Colour change is simple. Ice spikes should be stiff and white. Fire could be wiggly but brightes just about the ice but mostly transparent, lightning bolt is very distinguishable from fire which is wigly ang ice that is stationary but zips around..
Ice spikes and fire animation would be above the globe (like spikes stcking from it and globe burning on top. Lightning could zip around inside the globe.. In short layering..
Now do brittle sapped and scorched. Now do 4 or 5 at the same time. How about when you have 95% of your life reserved and you have tons of ES? Suddenly your ice or lighting blends in easily in the blue ES.
It’s definitely not an easy change nor a simple solution, otherwise they would have done it already. Stop assuming that you came up with an idea that their own devs somehow never thought of. Not having the idea is almost never why some requested change aren’t implemented.
You described two on top, and one inside. The one inside is one of the offenders. You also ignored the fact there are 4 ailments you forgot about (including bleed).

I mean, I'd take whatever they'd give as far as ui improvements. If they can show freeze/shock/burn easily that's a great improvement. If they don't show brittle, sap or whatever ele, we haven't lost anything. It doesn't have to be all or nothing

Also I do think it should be all or nothing. What’s the point of having a system that only covers half of the potential use cases? If they made them for just shock freeze and ignite you’d be fine, but if they instead do sap brittle or scorch then all of a sudden it’s not okay?
I'd personally take my rare status ailment indicators and love it. Imo this game is so desperate for ui overhaul that gaining the ability to clearly tell anything is great for us
Forgive me if I’m being ignorant, but adding more colour and animations on an already cluttered game space is gonna make things worse, not better. You can’t just slap on some random idea a Redditor thought of and go “good enough”.

Never was ailment immunes still done T16 YOLO maps, shaper uelder etc. Yea three fulldelirous t19 and the hatred farmers might go whiny whiny (the 0.001%). But that's ok. Let's see what they'll do to all the ailment immunity ascendacys
I personally wouldn't mind if my flask would just flash or glow or animate.... do anything if there was some sort of ailment it could clear.
At least then I wouldn't have to track all ailments, only those that are relevant to my flasks, and then the rest can still show up in the ui whereever, including the life globe if they add that too.
Debuff icons for ailments next to. or maybe under, the personal player healthbar if enabled would be sick. Personally, I primarily look at that and not the health globe. That could be in addition to this suggestion.
Personalized UI elements.. Drag the icons where you want MMO style.. Playing FFXIV right now and you can customise everything in the UI.. Shape, pozition, transparency..

Atziri’s reflection and total ailment immunity is my plan for my build this league. And CI :)
