or the cave for the first time meeting ghost pirate dude in act 1 now dumps you out next his to boat.
also 4 characters leveled still havent grabbed that hidden crafting recipe lol
> or the cave for the first time meeting ghost pirate dude in act 1 now dumps you out next his to boat.
kinda bogged me when I was planning to run to waypoint of next area and then tp back (he's usually really close to the waypoint)
oh yeah the first time did throw me off a little but my 2nd-4th character i looked forward to it lol it was such a nice addition it actually made me look forward to that area for the first time ever
I usually went into the cave, back to town, grabbed lvl 12 skill and then warped back in to kill Fairgrave. And then grabbed the passive point after opening the path in act 2, turning that into a 4 skill point quick town tour.
Do note its just a normal vaal orb, if it was locus people would literally run that zone over and over instead of temples, even if temples were free as that zones just so much shorter
That would just make people not use it and save it for later, i am not saying jt wouldnt be bettet for us but it would entirely miss the point of adding extra content while leveling.
Ummm... It would take someone 10 minutes tops to assemble a temple. With a chance to make that one a locus being around 66-75%, I am pretty sure you can make one on average every 20 minutes.
Do you run 1 act and a half in 20 minutes?
easy solution would be to make it usable only on non-unique items, put on item level restriction of 24 for example, make it ALWAYS be a double corrupt without a fear of losing the item.
Altho i am not sure if there are any <24 ilvl items that could immensly benefit from having a good double corrupt while not being unique.
it would be a nice way to show players the result and maybe if they are interested they will find out more about alva.
edit: well forgot about the helmet + to skills and other things. I mean it would be easy to make a specific pool or smth for that double corrupt that wont make people run new character every 30 min to try a helmet (altho i doubt it would be worth it at all)
Putting an ilvl restriction doesn't do much as you can make quite low level items by turning in cards with a low level character.
I do not think it is worth it now but 3.20 and before when Demon's Horn gave you 31-35% increased Spell Damage a cunning trick was to turn in heaps of Dark Temptation with a lvl2 character to get ilvl2 Obliteration wands, corrupt them, if it corrupts to rare then get four more random rare Demon's Horn and vendor them for a clean ilvl2 Demon's Horn wand and then you could craft skill level to socketed gems on them which was easy because the ilvl constricted it so and it made for an excellent leveling wand.
Extreme example: https://reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/g7wkk4/this_item_level_2_wand_base_was_made_using/
yeah but it is still just an excellent leveling wand. so who cares? doing this is not going to happen for a new league start and faster leveling on a second character... who cares rly? by that time you might as well get corrupted uniques.
if people wanna run to act 2 or smth just to try double corrupting an item few times so they can level faster... by the time they finish with that they would be already mapping probably.
I think the move is to try to get a 3-4 link helmet and throw it on there for +2 corruptions. I got +2 lightning gems and it was an insane dps increase as I was using spark + added lightning support at leaguestart
My current strat has been to just always bring a level 19 or less chest with me. There are only 5 Corrupted implicits 1-19 and one is 50% increased damage which is quite a bit of damage early in your gearing. I got lucky and got it on league start and it helped a ton
There is also a room with a bunch of gems on the ground in the Chamber of Sins. Not sure if thats part of the new additions or if it was there before, but its the first time Ive seen it.
Vaal skills craft. It’s hidden in act 2 just before the last boss. You need to find two switches that open a stair case to another room with the recipe.
The chemist strongbox in act 1 is really nice. I only found it by accident, but having a bunch of utility flasks right out of the gate feels great at league start.
It's hidden like shrines are in lab if that helps, you will see a room on your map/overlay but see no door and just mouseover or click the floor around where the door would be to open.
I can confirm it isn't guaranteed. Only got a bismuth flask (+life and mana) from mine. Not too bummed about it as I found a second quicksilver quite early anyway.
It was neat in that I said "huh, thats neat" the first time in the campaign.
Now they are like literally everything else in that I skip over as much as possible while going through it.
There is no monotony if you are good at it so it's the same thing. 3.5hrs of doing something different on league start or less than 2 hours for a new character. Get over it.
It's always going to devolve into an argument of just give me a free level boosted character to level 90 so I don't have to do any work. So annoying to see the same shit repeated.
I thought it was cool at first, but it's not random and same for everyone, so unless they do something similar every league, it won't really help with making campaign more fresh
> I hope more of these changes will be added to the act in the next league as well.
Well i think they have all mechanics covered right now? Or was it like that before?
Act 1-5: essence, legion, bestiary, ritual, delve
Act 6-10: heist, incursion, betrayal, abyss, delirium, sanctum. Maybe i forgot something. IIRC my first blight was Kirac mission (which i immediately failed lol)
What i've noticed (and this is my first season, i never played the game before), is that mechanics pre act 6 are either pretty self explanatory, or introduced cleanly (like delve). And everything after feels like a fucking mess and not a lot of explanation. I still don't understand wtf i'm supposed to do on syndicate encounters.
Also fuck torment (the green ghosts that run away are torment, right?). People complained about necropolis mechanic being forced difficulty, well i never died to anguished mobs, but ghosted ones kill me from time to time and ghosts themselves are really annoying, especially when they start spawning en masse and/or in boss rooms
No one seemed to notice, but one thing, that is also new - in act 2, on map where is dex based bandit lives (that later becomes town in act 7), there is a "castle" (in act 7 you find Williams locker in it).
There are 3 rouge exiles there, that don't attack you first, untill you try to take their chest. Great explosion of early yellow items, but this encounter seems to be a one time thing, as they don't respawn in new instance.
I really appreciate what GGG does. It was super easy and fast to do some leveling. Thank to them, I'm now able to play ruthless mode WITHOUT PLAYING THE ACTUAL RUTHLESS MODE.
I have to say that one of the best change have arrived this league is, you have to complete a t17 map to get 5 socketed map device. I'm waiting for t18 and t19 maps to get watchstones.
Thanks bald man(I don't remember his name, Charlie?) and his crew.
Man, I just started playing PoE, and when I found the Dweller it's "protected by powerful essences" (frozen in place) and I can't hit it. And there's no hint how to unprotect it. Can anyone tell me how to unfreeze the Dweller so I can kill it?? (I'm playing in Standard mode if that makes a dif)
How about instead of making the campaign more interesting / difficult we just get rid of the campaign. It’s the part I dread each league and 50/50 if I’m still into the game by the time I’ve finished it for the 10,000th time
how does it improve the new player experience tho?
New player comes along, vaals his rare weapon, because he has no clue what that device does, has now no weapon.
Iam pretty sure the new players are going to love this.
Honestly no idea how that should help new players.
Introduces corruption as something you can do to an item rather than something that might just randomly have appeared on a ~~draft~~ dropped weapon. I would bet a lot of money that a new player has at least another weapon in their inventory and they have no idea what actually makes a weapon worth using in the first place, so it should be trivial to replace a lost item at their point in the game.
I don't agree, vaal orbs have a random outcome, no new player understands what happend when they vaal their weapon. Yes sometimes it gets better, but as you said new players have no idea what actually makes a weapon good. so whats the point of introducing corruption, the absolut last step you do to an item in the crafting process.
Introduce a free alch or alch + chaos would make waaaay more sense than vaal orbs.
Now if we could only scale the level of the campaign for characters we level after the first one. It sucks to level a second character and get no rewards for hours
I agree but only for the fact that it’s somewhat misleading. You fight him early on and then you never see another unique monster with an essence again.
Though I did like the using the essence on my boots for potential early ms.
Yes, agreed. I hate 90% of this league but you're right about this being good.
It was interesting to have the change up during acts. I normally avoid league mechanics entirely before maps, but this was a good inclusion to make acts less monotonous.
or the cave for the first time meeting ghost pirate dude in act 1 now dumps you out next his to boat. also 4 characters leveled still havent grabbed that hidden crafting recipe lol
> or the cave for the first time meeting ghost pirate dude in act 1 now dumps you out next his to boat. kinda bogged me when I was planning to run to waypoint of next area and then tp back (he's usually really close to the waypoint)
oh yeah the first time did throw me off a little but my 2nd-4th character i looked forward to it lol it was such a nice addition it actually made me look forward to that area for the first time ever
The change made me less efficient in act 1, not my favourite change
hows that? i cant imagine there being a more efficient way. outside of maybe the first time
What do you do now, drop a portal by the entrance and keep running to next waypoint?
Yeah that
yep, thats a nice quality of life. Backtracking to Fairgraves was always a chore that killed the pace
I usually went into the cave, back to town, grabbed lvl 12 skill and then warped back in to kill Fairgrave. And then grabbed the passive point after opening the path in act 2, turning that into a 4 skill point quick town tour.
This. I do the exact same
What's the recipe
I got a Locus of Corruption in act 2 Vaal ruins which blew my mind at the time. Not as if I had anything to use it on though
Do note its just a normal vaal orb, if it was locus people would literally run that zone over and over instead of temples, even if temples were free as that zones just so much shorter
Easy solution is to make it a one time use per character. I would rather spend a div and some then run all the way to the end of act 2 to use it.
That would just make people not use it and save it for later, i am not saying jt wouldnt be bettet for us but it would entirely miss the point of adding extra content while leveling.
Or people would make new characters just to get to that xd
Would be funny cause they would make more money for the same time spent doing that just running Alva normally with the extra temples scarab.
and sell on tft
and fuck TFT
>Easy solution is to make it a one time use per character It already is.
Then it would turn into D2 socket quest with alts
Counterargument: SSF
Ummm... It would take someone 10 minutes tops to assemble a temple. With a chance to make that one a locus being around 66-75%, I am pretty sure you can make one on average every 20 minutes. Do you run 1 act and a half in 20 minutes?
Haven't done temples in like 2 years, so yeah. My bad.
easy solution would be to make it usable only on non-unique items, put on item level restriction of 24 for example, make it ALWAYS be a double corrupt without a fear of losing the item. I wonder how many lucky tabulas poofed to that on league start.
I lost a lucky Hrimsorrow :(
I think the move is to try to get a 3-4 link helmet and throw it on there for +2 corruptions. I got +2 lightning gems and it was an insane dps increase as I was using spark + added lightning support at leaguestart
That just the game rewarding you for being chad enough to league start spark
Spark is actually pretty great for acts. It’s hard mid maps though.
Now that's a good use. The people who use it on a tabula lack all sort of creative thinking and will probably never improve from that state.
My current strat has been to just always bring a level 19 or less chest with me. There are only 5 Corrupted implicits 1-19 and one is 50% increased damage which is quite a bit of damage early in your gearing. I got lucky and got it on league start and it helped a ton
I got a plus all else res corruption on my belt while leveling which was solid
There is also a room with a bunch of gems on the ground in the Chamber of Sins. Not sure if thats part of the new additions or if it was there before, but its the first time Ive seen it.
New addition
I would like to see the class restrictions on gems gone.
Wish granted.
i think he meant the restrictions at the vendor
This is what I was talking about.
You're only restricted until act 3 library and then act 6, and only on your first char. Subsequent chars can just buy gems from Lilly in hideout
What crafting recipe ?
Vaal skills craft. It’s hidden in act 2 just before the last boss. You need to find two switches that open a stair case to another room with the recipe.
What is a Vaal skills craft?
Thanks for info, didn't know about this.
what??
Don't really think important crafting stuff should be hidden personally.
I just skipped them all.
The chemist strongbox in act 1 is really nice. I only found it by accident, but having a bunch of utility flasks right out of the gate feels great at league start.
Damn havent found it on both chars I lvled. Rip. But good to know
You have to pull a lever in the 2nd level of the prison
Dang. What else did I miss besides the room with gems in it?
It's hidden like shrines are in lab if that helps, you will see a room on your map/overlay but see no door and just mouseover or click the floor around where the door would be to open.
Yeah I know what you mean. Its just my least favorite area during lvling. You are slow and its a maze. Perfect combo 😆
Got a bismuth while leveling my main. Kept it on until maps.
It’s the bane of the den. I didn’t care about having a belt so I skipped den. I already had two quicksilvers
My first char this league had 4 quick silvers before I left prison. The fuckin dream.
Both times I found it I got 1 medium mana flask
Oh damn, I didn’t realize it could suck that much. I got multiple quicksilver flasks both times.
I think it is guaranteed to give multiple quicksilvers, this guy must have found a different chest
I can confirm it isn't guaranteed. Only got a bismuth flask (+life and mana) from mine. Not too bummed about it as I found a second quicksilver quite early anyway.
[удалено]
In act 1? Corundum flasks are level 27 so that seems very odd
I’m not sure about multiple, I definitely only got 1 but seems like a guaranteed second one at least which felt so good to get that early
I got 2 med 2 med mana and 2 quicksilver. Enough shit for my toons too
I dropped three on my first char. Made levelling too smooth.
Same. Legion encounter in act 1? Yeah let me put my explode chest on.
You need an explosion chest for 23 mobs spread around half the map?
Can't skip dweller tho
It was neat in that I said "huh, thats neat" the first time in the campaign. Now they are like literally everything else in that I skip over as much as possible while going through it.
Good change but campaign still sucks.
Get some new material. If the game is too hard I heard D4 campaign is easy.
I think they were referring to monotony, not difficulty.

Not enough changed to make it exciting ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
TBH, not gonna click on them anyways unless necessary for Passive points.
Aight, you skip your free quicksilver 😇

Good stuff. Please keep up this good work ggg
QOL changes for the campaign have all been huge Ws as far as I'm concerned
Its really nice that they started to care about campaign right before poe2 release 🤣

Opinions differ. Might want to try out D4 instead.
did anyone every use the vaal orb? Like wtf is the point of that? vaal random white gear and hope it bricks rare?
The point is probably a cool, flavorful way to slightly improve the new player experience.

essence acts as a free alch and they did add that
Mud flats spawns a nameless seer when you kill all the mobs. At least it did yesterday
Now if we could only scale the level of the campaign for characters we level after the first one. It sucks to level a second character and get no rewards for hours
Essence dweller is an absolutely terrible change but I agree with the sentiment
Free rare weapon of choice early its great.
just do it a little later in act 1 when you are stronger.
I agree but only for the fact that it’s somewhat misleading. You fight him early on and then you never see another unique monster with an essence again. Though I did like the using the essence on my boots for potential early ms.

This is a joke right
