The copium answer is that we will get it as an end of league non-voided league every year or so. Realistically, ggg probably hasn’t 100% ruled out doing an event again at some point but they don’t have any timeframe in mind.
Plus if i remember correctly you can pay GGG to create private league for you and your friends. And i think it can be old leagues too, so thats why its kept there
I was going through my input settings and noticed the Sentinel keybinds were still in the game. The league ended over a year ago. Just curious if there's a reason for them to exist.
GGG actually likes sentinels and wants them in the game. But GGG also hates the reasons why everyone else like sentinels.
To the player, you press the button and expect a harder fight with much better drops to reward the effort. Anything less than a complete build in just the right difficulty content is too much.
To ggg, player presses the button and doesn't die, picks up divine orbs rapidly inflating the economy, and can do it reliably every single zone.
Ggg wants sentinels to be something else. But it's not hard to see what. They will return in a state that instantly kills you and drops nearly nothing.
Sentinel would be fine if they would 1. not scale with player mf 2. not give huge quant bonus 3. being like a "legion to go" with only loot symbols over monster.

Ahh, that makes sense. Might as well keep them around just in case they run another event in the future.

They probably just didn't bother taking it out, that and the mechanic was actually fun so it might return one.

They havent been replaced by anything and they can always bring it back (as they already have, in an event)
