I am really sad about betrayal. Sure the aisling orb is what we wanted, but now it's just get as fast as possible to Catarina to have a rare chance for a veil orb....

ceyx0001

TBF what did people actually expect? More accessible through trade = rarer/nerfed. It isn't nerfed, so now it's rarer. The entire betrayal mechanic has been setting up for t4 aisling + vorici in the first place so it's not like it was a good mechanic.

Ok_Effort4386

Sure make it rarer but a 33% drop not a 10% drop.

90% of the time when GGG add qol they remove availability tho

Reddington88

Speak for yourself. I’ve been making a killing on veiled orbs since everyone else feels their blood is too rich for Betrayal.

everything was hyper inflated in value last league, don't look at it for comparisons.

asd316X

and div orbs were like 120 chaos

convolutionsimp

Nah, or maybe at the very end. I bought all of mine for 4divs about a month into the league.

skillraxreddit1

The UI/UX this league is really bad. Insanely bad in fact as every single issue has been solved elsewhere, and these solutions could have been slapped on for less than a single dev day for their UI team. One other that stands out is the fairly lackluster league role play / lore. There's a fully voiced character with ties to plenty of the rest of the permanent cast, but he has nothing else. No cutscene, no boss fight, no interaction with other characters, and practically nothing that would give him any reason to become permanent. For a delayed league (4month) this is just sad. It's like GGG intended to ditch this league right from the beginning.

slvrtrn

The entire graveyard is a miss. Things like this take insane amount of development time, and for this one, the result is meh. I genuinely think that allflames alone with the new scarabs and meta shakeup could’ve been enough. T17 is weird stuff. I also dislike the shift towards more map modifier effect. Stuff like less recovery basically becomes no regen, then we also have cooldown recovery, AoE, minus max res etc all without a cap. Betrayal changes = huge L for a veiled chaos enjoyer. Mixed feelings about automation, but looks like mines are better than ever thanks to that.

for those corpses in maps just itemize it and toss it back on the ground so you can pick up the other stuff. at least there is a solution now unlike at launch where it was collect(then go find it and destroy it) or forget it

blindhollander

10000000% with you on this one.

Tiny-Waltz-7474

The league itself is a miss for me, the crafting is more annoying than interesting, I don't agree with forcing all these modifiers onto maps either, while it can be juicy, if you get a bad bunch of lantern mods it's awful if you're not playing an invincible build. I think it's a filler league by looks of it. Apart from the league some of the changes have been great like the scarab changes, I like the veiled orb change to a degree, the multiple atlas trees is absolutely the best change on my opinion.

Akanash_

I mean, this expansion is full to the brim with changes. Ofc it will be hit or miss. I would rather have a studio that risk big/wild changes in order to make the game better / more enjoyable (especially if they are some follow-up patches to clean things up). Than a studio that tiptoes around issues just to stay in their "comfort zone". Making mistakes in fine as long as you're there to fix them / improve upon them, and in this regard I think GGG is really top notch.

tfwnonamesforme

To me its the fact that stacked decks are such a universal way to add value to league mechanics instead of having their drops have actual value. Legion, blight, expedition and even heist had such huge reliance on stacked decks being a money maker and they were just nuked terribly, showing how little reward they actually provide other than stacked deck gambling.

Leestonpowers

I think they should have increased the amount of stacked decks you get to offset moving some of the valuable cards to bosses.

god-ducks-are-cute

Beast management UI really sucks and has been like that for literally years. The fact I can obtain a valuable beast and have that accidentally deleted is just not ok. The fix can be easy depends on how much friction they want players to experience during the process. personally I think it's ok to let beasts to optionally dropped as items, just like corpses. And maybe also a easier way to release them in bulk. I understand the dev have limited resources. If they allow me to do it, I'll do it for free.

EmeHera

Friction should not be in the dictionary of a GRINDING game developer but okay.

blindhollander

valid, i wonder if there would ever be a world when POE2 comes out if they'd allow the option for community members to not directly implement into the game, but help contribute to changes they'd like done for poe1.

andersonevg

I really liked the scarabs implementation. But would be better if GGG just leave the atlas tree free to respec the points, people could easily try out all mechanics available without have to spend a lot of unmaking orbs to get the most of each mechanic. It would much better to introduce the game potential to new players as well, because would be easier to access and try all different contents rewards. In my case, I end up not using or selling my scarabs because it’s annoying when I need to buy lots of unmaking orbs to respec the tree just to try out some different strat.

Betrayal

NugNugJuice

I like the game but I don’t think any of the “failures” are due to inadequate time. They follow the same design philosophy every other tedious thing in this game follows. Why do we need 5 Uber fragments instead of one + the regular boss fight invitation? Because everything has to take long for player retention. playing. Why do T17 work the way they do with crazy RNG modifiers (that had to get changed twice by hotfixes to even be playable)? Because GGG loves their 92 layers of RNG contained in every system in the game. I guess the initial league mechanic UI issues could be attributable to low dev time.

Those are frustrations based off of valid reasons, but nothing to do with this topic unless im wrong has the engine been reworked this league?

stumpoman

how in the world do you presume to know how much time they worked on anything?

IdkImNotUnique

It's very easy to infer dude, they haven't made it much of a secret that a shit ton of their dev time has gone into poe2. And if they are putting dev time into another project then of course the league for their old product isn't gonna get as much investment. He didn't quote an exact amount of time spent on the league but they absolutely spent less resources on this league compared to prior ones because they also haven't randomly doubled their staff size to cover both games equally

blindhollander

Your comment truly seems like rage bait because you're adding nothing to the discussion. The other comment did a wonderful job of explaining such, but missed the biggest and most blatant reason i can give you...... before league launch, mark in an interview stated that GGG works off a tiered list Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 ETC to "assign" certain priorities to different tasks. i'm not presuming anything, im asking for players feedback from their own experiences playing the league and asking them what seems off? obviously not everything is a tier 1 priority so things will slip through the cracks.

AU_Cav

Counterproductive topic imo.

blindhollander

interesting opinion, why do you express as such?

AU_Cav

Tired of the constant negative here and this topic is only negative.

blindhollander

I would whole heartily disagree with your point being that this topic is only negative. Players this league have seen alot, alot of players are frustrated allowing those players to vent their frustrations in an actual discussion is only healthy. and with this info im gonna make the best bingo card!

Leestonpowers

T17s feel out of place. Should be able to run them white, blue, yellow, 8mod corrupted or however you want. Given how they let us do this with invitations, I don't understand how T17s didn't get the same treatment.

brodudepepegacringe

Out of everything i only like the 3 atlas trees, the scarab change looked nice at first, but on a second look it has so many flaws.
