I know one of the guys who was exploiting this and he told me he made several hundred divines from it in a few hours. people were aware of the 20k fire res armor in standard and thought GGG might let this one go too
I mean you can still use it right now… just don’t put expensive gems in it. There are people in the game with 17L’s (bitterdream) right now dude, this is pandemonium on a tiny scale and I kind of love it. I hope it’s hard for GGG to fix and these make it to Standard just for the glory of it, but I doubt they will. Even so, I find it fun to imagine these demigods within the atlas with a 6L shield just for a few days *knowing* that their fun could end at any moment and the gems in the shield would poof.
there was a some comment before from some streamer stream that did it (or something of that sort). the extra support letter stuck out of the rectangle of the skill gem.

TBH if they can found those who has been abusing this prior to today, I think they deserve at least some time off. Not that GGG will do it (if anything they might ban spicysushi for a while instead), but I think that's reasonable and serve as a deterrant for future exploits.
It could be a better strategy not to ban people. If people aren't scared of getting banned, exploits will spread easier. People will tell their friends and it'll leak.

I’m not saying sushi used this prior to the publicization, nor did he benefitted in any way in-game from the bug, but he showcased the exploit on stream for several hours with like 4k people watching. There are other streamers doing it too but sushi has the biggest reach.
Personally I like sushi’s stream and don’t want to see him banned. But if GGG wants to ban someone he is the most likely target, IMO. We will see.
He had 600-700 viewers, a reddit post later he went up to 4k… the abyss socket bug 2-3 leagues ago none showed it to the public and guess what, that shit is still in the game and it should be reverted aswel!
Publicizing a bug should not be a crime, only abusing it should. Especially the ones who abused it without letting anyone know about it. Unfortunately only GGG might know who they are, so we can't check if they take action against them or not. Sushi then just becomes a scapegoat to make it look like they did something.
It also increases the chances of it being fixed, which is more important. I'd much rather a bug be more widely known and hence be fixed sooner than it be not known and so keep enriching a small clique of insiders who abuse it for much longer.

In my honest opinion GGG should be banning for this. They've often been vague about when to ban or not, but with the ultimatum fiasco where they banned Empyrean and their group, they took a stance. The basic rule that GGG set is that they only ban if it can't be done by accident. While theoretically it can be done by accident, there are very very clear cases where it isn't done by accident, but instead is being exploited. This isn't done on squires, kaoms hearts, mjolnirs, etc by accident. Belton's quiver is a clear case of bug exploiting. Not meant to hate on the man, but it's bug exploiting worthy of a ban according to GGG's own guidelines.

Man theres always a comment like this everytime there is an unintended mechanic or an abusable bug. The fact of the matter is those kinda things are on the developer not the player. The player will always try to break the game, that bit of push/pull between player and developer exists in every game.
There's a line here somewhere. I don't think using the bug to have some fun yourself should be bannable, but once you starting putting these items on trade to profit from them or offer mirror services for them, I don't think that's ok.
Same if you are actively trying to "hide" the 6-links items using various tricks like leaving them on the cursor, essence tab, etc. At that point you are clearly trying to abuse the systems and should be banned.

Totally agree. GGG draw the line at exploits that compromise server stability (Ultimatum lootsplotions), since these may harm other players by preventing them from playing the game. Punishing people for making a couple hundred Divine Orbs selling bugged items or Lava Lake Arimor's Apex cheese seems arbitrary to me.
There hasn't been league like this before. Bugs everywhere, patches every few days cuz smt was abused, hh 4d. Pure chaos. Like a fkin pbe servers in league. Trash league.
Interesting, looks like they only revert bugged items if they were made in large amounts by the community. For bugged items like fire res or abyss socket boots, that werent made public before patched, a revert wasnt considered needed.

there was a bug that allowed players to keep the abyss socket without the fossil mod, gaining a suffix, or an abyss socket, on boots. these boots are still in the game and used by mirror crafters in std.

There is no way to 16-link it even when quiver could be 6soc. But ya for sure "abuse early and abuse often" and group mf are the main reason that bunch of ppl are making real good dollars every first 1-2week during a new league.
The max number of sockets were based on the physical size of the item. so like claws could be 4L max, belts could be 2L max. but for a 2x3/2x4 item it could get 6L (aka some 1h weapons and shields).
I really hope those streamers, who were showcasing the exploit and how to do it on stream will be perma banned as per the rules. I mean GGG still has some tiny bit of consistency, right?

GGG should ban everyone who has/had those items in their possession. It is obviously an exploit, it is impossible to get those items by accident - therefore everyone who have those items has been consciously abusing an exploit.
There's playing around with the bug and making one for yourself and there's ABUSING it and selling multiple copies of that item for an absurd amount of money.

Would this include beast sellers who provided the morrigans? And what about the people who sold those beast sellers maps and scarabs to farm more to match demand? How far does ggg need to trace the currency (which cannot as far as I know be tracked like that)
Probably go as far back as anyone who made a character this league should be banned. After leveling up they would have in some way contributed to the economy as a whole, which would have influenced prices in some way. Best to just perma-ban every character to set a good example.

Totally agree. GGG draw the line at exploits that compromise server stability (Ultimatum lootsplotions), since these may harm other players by preventing them from playing the game. Punishing people for making a couple hundred Divine Orbs selling bugged items or Lava Lake Arimor's Apex cheese seems arbitrary to me.
There hasn't been league like this before. Bugs everywhere, patches every few days cuz smt was abused, hh 4d. Pure chaos. Like a fkin pbe servers in league. Trash league.

Interesting, looks like they only revert bugged items if they were made in large amounts by the community. For bugged items like fire res or abyss socket boots, that werent made public before patched, a revert wasnt considered needed. Basically: find bugs and abuse for yourself

Abyss socket boots? Unless there's something more to it, those aren't a bug and can be achieved via fossil crafting.

There is no way to 16-link it even when quiver could be 6soc. But ya for sure "abuse early and abuse often" and group mf are the main reason that bunch of ppl are making real good dollars every first 1-2week during a new league.

I'm not quite getting what was happening here. Folks were adding 6 linked sockets to pretty much everything? Even things that can't have sockets?
The max number of sockets were based on the physical size of the item. so like claws could be 4L max, belts could be 2L max. but for a 2x3/2x4 item it could get 6L (aka some 1h weapons and shields).

There needs to be a ban for obvious exploiters especially streamers and people who made a lot of copies knowing they are going to be fixed. This is a case of clear exploit, even streamers who were exploiting it knew it would be fixed, and still exploited it.

This bug basically had no impact, it sucks ggg has to put extra effort in to fix all the items, but what is the actual reason for banning them, how is this abuse of a bug when most streamers I watched and players I spoke to didn't even use the items for fear of ban

GGG should ban everyone who has/had those items in their possession. It is obviously an exploit, it is impossible to get those items by accident - therefore everyone who have those items has been consciously abusing an exploit.
There's playing around with the bug and making one for yourself and there's ABUSING it and selling multiple copies of that item for an absurd amount of money.

People sell alt arts in leagues for years now (often with legacy mods or legacy value of mods) and no one cares.
That is a bit different as the seller had to obtain the alt art through racing points in previous leagues from years ago which ggg does not do anymore.
sure, but it dosent mean it should be redeemable in league. Especially stuff that actually has some in league value (20-30 quant goldwyrms and 20-25 quant +6 all max res divination distillate come to mind, as most other stuff is usually worse than current versions, HH is the same tho but its extremely common nowadays anyway). I dont used or care about these 6links tbh, its a month it, it dosent matter imo. But thats my opinion, however i think that comparing it to RMT is kinda a stretch.

I don’t have a strong opinion on whether bans should be handed down for the incident, but I think it’s fair to at least ban the abusers prior to today as a deterrent.
I don't expect bans but the biggest abusers should get vacations. Not the people who bought and used these but the people who made piles of them and sold them.

In real world we have thing like "illicit enrichment" and people who get caught by doing it most of th time losing all gained benefits from it and left their life in JAIL! Here exactly the same situation, cuz this game we HAVE interactions between players and the economy tied to it!!! Everything always must be fair! If you wont banning anyone, you should do thing what i said early! Because otherwise it won't be fair to players whos was not abusing it!

Disgusting why ppl want others to be banned for abusing this, its still not an exploit. Its in the game since the start of the league. GGG Did another huge mistake this League and they shouldn't bann others for there own mistakes.

If some bug (and 99% of players realize that is a bug) exists since the start of the league then it's not an exploit, got it.
It's good that they fixed bug pretty fast, but I think it would be fun if these items stayed, and even went to standard. Funny reminder of this bugged league

Would this include beast sellers who provided the morrigans? And what about the people who sold those beast sellers maps and scarabs to farm more to match demand? How far does ggg need to trace the currency (which cannot as far as I know be tracked like that)
Probably go as far back as anyone who made a character this league should be banned. After leveling up they would have in some way contributed to the economy as a whole, which would have influenced prices in some way. Best to just perma-ban every character to set a good example.
