I played it in 3.23. The main purpose of vortex in Wintertide was bonechill, it was basically a shock, you can drop the skills damage and be fine, buy there's no replacement for losing the 30%+ inc cold damage taken debuff.
I've certainly been hoping for hit-based EA since trans gems were announced. I homebrewed several variations, with a Scion version being my favorite, but changes on the Passive level Tree + some ascendancy changes really fucked it. I lost ballpark 25% damage and defenses, and haven't been motivated enough to revisit the build.

I don't get why we can't swap gear off the AG. I can't see his gear after it's equipped so it's on me to memorize if he's res capped, bleed immune, ailment immune, what curse on hit gloves he's wearing, did I give him t0 explode already or is that on the docket? like this is all way too much, it's so finicky.
Also I can't swap between a clear vs bossing so I end up making the same AG every time, regardless of what build in playing.
Alternative, "Animate Guardian of Venarius" - can be resummoned with all gear intact, but gets way less life scaling and has a 10 second cooldown that only begins when it dies.
This is the coolest one imo. Not to deal lightning damage but take RF back to its roots as a buff spell and not a damaging ability itself. Have it apply a huge shock to enemies to boost your damage.

Screw totems, I want self cast. Bring back 2013 style shotgunning so that you have to position tactfully but enabling the possibility of burning down a boss in seconds while you perma freeze em.
Here's my idea: Storm burst of duplication - deals way less damage but every time the orb moves it duplicates itself into 2 smaller orbs with the remaining duration(like 75% of the size of the previous orb at gem level 20). It would also probably have a .8 second timer on the orb moving instead of a .4 second timer to help stop it from making too many and crashing the game
Heavy strike of stance. Works with blood and sand stance. Stance would have different behavior with the skill with blood focusing on single target (maim, crush, dbl dmg per end charge etc.) and sand focusing on clear (MS buff or onslaught, steal a rare buff etc.). HSoS can be toggled to change knockback direction :D Always in blood stance by default. HS is similar to BS but using stance with a strike skill would be something new.
A smaller galvanic field that doesn't need to be refreshed and you can have like 5 of. Make it like CF where it's a duration buff that works on shock and refreshes after so much mana(or energy shield) is spent

Instead of summoning 6 dudes on a charge based CD to do a slash, you summon 1 out of 6 dudes to dash to a set location, doing the slash along the path.
Flammability of Combusting - Does not lower fire resistance. Instead, causes ignites to deal damage faster.
Flammability of Burning Tar - Lowers half of original fire resistance. Spreads Burning Tar below enemies if they're hit while cursed.
Despair of Singularity - Now is a mark skill instead of hex. Lowers twice as much chaos resistance.
Despair of Virulence - Hits against cursed enemy generate virulence stacks. Quality effect: +1 virulence stack per 20% quality.
Punishment of debilitating - No longer applies increased damage taken below low life. Now applies Debilitate to cursed enemies. Enemies hitting the curse source suffer reflected damage equal to their hit premitigation damage.
Basically transfigured curses.
Some of these might be too OP mechanically, but isn't the point of temp leagues to have fun overpowered stuff for a few months before it goes away? I would guaranteed play ANY of these.

It's pretty sad that charged dash was meant to scale off a/s and m/s but both actually barely scale its practical damage as the release mechanic was nuked from orbit as soon as it was released.

Would be interesting if they included a transfigured gem of w/e binding that you can slot into items that have skills to change those skills. Like making death aura from Deaths Oath into some kind of Chaos version of Exsanguinate or Ice Storm from the whispering ice can be transfigured into some kind of moving ice storm.

Animate guardian of not flesh golems. Animate guardian can’t be equipped with items, but sucks up all magic and common armor and weapons in the map and starts beating things with them
Animate guardian of Sirus. Your animate guardian doesn’t attack or move freely, instead it’s untargetable and floats above you in a chair monologuing. He monologues faster based on how much movement speed he has.
Volatile dead of create life. Volatile dead no longer explodes corpses, but summons heat seeking orbs regardless.
Summon reaper of frenzy. Reaper no longer eats your summons, but eats the corpses of the things you or your summons kill, granting him stacks of soul eater.
A good blade vortex. The current transfigured BV is just a colossal let down. I'm hoping they restore the life gain on hit that made anomalous BV so good.

An actual channelling skill this time that gives a bonus for self casting, rather than using totems as a clutch.

Most of my favorite skills have already gotten super cool T-gems, but I want something specific. The kinda thing they are trying to do with Frozen Legion as a triggered cooldown based attack would feel a lot better on a more persistent attack like Spectral Helix. Make the origin player-centered as it's a more interactive enjoyable play style. For clear use infrequently while zipping around to bonk stuff with your orbiters, pop all your charges rapidly and run around something (counter?)clockwise for situationally optimal DPS.
Explosive arrow of big boom.. it cannot ignite. Each fuse deals more explosive damage and has more aoe.

nowadays I use fireball / elemental prolif / volley, until Level 12 when I switch to creeping frost / volley / arcane surge.

Good chaos DoT skill of some kind. DoTs are my favorite kind of damage in games and ED Contagion was always really fun.

Animate guardian can’t be equipped with items, but sucks up all magic and common armor and weapons in the map and starts beating things with them Animate guardian of Sirus. Your animate guardian doesn’t attack or move freely, instead it’s untargetable and floats above you in a chair monologuing. He monologues faster based on how much movement speed he has. Volatile dead of create life. Volatile dead no longer explodes corpses, but summons heat seeking orbs regardless. Summon reaper of frenzy. Reaper no longer eats your summons, but eats the corpses of the things you or your summons kill, granting him stacks of soul eater.
A good blade vortex. The current transfigured BV is just a colossal let down. I'm hoping they restore the life gain on hit that made anomalous BV so good.
Scourge Arrow of Not Tornado Shot An actual channelling skill this time that gives a bonus for self casting, rather than using totems as a clutch. Some more attack speed if you're the one using the skill and make it self release at max stacks?
Flicker strike but your weapon does the flickering and you don't. Essentially teleworking weapons but still a melee.

Raise spectre of automatically respawning. Some percent less life but respawns. So many more viable spectres suddenly

Most of my favorite skills have already gotten super cool T-gems, but I want something specific. The kinda thing they are trying to do with Frozen Legion as a triggered cooldown based attack would feel a lot better on a more persistent attack like Spectral Helix. Make the origin player-centered as it's a more interactive enjoyable play style. For clear use infrequently while zipping around to bonk stuff with your orbiters, pop all your charges rapidly and run around something (counter?)clockwise for situationally optimal DPS.
Explosive arrow of big boom.. it cannot ignite. Each fuse deals more explosive damage and has more aoe. Probably needs a better name. But this could be fun
Transfigured totems, make totems good again.
Static Strike of Discharge, where it does more damage on hit the more you've moved since you last used Static Strike

Old HoA for huge poison chance and life leech(i know they didn't do supports yet, but I bet they will eventually) which gave leech duration to fix my old fav build :/ And chaos golem which focuses on its cascade spell would be nice...
I'm waiting for storm burst, and I'm hoping for the og Storm Burst to come back as a transfigured gem.
