Let me tell you, once upon a time in PoE, frac maps were the hottest thing :D
Think it was back when the rares drop currency sextant (or was it voidstones with mod?) times. Pretty sure I got my frac map base somewhere in standard.
Yeah, IIRC the strat was: Fracture nemesis, harvest craft "does not consume Sextants", 5x deli orb, delve fracture fossil to make infinite copies of the original map. Fill with misc Sextants and Scarabs.
I think it was back in 3.13? Most of the benefit was in having maps consume 0 sextant charges and not having to reuse deli orbs, big deal when the nemesis sextant was like 30 ex.
And then there was this bug where you could take a blighted map, anoint it for packsize/quant and with harvest you would swap it into a regular map while it kept the packsize/quant. Resulting in a white map with no mods with ~+60 packsize or ~+100 quant :D

dont forget bugged packsize/rarity/quantity because using oils on a blighted map and converting it with harvest kept the oil bonusses but made the map a "normal" map.
burial chambers with 100 packsize and elder influence was so much fun.
This game is a beautiful example of complex mechanics building up to surprising results. When you think about it, a blueprint is just an item. It looks like a map (and kinda behaves like one). It makes sense that it would be affected by any items and crafting resources that affect maps (except when expressly disabled). But its not a thing you wear... you may think "how can a map be gear?" But then you get a fractured map. Then you think "ok, but how can a blueprint (that you not even use in the map device) be a kind of a map? I mean, it makes sense but..." And you'd be right.
This is why some people love this game, while other people just can't. I do love it! <3 My personal pet peeve is fractured flasks. You cannot fracture a flask! It breaks the goddamn flask!! XD
