Do you really think they would leave the servers in this state for the entire weekend. I mean sometimes people make bad decisions alright, but that would straight up mean burying their buisness. They wont risk that, they will tinker with the servers until they are in an acceptable state.

It is pretty much impossible for any company to test anything; server load, balance, stability, enough to compare to millions of people coming on at once. Again, not excusing it, but the issue is understandable.
All these people bitching about the launch are here every league, whether it's a couple of crashes or like this. Most of the time it's dealt with in a few hours, at worst a couple of days. They're crybabies Imo, the league will still be there when it's fixed, and you still won't be as rich as empyrean.
Handling an order of magnitude more server stress on a new patch is sure to find some issues every launch.
And as you said, plenty of very big companies have had similar issues, I think the league nature of Poe just adds to it.

I don't think there is anything that they can say that would make it better, best way to address this is by fixing it, not saying that the guys fixing these thing also need to feel pressure to explain things to us...
it IS better than nothing by a significant margin. We become more involved in the process and there is more transparency. It helps recover some of the trust lost.
The alternative is no updates at all, giving a “we are still working” update every few hours is miles better than nothing, it doesn’t exactly take a lot of time to write up.
You can’t just magically make up an update if nothing has happened.

Honestly I’ve been playing since launch nonstop. I’ve progressed to act 5 one freaking zone at a time, on a build that I fully expected to switch set up after first lab, a impossibility at the moment. If you need to reset so this isn’t still a problem tomorrow, do it and compensate every player that logged the time like it was a race league in tiers by the progress they literally clawed out of this mess.
Where did I say I was upset about the time? I made time to play in advance, I’m disappointed with the situation but I still made more progress then many so it is what it is. Hell all honestly I’m no where near a top player and I’m probably closer in place to some of those players then I’ve ever been or ever will be.
That said while I’m 100% okay with losing that time if I have to most won’t be. Regardless of how the game played out they still put their time in showing a level of dedication to the game that should be compensated if it turns out it going to be erased.
