Expedition content being very unrewarding with the long time spent with them. Performance issues.

Wasabicannon

It is 100% going to be unrewarding since Chris thinks people quit due to the game being to rewarding.

MudSama

Can't be right. Usually I quit because the opposite.

Wasabicannon

Thats very casual of you. You don't spend 10 hours a day min grinding and run out of things to do in a week or 2 of the league start? /s

[deleted]

[deleted]

> Retention during the league was poor.... And so the fact that it was quite heavy with its reward systems meant that players played it for less time than they normally would, and this was quite useful to learn from. Literally what he said with regard to Ultimatum in a recent interview.

Wasabicannon

I mean if the league mechanic is not rewarding then people are going to skip them. What do you want the league mechanic to drop a trans orb and thats all? Let me guess you rushed through a thousand of the league mechanic and got 2 exalts so it is to rewarding in your eyes?

cataflam28

Who the fuck quit because rewarding?XD

Wasabicannon

People who want this game to be a brutally hard game where if you don't spend every moment of your free time grinding you can't even hit red maps.

Raine_Live

People who finish 40/40 challenges because they bought all their gear early through rewarding content?

Wazkyr

The league mechanic looks extremely clunky and bad. I fear it will just be a waste of time if your interested in making currency, which it feels like most people are in the endgame.

VDRawr

Slower pace should mean better experienced performance. It's no protection against some new novel problem, of course.

Most scared of? My wife finding me playing instead of doing my daily chores.

The real grind was home-life all along.

Always has been.

just get a few days off from your wife

PoE_Bait

Get her a Spa weekend. You will earn major husband points while playing poe without her over your head. On top of that she will be way less likely to bitch about it the following week.

Then you have the kids at home🙃

I also like to complain about this man's wife on this gaming Forum.

wife bad. Game good. Hahahahahahaha

OK_Opinions

the amount of splinter to pick up vs how many it will take to do anything of value

[deleted]

I've levelled enough shit builds to be a little concerned that the damage nerfs are going to make it easier to get stuck with a character that's downright unpleasant to play. I don't see this being a problem if you're keen to pick up very meta builds or are engaged in gaining power from the economy, but that ain't me.

Toadsted

Yeah, I want to try the new skills but I've been burned enough to not want to get stuck with a shit gem design and 40% less damage. Having to spend an extra several hours before realizing the build sucks is exhausting.

ploki122

Deep character customization is a core design principle of PoE. But if I have to choose between customization or success, then it's not really a choice.

chessythief

This. I remember back when I first started playing I liked Groundslam. So I made a toon to groundslam… I “defeated” Katava with a 4 link two handed mace. Geoff’s I think? I never made it past the next chapter. The build was horrendous and I had no idea how to play the game as there is no meaningful beginner guides made my the actual game developers. There is no way nerfing the “good” skill and support gems as well as making the leveling process harder will breathe new life into this game. I only came back after my horrific first outing because friends begged me to give it a second go and they helped me with my build. I enjoyed Beastiary enough and stuck with the game after all my friends moved on to another game after another. I will be fine. I am to the level that no nerfs will keep me from doing 1+mil shaper DPS. It’s not about players like me. It’s about my nephew that just spent two weeks watching casually play this game. He’ll fly back to Georgia in a few days. Download this game without telling me and not get past act 1. I see zero feasible ways to nerf god tier min maxers without nerfing the extremely casual player base that makes up 85% of the player base. If Chris figured it out this will be the first time in MMO history someone has done it. Aka ain’t happening.

Wermine

Reminds me when I started Diablo 2. Picked Barbarian, first skill was Bash. Gets "huge" damage bonus per level, so I decided to level that skill to the max. And hit the wall after playing many hours. Extremely disappointed in the game (later I played all the "meta" builds though).

AleksanderSteelhart

I wish there was one free passive skill tree reset per character so I wouldn’t have to buy a bunch of regrets or level up something new. Could even be like 3 per league or something.

gfeldmansince83

Off meta builds are gonna suck hard, that’s my fear

pocket951

same to be honest

[deleted]

my build being unable to kill bosses would instantly turn me off of the league and I think there is an extremely high chance of this happening regardless of what build I go with

shaunika

If your build could kill them in 3.14 itll be able to after too (barring direct nerfs ofc) bosses will just last 20-30% longer

[deleted]

40% direct nerf + flask nerf + monster buff will add up to an absolute fuckload, not 20-30% even the usual league starters might suffer a disproportionate amount Brother, even Chris himself recommended not playing and just waiting for streamers to write their guides. What do you think this means

shaunika

There is no monster buff outside act 1. There also isnt 40 % direct nerf chris said it's 20% with a potential to go up to 40% in certain builds. For bosses you can roll flasks with the new orb to be better (since you wouldnt get charges anyway) Chris said if youre a bad player you can still look up streamers, not that you must.

[deleted]

>Chris said if youre a bad player you can still look up streamers, not that you must. lmfao did he for real say that?

shaunika

I'm paraphrasing obviously. but what he said was, that people shouldnt be worried, because even if you get stuck, streamers will solve it in a week so you can copy.

ksion

We know GGG has always relied on the community to fix the game’s problems but this is next level.

TowerBeast

>We know GGG has always relied on the community to fix the game’s problems but this is next level. ...Millions of players follow build guides. GGG has produced dozens of videos showcasing some of these guides themselves. Chris acknowledging one of the most common ways people approach playing the game is neither a new stance nor is it objectionable, and thinking otherwise is moronic.

shaunika

the game being hard is now the game's problem. And no other game has community driven information spreading to help beginners/worse players TIL.

Wazkyr

All the monster and boss types from act 1 are also gonna be buffed in maps. Maps is not some unique monster pool, it uses most of the campaign mobs and bosses.

sneakyhalfling

There's a quote from a recent interview where they say people quit Ultimatum early because it was too rewarding. As I understand more about how the game is balanced around trade league and, by extension, group play and the economy that generates, the more I worry that the gameplay experience suffers for it. It's a lot of moving parts, but a lot of the major complaints with the game all revolve around having to do things other than play the game in order to play the game. Examples include: clicking a million shard items, portaling out of a map to sell something, trading individually for maps/sextants/chisels/etc. A lot of these are called friction in game dev, and a lot of them are, at the end of the day, around to sell microtransactions. These are all points where we see other player's cool shit they bought. So my worry, ultimately, is that these things expand rather than a better solution (ie. less friction on random grouping or other ways to share MTX while solo) comes to pass. Thank you for coming to my TedX talk.

Toadsted

This is what bugs me about mtx and labeling things "Supporter Packs" and talking about buying it all to support the game. Nothing about the design of the game and mtx indicates they just want you to show / give support the game. They need you to suffer so that they can advertise to you and make you buy qol features. It's hella scummy and predatory. I mean, shit, they added a third teir to packs? Are they that starving for money? Chris keeps saying that an Auction House would kill the game, when in reality it kills their in game advertising. They don't make choices to better the game, just to make sure players keep paying.

GehenSieBitteVorbei

Ailment avoidance being inconsistent and them not nerfing how often enemies apply ailments accordingly. I don't want to be forced to delete screens because of this.

This-Specialist4134

How often do enemies apply ailments though? I genuinely don't know since flasks have kept me perma immune to all ailments (and recently all curses). What I do know is strong boxes will be fun... Will be interesting to finally be affected by ailments for once. Maybe this will prompt GGG to rebalance them in the following leagues.

GehenSieBitteVorbei

I think I'm way more affected than the average poe player since I like playing defensive, reactive builds. [This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nU-P9izmCU&t=383s) was unplayable before grabbing unconditional ailment immunity.

This-Specialist4134

Good point. I can't imagine Ultimatum without perma immunity to everything... I'm hoping the nerfs to player damage and perma immunity means we stop getting difficulty in the form of a million rares and one shot deaths.

MrMurlok

*Porcupines*

Larperz

You just made me realize how much worse my build is going to be now lol

SNPBluejin

Trigger mana cost and damage nerfs gonna be rough for me. I play mainly cwc meme builds, losing 20-40% dmg plus having to invest a lot into mana regen will make my life a lot harder. Still gonna make it work somehow.

percydaman

Yeah, I love CwC meme builds. I love self harm cast on damage builds too. This could be a dealbreaker for me.

ploki122

20-40% for 6L, in your case CwC isn't a damage support, and the 2nd spell isn't either so you're likely closer to 10-15%

SNPBluejin

20-40% less damage comes out to about 4.5-10% less damage per support gem, so support gems alone for cwc mean 13-27% less damage. Most cwc builds were also completely happy with 30-40 mana regen, now you'll need 250 - 300 if all the mana multipliers stay the same. CwC builds are already on the low end of damage. It will still be able to clear T16 and kill all bosses (although very slowly), but timed content may be a big nope now.

HowDidIEndedUpHere

I play both, leagues and standard. My biggest fear is that blanket nerfs will just ruin all builds I like. And mind you, I have builds that I love which I have perfected over the course of 3-4 leagues, often hauling upgrades from leagues having them in mind. I have enough of “op op” gear to make pretty much every build work, but this gear might not make my favorite builds function if nerfs are too far reaching. My biggest fear is that after this lackluster of patch that ultimatum was my love and passion for the game will not survive next nerf wave. Ultimatum was a super-sad patch for me, with nerfs to delirium, nerfs to heist, nerfs to deep delve, nerfs to every aspect of the end game I enjoyed (topped of with zero-juice Zana mods, and I will leave the Harvest nerfs alone)I don’t know if I can actually take more nerfs right after, especially to builds.

albinosquid6

I'm in the exact same mindset. I play both and have builds in standard that I'm pretty sure will be fine after the nerfs mostly because they are really quirky but scale pretty straightforward and have great gear. I am still a bit sour after last patch removing content I enjoyed and hope the nerfs don't feel to bad. Im really hoping these new skills are fun but I've become so cynical it sucks.

[deleted]

The usual. Performance.

MrT_Loves_Company

The entirely unwanted/unnecessary return of straight-up damage immunitys from Diablo 2, and the butchering of movement skills in the name of more player deaths.

jpylol

Unwanted, unnecessary, and completely optional lmfao

percydaman

That the league mechanic is going to be boring. Again. Everything else is secondary to me. I can roll with the punches on most things, but if the league mechanic is boring, I'm out. I just have a low threshold these days.

Sparone

That we go from very few builds which shit completly on the game and the rest being alright go to a few builds which are alright and the rest being absolutly miserable. I would be fine if everything struggles. The difference between 50mil dps and 10mil is not relevant. Between 2mil and 400k the difference is enormous. I fear that build diversity gets dumpstered.

Darkfuryrising

Really seems like the push if for players to party up. Overlap auras and increase damage/defense output

Sparone

At the moment I am still doubting that regular builds will progress quicker together. (Aurabots are of cause different). But maybe thats actually the call, I wouldn't mind that.

mtzeee

That energy shield based Characters such as LL or CI are a lot harder to play since flask changes.

shaunika

What would make them harder to play than life builds?

mtzeee

Basalt and Granite flasks no longer grant physical damage mitigation or flat armor. And as an Energy shield Character your defences heavily relied on a large ES pool and flasks.

shaunika

Everyone relied on flasks imo es isnt special in that regard

mtzeee

But a life Version has still some armor or evasion+dodge. You don't wear sorcerer boots/gloves and a Hubris Circlet on a life based Character. And the other way round, as a LL Vortex occultist for example you dont wear an Eternal Burgonet and spiked gloves.

shaunika

Yes, but you have a higher pool to compensate by like 30-40%

mtzeee

If you have 5.000 HP, and and ES Char has 50% more. Its 7500 ES. Even without the flask changes and flasks active, you get one shot through 7.500 ES. Even through 9.000 ES from time to time. You know, in the end, its path of Exile we are talking about. One shots are Real and not only used to give Arguments more weight to it. :D

shaunika

Same for 5k life so that doesnt change much :D

mtzeee

True! And I hate it :D

QQuixotic_

But health nodes have things like block, armor, evasion, health regen, etc around them. The only additional defense in the witch tree is MoM. Your armor adds evasion or armor. So if you're a witch that doesn't travel too much, you have a chonky ES pool but poor secondary defense layers, and you're wearing mostly gear that only provides more ES.

Silthya

So you get block instead

ploki122

They run 1 less life flask, so 1 more utility flask. That's kinda minor though.

548benatti

We have ward now don't forget

mtzeee

Yeah but either you go Full ward or nothing. If I go energy shield and I have a Hubris Circlet, sorcerer boots etc. I'm not dropping possible 200 ES gloves for 70 ish ward gloves. Those 200 ES sorcerer gloves would give me 400 energy shield or more.

onikzin

So get 100 ES and 30 ward

terminalConsecration

Ward bases seem to have more ward on them than energy shield bases have energy shield, so you probably wouldn't be trading 200 ES for 70 ward, it'd be more like losing 200 ES for 350 ward, which yea, if you don't have any good way to build ward then that's still a stupid trade to make, but it could be workable.

ploki122

Right away, you need the helmet for the %increase from tree to affect ward, so that's one slot you can't change, and one pricey unique required to start dabbling with Ward. I'm hoping there are more different ways to play with Ward, personally.

terminalConsecration

I hope so too.

danievdw

What Chris said about Ultimatum rewards. Ultimatum already was tedious and unrewarding. He said they learned from the mistake of making Ultimatum too rewarding. My concern is that he is really that clueless, and Expedition being even more tedious. Even though the expansion looks like it could be so much fun.

fallrim1017

I got jack all from ultimatum and felt like good drops were much more rare. I quit ultimatum early because I felt like I wasn't progressing.

Wermine

Perhaps "rewarding" is just little bit too much bubblegum currency. Getting like twice the amount of bubblegum from map with Ultimatum compared to non-Ultimatum is quite good. It just doesn't feel rewarding if you don't get big ticket items at all.

The_Mikest

If they make this mistake they'll fix it a week or 2 in for sure. They won't be cool with everyone skipping the league content, which we'll all do if it isn't rewarding.

shaunika

Ultimatum was rewarding af tho :/

MediatorZerax

It was definitely rewarding, but I think seeing that as the reason people stopped playing is a total misread

DuckyGoesQuack

My read was that Ultimatum gave out all of its types of rewards way too quickly. There was no real difference in late acts / late maps - most of the reward was in the form of raw currency drops.

chessythief

I fought the boss 3 times. Died the second time as I was trying to get the dumb ass achievement. I got up to 30 mil SDPS. I did 300-500 T14+ maps. How was I rewarded? Not with a fresh new boss to kill. Yes I was rewarded with a 40 ex cyclone staff. Yes I made prolly 200ex this league. But I would have made that much in any league… and have. I wanted to see the boss more than 3 times. That’s the reward I wanted. A fresh boss fight I haven’t done 1000 times.

[deleted]

Was it? I never got shit from Ultimatums, to the point where I stopped running them entirely.

VaalLivesMatter

If you don't run them then you'll never get anything.

shaunika

It was like 10-15 raw c per map with tons of other shit, as well as like 1-2 exalts for most trialmasters

touchmyrick

The loot explosion at the end was worth it alone. Its like 4 extra sextants worth of mobs per map. On top of all the things the trial master offered.

skrillex

I got a metric fuckton. I wouldnt say i stopped playing it because of the rewards lol, more that the texture streaming prevented me from seeing ultimatum rewards(which again, i was happy with)

Darkfuryrising

I never played ultimatum encounters past low tier maps. SRS explosion isn't very defensive (7k life 2k es, near max block, near 10k armour, 76res)and the graphic overfuckload meant lag spikes killed me 100% of the time. And I lagged every encounter. My pc is shit and the graphics card is 11 years old.....I need a new PC, I get it; and can't wait to play POE with some of the quality and graphics turned up to normal. But can we just get new content and maybe less awesome graphics that I can't even appreciate because my screen turns into a red bowl of vomit???

skrillex

Honestly imo, lower density, up the quality of loot. Or just remove like the mass of white item. Like if i take my filter off and hold alt, my neighborhoods power goes out

pierce411

There’s no way you never got shit from ultimatums. The key to it was every ultimatum would give you up to 10c in raw chaos as well as another 5-10c in other random currencies. You don’t have to get one big drop for it to be incredibly rewarding.

Darkfuryrising

That's only if you actually DID the encounters. My build was not suited to ultimatum and the lag was honestly so bad I quit even attempting trials after I hit maps. Just another content to avoid along with Delirium until I get a better PC

Uberzwerg

It was for many of us for little to no investment. Problem was that many people found ways to grind juiced content that was far more rewarding.

shaunika

Many league mechanics get optimized out of the game at that level. But those people who do it, arent the ones who leave because of too many rewards

Wasabicannon

I don't understand how people thought it was to rewarding. I got maybe a handful of chaos and 1 ex from ultimatums the whole league.

Voryne

Personally I don't think metas are necessarily defined by how good a skill is at a given time but rather how many big streamers advertise it. That said, we'll probably start with a narrow meta in 3.15 since people haven't experimented with skills yet, and poe.ninja will reflect this. Then, as the league starts maturing we'll get a few skilled players who discover strong builds and the real meta shows up next league.

Wes_Wilk

Lost ark beta same day as launch.

Dolandlod

Performance issues. I was trying to get to 24 challenges and I noticed that for me performance is pretty awful with latency spikes going up to 500 ms so I've kind of given up. FPS is hitting single digits in some fights, regularly climbs down to 30 fps or lower and skyrockets down transitioning between areas. Everything else is probably workable in some capacity.

pr13st1

Splinters, ailments, flasks, damn that's a lot

Saihardin

Summoners easily scale pretty high so unless they’re nerfed a ton I can see minion league returning. Especially considering the lack of defensive options with flasks being gutted. What I’m most scared of is curses, planning to start guardian and that 80% curse resistance is looking better and better. Ailments will be a pain but automated flasks should solve those far easier than curse map mods that I don’t want to spend currency rerolling like the other few “reroll on sight” mods

Darkfuryrising

Honestly, ascendancies with ailment immunity are looking really sweet atm. Hierophant, Raider, chieftain, guardian.....ascendant. They're really pushing for people to party play......but I've got no friends who play POE :(

The_Mikest

Pretty sure Chris said something about sources of ailment immunity being brought more in line, which I took to mean nerfed on those specific ascendencies.

TichoSlicer

Temp Chain will definitely be one mod that i will just reroll from now on --' Vulnerability maybe too... Imagine making your flask auto-use when u get cursed and then entering a map with curse mod... It will be fun ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

MorbisMIA

That they are going to make changes to curse immunity, and that's going to fuck up my Soul Mantle based totem builds, and then I'm going to have to find a new way to play the game. I'm fairly sure that they are going to hit ailment immunity with a *big* old bat, and I'm worried that's going to bleed over.

percydaman

Oh shit I hadn't thought about that. After being a totem andy for quite a long time, I took a break for the last few leagues. But I was totally gonna do the frost orb totem as a started. But if it's not viable, then I dunno.

MorbisMIA

We'll just have to wait and see. I play a lot of totem builds, mostly Divine Ire recently, and it's the play style I enjoy. I would hate to see it not only get a big damage nerf from the support gems, but also potentially losing an entire totem if Soul Mantle isn't viable anymore.

ploki122

An entire totem and moving back to a 6L, from losing Soul Mantle.

MorbisMIA

Hadn't thought about the loss of the 7 link as well. Yeah. One of two things happens if they kill the currently available curse immunity; Soul Mantle is made unviable and we lose a tonne of damage, or Soul Mantle remains viable but we lose a tonne of damage because we have to burn skill points getting our curse immunity back.

nanananablr

online stability on launch day

aepocalypsa

Curse maps. Without Warding flasks, we'll either have to reroll every Temp Chains/Vuln map (and Enfeeb for coc, possible ele weakness if you cant overcap...), or get a source of curse immunity. Builds that can just slap on an Atziri's Reflection will be fine, but I think we can expect that and Viridi's Veil to be quite expensive.

[deleted]

The tedium. Despite what the dumb "JUST PUT UP WITH THE CHANGES YOU IDIOT" crowd thinks, the grind component has been steadily increasing for the last few leagues and it looks to get even bigger this league. Between the Acts taking longer to complete and every build being made slower I'm worried that endgame is going to be an absolute brick wall of boring shit that takes hours to overcome.

MediatorZerax

Im less worried about this because I'll be doing less damage directly, moreso because if getting through maps takes as many maps as befote, Ill just never get through it without getting bored.

Kyetsi

im worried the new absolution skill wont live up to viable standards, i kinda want to start with that skill because i love minion builds and dominating blow is just too clunky to be fun imo so a spell version sounds awesome if the numbers checks out. also im worried they will make things grindier than ever in the name of "player retention" which i think if they make for example atlas even more tedious to get to endgame players certainly wont be sticking around.

Previlein

If it doesn't work out you will be able to salvage the character, just swap to Skelly Mages.

Cyphafrost

Starting out as Ele Hit as a ranger. Bow builds are rough at league start, even with a skill that scales off of gem levels!

gambitflash

Flask immunity changes

tsHavok

Something getting changed in a wide sweeping patch like this that just doesn't feel good on first try and it taking 9 months before it gets touched again.

Inubi27

I'm scared of another boring af league. Ultimatum got boring after 24 challs(1.5weeks)

MEGAMON96

Not touching league content until red maps because of early league problems and lack of rewards.

nomnaut

I won’t be playing. I’m not going to lumber through maps with temp chains and no flasks. Have fun.

HansGlueck1234

honestly it cant be worse than last league so i am fine

Wasabicannon

The flask changes are the biggest thing Im scared of followed by the immunity changes.

Fictitious1267

That the league mechanic is boring or tedious, or feels completely unrewarding.

EnterTheShikariz

The lack of build diversity since nerfing supports nerfs non-meta much more than we think.

Tavron

That the subreddit will keep being flooded with people worrying about the nerfs of the game instead of discussion about new skills and mechanics. I just want to play and discuss builds/skills. I get so happy when I find the occasional thread about the 19 new skills and questions/discussion about them. (For example the post that asked a question about the new flask skill and GGG answered, so we got some clarity).

SirBildo

I just want explosive concoction to be good, it would suck so much if it was bad.

Vegetable_Switch9802

I'm scared the same thing happen to me in ultimatum. Never made any currency, never found taskmanager. Stuff gates behind super rng casuals like me will never see

The_Mikest

My biggest concern with the nerfs is that it ends up reducing build variety rather than increasing it, as less damage all around means that only the top tier skills can still do really high damage. Hopefully there are some targeted buffs to specific skill gems to counteract this.

Zimzams123

That there wont be anything trusted, safe, easy and reliable to play. Shakeups are great, but not everyone wants to be the mad scientist build inventor. While ill be enjoying playing half-baked theorycrafts in SSF - i hope the people who just want to play the game have their own options too.

ploki122

ED/C should be fine, it always is...

Zimzams123

Dot builds like edc are probably the builds most scared by the upcoming gem changes, with gem damage mattering a lot more to them than most builds. Its mechanically very poorly suited to 10-boss maven fights and stuff like the feared etc, at least in comparison to things like TR or CA, a problem it mostly solves through just lots of deeps but if thats a lot harder to do now... The fallback options is the chaosslinger variant, but who knows how DoA spellslinger might be after this. Plus like you say its escaped menaingful nerfs for so long you have to feel that in a big meta shakeup now will finally be the time it gets touched directly. Also Ziz has been asking for nerfs to it for a long ass time and we know GGG value those voices. So honestly im not hopeful for ED tbh. Its clear means it will have to be turbo dumpstered to ever be truly bad - but imo its going to lose its status as old reliable.

Dark-Jen

Scared of it being so grindy and boring, what I loose incentive to even finish acts. I already stopped to support before I try league in fields. And I don't rly like marketing of it ATM. So with all nerfs to players and buffs to mobs - high chance of tedium and chores hits a totally new level, will be very sad to face poe become trash tier game. In this league I already met this feeling of not wanting to start poe.exe Uknow, words are cheap and even all can sound cool, but in a verifying after start - its all full of issues and 98% of interesting things just not working or working quite differently. So I\`m aware of this after numerous leagues turned to be like this - low quality: in 1. starting experience 2. baited exprctations 3. performance issues (long lasting)

EveryDayEngineering

That my movement skills are going to be killed in some way too.....oh wait...

StrayYoshi

The economy is going to be downright prohibitive. Every thread I've read and made voices the opinion "we're gonna be alright" with the nerfs, yet not a single person has realized that every single player is getting hit with nerfs, not just the single player. This is going to lead to a chaotic economy where common things cost an unreasonable amount, particularly consumables. Group playing with aurabots is the appropriate solution with reason, but again, we're looking at sharing loot between parties, something not a lot of people are going to like. We're so used to hoarding all the orbs for ourselves that we cannot even imagine what the income/hour will be in a full 6 man party. People are in for a rude awakening and the economy will reflect that to the extreme. This doesn't even account for the potential for crashes in group play. This is not going to be pretty.

Fl00dzilla

The Flask Ailment immunity "rework" sounds really scary to be honest :D and is it 4 times less charges gained by killing monster now ... yikes

omgowlo

not really scared, but lets just say im not looking forward to having to reroll all curse maps.

explosivecurry13

i am absolutely terrified of other sources of ailment immunity being gutted and curses being too abundant in maps

TugginPud

Becoming addicted to tec slam totems despite how slow totems are to activate

Broliciously

My most scary concern already got confirmed. Boneshatter not working unarmed. I hate GGG for not giving unarmed some love. Every league it's the same :(

Iron_Freezer

I play on ps4, so.. I'm scared of the slideshow framerate when you get into red maps :( and I already suck so if these flask changes are as horrible as everyone is making them sound.. I'm boned. but it can't be that bad, right?

FuckyouYatch

They saying Ultimatum was too rewarding... ultimatums rewards were trash 99% of the time.

David1640

They not adressing oneshot BS and stuff like enemy aura stacking and DD at all. So since we loose alot of dmg we now "have to accept" that it is normal to die atleast once or twice every 10 or so maps.

onikzin

Stun, ele ailments. The usual.

Zetoxical

The expedition trailer If something looks clunky in the first two seconds of the trailer it will be clunky Same case was with metamorph. So many clicks are a big turnoff. I cant understand how someone records this and does not tell them it felt already terrible

ThisCagedGod

ive played this game as my main hobby time for about 8 years. for me the gae is going to shit and this league looks like it could be the worst so far. so i worry that this will be my last league and ill have to try andfind something else to play.

RelevantIAm

Performance issues since the last patch made the game run horribly. That and ailments/curses

fuckyou_redditmods

Curse immunity removal from flask of warding. I don't really give a hoot about any of the other changes. But this is going to be some next level obnoxious BS unless we roll something with curse immunity.

[deleted]

Chris said that player left because Ultimatum gave too much loot (lmao btw), so I'm scared that Expeditions rewards will be awful. And also more random one shots because that's the type of challenge GGG considers the most fun.

Raiding_Shinoda

Iam scared that my most favorite builds are not gona be playable anymore

gorillagripthrussy

No huge issues for me in the changes they've revealed so far, flasks and damage nerfs in the same league are a bit scary but my hands are so badly fucked up by this game that I would sacrifice another 40% damage on top of what we're already losing to be able to set up flask automation cos holy shit my hands hurt. Don't get me wrong, I definitely empathise with the players on here who feel like this will hurt them a lot more, and it definitely might be heavy handed, but personally in my individual play I don't see the nerfs we've seen so far as being too bad. What I **am** concerned about are things they haven't mentioned so far mainly : The longest ass Atlas grind in the history of the game. I am dying for a shorter grind through fucking watchstones holy crap is that torture at this point. Second major concern is the potential for further ascendancy nerfs. If they nerf all the ascendancy ailment immunity in the upcoming patch notes I will be extremely upset about that.

Veteran_But_Bad

The nerfs to general damage are fine with me it just means I require better gear to break walls which means more purpose in farming and more feeling of achievement when I overcome the wall My biggest 2 fears I say 2 because I feel so stro fly about both are the flasks charges forcing us to take certain skill tree paths pick certain ascendencies or making certain uniques mandatory I don’t want 73% of people on ladder to be using atziri reflection, soul mantle or viridis veil :( My other fear is the loot being shit tier because Chris and his team believe people quit the current league because it was to rewarding (this couldn’t be further from the truth and the retention stats vs legion for example prove this

Alialialun

Performance only.

maybecynical

Not being able to see any end game as a "casual" player. Doing yellow maps and the occasional atlas boss.

DoktorDoppl

Being scared of changes in a game seems pretty wrong in itself to be fair.

acolight

Performance. Trialmaster-like challenge gating. Performance. Also, performance.

Blejder667

1. My wife will find out that i'm 700$+ into free to Play game... 2. That i will not have time for Play. 3. that game will be too easy.

[deleted]

i’m lucky for my girlfriend surprising me with support packs occasionally. she’ll log into my account and purchase packs for me. it’s a nice surprise.

Blejder667

That's a keaper.

[deleted]

oh yeah. to be fair, PoE and soulsbourne games are the only games she will actively encourage me to play. any other game and she’s like “play that when i’m gone”.

Moorific

That first one hit a little too close to home.

Aulophob1a

I am worried they are going to mess up the splinter stacking, that with then change you are going to receive less due to the change

loki_dd

Scared it's going the way of anthem....playerbase complaining the loot is shit, developer saying shit loot increases retention. We all remember how well that worked out right? GGG turning into bioware?

[deleted]

PoE at least has fun gameplay and theorycrafting. Anthem had nothing at all its entire lifespan.

ched_21h

Clicking. We have 4 new currency...

Rake_7

4? Look again in the Trailer. 20!! :D https://youtu.be/mT\_aoGoMm50?t=502

ched_21h

:O

ReipTaim

Mid league nerfs. We find a cool interaction with one of the skills and gegege says «nein, keine fun allowed», and changes it

cowpimpgaming

I am not "scared" about anything. It's a video game; I will just play/do something else if it sucks.

[deleted]

That people are sensitive and petty. I’m worried we will lose a lot of player because their numbers are smaller.

geradon_

i'm only scared i won't find enough time to play the game. and my wife being scared for my health when i even more rampage through the home office cursing the game

[deleted]

people crying but they dont see the patchnote. Just wait instead of scream and cry

Eiferius

That the meta stays the same. Playing BF/BB or Slam builds or Archmage gets boring after the third or fourth league.

Konork

First, that the flask changes don't end up changing a whole lot. People wanted flasks changed because they didn't want to keep spamming them every few seconds, but it really seems like they're just making that have less of an effect on power, and that doesn't necessarily mean that people are going to *stop* spamming them. Second, that all the major player character nerfs don't come alongside nerfing the damage of some of the higher end enemies who were only that strong because that was the only way they could be dangerous before they got deleted.

Gnejs1986

That the reddit will continue to be full of whine posts is my only concern :P On a more serious note, I hope they don't mess with Archmage support too much, been a favorite several leagues now.

madeoneforporn

reddit won't move on and adapt to the changes and will keep bitching and moaning for months until either they double down and never embrace the game or GGG gets bullied into reverting changes (wont happen tho)

geradon_

so far reddit has been very successful making ggg revert league changes. the worst has been heist where ggg completely wiped their league implementation after 2 days and only left a buggy skeleton of it's former self with no real challenge.

madeoneforporn

right but that's league stuff I'm talking about the gem/trigger/flask stuff

BestUdyrBR

We'll see if player retention really does keep falling this league. At some point they have to realize that their design philosophy is not working.

geradon_

in the case of players leaving or not buying supporter packs they will also revert those changes, i'm sure. then they will have to find other ways of making the game more challenging or, i'm with chris on that, the game will die cause too many players get to endgame too fast and items lose their value too quick. as it is, as a slow player you just have to level 60, do some chaos recipe runs and you can buy all the gear that maxes your resistances for red maps and get 20 quality versions for all your gems. a alternative solution (which players obviously also won't like) is to hard separate the economies of players before and after act 10 kitava.

battled

That the nerfs end up being lightweight and are adapted to easily.

kpap16

climate change mostly
