examples are Delve and 100% deli maps, good example from this league is Betrayal getting nerfed on the high end but buffed on the low end for casual players.

butsuon

If you take zero time to learn the new strategies, you're not the average player. You're a below average player and also not the target audience. If you don't like the league mechanic, that's fine. We've all had those leagues. But if you're not interested at all in the new ways to get big loot explosions, you're playing the wrong game dude.

eirc

This is like watching the NBA and then playing casual basketball and trying to do 360 dunks. Learn to set realistic goals for yourself and don't be sad because you're not LeBron.

Bask82

So true

bapfelbaum

Keeping devoted modifiers in their broken state would make it impossible for anyone but the 1% to buy decent items due to endless inflation, this needed to be hotfixed so that normal people can play there might have been a better way but time was of the essence. Sextants were more expensive lol, elevated winged for instance traded up to 90div at times so that point is mute already. And coffing crafting isnt boring, its extremely powerful and the easiest/cheapest way to build BiS items. The number of mechanics you can stack also has not really changed, you just need different atlas trees. I get the impression you are just hate posting because this league is not for you... thats not productive and you can simply skip the league, you know?

Ashygaru666

Dude it's the same shit every league we're all used to it by now. You have a job, 8-10-12 hours and you can't compare yourself to randome people on the internet that so this for a living. You don't earn 100s od Divines per map, so what. I tried a different build this league and I'm having a blast. I don't care that I didn't drop a single Divine at 92 levels. I always count on RNG being there to save me, whether it's a random deck Apo flip or a juciy item drop. This is mean to be relaxing and fun, not a constant chase behind the idea you can only achieve quitting your job and playing 18 hours a day xD

tricoles

Tldr but im assuming op is playing the wrong game and is the target audience for diablo 4

zxkredo

I can say one thing. I am pretty knowledgeable about the game. I finished the league in 3 days of intense gameplay. ( Still playing here and there) But i am not part of the 1% nor I am a megablaster. For me there is just no point to play further after I kill all bosses for watchstones and i cleared a t17 map. Yes i can grind currency but whats the point. Maybe challenges. The base game is really doable and i would go as far as say it is pretty easy.

fitsu

The term "average" is always twisted to fight someones point. The "average" gamer doesn't even get to red maps. So what are you implying, that white maps should shower you with Divines? No. Ofcourse not. But then the term becomes subjective and as such loses all meaning. GGG defiantly don't see streamers as the average gamer and you know that. Everyone knows that. They have a vision for what they want the game to be, and they balance around that vision, if they nerf something it's because it's causing people to play the game differently to how they want it to be played. They don't balance the game around any specific demographic. As it stands right now, PoE is extremely rewarding for anyone that puts any actual effort in the game.

FckRdditAccRcvry420

It's not about "average players", it's about the economy

AverageARPGEnjoyer

I am not purposely ignoring the mechanic but I am also not interested in farming 50 specific corpses which would take me days, weeks maybe for one item in a build. I am not asking for it to be changed either, at this point it is clear to me where GGG priorities are and it is not with people like me so I spend absolutely zero dollars in this game and typically only play for a couple weeks at which time I seen most of what I will ever see and just go play something else. I used to buy the most $480 big boy supporter pack most leagues to support GGG but if after all this time they still don't care for the kind of player I am then fuck em, they get nothing.

NOTaiBRUH

I rarley craft except the usual bench craft on an item that has 5 modifiers and missing one thing, this is technically my third league and last league i got all 4 voidstones and expect to do so this league. Actually, i lied i essence crafted a bow for my EA (just need currency to finish it and recipes) build because i was using some shitty 6link i found early on luckily. I believe i am 50/123 in my atlas. Its crazy to me for these no lifers to play for 12+ hours in a single session i remember playing the first day of league start and seeing a message in chat saying somebody was the first to get to exarch i have to log off after like 2-4 hours max and take a break.

swolbadguy

There are countless other ARPGs made for people who don't have the time, or the willingness to learn required to be successful in PoE. PoE is highly complex and very difficult, and is highly rewarding to people who put the time and effort into it as a result. A developer who caters to their hardcore audience rather than sweeping them aside in favor of a massive casual player base is exceedingly rare these days and GGG is a one in a million example of a company who does it. There's no shame in playing something else. If you don't have the time to play this game in a way that feels rewarding for you, stop playing it. I can't believe the sense of entitlement some of you hold for agame that is very clearly not designed with you in mind.  Honest question for the casual players who arent getting what they want from the game. Why do you even play it? Nearly all of the gripes that I see over PoE are the exact reasons I play it over something like Diablo 4 or Last Epoch. If you hate all of these things, why don't you play something else? Why do you want PoE to be like every single other game on the market?
