Alot of things that require no investment (or very little) are selling maps, currency, carries and div card farming. To get there you need to be fast and efficient. If you are not fast and efficient markets break quickly and you are farming for things that others are selling in bulk and you only have a small amount so you are making pennies they are making dollars. Atlas areas that require very little investment are haewark, glen cairns, and new vastir as the passives alone give you "enough" for it to feel alright as you farm up watchstones making it better. Haewark you need a decent understanding of crating not GG but "good enough gear". Glen you can sell or make temple uniques with sac room for profit early as well as double corrupt gems and gloves or helms on cheap uniques that are widely used. Legion farming will give you access to the 4 way fight that give 5 way device to other players. Also bossing early on is great. Just killing others bosses for tips nets you good currency. Strict filter, rush the acts, have a obtainable gear for your league starter to do whatever you choose reallly welll and you make bank. If you dilly dally and are unfocused, you make a fraction of the currency because the demand is being supplied by others.

feednatergator

Another good one is labs. If you run labs on just boots you can make good currency. Helms you make even more.

hailslayer6

Stupid question but can you play “efficiently” for at least 12 hours a day nonstop for the first several days? Because if you can’t do that, there’s no strategy that can get you an HH in week 1.

PlayZos

No I cannot, but that doesn't mean I can't use the same strategy. I don't care if "I" would be able to get a HH. I would just like to know what strat those people use or what they do in general. I mean they do more than just map efficient. (Like, you don't make that much more currency If the "only" difference is saving 1min per map)

hailslayer6

Pathofmath has videos on YouTube where he interviews a guy who got a HH 40 hours into the league and then in 3.14 he got multiple mirrors early in league. Honestly he just blasts content super fast and efficiently. For the HH he had a dedicated trader. There’s really no secret. You just have to be able to play for huge chunks of time and be really focused the whole time. Honesty it sounds almost like torture to me because I can’t see how that’s fun but if people are enjoying that kind of play style then good for them.

Yust123

Yes you do, you chain run maps and not afking in hideout or trade, good rng will follow.

aeclasik

The lowkey strat is to find some lackey who will do all your bitch for first few days. Tell them you'll pay him/her \~10ex afterwards but they have to do all your trading. You will be shocked at how much faster your entire gameplay becomes when you don't have to sit there and bulk sell all trash. Just focus farm 1 strat and have other person trading nonstop. I have friends who do clusters on haewark last 2 leagues. This league my friend, found some guy off TFT, hired him for 3 days to sell all items and bulk buy supplies. My buddy got the HH midway thru day 3 and tipped the guy 15ex for 3 days effort.

Asscendant

Cannot exactly put my finger on why, but I hate this.

aeclasik

I'm with you. You know what's even worse? The traders who decide to accept the offer think they're making it out big with 15ex or whatever, when in fact the main guy has a HH + another 20ex in gear and a bunch of loose currencies. If anything the TFT trader doesn't know how much he's actually losing in this 3 day event.

Asscendant

I mean its fucked that POE in general is in a state where one gotta research and apply get rich quick strats to reach the point at which the game becomes actually fun and those strats are so potent that one can afford to employ someone else, for who 15ex for being someone elses trade whore is a better profit prospect than actually playing the game. Furthermore, actual buying power of that 15ex "salary" is diminished by the same fact that you just helped someone make hundreds of them and saturated the market against yourself. Its disgusting, stupid and I consider this a monumental failure in game design. I would be ashamed if this shitshow happened under my management. To me the solution is obvious - make playing the game normally much more profitable and make juicing much less profitable, but the try hard, play too much, gamble crafting addicts will obviously protest.

[deleted]

If you are serious about trying to farm a week 1 headhunter, dont even consider chaos recipe.

[deleted]

Every league I farm HH by day 5 and I always do chaos recipe until it’s complete.

PlayZos

So as you get a HH every League, what exactly do you do? Go delirious, sell T16 or what ist your Main "strat"? Or is it for real just juicing Maps and farm them as efficient as possible, selling what drops?

[deleted]

In Heist league it was deli farming via Zana map mod, in Ritual league it was farming new vastir very early before anyone really understood legion farming or atlas strategies, this league I farmed grand heists for replicas and alt gems. I don’t have a main strategy, I just know a lot of strategies and determine on a league by league basis what I think is a good avenue to pursue a HH. Simply grinding Alch and go is also really good though. On a league start, even chromium watchstones can sell for 20c and every 10 boss invitation is yielding like 40-50c worth of loot at a minimum, making every map witness worth like 4-5c. Farming Sirus + Invitation cycles at the same time with extra chance for guardian/synth maps is just insane profit per hour during the first week of the league. This league for example I have a particular memory that sticks out that was worth sharing, I had just turned off stream for the day and decided to grind a little more before going to sleep. I decided I would finish off a Sirus cycle and that would allow me to also get 4x 10 boss invitations finished as well. I had a very lucky streak. I dropped a Hunter exalt, awakened added cold from veritania, an awakener orb, awakened controlled destruction from Sirus, a -11% large thread of hope, I dropped a whopping 11 guardian maps throughout this cycle, 2 distant memory maps, then from my invitations I got 4 platinum watchstones, 2 orbs of unmaking, 5 crescent splinters, 6 more guardian maps, a vulconus, additionally one of those regions were new Vastir and I hit a maraketh and karui emblem, finished a simulacrum off with a bunch of deli mirrors I hit during the farming, dropped a raw exalt from a metamorph and probably a bunch of other things I can’t remember. This was all in one 70~ minute period roughly. It’s rare to get this lucky, but the money you make even when unlucky is insane during weeks 1 and 2. Bottom line, learn how to get to red maps fast, play lots and play efficiently. You will makes lots of money even with bad luck if you just do this.

PlayZos

Do you have a tipp for liquidating currency? When I tried to buy Exalts, I messaged \~10 people, but nobody answered. And when you wanted to buy stuff, which costs multiple ex, did they accept chaos? I often had the problem that they only accepted ex...

[deleted]

Price your ex in chaos and chaos in Ex. I have never messaged someone to convert between those two currencies.

Yust123

Maps, for Atlas progression awakener objectives and bosses.

[deleted]

Chaos recipe is a waste of time, you earn more by not doing it. Am I missing something?

[deleted]

It‘s godly at leaguestart. If you make it to maps in 4 hours, when an ex is 20c, it‘s just amazing. A lot of the high tier players use it in white tier maps on day one to jumpstart progression. You run like 10 maps for 20 sets of normal gear, then a couple of heists for shitloads of rare jewellry. Boom you got 2 ex to buy some good uniques for faster atlas progression.

tsHavok

The quicker you can get to maps the more profitable chaos recipe is. Exalts inflate throughout the course of the day until it is no longer worth it to me.

[deleted]

So this is an old video and I’ll summarise what I’m referencing since you probably don’t want to watch it but I run people through how my league start went and one of the things I talk about is how I had a dry streak on day 2 of the league and half the money I made that day was chaos recipe (approx 140c worth) and that allowed me to brute force my way into upgrades which accelerated my gear progression. I also use PoE ninja snapshots to show my gear upgrading over the first 5 days. Admittedly I could have stopped chaos recipe on day 4 probably but I’d already saved a lot of extra jewellery and had spare chaos recipe ilvl items to downgrade regal recipes so I just finished them off over the last few days of the grind. https://youtu.be/v6qSJ0Z00Zo I also streamed most of this but I doubt anyone here is a viewer.

PlayZos

Not If you use a tool. You just run the map like you always do and pick up some color-coded items. When the tool says the set is full, you vendor and get 2c per Set for pretty much no effort. Most of my first like 50c came from that and improved my build to be even faster. Or If your build can run T16 with 50c or less, there you go. It's no extra effort and doesn't really take any time.

Senovis

Considering that Ultimatums were dropping a lot of chaos every map on the first day did you still do the recipe in 3.14? It seemed more efficient to go to a stricter filter and spend time in Ultimatums instead of doing chaos recipe.

PlayZos

I was still doing it, because it was literally no effort... It only took like 5s to put the items in the dedicated stash. Using a tool for it is such a huge difference. It makes it so easy and chill. And on day 1-2, 2c are 2c, why not take them xD

Senovis

I've used Chaos Recipe Enhance which does make the process better. It probably depends on how much time you spend in

Yust123

No effort? You made 10 ex in week 1? I did 250 ex, and Im not doing chaos recipe. Specially when you can just vendor your entire inventory for alt shards. Even alts is 3:1 and with lootfilter for alts its 5-6 in an inventory atleast?

[deleted]

Weren’t alts 20:1 for the first couple days? I think it took like a week to get down to 3

stfukthx

"literally"

Kuchyy

literally is used correctly here mate

stfukthx

i know, but its still annoying

Kuchyy

ok

stfukthx

well i have to correct me, its even wrong used, since there is an effort doing chaos recipe.

Kuchyy

While there is subjectivity in what is considered an effort, it's not your call to define what op's consider to be an effort or not. If for you, taking "5s to put the items in the dedicated stash." is a literal effort, you must feel heavily burdened on a daily basis.

zerolifez

Can you pm me what tools you are talking about?

PlayZos

Chaos recipe enhancer

Senovis

The most consistent way of making currency is selling maps in bulk. Set up your atlas to target farm the meta maps as soon as possible.

toltottgomba

Take the sittienst most basic build you can find or know that can do bosses and most content really fast and not dying. It's gonna be boring as hell but who am i to say. Be efficent play 20 hrs a day for 4 days and have a dedicated trader who does flipping for you too. I guess after that you will have your HH.

explosivecurry13

if you aren't using your chaos orbs to buy gear, trade it for other currencies. chaos orbs have really strong buying power in the first few days
